Aeolus was a competitor robot that attempted to enter Series 4 of Robot Wars. It failed to qualify for that series, despite winning one of its qualifier battles against Weeliwako 2. Team captain Peter Waller later sold Aeolus to an unknown buyer following its failure to qualify.
Peter Waller later entered the Antweight Championships of both series of Robot Wars Extreme with Combatant and Militant, winning the championship in the first series.
Design[]
Aeolus was a low, rectangular-shaped tracked robot with front, side and rear wedges and armed with a front low-pressure pneumatic spike. The spike was capable of penetrating through 1mm thick steel, while the robot was powered by Bosch 750W motors driven by custom-made speed controllers designed by Peter Waller. Aeolus was armoured in 3mm aluminium plating, and painted red with hazard stripes and a pair of skulls on its top panel and front wedge.
Qualification[]
Aeolus fought in two qualifiers with mixed results. It defeated Weeliwako 2 in its first battle, but lost its second to an unknown robot after its home-made speed controller failed. As a result, it failed to qualify for the Fourth Wars.
