Backstabber was a long, high wedge robot, similar to the Series 6 version of Kat 3 except it had a rear axe rather than a front axe. Its weapon was a long stabbing arm on a pole with a chisel capable of punching through sheet steel and the main body had various devices to neutralise cutting/stabbing weaponry of other robots. Backstabber was entered by a team from a tech school, led by the teacher Howard Sanford and driven by the student Sanjay Patel. It entered Series 3 of Robot Wars but lost in the first round to Razer.
The team also tried to enter Backstabber into Series 4, but they failed to qualify. The team didn't compete in Robot Wars after this.

Series 3
Backstabber was very sluggish at the beginning of this fight, almost appearing to be immobilised from the start. Razer attempted to crush Backstabber, but the wedge shape was difficult for the claw to get a hold on, and it could only scratch down the side. Instead, Razer then made a run-up and managed to plough Backstabber into the pit, just as Backstabber's weapon came crashing down onto Razer. This caused no damage, though. The school robot was beaten in just 20 seconds of fighting.
