Robot Wars Wiki

Bluemax was a machine that competed in the second series of Dutch Robot Wars. The robot's main weapon was a clamping arm, but it was comparatively light, and lost its first round battle against eventual champion PulverizeR.

Bluemax was a joint effort between Team Blue and Team BAFL. The teams had previously worked on machines Blue and Maximill respectively, and combined the two names to form Bluemax. Just like with Blue in the previous series, the team added a fun factor to the proceedings by dressing up in blue costumes and dyeing their hair and skin blue.

Bluemax is also the informal name of a German WWI military medal called the Pour le Mérite.

Dutch Series 2

Bluemax looked fairly nippy in the opening stages, dodging the destructive weaponry of PulverizeR, but eventually PulverizeR got its disc up to speed and began hitting Bluemax's claw, bending it. Both of the balloons on top of Bluemax were popped and its tyres were damaged before PulverizeR closed in and flipped it over, immobilising it. Mr. Psycho hit Bluemax with his hammer and pushed it into an angle grinder before Shunt pitted it.
