Conveyor Belts were the least conventional type of lifting weaponry. Conveyor belts proved to be one of the least effective weapons in Robot Wars; during the seven-year run there was never a televised case of a robot successfully picking up an opponent with a conveyor belt.
Definition
- A conveyor belt is typically equipped to a wedge shape. The goal of a conveyor belt was to pull other robots up and over the wedge. Several roboteers used chainsaw chains in place of belts with the hope of snagging and tearing an opponent's underside.
Advantages and Disadvantages
Advantages
- Conveyor belts can easily attack the underneath of a robot, which is the most vulnerable spot in most cases.
Disadvantages
- Conveyor belts do not have significant amounts of power, and can easily be stopped by a stronger weapon. This was shown in Suicidal Tendencies' battle with Forklift's Revenge. Even though the weapon can grab and pull robots over the back,it never was shown happening.
