Cruncher was a robot from Team Wharthog that failed to qualify for Series 6 and 7 of Robot Wars. It originally failed to qualify for Series 6, after losing radio signal very quickly in its qualifier battle. For the Seventh Wars, Cruncher was given minor upgrades and renamed Cruncher 2, but failed to qualify again.
The team had previously competed on Robot Wars with Wharthog in Series 1 and the Series 2 Middleweight Championship, and Crusher in Series 3. Neither Wharthog or Crusher won a battle or progressed beyond the first round in any competition.
Design[]
Cruncher was an invertible, four-wheeled, rectangular box shaped robot armed with a set of large horizontal pincers at the front. However, these pincers proved very unreliable and unstable, and remained relatively ineffective when the robot fought at live events.

Outside Robot Wars[]
Cruncher 2 fought at a few live events after Robot Wars ended, with little to no success, before retiring from combat all together. One such event it competed in was Roaming Robots in Folkestone in 2004, also previously fighting a battle against M2 and Dantomkia in 2003.
Trivia[]
- If Cruncher 2 had qualified, that would have made Team Wharthog the only team to fight in Series 1 and 7 with any of the same team members. Cold Fusion Team are the only team to fight in Series 1 and 7, but with completely different robots and team members.
