The top of the robot

Cyclone was a tall, invertible robot that was circular in shape. Its weapon was a spinning outer rim, described on its statistics board as 'spinning hammers'. However, the weaponry failed to work in either of Cyclone's battles, so the robot was forced to function as a ramming robot. It was armoured in polycarbonate, and was one of the only robots in the series to be driven on tracks.

The Team

Cyclone was entered by a Dutch team, named Team Simon Says, after the famous playground game. The team was captained by Bart Janssen, who was accompanied by Frank van Heesch and Ronald Vogels.

Robot History

Dutch Series 2

In the first round of Heat D, Cyclone was drawn against Amok.

Cyclone Amok

Cyclone pushes an immobile Amok into the CPZ

Cyclone appeared to have problems getting its weaponry working, however this turned out not to be a problem, since it spent the battle pushing Amok around the arena, leading to attacks from Dead Metal and Matilda. Amok became immobilised and Cyclone and Matilda teamed up to push it into the pit.

Cyclone advanced to the Heat semi-final, where it faced the flipper of Scrap-2-Saur.

ScraptosaurvsCyclone

Cyclone is flipped onto its side

Cyclone once again failed to get the spinner working, and was chased and flipped into the CPZ of Sgt. Bash. The house robot couldn't get its pincers to grip Cyclone, since the competitor was too big. As Cyclone escaped, Scrap-2-Saur came in with another flip. Eventually, a well-positioned flip by Scrap-2-Saur lifted Cyclone onto its side, where it was stranded and beaten. Scrap-2-Saur finished Cyclone off in the pit of oblivion.
