Cygnus X-1 was a competitor robot in Robot Wars: The Seventh Wars. It was a wedge shape robot that was armed with a rear-hinged flipper. The robot lost the only fight that it fought in, to Atomic and S.M.I.D.S.Y.. Its team also entered a featherweight robot called Cygnus in the featherweight battles of Series 7, but it too lost in its first round. It was the only robot in Series 7 that Atomic defeated, but not to be thrown out of the arena.
Robot History
Series 7
Cygnus X-1's battle started by having Terror Turtle launched onto it by Atomic, and then being mounted by the now-upside down robot. Atomic then flipped Cygnus onto the angle grinder on the arena wall, before flipping Terror Turtle out. Cygnus meanwhile was struggling to self-right, and was shoved around the arena by the other two robots. Atomic had wedged S.M.I.D.S.Y. onto the wall and nearly flipped the seeded machine out too, but wasn't able to. Atomic again attempted to flip out Cygnus, but was again unsuccesful. However, the newcomer was still unable to self right, and was counted out by Refbot. Cygnus X-1 was out.
