Firestorm is a British heavyweight robot which competed in Series 3-7 of Robot Wars as well as both series of Robot Wars Extreme. It reached the Grand Final three times and never failed to reach the Semi-Finals on each of its appearances in the main UK Series, also emerging victorious in the Extreme 2 Commonwealth Carnage event.
The Series 5/Extreme 1 incarnation, Firestorm 3, is represented in the Game Boy Advance version of Robot Wars: Extreme Destruction under the title Firestorm III. This marks the robot's third appearance in a Robot Wars video game following Robot Wars: Metal Mayhem and Robot Wars: Arenas of Destruction. Firestorm 3 is one of the five playable competitor robots available at the start of the Game Boy Advance version of Extreme Destruction.

Despite the polygonal appearance of all of the robots, the game's representation of Firestorm is fairly easily recognisable as its real life counterpart. Firestorm's classic wedge shape is visible and the colour scheme is similarly recognisable, however the graphical quality obscures this somewhat.
Firestorm's popup front-hinged flipper is represented in the game, although its functionality is more to throw, as with Mute in real life, as opposed to tipping, as Firestorm 3 displayed in Series 5 upon which the game is based.
Strategies[]
Using Firestorm[]
Firestorm's flipper is very powerful, but toppling opponents isn't ideal as all robots are capable of self-righting, and Firestorm's weapon throws opponents instead of toppling them over. Firestorm's pushing power is decent, so use this in connection with the weapon to manoeuvre opponents into the arena hazards.
Against Firestorm[]
Because Firestorm's pushing power is reasonable, pushing it into obstacles is not the best option. Instead of this, use spinning weapons to attack the side and rear of Firestorm to immobilise it.
Differences from Real Life[]
- Firestorm's flipper is not visible when retracted.
- The colour scheme at the back of Firestorm is slightly different.
- Firestorm's flipper is very powerful, being capable of flipping opponents as high as robots such as Chaos 2, whereas in real life it simply toppled opponents over.
- Firestorm doesn't have the polka-dot colouring, but this might be due to graphical limitations.
