#A tight one. In the brief clashes we saw of the two fighting in the Tag Team Terror...all 15 seconds of it...Tricerabot seemed like it was having a few issues pushing Tut Tut due to the latter's pyramid shape. For a full five minute bout, however, I expect that these attacks will still be considered for aggression, and I think overall Tricerabot should have the advantage. "Welcome back to Robot Wars: Extreme Warriors, where 24 of the toughest all-American robots have been fighting it out to be crowned the Extreme champion! We're now halfway through the heats and so far, Manta and Panzer Mk 2 have booked their place in the final. Who will join them from today's gathering? We're about to find out...."

Round 1

Unibite vs Tut Tut vs Tricerabot

Unibite Tut Tut Tricerabot
Unibite
TutTut
Tricerabot
Votes for Unibite
  1. This seems like the perfect battle to start the vote on, at least until you see the other fight and you think "Why were these three drawn together!?" Especially considering Unibite might have even made it through. As it is, it's facing two reliable machines whilst being very unreliable itself. CrashBash (talk) 13:09, October 7, 2018 (UTC)
  2. Considering that Unibite tended to die under little pressure half way through a fight, I say it is the most vulnurable.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 13:20, October 7, 2018 (UTC)
  3. Ouch, what a melee! Now, Unibite could progress providing it takes out the exposed tyres of either Tut Tut or Tricerabot. While I should note that Tut Tut's drivers will have to learn how to control an unfamiliar robot, I think they should get the hang of it relatively early on. Tricerabot should dominate through, with good slams being enough to take out Unibite's drives. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 15:42, October 7, 2018 (UTC)
  4. Unibite really needs to immobilise an opponent quickly before its tendency to conk out does for it. Tricerabot's a brick and Tut Tut seemed pretty reliable with a reasonable axe, one of them should be able to put Unibite under enough pressure to kill it. Combatwombat555 (talk) 19:54, October 7, 2018 (UTC)
  5. Melee and a half, sadly Unibite the weakest of this lot. Hogwild94 (talk) 20:24, October 7, 2018 (UTC)
  6. Unibite definitely feels like the weak link in this one. BizarroKing (talk) 21:07, October 7, 2018 (UTC)
  7. I wouldn't be surprised if Unibite did qualify through this melee, it certainly makes sense, but not worth arguing when its breakdown is very feasible. TOAST 08:38, October 8, 2018 (UTC)

The Brute vs Tiger Cat vs Close Enough

The Brute Tiger Cat Close Enough
Brute
Tigercat
Close Enough
Votes for The Brute Votes for Tiger Cat
  1. Close Enough could at least ram, it did so against Manta quite well in the real championship. Tiger Cat had relatively weak armour and little way of fighting back. In fact I'd say the combined ramming attacks from both Rambots could just about know Tiger cat out.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 13:22, October 7, 2018 (UTC)
Votes for Close Enough
  1. Brute and Tiger Cat could fight each other for the entire duration, to the point one of them is actually immobilised, and they'd still both go through. Anyone who's seen Close Enough "fight" can attest to that. CrashBash (talk) 13:09, October 7, 2018 (UTC)
  2. I totally get Diotoir's vote here. However, Close Enough flat out did not work in either of its battles, while Tiger Cat at least had the issue of being covered in WD-40. I think a good slam by Brute would be enough to take out Close Enough, with Tiger Cat surviving a little while longer. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 15:42, October 7, 2018 (UTC)
  3. Tiger Cat was pretty fragile, but it was also pretty reliable, to the point where you could make a case for it being the winner of its US Championship melee as by far the most mobile. Close Enough just seemed incredibly unreliable. Combatwombat555 (talk) 19:54, October 7, 2018 (UTC)
  4. Close Enough the least effective fighter here I would say. Hogwild94 (talk) 20:25, October 7, 2018 (UTC)
  5. Tiger Cat at the very least has some offensive weaponry; Close Enough has nothing going for it. BizarroKing (talk) 21:07, October 7, 2018 (UTC)
  6. This is the weird thing about Tiger Cat, it was an intentionally weak robot with shambolic armour, doused in WD-40 for maximum failure, yet it always seems to scrape a win in Ragnabot tournaments and now even its own domestic championship. I suppose it's subtly not that bad. TOAST 08:38, October 8, 2018 (UTC)
Eliminated: Close Enough (0-1-6)

"And that's all she wrote for Close Enough as her dreams go up in smoke!"

Round 2

Tricerabot vs Tiger Cat

Tricerabot Tiger Cat
Tricerabot
Tigercat
Votes for Tricerabot
  1. After a brief moment where both robots deliberately either provoke Sgt Bash or linger over the flame hazards to set themselves ablazing, Tricerabot to have its way with Tiger Cat, probably getting some armour broken off its opponent in the process. CrashBash (talk) 14:02, October 9, 2018 (UTC)
  2. See the Manta fight, except there's no panels coming off.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 14:17, October 9, 2018 (UTC)
  3. Could be a bit of a Thor vs. Tough as Nails here, where a flaming axe takes on a pusher, the key difference being that the pusher should win once Tiger Cat starts to display damage from the House Robots. TOAST 15:17, October 9, 2018 (UTC)
  4. Impressive shoving power and way more sturdy; I don't see anyway they CAN'T win this one. BizarroKing (talk) 21:49, October 9, 2018 (UTC)
  5. Yeah, not quite the massacre that was Tiger Cat vs Manta, but pretty close. Hogwild94 (talk) 22:10, October 9, 2018 (UTC)
  6. Tricerabot ultimately is just too strong for Tiger Cat to resist. Therefore, in spite of the fact that both will be on fire at some point, Tricerabot will have no trouble pitting its opponent. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 18:42, October 10, 2018 (UTC)

"It's a flaming, faceless tiger!"

Tut Tut vs The Brute

Tut Tut The Brute
TutTut
Brute
Votes for Tut Tut
  1. A tough one here, since Brute could simply avoid Tut Tut's axe due to its small size being harder to hit. I just wonder though whether Tut Tut's sloped sides will make it difficult for Brute to even push it. A tentative vote to Tut Tut for when it does land the hits, it could cause some damage. CrashBash (talk) 14:02, October 9, 2018 (UTC)
  2. Tough call. I say Tut Tut's loped sides may prove difficult and therefore Brute will have a hard time fighting it. No only that the axe can and will causing issues if given opportunity (look at the wheels and flat armour) Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 14:20, October 9, 2018 (UTC)
  3. Great little fight this! I'm going to edge towards Tut Tut, call it a 55-45 because I was originally writing a vote for The Brute - Tut Tut never fighting any robots with real damage output could lead to its defence becoming overrated, it is still a loanerbot after all. Still, Tut Tut put enough holes in Rosie the Riveter 2 and Probophobia (under a different driver, granted) to suggest it will spike The Brute and claim victory. TOAST 15:17, October 9, 2018 (UTC)
  4. While it might be difficult for the axe to hit, I'm sure it can still get a few hits in here and there. BizarroKing (talk) 21:49, October 9, 2018 (UTC)
  5. And we are guaranteed at least one different semi-finalist. Hogwild94 (talk) 22:11, October 9, 2018 (UTC)
  6. Close, but I feel that Tut Tut's design may cause The Brute to become beached on it, enabling Tut Tut to push its opponent around. Alternatively, a hit on the tyres would compromise The Brute's mobility. Either way, Tut Tut should pick up the victory. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 18:42, October 10, 2018 (UTC)

  1. This is another battle I expect Bot-Ugly to run inverted to give its clamp the best chance of hitting something, but of these four, not only does General Chompsalot come across as having the most effective weapon (despite also being by far the weakest, aside from maybe Sobek), it's just overall the more reliable.
