Welkom terug bij Nederlandse Serie 3. After an epic main competition, which saw Tough As Nails overcome Krab-Bot in a hard fought Grand Final, while not continue the fun with some special events! The first of which consists of a six robot Annihilator, the first in the Dutch series! These six robots not only are left hungry for more following an early exit from the main competition, they also boast excellent durability. Perfect then, for an Annihilator, where only the fittest survive! So, LAAT DE OORLOGEN BEGINNEN!

  1. One thing that Dutch Robot Wars has going for it is that it has a large number of durable machines. Indeed, at least four robots here I believe would survive multiple to the end. Therefore, my vote is for one of the few that probably will not last long here, Impact. Good collisions from each machine, before Impact is flipped over by Hammerhead 2 and left unable to self-right. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 11:47, March 30, 2020 (UTC)
  2. It's always possible for a weak robot to survive far into an annihilator competition alongside far more durable competitors. But then you have examples like Thor's Hammer in the second US annihilator that just die in one hit before anyone else gets the chance to be eliminated. I'm not saying Impact will die in one hit, but I feel it's more likely to die before anyone else will. CrashBash (talk) 11:51, March 30, 2020 (UTC)
  3. Almost all the robots here are capable of surviving and dishing out damage, all but one...this one. The fact that even the team didn't seem too impressed with Impact 2 and honestly, it really sticks out as the weakest link. The one that'll be axed, spiked and bashed to death.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 12:00, March 30, 2020 (UTC)
  4. Impact just looks the most vulnerable to the other machines, and like it'd be able to do the least. Combatwombat555 (talk) 12:22, March 30, 2020 (UTC)
  5. Impact will die after the first...impact!!! Jimlaad43(talk) 12:30, March 30, 2020 (UTC)
  6. I’m sure Jeroen himself would gladly admit Impact 2 is most at risk. TOAST 13:21, March 30, 2020 (UTC)
  7. As interesting as the concept behind Impact 2 was, I can understand why van Lieverloo declined to qualify for Series 7 with it. In its partly-completed form, it already has a lot of weak spots (particularly the wheels and link), and suffice to say it won't take long for those to be exploited. VulcansHowl 13:58, March 30, 2020 (UTC)
  8. Impact is definitely the weakest link here, and this will show, as it won't last at all in this first round, axed, rammed, it will definitely go here. Adster1005 16:33, March 30, 2020 (UTC)
  9. Yeah, Impact looks very much like the obvious target for all the opponents. Hogwild94 (talk) 17:31, March 30, 2020 (UTC)

  1. Now that Impact is out of the way, things get really interesting. There's no way of really knowing who will go out in any given round, and whilst I have my suspicions on who might be the favourite to win, even I'm not confident with that. I'm not even too confident with my vote here - however, I do feel that Hammerhead 2's exposed wheels, easy-to-tangle frame and not-exactly-easy-to-aim flipper may let it down here. 1. You know what? I'm gonna say something unprecedented, something that hasn't happened since Series 4, and even then, it shouldn't have. I'm gonna say that Round 2 goes to the Judges! All of these machines are quite reliable, and only NEATer Machine can actively be KO'ed via an opponent's weapon, but even then I don't think Hammerhead 2 will flip it, nor are the wheels in huge danger. In fact, should this make it to the Judges, NEATer becomes the key player as it can inflict the most damaging and aggressive attacks, particularly to Lizzard which it has hurt previously. We saw how much Stinger struggled in the Annihilator setting, and I think the same applies for Lizzard, who will earn the least points. TOAST 20:28, March 31, 2020 (UTC)

Votes for NEATer Machine
  1. For me, this was between Hammerhead 2 and NEATer Machine. The others currently are more secure, and thus less vulnerable to each other's weapons as these two. Hammerhead 2's wheels are by far the biggest hitbox for NEATer Machine to target, where just one blow will surely cost it dearly in terms of reduced mobility. However, I have to eliminate NEATer Machine, because its exposed wheels are perfect for being hit by Lizzard's tail, plus the additional damage that Trazmaniac and Alien Destructor 2 will probably cause. In addition, Hammerhead 2 can always flip NEATer Machine, and the horn-blowing machine's srimech might not be the most effective at righting the machine for all we know. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 19:19, March 31, 2020 (UTC)
  2. There isn't really an obvious pushover anymore, which makes this tricky, so I've decided to focus on which crucial component looks like the most vulnerable. As such, I have gone for NEATer's wheels, which could be popped by Alien Destructor's spike or Trazmaniac's drum. That's the only thing I can see being obviously a KO so it'll have to do as reasoning for now. Jimlaad43(talk) 19:31, March 31, 2020 (UTC)
  3. The next to go logically is NEAT Machine, or at least I believe it so. It has vulnerable tires, poor reliability and can be flipped over...all things the other robots are fully capable of using against NEATer.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 19:41, March 31, 2020 (UTC)
  4. This is hard now, as there is no definite weak link. I think NEATer's wheels, as Jim says, look most vulnerable. Trazmaniac can attack with the drum, Lizzard can smack it, Alien Destructor 2 can spike the tyres, and Hammerhead 2 might even be able to flip it. So sadly, I think NEATer's going. Adster1005 20:00, March 31, 2020 (UTC)
  5. NEATer has all the exposed bits for the others to gang up on, it'll be forced into submission eventually. Hogwild94 (talk) 20:57, March 31, 2020 (UTC)
  6. Technically speaking, every robot in this round has exposed tyres, and out of all of them NEATer Machine and Alien Destructor look to be the ones which can exploit that weakness the most. I can get behind Toast's reasoning for eliminating Lizzard, but it should be mentioned that Lizzard was just as capable of pushing and ramming Neater back in Dutch Series 2, which might have played a major part in its Jury's decision victory that time. There's a better chance of NEATer Machine losing out here on aggression if Lizzard and the others take turns to ram it, and Lizzard, Trazmaniac and Hammerhead 2 all use their active weapons to cause problems of any kind. 1. I'll put a vote here for Alien Destructor. It's spike seems like it'll be the least useful now, as there's not really anything it can attack properly. Trazmaniac's drum would chip bits off the end, so it'll void that. Really, the scaffolding at the side of Hammerhead is about the only thing I can see it being able to try to attack, and even then it could just get stuck in there, leaving it vulnerable for the others to come in and attack the back of Alien Destructor. Hammerhead just needs to flip it once and it'll lose any points it got for that aggressive attack. Jimlaad43(talk) 13:22, April 2, 2020 (UTC)

  1. Still sticking with my vote against Hammerhead. Its hammers provide quite a few places for the others to catch (and I see at least Alien Destructor catching them), and its weapon feels less effective than the others. CrashBash (talk) 12:40, April 2, 2020 (UTC)
  2. In addition to the points SpaceManiac made, I'd say that Trazmaniac's front spinner could also get clogged in fur should it try and attack Lizzard's tail at some point. There is a glimmer of hope for it and Alien Destructor, however, in that their drill and spike weapons could still spear through Hammerhead 2's rear framework. Hammerhead 2 spent a majority of its Series 7 melee charging at opponents with its unarmed front, which opens ample opportunities for either of them to ram and pop the tyres while it is distracted. Regardless of whether Hammerhead 2 pulls off the flip it needs to edge out on aggression, the damage inflicted will put it at a significant disadvantage if it gets ganged up on in return and/or survives to the Jury. 1. This is really tricky! I'm gonna use what Toast mentioned last round and say that the "sit and spin" tactic of Lizzard will be it undoing, failing to make an impact, get scooped up and attacked with no real form of fighting back.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 12:49, April 2, 2020 (UTC)
Do remember that Lizzard also has a spinning disc. CrashBash (talk) 13:53, April 2, 2020 (UTC)
  2. A cutting disc Lizzard did have, but a useful one it did not. Same reasons as the previous round. TOAST 22:05, April 2, 2020 (UTC)
  3. Agree with this group. Lizzard's attacks are very lowkey normally, so in a bigger environment against weapons and machines capable of making better visual impacts on the Judges, I can see it struggling. NJGW (talk) 01:37, April 3, 2020 (UTC)

  1. Now this is where things begin to get hard. For starters, all four robots are very reliable, so I am expecting all remaining rounds to end in a Jury's decision. And secondly, all four are effective rammers and pushers, meaning design alone may make or break one's journey here. For that reason, I am forced to eliminate Trazmaniac. With Hammerhead 2, not only is it safer thanks to the elimination of NEATer Machine, its flipper will score highly in both aggression and style. Lizzard's sit-and-spin technique will probably be effective in much the same way. And of the remaining two competitors, I suspect Alien Destructor 2's raw pushing power will exceed any damage Trazmaniac can do in return. Henceforth, Trazmaniac to survive quite nicely, but ultimately will lack the aggression needed to carry on in this tournament. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 12:16, April 2, 2020 (UTC)
  2. Damn, this is a really strong annihilator, but I think Trazmaniac is more susceptible to being lifted up by Hammerhead 2, as Lizzard and Alien Destructor 2 are a bit bulkier. Lizzard's wheels are a bit more safer than the other two from Alien Destructor, which may get some damage on the other three. Lizzard can spin around and rack some damage and aggression up, but might lose on a bit control. Alien Destructor might not get as many damage points, but makes up for it on control and aggression. Hammerhead 2 will get good aggression, a few damage, and some style and control points, and Trazmaniac will get a bit less damage, some good aggression, decent control and style, but I think the other three will just edge it on a Jury decision. 1. Hammerhead still feels vulnerable to me, especially with Alien Destructor around. CrashBash (talk) 21:39, April 3, 2020 (UTC)
  2. Yup, it may be the only one with a weapon capable of affecting the match noticeably, but if it fails to bring it into play then that reflects badly on Hammerhead 2. I think it will fall behind. TOAST 22:22, April 3, 2020 (UTC)
  3. Should Hammerhead 2 attack either of its opponents here, the other can just simply carry out the attacks I mentioned last round. I must admit there is more room for it to land a crucial flip, but considering how unreliable and fragile the flipper proved at various points in DS2 and UK7, I'm not too optimistic about Hammerhead 2's chances at this stage. 1. Going to narrowly stick with my Trazmaniac vote. I did initially consider the possibility of Hammerhead 2 being outpushed by its two foes, but ultimately, Trazmaniac's pushing just wasn't as good as I was expecting. Henceforth, I again think it will do the least here. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 21:33, April 3, 2020 (UTC)
  2. Trazmaniac the weak link here I fear; its weapon will be largely ineffective, and its up against a solid pusher that can bully it into submission. Hogwild94 (talk) 21:56, April 3, 2020 (UTC)
  3. Hammerhead is still the only one with a weapons that will be able to affect the opponents in some way, even if they're invertible. Alien Destructor will be the most mobile and aggressive, and should have learned not to get tangled in the scaffolding around Hammerhead's wheels. TOugh and close, but Trazzy for doing the least. Jimlaad43(talk) 22:12, April 3, 2020 (UTC)
  4. I'll stick with my Round 3 vote, just take away Lizzard's contributions, but either way, I think Trazmaniac will lose the Jury decision. Adster1005 22:24, April 3, 2020 (UTC)

  1. I'm going for Alien Destructor. There's a lot of area of push and ram against with Hammerhead 2. NJGW (talk) 12:14, April 5, 2020 (UTC)
  2. Rewatching Alien Destructor's loss to Krab-Bot again, I don't think this is going to be a clear-cut Hammerhead 2 victory as the majority are making it out to be. Yes, Krab-Bot proved more aggressive throughout, but it had the advantage of having a set of weapons which could pinch, lift and control Alien Destructor for sustained portions of the fight. Hammerhead 2 does not quite have the same advantage, its flipper being potent, but narrower and seemingly temperamental judging by the footage available of it in action. Alien Destructor also had a few moments where it pushed Krab-Bot towards danger, and could very well take advantage of Hammerhead 2's weapon issues if it can spear the frames and push it around more often. Chaos 2 vs Tornado from the Extreme 1 All-Stars showed that a handful of flips would not be enough to get the Judges' decision against a consistently aggressive rammer. If the tyres aren't popped, Hammerhead 2 could very well struggle to dominate by the time the Jury is called in, regardless of how many flips it gets. VulcansHowl 18:06, April 5, 2020 (UTC)
  3. Both robots will likely be equal on aggression, I suspect, though, Alien Destructor will cause sufficient minor damage with its spike to scrape this one. Hogwild94 (talk) 18:18, April 5, 2020 (UTC)
  4. I've been voting against Hammerhead pretty much this entire competition...and I guess that ain't changing here. Those hammers still look like they'd be the perfect leverage point for Alien Destructor to push, thus avoiding the big weapon. CrashBash (talk) 20:11, April 5, 2020 (UTC)

  1. Watching Wrestlemania while updating this, gosh is the show so soulless without fans. Wonder how Robot Wars would be like without any live audience? Anyhow, a quite interesting final battle. On the one hand, perhaps the most notable aspect here is Hammerhead 2's tyres can be burst by Alien Destructor 2's spike. But on the other hand, with no other opponents to worry about now, Hammerhead 2 can focus its efforts entirely on its final foe. To be fair, Hammerhead 2 was not the worst pusher in the world, and so it can always tackle Alien Destructor 2 head-on, or even outmatch it by attacking the vulnerable sides. And even though Hammerhead 2's tyres are exposed, with no other opponents as I have mentioned earlier, it should have better control to direct its flipper properly, thus being able to lift Alien Destructor 2 away from it and scoring highly in aggression. Ultimately, I do not think Alien Destructor 2 can achieve a critical hit, enabling Hammerhead 2 to win on a Jury's decision. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 10:08, April 5, 2020 (UTC)
Maybe they should have done a virtual one like they did with the Grand National. CrashBash (talk) 10:31, April 5, 2020 (UTC)
Considering the "abusive and controlling" production staff behind Wrestlemania (and most other wresting organisations), it wouldn't be a surprise if they were forced to do it just for profit.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 11:01, April 5, 2020 (UTC)
@CrashBash Chances are, they'd probably regret it. xD VulcansHowl 18:06, April 5, 2020 (UTC)
  2. Yeah, Hammerhead 2 hasn't got to focus on taking out another machine or scoring more points than another. It simply can just go straight on the aggressive and push Alien Destructor around the arena. Alien Destructor might be able to jab the spike, potentially into a tyre or through a gap at least, but I'm not sure this will be fatal enough for Hammerhead 2. The lifter can lift Alien Destructor, thus giving both aggression points, but I think Hammerhead 2 will have done enough across style and control in order to take the Jury's decision. Adster1005 10:14, April 5, 2020 (UTC)
  3. Alien Destructor sort of sneaked its way through but as we seen in the battles, it would appear for a rambot that Alien Destructor wasn't good at being...rammed. It abused and controlled itself, Alien Destructor really struggles to do anything offensive and its defensive is pretty poor. So yeah, a win for Hammerhead 2.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 11:01, April 5, 2020 (UTC)
  4. All the signs point to a Hammerhead victory. If it can get the flipper into play it'll keep scoring points, really useful if it goes to the jury. Jimlaad43(talk) 12:18, April 5, 2020 (UTC)
