Welkom terug bij Nederlandse Serie 3. After an epic main competition, which saw Tough As Nails overcome Krab-Bot in a hard fought Grand Final, while not continue the fun with some special events! The first of which consists of a six robot Annihilator, the first in the Dutch series! These six robots not only are left hungry for more following an early exit from the main competition, they also boast excellent durability. Perfect then, for an Annihilator, where only the fittest survive! So, LAAT DE OORLOGEN BEGINNEN!

#One thing that Dutch Robot Wars has going for it is that it has a large number of durable machines. Indeed, at least four robots here I believe would survive multiple to the end. Therefore, my vote is for one of the few that probably will not last long here, Impact. Good collisions from each machine, before Impact is flipped over by Hammerhead 2 and left unable to self-right. #It's always possible for a weak robot to survive far into an annihilator competition alongside far more durable competitors. But then you have examples like Thor's Hammer in the second US annihilator that just die in one hit before anyone else gets the chance to be eliminated. #Almost all the robots here are capable of surviving and dishing out damage, all but one...this one. The fact that even the team didn't seem too impressed with Impact 2 and honestly, it really sticks out as the weakest link. #You know what? I'm gonna say something unprecedented, something that hasn't happened since Series 4, and even then, it shouldn't have. I'm gonna say that Round 2 ''goes to the Judges!'' All of these machines are quite reliable, and only NEATer Machine can actively be KO'ed via an opponent's weapon, but even then I don't think Hammerhead 2 will flip it, nor are the wheels in huge danger. In fact, should this make it to the Judges, NEATer becomes the key player as it can inflict the most damaging and aggressive attacks, particularly to Lizzard which it has hurt previously. #For me, this was between Hammerhead 2 and NEATer Machine. The others currently are more secure, and thus less vulnerable to each other's weapons as these two. Hammerhead 2's wheels are by far the biggest hitbox for NEATer Machine to target, where just one blow will surely cost it dearly in terms of reduced mobility. However, I have to eliminate NEATer Machine, because its exposed wheels are perfect for being hit by Lizzard's tail, plus the additional damage that Trazmaniac and Alien Destructor 2 will probably cause. In addition, Hammerhead 2 can always flip NEATer Machine, and the horn-blowing machine's srimech might not be the most effective at righting the machine for all we know. #There isn't really an obvious pushover anymore, which makes this tricky, so I've decided to focus on which crucial component looks like the most vulnerable. As such, I have gone for NEATer's wheels, which could be popped by Alien Destructor's spike or Trazmaniac's drum. That's the only thing I can see being obviously a KO so it'll have to do as reasoning for now. #Technically speaking, every robot in this round has exposed tyres, and out of all of them NEATer Machine and Alien Destructor look to be the ones which can exploit that weakness the most. I can get behind Toast's reasoning for eliminating Lizzard, but it should be mentioned that Lizzard was just as capable of pushing and ramming Neater back in Dutch Series 2, which might have played a major part in its Jury's decision victory that time. There's a better chance of NEATer Machine losing out here on aggression if Lizzard and the others take turns to ram it, and Lizzard, Trazmaniac and Hammerhead 2 all use their active weapons to cause problems of any kind. #I'll put a vote here for Alien Destructor. It's spike seems like it'll be the least useful now, as there's not really anything it can attack properly. Trazmaniac's drum would chip bits off the end, so it'll void that. Really, the scaffolding at the side of Hammerhead is about the only thing I can see it being able to try to attack, and even then it could just get stuck in there, leaving it vulnerable for the others to come in and attack the back of Alien Destructor. Hammerhead just needs to flip it once and it'll lose any points it got for that aggressive attack. #In addition to the points SpaceManiac made, I'd say that Trazmaniac's front spinner could also get clogged in fur should it try and attack Lizzard's tail at some point. There is a glimmer of hope for it and Alien Destructor, however, in that their drill and spike weapons could still spear through Hammerhead 2's rear framework. Hammerhead 2 spent a majority of its Series 7 melee charging at opponents with its unarmed front, which opens ample opportunities for either of them to ram and pop the tyres while it is distracted. Regardless of whether Hammerhead 2 pulls off the flip it needs to edge out on aggression, the damage inflicted will put it at a significant disadvantage if it gets ganged up on in return and/or survives to the Jury. #Now this is where things begin to get hard. For starters, all four robots are very reliable, so I am expecting all remaining rounds to end in a Jury's decision. And secondly, all four are effective rammers and pushers, meaning design alone may make or break one's journey here. For that reason, I am forced to eliminate Trazmaniac. With Hammerhead 2, not only is it safer thanks to the elimination of NEATer Machine, its flipper will score highly in both aggression and style. Lizzard's sit-and-spin technique will probably be effective in much the same way. And of the remaining two competitors, I suspect Alien Destructor 2's raw pushing power will exceed any damage Trazmaniac can do in return. Henceforth, Trazmaniac to survive quite nicely, but ultimately will lack the aggression needed to carry on in this tournament. #Rewatching Alien Destructor's loss to Krab-Bot again, I don't think this is going to be a clear-cut Hammerhead 2 victory as the majority are making it out to be. Yes, Krab-Bot proved more aggressive throughout, but it had the advantage of having a set of weapons which could pinch, lift and control Alien Destructor for sustained portions of the fight. Hammerhead 2 does not quite have the same advantage, its flipper being potent, but narrower and seemingly temperamental judging by the footage available of it in action. Alien Destructor also had a few moments where it pushed Krab-Bot towards danger, and could very well take advantage of Hammerhead 2's weapon issues if it can spear the frames and push it around more often. Chaos 2 vs Tornado from the Extreme 1 All-Stars showed that a handful of flips would not be enough to get the Judges' decision against a consistently aggressive rammer. If the tyres aren't popped, Hammerhead 2 could very well struggle to dominate by the time the Jury is called in, regardless of how many flips it gets. #Watching Wrestlemania while updating this, gosh is the show so soulless without fans. Wonder how Robot Wars would be like without any live audience? Anyhow, a quite interesting final battle. On the one hand, perhaps the most notable aspect here is Hammerhead 2's tyres can be burst by Alien Destructor 2's spike. But on the other hand, with no other opponents to worry about now, Hammerhead 2 can focus its efforts entirely on its final foe. To be fair, Hammerhead 2 was not the worst pusher in the world, and so it can always tackle Alien Destructor 2 head-on, or even outmatch it by attacking the vulnerable sides. And even though Hammerhead 2's tyres are exposed, with no other opponents as I have mentioned earlier, it should have better control to direct its flipper properly, thus being able to lift Alien Destructor 2 away from it and scoring highly in aggression. Ultimately, I do not think Alien Destructor 2 can achieve a critical hit, enabling Hammerhead 2 to win on a Jury's decision. #Alien Destructor sort of sneaked its way through but as we seen in the battles, it would appear for a rambot that Alien Destructor wasn't good at being...rammed. It abused and controlled itself, Alien Destructor really struggles to do anything offensive and its defensive is pretty poor.
