Welkom bij Dutch Series 3. Last series, we saw PulverizeR win a hard fought Grand Final against Philipper 2 to claim the title! Earning a championship is tough, but holding onto it is even more difficult, considering the quality of robots looking to topple the spinner from its throne! So, LAAT DE OORLOGEN BEGINNEN!

Round 1

  1. Yes, I know Rob Kamphues doesn't actually shout "LET THE WARS BEGIN" in Dutch, but it does make me curious as to what he exclaims during his introductions. Going to ask some of my Dutch friends about this. Anyhow, seeing as there was support for Impact 2, which we know little about, I decided it would be fair to give The Black Beast its DRG sequel too. After all, both it and Impact were ruined by Twister, so hopefully you can see the logic here. And if you don't, well, I am not sure it is going to matter too much. Das Gepäck seems more than capable of directing itself at The Black Beast's long sides, pushing it around and slamming it into anything it can find. Pretty sure the axe won't particularly trouble the flat top of Das Gepäck. In addition, The Luggage can target the exposed wheels and cause some minor damage with its spikes. Ultimately, Das Gepäck will be too aggressive, winning on a Judges' decision on all factors. Remember that damage > aggression in this tournament!! 2. Yeah, pretty much gonna get rammed to death, wouldn't be surprised if the pressure manages to knock it out.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 17:54, February 19, 2020 (UTC)
  3. Das Gepäck can ram and push it's way to a victory here, the long sides will be easy to push into, and it might be rammed, causing little damage. Das Gepäck could push to the House Robots for them to damage. Adster1005 18:04, February 19, 2020 (UTC)
  4. The new version of Black Beast looks cool, but I really don't see it troubling Das Gepack. It has quite broad looking sides that would be very easy to push. CrashBash (talk) 18:12, February 19, 2020 (UTC)
  5. Yeah, New Black Beast looks like a decent enough axe, but not good enough to cause sufficient damage to outweigh Das Gepack's better aggression, control and style. Hogwild94 (talk) 18:41, February 19, 2020 (UTC)

Sater 2 vs Spike

Votes for Sater 2
  1. We could probably get a better image of the complete Sater 2 thanks to the battles Toast uploaded. Based on the two battles, Sater 2 appears to be a solid if unspectucular flipper, troubling Das Gepäck at times. In contrast, Spike's axe appears to be more powerful, but it suffers from JAR-itis where it was too damn powerful for its own good. I see the rather intelligent Sater 2 dodging Spike's inaccurate axe and simply lifting its opponent over. Considering how much gas seemed to leak from Spike, I would not be surprised to see it unable to self-right sooner rather than later. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 17:52, February 19, 2020 (UTC)
  2. I am rather disappointed in Sater 2's speed, it did seem ponderous. But then again, Spike was a robot that did not seem accurate nor did it seem too reliable based on what I've depicted. Although, to give Spike credit, it was armoured well even if it's only success was coming runners up in the 2006 Roaming Robots annihilator. I feel the battle may be won by the better pushing and flips from Sater 2 overall.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 18:06, February 19, 2020 (UTC)
  3. Sater 2 will be more suited to pushing Spike around, and I think Spike might not be able to self-right after being repeatedly flipped. Adster1005 18:07, February 19, 2020 (UTC)
  4. I have actually seen Spike in action, personally, and whilst its axe certainly is powerful, its overall performance was not really as impressive as this would suggest. Sater's flipper may not be spectacular (and there's no way it's self-righting, surely), but it should be able to boss Spike around with little hassle. CrashBash (talk) 18:14, February 19, 2020 (UTC)
Aside from the battles online, which other robots did Spike face in combat? I am assuming that although it was better than Tyke, it didn't really do that well. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 19:25, February 19, 2020 (UTC)
Well, I saw it in a five robot melee alongside Ripper, Ka-Pow! and Mighty Mouse. I forget who the last robot was, but I seem to recall Ripper pretty much bossed Spike around - and this was Series 7 era Ripper, with its "paper-thin" armour. CrashBash (talk) 19:44, February 19, 2020 (UTC)
It also fought against Dantomkia which it lost against in the Roaming Robots annihilator.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 19:54, February 19, 2020 (UTC)
  5. Yeah, I'll got with that. If it's careful, Sater could probably sidestrand Spike. Hogwild94 (talk) 18:42, February 19, 2020 (UTC)
OK, maybe not sidestrand, but certainly flip better than Spike can axe. Hogwild94 (talk) 18:43, February 19, 2020 (UTC)

Twisted Metal Evo vs Trazmaniac

Votes for Twisted Metal Evo
  1. Pretty tricky one this, but I am narrowly backing Twisted Metal Evo. The spinner was eliminated by Krab-Bot because it was outpushed, ultimately leading to attacks that damaged its disc and ensured the South African machine would dominate the rest of the battle. I was going to say that Trazmaniac has the pushing power needed to ruin Twisted Metal Evo's disc, but upon rewatching its battles, I was somewhat disappointed. OK, Tartarus and Philipper 2 are awkward shapes to push, but I was still expecting something more from Trazmaniac. From what I could see, it was plucky and it never gave up, giving its Belgian opponent an almighty scare. But there was nothing that suggest it could really push or entangle an opponent like Twisted Metal Evo, which is required to stand any chance of beating the spinner. Additionally, Twisted Metal Evo could probably take out Trazmaniac's somewhat vulnerable drum, while also causing decent damage to its opponent's armour. A Judges' decision, but ultimately one where Trazmaniac simply won't cause enough damage and aggression to seal the nod of approval. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 17:52, February 19, 2020 (UTC)
  2. Whilst Twisted Metal is indeed quite powerful, the issue I have is that its disc did seem to be quite flimsy on some occasions, as in the disc tended to stop after an impact. Sure it span up again it just seemed to stop every so often. Trazmaniac could win this if it had a slightly better drum spinner, but I fear a hit could conk it out and the possible other damage caused will sway this.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 18:01, February 19, 2020 (UTC)
  3. I'm largely going on the basis that Twisted Metal looks like it would do more to Trazmaniac's body if it hits with the weapon than vise-versa. CrashBash (talk) 18:15, February 19, 2020 (UTC)
  4. Twisted Metal Evo could take out the drum and then do damage to the sides, and Trazmaniac would then push it's way to earn points. On a Jury's decision, I believe that Twisted Metal Evo would just take it, as damage is worth more than aggression (thanks for the reminder Space). Adster1005 18:18, February 19, 2020 (UTC)
  5. Better spinner wins. Hogwild94 (talk) 18:43, February 19, 2020 (UTC)
