Here at Robot Wars Extreme, we're not concerned about tickle-fights at ten paces. We only desire the best fights, the stuff of legends. Which is why, in the arena today, we have just the tournament for you lucky people. It's the Legends Tournament. The robots competing here are, indeed, legendary, well known after many years. They know exactly what they need to do to win, but do they still have what it takes? We'll soon see...

Round 1

Storm 2 vs Tough as Nails vs Razer

Storm 2 Tough as Nails Razer
Storm2
Tan2016
Razer 2016
Votes for Storm 2 Votes for Tough as Nails
  1. Poor Tough as Nails, a control-bot stuck against two robots it literally can't control. CrashBash (talk) 05:15, May 24, 2017 (UTC)
  2. Rammed by Storm2 and crushed by Razer, not a nice combo here...Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 05:57, May 24, 2017 (UTC)
  3. TAN is a great shape to be pushed by Storm 2, and a great shape to be grabbed by Razer, a combination that spells trouble for the Dutch. Jimlaad43(talk) 07:55, May 24, 2017 (UTC)
  4. Double Dutch, as TAN is buffeted about by Storm2 and then nibbled by Razer. S256 08:19, May 24, 2017 (UTC)
  5. I don't doubt the idea of Storm2 using its spinning disc to attack Razer, but that won't be enough to defeat Razer, will it? Faced with two robots it can do nothing against, TAN would lose via the Judges, or maybe a pitting. TOAST 08:37, May 24, 2017 (UTC)
  6. Regardless of which weapon Storm 2 uses, I feel that Tough as Nails will be overwhelmed here. If anything, I can see Storm 2 ripping the wheels off with the disc, or it and Razer teaming up to push and drag Tough as Nails around wherever they wish, a la Thor and Shockwave. It's not as if it's the first time that Storm 2 has a chance to blow Tough as Nails out of the water, either... VulcansHowl 10:52, May 24, 2017 (UTC)
  7. Razer is a terrible shape for Tough as Nails to grab hold of, and we know its vulnerable to Storm 2, so it falls here alas. Hogwild94 (talk) 17:27, May 24, 2017 (UTC)
  8. Nothing to add- I'm not sure Storm2 would risk the disc in the chaos of a melee, but it'd beat TaN either way, and there's some tasty components around the back of TaN for Razer to nibble at. TaN can do very little in response to either here. Combatwombat555 (talk) 21:50, May 24, 2017 (UTC)
  9. Even if Tough As Nails does grab Razer, it'll most likely be from the front, allowing Razer to crush into the back of Tough As Nails... from the front. I see Storm 2 equipping the disc for this fight, and they can cause damage to both other machines with that. Raz3r(talk) 08:37, May 25, 2017 (UTC)
Votes for Razer
  1. Think I will vote out Razer here. To be honest, Storm 2's lack of power may actually hinder it against Tough as Nails, so instead of equipping the scoop, the team will instead fit the disc. I feel this would make more sense, since both of its opponents BROUGHT WHEELS INTO THE ARENA, so I believe that a good couple of hits on one of its opponents should be enough for it to qualify. The question, though, is which robot? Despite having bigger wheels, I feel Tough as Nails could defend itself by using its front to deflect attacks away from the wheels. Razer, meanwhile does have speed, but I am concerned that unless it brings that anti-spinner wedge (which I am believing it cannot, due to slowing turning speeds), it will have trouble avoiding that disc for long. Eventually, a couple of blows should knockout Razer. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 07:12, May 24, 2017 (UTC)
  2. Storm 2 beats either, but who do they go for? Toon Ganondorf (t c) 08:22, May 24, 2017 (UTC)
  3. With Tough as Nails knowing that it'll struggle to contain Storm2 (albeit, this time in a slower form), it'll go after Razer, which can be grabbed onto at different angles. Tough as Nails will continue to target Razer, and even if it doesn't Pit it itself, Storm2 will end the battle by helping angle Tough as Nails towards the Pit to drop Razer in. Tough as Nails? Maybe if they were plastic nails. They go out!

King B Remix vs Dantomkia vs Thermidor 2

King B Remix Dantomkia Thermidor 2

Dantomkia 2016
Thermidor 2
Votes for King B Remix
  1. In its brief time in the arena we did see that Thermidor could move and also flip, so I'm voting King B out because I can see it being flipped by the two over and over again.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 05:59, May 24, 2017 (UTC)
  2. King B to be thrown out. Jimlaad43(talk) 07:54, May 24, 2017 (UTC)
  3. King B's a nice boxy shape, nobody's going to have any difficulty flipping the living daylights out of it. S256 08:19, May 24, 2017 (UTC)
  4. Instead of risking exposing itself to a King B attack while trying to get into position to flip Thermidor 2, Dantomkia will probably just go for the easy option and attack King B from the off, as it knows it won't need to out-wedge it. Whether King B Remix breaks after a few strong flips, or it goes to a Judges' decision, I just can't see this being anything other than a King B loss. Nweston8 (talk) 14:21, May 24, 2017 (UTC)
  5. Funny, I recently voted to knock out King B over Thermidor 2 in a melee in my Audited Series 6. The ground clearance on King B simply isn't good enough when fighting against two flippers we know are capable of packing a punch. Raz3r(talk) 08:40, May 25, 2017 (UTC)
Votes for Dantomkia Votes for Thermidor 2
  1. No doubt Dantomkia is through, but I actually think King B Remix could qualify too. We have seen before that Thermidor 2 has struggled against other flippers before, and I am fairly certain that Dantomkia has the lower ground clearance needed to get underneath the lobster. Meanwhile, although King B Remix will be flipped a couple of times, I can see it being agile enough to avoid Thermidor 2's narrow flipper and attack the rather unreliable wheels, causing some damage with the drills. Eventually, I can see the unreliable lobster breaking down. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 07:12, May 24, 2017 (UTC)
  2. King B can't win, but Thermidor can lose. Much more likely given what's we've seen - without a heavy spinner King B only needs to outlast Thermidor. Toon Ganondorf (t c) 08:22, May 24, 2017 (UTC)
  3. There won't be an OotA, and King B seems to have a knack for surviving alongside Dantomkia. If any of these robots is likely to losr within the three minutes, it's Thermidor II. Undoubtedly the weaker melee despite this group technically finding more success within Series 8. TOAST 08:35, May 24, 2017 (UTC)
  4. To be fair to Thermidor 2, its run in Series 8 was mainly cut short by Ironside3's bar knocking one of its wheels out early on, so I can see it being much more aggressive here than it was back then. However, that is no consolation when you consider the fact that both King B AND Dantomkia have forks/ramming wedges which could spear the wheels and damage them in some way. This, combined with Dantomkia's more effective shape and King B Remix's conservative approach to Group Battles, could see Thermidor 2 being thrown around, rammed and immobilised yet again. VulcansHowl 10:52, May 24, 2017 (UTC)
  5. Thermidor broke down under mild pressure, while King B kept going for the most part, so I'm afraid I must vote Thermidor out here. Hogwild94 (talk) 17:29, May 24, 2017 (UTC)
To be fair, I wouldn't call King B Remix conking out due to mild flips from TR2 and its link falling out against Big Nipper as a sign of durability. At least Thermidor 2 had its wheel crippled. Nweston8 (talk) 21:26, May 24, 2017 (UTC)
  6. Y'know, looking back in retrospect, I really didn't have a good reason for voting against King B. My vote seemed to talk about more Thermidor being knocked out (due to it simply not aging too well, how quickly it got knocked out, how unreliable it was) as opposed to King B (the other two have better weapons). I wasn't too happy with it, so I'm changing my vote. CrashBash (talk) 09:49, May 25, 2017 (UTC)

Thermidor 2 is broiled and goes out of the competition

Round 2

Storm 2 vs King B Remix

Storm 2 King B Remix
Storm2

Votes for Storm 2
  1. Y'know, if Storm 2 goes into the arena with any of its lifters, this could actually be a close battle. Storm 2's ground clearance means it gets under King B everytime, but King B's faster speed means it can get around the side and make some quite aggressive charges. At the end of the day, though, I'd still back Storm 2 because it'll constantly be moving towards King B, never giving it a chance to breathe, and pressure it into a house robot. In the end, it'd probably win the judges. Of course, if it uses its disc, it could probably knock it out ala Big Nipper and save us a lot of hassle. CrashBash (talk) 05:02, May 26, 2017 (UTC)
  2. Assuming Big Nipper's fight with King B Remix still exists, I'm sure Team Storm will be inspired enough to use it. Even with the lifters though, what can King B do without a weapon other than lifting drills? TOAST 05:12, May 26, 2017 (UTC)
  3. Regardless of weapon used, Storm 2 should be able to defeat King B Remix without too many issues occurring. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 06:56, May 26, 2017 (UTC)
  4. Whereas King B flip flops everytime it hist an opponent, Storm2 is consistently on its case and will be dominating. Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 07:13, May 26, 2017 (UTC)
  5. King B has been beaten by 101. Storm is so much better than 101, so will take this easily. Jimlaad43(talk) 08:13, May 26, 2017 (UTC)
  6. Yeah, I back Storm2 to use the disc in this one, and then it's very clear-cut. Combatwombat555 (talk) 08:48, May 26, 2017 (UTC)
  7. Storm 2 to dethrone King B using its pushing power and/or disc. VulcansHowl 09:14, May 26, 2017 (UTC)
  8. I guess Storm2 will use the disc, the teeth onit look pretty beefy so the arena floor will probably get covered in "dandruff" again. S256 09:29, May 26, 2017 (UTC)

  1. How much have these two robots improved since their meeting in Series 6? Enough for Dantomkia to change the results? Not convinced enough has changed. CrashBash (talk) 05:02, May 26, 2017 (UTC)
  2. Razer's nerfed wedge won't be a factor here, but the removal of Dantomkia's easy OotA's certainly hinders that. Shane Swan's reliance on the CPZ's won't be enough. TOAST 05:10, May 26, 2017 (UTC)
  3. Dantomkia's is not powerful enough to damage Razer's wings, nor is it agile enough to avoid the wedge and crusher. I suspect that Dantomkia will survive to the end, but it will be an easy victory for Razer. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 06:56, May 26, 2017 (UTC)
  4. Both have upgraded, Razer will still win, even if can't crush all the way through, it can still hold and dominate Dantomkia's movements with Dantomkia failing to get a proper flip.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 07:17, May 26, 2017 (UTC)
  5. The only criticism I have for Dantomkia is that it is inconsistent when it comes to beating ground clearances. With Razer's exceptional ground clearances, Dantomkia will struggle. Jimlaad43(talk) 08:15, May 26, 2017 (UTC)
  6. Happened, with an arguably better driver for Dantomkia last time, and I don't think Mike Lambert even flipped Razer. Largely the same again I think. Combatwombat555 (talk) 08:50, May 26, 2017 (UTC)
  7. Can't see Dantomkia's upgraded flipper making any difference to what should be a familiar outcome. Razer to grab, drag and push Dantomkia wherever it wants for a commanding win via the Judges. VulcansHowl 09:14, May 26, 2017 (UTC)
  8. What has changed on Dantomkia? Even if it can't pierce through the "treated military-style steel", Razer can still control the fight. S256 09:29, May 26, 2017 (UTC)
