Round 1[]

Warhog vs Sumpthing (Series 6)[]

Warhog Sumpthing (Series 6)
Warhog
Sumpthing
Votes for Warhog
  1. Pick your glass cannon I suppose. I'll lean towards Warhog because it is a proven damage-causer and it at least looks structurally stable, unlike Sumpthing. MattRobot WarsTalk to me 19:47, September 18, 2014 (UTC)
  2. For the first time ever, Warhog actually wins something! --GoldenFox93 (talk) 20:06, September 18, 2014 (UTC)
  3. "And there goes a whole wheel! A whole wheel has come off! What an attack...Oh, there goes the other one, well, why not!?" CrashBash (talk) 20:31, September 18, 2014 (UTC)
"So Sumpthing, what are you going to do now? Come on, back into the action...creep across the Arena floor!" --GoldenFox93 (talk) 00:31, September 19, 2014 (UTC)
  4. Two machines with a record of 1 win, 10 losses between them. Sumpthing was pretty fragile, thus Warhog's spinner can knock components loose. ManUCrazy (talk) 21:50, September 18, 2014 (UTC)
  5. Sadly a scrap bot is still a scrap bot so I feel as though Warhog, despite not being the most potent of spinners, will get the win here. BizarroKing (talk) 22:15, September 18, 2014 (UTC)
  6. Sumpthing's spikes will be very easy to break off, and the exposed tyres and other components do not help. Warhog is capable of winning this. ToastUltimatum 22:35, September 18, 2014 (UTC)
  7. Sumpthing conks itself out ppretty regularly. Warhog may have a crappy disc, but at least it moves. RA2; aka Resetti's Replicas. (My Talk) 23:11, September 18, 2014 (UTC)
  8. Both could break down inexplicably so I'm going to rule a break down out. Sumpthing has no answer to the power of the spinner. Jimlaad43(talk) 08:12, September 19, 2014 (UTC)
Votes for Sumpthing
  1. All Sumpthing needs to do is avoid Warhog until something breaks in the pig. I know I'm playing the reliability card but Sumpthing is the better bot here. Sam (BAZINGA) 21:40, September 18, 2014 (UTC)
In order for something to break, wouldn't Warhog need to actually HIT Sumpthing first? CrashBash (talk) 22:36, September 18, 2014 (UTC)
Sumpthing could sacrifice the front spikes then. I do think Sumpthing has better reliability. Sam (BAZINGA) 22:51, September 18, 2014 (UTC)
Winner: Warhog (8-1)

Robochicken vs Judge Shred 3[]

Robochicken Judge Shred 3
Robochicken 7
Judge Shred 3
Votes for Robochicken Votes for Judge Shred 3
  1. Robochicken's abysmal wiki luck continues - it's up against a machine that has a superior weapon, and the right blend of size and agility to pip Robochicken to this one. MattRobot WarsTalk to me 19:47, September 18, 2014 (UTC)
  2. I like Robochicken, and its Series 7 format was definitely very good indeed. Unfortunately, it lacked a reliable means of self-righting, and I think that's what will ultimately cost it against an experienced and powerful flipper like Judge Shred. Once Robochicken gets turned over, it'll be easy pickings for a victory via pitting or being punted over the wall. --GoldenFox93 (talk) 20:08, September 18, 2014 (UTC)
  3. This can only result in another victory for the robot with the wider flipper and more reliable srimech, I would have thought, personally. That, and Judge Shred is arguably more stable. CrashBash (talk) 20:32, September 18, 2014 (UTC)
  4. Damn, the chicken will be sent out by the decider. Sam (BAZINGA) 21:42, September 18, 2014 (UTC)
  5. Question: seeing as the team were obviously able to remove the head to enable Robochicken to self-right, and probably would if against potent flippers like Judge Shred 3, is this something that can be taken into consideration? If we're taking the robots as they are, then Judge Shred 3 has it because of Robochicken's inability to self-right in this form, but if the head can be removed I'll probably change my vote. What do people think? Combatwombat555 (talk) 22:08, September 18, 2014 (UTC)
  6. We all know how much Robochicken has struggled with self-righting. BizarroKing (talk) 22:15, September 18, 2014 (UTC)
  7. This is looking like a fairly easy heat for Judge Shred 3, sadly. ToastUltimatum 22:35, September 18, 2014 (UTC)
  8. Close but definite. Jimlaad43(talk) 08:14, September 19, 2014 (UTC)
Winner: Judge Shred 3 (8-0)

Plunderbird 5 vs Chompalot[]

Plunderbird 5 Chompalot
Plunderbird 5
ChompieEx2
Votes for Plunderbird 5
  1. Plunderbird 5 was actually pretty good I thought (Albeit with pretty terrible luck), and it's got some considerable advantages over Chompalot, here. It's faster and more agile, has a lower ground clearance, and it's got a much wider wedge as well, so it'll be much better at getting under and pushing. Chompalot's boxy chassis and paper-thin wings are also quite vulnerable to damage, and it only has that tiny wedge under the claw to get under with. Ultimately, Plunderbird 5 will control the match and pit the Cookie Dragon to win. --GoldenFox93 (talk) 20:04, September 18, 2014 (UTC)
  2. Given how fast Plunderbird is, I think Chompalot will struggle to catch hold of it, and even if it succeeds, there'll still be a tough pushing war. Plunderbird can just slam into Chompalot and gain some points. ToastUltimatum 22:35, September 18, 2014 (UTC)
Votes for Chompalot
  1. No doubt in my mind about this one, the later Plunderbird machines did not impress me on bit. The feisty Chompalot will pinch and pit with little fuss. MattRobot WarsTalk to me 19:47, September 18, 2014 (UTC)
  2. Has Plunderbird 5's crusher ever done ANYTHING? It couldn't even stand up to Rosie the Riveter who has no weapons to speak of. Chompalot is a bit fragile but it has a decent weapon so it should be able to grab on to Plunderbird and do some crushing. It will either win the match on damage or get the Plunderbird boys into the pit.
  3. The dragon to slay the slayer and pit it after biting into the black bots side. Sam (BAZINGA) 21:43, September 18, 2014 (UTC)
  4. CHOMP! The Dragon hunger's for some chicken...BizarroKing (talk)
  5. Chompalot is a bit too tall for Plundy to get a good grip. However, Plundy is the right size to fit in Chompie's mouth. Jimlaad43(talk) 08:15, September 19, 2014 (UTC)
Winner: Chompalot (5-2)

Hodaf the Bad vs 6 Million Dollar Mouse[]

Hodaf the Bad 6 Million Dollar Mouse
Hodaf the bad
6 Mouse
Votes for Hodaf the Bad
  1. Hodaf was also quite a nice, underrated machine. Two good weapons, and it's got the Flipper as well, which I think will be key. The Mouse's bar wasn't all that powerful either, so my money's on Hodaf to flip and pit it. --GoldenFox93 (talk) 20:05, September 18, 2014 (UTC)
  2. If I may throw this out here, I'm not convinced the Mouse has a srimech, and its ground clearance is so suspect, it could easily be knocked over if Hodaf simply rams it. Manta managed, after all. CrashBash (talk) 20:34, September 18, 2014 (UTC)
  3. Hodaf to topple the very expensive mouse over and keep it on its back before allowing the house robots to have roast mouse for dinner. Sam (BAZINGA) 21:45, September 18, 2014 (UTC)
  4. The Mouse most definitely does not have a srimech. Its blade wasn't too bad, proven by its 2 wins in the Civil War, but Hodaf's flipper is the key to this battle. ManUCrazy (talk) 21:47, September 18, 2014 (UTC)
  5. Although I'd rather see 6 Million Dollar Mouse progress, this is a match that can end in a single flip, and the huge ground clearance of 6MDM will make it a very easy flip to get. ToastUltimatum 22:35, September 18, 2014 (UTC)
  6. In the interest of good information, Mouse DID have a srimech. That said, it was a very, very, very slow srimech that broke under minimal duress. The mouse has enough ground clearance to be a hovercraft, and is dead in the water if flipped sideways - which is easy to do with its design. RA2; aka Resetti's Replicas. (My Talk) 23:22, September 18, 2014 (UTC)
  7. Hodaf had a good flipper, it proved itself to be able to self-right, which for an awkward shaped bot like that is pretty good. One flip really. Jimlaad43(talk) 08:16, September 19, 2014 (UTC)
Votes for 6 Million Dollar Mouse
  1. From what I've seen of the Mouse, it's weapon seems pretty powerful, and, as I don't rate Hodaf highly, that's good enough for me. MattRobot WarsTalk to me 19:47, September 18, 2014 (UTC)
  2. It's a shame we didn't get to see much of Hodaf in battle. All I could see was that it looked a little sluggish and that its flipper didn't seem to have a whole lot of raise. The Mouse's weapon isn't all that durable but it can cause damage so it should land a few hits on Hodaf to get the win. --Headbanger14/The Hardcore Kid 20:52, September 18, 2014 (UTC)
  3. I'll go for the Mouse on an upset, I think they can cause some damage to the sides of Hodaf with that blade alone. BizarroKing (talk) 22:15, September 18, 2014 (UTC)
Winner: Hodaf the Bad (7-3)

Round 2[]

Warhog vs Chompalot[]

Warhog Chompalot
Warhog
ChompieEx2
Votes for Warhog
  1. Chompie was easily broken by a powerful spinner, and who's to say that Warhog couldn't do the same to Chompie, and break down after it has been counted out. Jimlaad43(talk) 14:30, September 20, 2014 (UTC)
  2. Warhog may not spin that fast, but the disc is very heavy, giving it enough force to break the arena wall! That weight will be enough to force Chompalot away when it goes jaw-first, leaving Chompalot no realistic form of attack. Warhog will also be able to damage the dragon, just like 13Black before it, leaving Warhog as the winner. ToastUltimatum 00:08, September 21, 2014 (UTC)
  3. The damage potential is much more obvious from Warhog's end, and to command, Chompalot will need Warhog to stop so it can grab Warhog by the spinner. A hit from the spinner will leave Chompalot stunned and Warhog deflecting away, thwarting Chompalot's efforts. Datovidny (talk) 20:38, September 21, 2014 (UTC)
  4. One cannot ignore what 13 Black did to Chompalot. Also, just throwing this out here, if Chompalot tried to grab Warhog, surely it'd run the risk of bending its jaw. CrashBash (talk) 20:42, September 21, 2014 (UTC)
Votes for Chompalot
  1. With a machine as competent as Chompie, it's time for the reliability card. Either Warhog will grind to a halt altogether, or its weapon will, in either case it'll be a simple pinch and pit exercise for Chompalot. MattRobot WarsTalk to me 12:32, September 20, 2014 (UTC)
  2. Bah, I wanted to see Plunderbird go through. Chompie will be able to quite handily defeat Warhog here, though- considering the latter frequently breaks itself with no intervention from its opponents, it should be able to catch hold of it once it's stopped, and then pit it afterwards. Beware Warhog, for in there be dragons. --GoldenFox93 (talk) 13:25, September 20, 2014 (UTC)
  3. The spinner is slow and stops every time it hits something solid. Chompie won't be able to pierce that shell, but will easily clamp it and drop it into the pit. RA2; aka Resetti's Replicas. (My Talk) 17:19, September 20, 2014 (UTC)
  4. Mmmmmmm, roast pork. Sam (BAZINGA) 21:05, September 20, 2014 (UTC)
  5. Every time I saw Warhog fight I never had faith in its weapon, it never span fast enough or stayed moving long enough, so I think Chompalot will be able to do what it needs to do to immobilise it and win. snowdog140 08:42, September 22, 2014 (UTC)
Winner: Chompalot (5-4)

Judge Shred 3 vs Hodaf the Bad[]

Votes for Judge Shred 3
  1. Well if I'll give 6 Million Dollar Mouse the nod, I'm definitely going to vote for Judge Shred. Quite frankly, it is in every way superior to Hodaf. MattRobot WarsTalk to me 12:32, September 20, 2014 (UTC)
  2. Judge Shred should have no trouble flipping Hodaf, and from there pitting or OOTAing it. Funny how a Chicken puts up more of a fight against it than a Tiger! --GoldenFox93 (talk) 13:23, September 20, 2014 (UTC)
  3. Hodaf won't be able to fight back here. Jimlaad43(talk) 14:30, September 20, 2014 (UTC)
  4. That image of Judge Shred reveals an interesting fact - its wheels are tucked quite far into the body. This pretty much makes Hodaf's disc useless. After that, I'd say Judge Shred has the lower centre of gravity and the wider flipper, which will give it advantages and then some. CrashBash (talk) 17:49, September 20, 2014 (UTC)
  5. Hodaf is the bad one here. Sam (BAZINGA) 21:06, September 20, 2014 (UTC)
  6. I don't really see a feasible way for Hodaf to win this one. ToastUltimatum 00:03, September 21, 2014 (UTC)
  7. Out of the Arena in 3...2...1... snowdog140 08:42, September 22, 2014 (UTC)

Votes for Chompalot Votes for Judge Shred 3
  1. As Toast said, this heat was a foregone conclusion really, Judge Shred is a cut above any other machine here. MattRobot WarsTalk to me 16:00, September 22, 2014 (UTC)
  2. Chompalot's srimech was just not reliable. That will be a serious problem. CrashBash (talk) 16:03, September 22, 2014 (UTC)
  3. Dragon eat justice mech. POOP! I'm out. Judge Shred to Oota Chompalot. Sam (BAZINGA) 16:07, September 22, 2014 (UTC)
  4. Boxes are easy to flip. Also, Judge's internals are well away from Chompie. Jimlaad43(talk) 16:08, September 22, 2014 (UTC)
  5. If Chompalot's srimech could be guaranteed to work reliably, I might back it- it could get the jaw/crusher/pincer/whatever the correct term is to cause some damage and eventually pit Judge Shred- but it isn't. It's going over enough times to make the srimech failure inevitable. Combatwombat555 (talk) 16:21, September 22, 2014 (UTC)
  6. Chompalot has a chance if it can keep Judge Shred's wheels off the ground, but given the likelihood, I will vote against Chompalot for the third time. I don't dislike it, honestly! ToastUltimatum 16:28, September 22, 2014 (UTC)
  7. "Inhabitants of the Arena, this is Judge Shred. In case you people have forgotten, this Heat operates under the same regulations as the rest of the Competition. Chompalot's not the Law. I am the Law. Chompalot is a common criminal. Guilty of boxiness, guilty of slow self-righting, guilty of the murder of Plunderbird 5, and as of now under sentence of death. Any who obstruct me in carrying out my duty to throw it Out of the Arena will be treated as an accessory to its crimes. You have been warned. And as for you, Chompalot....judgement time." --GoldenFox93 (talk) 17:09, September 22, 2014 (UTC)
  8. Sad end for the Dragon but I have no arguments over what's been said. BizarroKing (talk) 21:02, September 22, 2014 (UTC)
Winner: Judge Shred 3 (8-0)
