#Damn, if this were any other Tough As Nails, this would be an easy decision for me. But with the reliability issues mentioned by CombatWombat, this is a tougher decision. Here is my logic for this vote... what can Razer actually grab or crush on Tough As Nails? The HARDOX armour will make it damn near impossible to crush effectively. And even if it does grab Tough As Nails, problems may occur. Evidence comes from the infamous 2015 World Championship match between Tough As Nails, Eruption and, more importantly here, Tiberius 4. In that match, Tiberius 4 grabbed Tough As Nails from the front. The result was that Tough As Nails easily gripped on and pushed the crusher into the pit. So unless Razer somehow attacks Tough As Nails from the rear (unlikely, considering how well the bulky Tough As Nails generally protected its flanks), the defending champion may genuinely struggle here. A surprise pitting could occur at some point, providing Tough As Nails survives that long at least. Forums: Index > International Series 6 > International Series 6 Heat A

Welcome to a new, bigger, better series of Robot Wars! As we know from last series, Razer finally managed to ascend the UK throne by defeating Bigger Brother in a one-sided Grand Final. But during the hiatus, we ran three series from across the globe, in the United States, the Netherlands and Germany, producing many unforgetable moments and new stars. And we thought to ourselves: Why limit the number of competitors to just those mainly from the UK? Why not invite those who competed in the international series to battle alongside their UK counterparts? Well, the result of that is, INTERNATIONAL SERIES 6! That's right, Razer is going to be defending its title from the very best the world offers. And its title defence starts here! Henceforth, LET THE WARS BEGIN!

Round 1

Razer (1) vs Trazmaniac vs Granny's Revenge 2 vs Terrorhurtz

  1. Razer and Terrorhurtz. Of course Razer gets Granny's Revenge 2, its the champion's heat for God's sake! So yeah, Razer should be fine here, but I must say that a heat victory might not be 100% secure just yet. Anyhow, Terrorhurtz could be in trouble here based on its quick loss to the crusher. However, this is Razer we are talking about, keen to entertain the crowd in the earlier stages, and thus being more likely to crush and burst Granny's Revenge 2's tyres more than anything. With Razer busy, Terrorhurtz can dominate Trazmaniac by whacking the flat top a few times. Razer can also grab and crush Trazmaniac more easily than Terrorhurtz too. Henceforth, the two Series 6 Grand Finalists clean house. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 16:09, July 10, 2020 (UTC)
  2. Razer and Terrorhurtz - Trazmaniac is a competent enough machine that could have done pretty well given milder opposition, but it's a flat box against two robots that prey on that design. Given that Razer and Terrorhurtz didn't go for each other at all in Series 8 I can't see them doing so here. And Granny's Revenge 2's demise would both be the subject of a Jonathan Pearce laughing fit and be replayed endlessly through all highlight reels for the rest of the series. Combatwombat555 (talk) 16:19, July 10, 2020 (UTC)
  3. Razer and Terrorhurtz - yeah, doubt these two risk taking each other out in Round 1 here, they're both that scared of each other that they just wouldn't bother. Poor Trazmaniac will try, but will be immediately killed by which of the two big boys hits it, while Granny's Revenge will be amputated and bashed in. NJGW (talk) 16:22, July 10, 2020 (UTC)
  4. Razer and Terrorhurtz. Trazmaniac is perfect to be crushed into oblivion by Razer, and Granny's Revenge is going to be chopped into a mess by Terrorhurtz. The chasm of quality here is unbelievable. Jimlaad43(talk) 16:44, July 10, 2020 (UTC)
  5. Razer and Terrorhurtz. I mean, Razer could take out Terrorhurtz if it wanted to, but lets be realistic here....CrashBash (talk) 17:00, July 10, 2020 (UTC)
  6. Razer and Terrorhurtz: I can finally edit! Ah well this is a bit of a cake walk, nothing really to say.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 17:02, July 10, 2020 (UTC)
  7. Razer and Terrorhurtz. Good thing is isn't 2010, otherwise Razer's detractors would be crying foul over it getting drawn against a joke entrant and a robot that's very easy to crush. Hogwild94 (talk) 17:40, July 10, 2020 (UTC)
  8. Razer and Terrorhurtz. Well, this heat draw really sucks for Terrorhurtz. It'll still easily make it through to the next round after Granny's Revenge gets decapitated and Trazmaniac is just suffocated by Razer and pummelled to death by Terrorhurtz' axe. --TheyCallMeDoot (*doot doot*) 17:42, July 10, 2020 (UTC)
  9. Razer to dispatch of Granny, whilst Terrorhurtz starts the mullering of Trazmaniac, before Razer comes in and pits it. Adster1005 18:44, July 10, 2020 (UTC)
  10. Razer and Terrorhurtz. I'm so sad. The lengths I go to in order to give Trazmaniac a fighting chance in a wiki tournament, but it failed in Dutch Series 3 and it fails even more dramatically here. I think the Series 8 melee featuring Razer and Terrorhurtz shows what will happen here, except without the Razer-Trazmaniac mutual death pact. Despair. TOAST 23:04, July 10, 2020 (UTC)
Or if it does happen, Razer still goes through because Granny's Revenge is already gone. CrashBash (talk) 04:38, July 11, 2020 (UTC)
  11. Razer and Terrorhurtz. This is one fight that would be extremely entertaining to witness, but less fun to vote on. It’s a shame Terrorhurtz got put in this heat. But we’re yet to reach that stage where that matters yet. RelicRaider (talk) 17:17, July 11, 2020 (UTC)

Hoot vs Slamtilt vs Snookums vs Tough As Nails

Votes
  1. Slamtilt and Tough As Nails. A good melee for Tough As Nails to showcase its potential. Hoot is a perfect shape for Tough As Nails to grab, and as we saw from its two battles, was incapable of causing any damage. Grab and pit should do the trick. Now, Tough As Nails will find it a bit more difficult from here. It is not as if it can't grab and pit either opponent, it is just both are very awkward to grab and pit, but Tough As Nails will do so eventually. Who is more easier to grab? I will say Snookums, because at least Slamtilt has the benefit of being an axlebot that theoretically can slide its way out of Tough As Nails' graps once or twice. Snookums really cannot, and using its lifter will probably trap it in place. And no, in the time taken to pit Hoot, Snookums will not have done anything to trouble Slamtilt. Henceforth, the axlebot barely progresses through with the impressive Tough As Nails. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 16:09, July 10, 2020 (UTC)
  2. Tough as Nails and Snookums - Tough as Nails is a bit of a time-bomb at this time given how it died in Dutch Series 2, but there's nothing to threaten it here. As Space said, it's between Slamtilt and Snookums for which goes through with it, and I think Slamtilt's vulnerable wheels might not stand up particularly well to getting grabbed by Tough as Nails - plus Snookums is an even more awkward shape to grab and has the lifting sword that might break a grip. Combatwombat555 (talk) 16:23, July 10, 2020 (UTC)
  3. Tough as Nails and Snookums - Interesting. I do think an angled Tough as Nails grip will take one of Snookums' wheels off the ground and could cause a comfortable pitting on its own. However, the possibility of Slamtilt getting in an awkward area itself is even more possible, and I think Snookums added potential defence with its weaponry could be telling. As an extra note, I do think the 'slipperyness' of every thwackbot is always way overestimated, and especially in Slamtilt's case, which is hardly a livewire. NJGW (talk) 16:35, July 10, 2020 (UTC)
  4. Tough As Nails and Slamtilt. Slamtilt is going to survive the Tough as Nails show due to its awkward to grab shape. Hoot will get the Scraptosaur treatment and be dumped straight away, Snookums is going to have a wheel popped off with a slam from Tough as Nails, where it will be a sitting shark to be also pitted. Jimlaad43(talk) 16:47, July 10, 2020 (UTC)
  5. Slamtilt and Snookums. Tough As Nails easily deals with Hoot, but is basically unable to do a thing to either of its more awkwardly shaped opponents before suffering a breakdown. This is honestly the scenario I imagine most likely to happen. CrashBash (talk) 17:00, July 10, 2020 (UTC)
  6. Tough as Nails and Snookums: Slamtilt seems too vulnerable with those tires and rather nonthreatening weapon, and Hoot is a weak stockbot. Tough as Nails to dominate but the lifter of Snookums should keep it alive long enough I feel.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 17:03, July 10, 2020 (UTC)
  7. Tough as Nails and Slamtilt. Tough as Nails easily dispatches Hoot, but is unable to deal with its other two opponents; it goes all the way to the judges, and Snookums misses out on minor damage caused to its weaker armour. Hogwild94 (talk) 17:42, July 10, 2020 (UTC)
  8. Tough as Nails and Snookums. Tough as Nails is through this round without a hitch, but the main question is which two 'bots it'll take down with it. The most likely thing that'll happen to me is that Hoot is pitted in a matter of seconds while Slamtilt ends up being the next to fall as it looks a lot less awkward to hold on to compared to Snookums. --TheyCallMeDoot (*doot doot*) 17:44, July 10, 2020 (UTC)
  9. Tough as Nails and Slamtilt - Tough as Nails can grab all three of the other machines, but I think Slamtilt will be the one to evade it most, meaning Snookums and Hoot are pitted. Adster1005 18:44, July 10, 2020 (UTC)
  10. Tough as Nails and Snookums. Very tough. The Dutch alliance could encourage TAN to spare Slamtilt here. We're obviously losing Hoot at the hands of TAN, but that gives a bit of time for Snookums and Slamtilt to fight each other. Although TAN would probably target Snookums of the two when both are on full health, I think Snookums can give Slamtilt trouble and maybe force a hobbly drive until TAN picks it off. Happy with either outcome though. TOAST 23:07, July 10, 2020 (UTC)
  11. Tough as Nails and Snookums It’s difficult to say what happened to TAN in its first round of the Dutch Wars, but I think it still has the measure of every robot in this fight. Snookums is the most awkward shape to grab, and probably the most active other than TAN so I see it going through. RelicRaider (talk) 17:22, July 11, 2020 (UTC)

Round 2

Razer (1) vs Tough As Nails

Razer Tough As Nails
Razer S6
TANDRW
Votes for Razer
  1. I don't think TaN can outdo Razer here. Razer is more manoeuvrable, and Tough as Nails can flip itself over, Razer can grab the bar at the back. Then it's a case of Razer driving TaN into dangerous places, maybe even pitting it. If Razer can turn just before TaN can attack, then it can grab the side or the wheel. Adster1005 13:07, July 12, 2020 (UTC)
  2. There's a few things that point me towards Razer here. First up, yeah, as mentioned, this Tough as Nails shut down very quickly into its fight with Scrap-2-Saur. The opening melee I'm thinking it would probably get over and done with without much of a struggle - a long, drawn-out fight with Razer? Nope. This Tough as Nails also really struggled for traction - you see it throughout Series 7 that when Tough as Nails is trying to manoeuvre something towards the pit its wheels are constantly spinning and losing grip. Panic Attack resisted it, Robochicken resisted it, Bulldog Breed resisted it - so even if Tough as Nails does clamp hold of Razer (which given the curved sides its going to find a lot more difficult that the comparatively bulky Tiberius 4) I'm not convinced it'd be able to pit it. Particularly when Razer itself is trying to manhandle Tough as Nails! A good fight (if Tough as Nails doesn't die very quickly), but I've got to back Razer here. Combatwombat555 (talk) 13:13, July 12, 2020 (UTC)
  3. Now this, this is a fight I would have LOVED to have seen. What sways this for Razer, for me is a few factors. Firstly, this Tough as Nails isn't as reliable and as effective as future versions, Razer is quick and slippery, often avoiding the key weapons of its opponents (see: Cyrax, S3, Tornado, 13 Black etc.) We know that the back end, the large hydraulic and wheels, is vulnerable and that the claw of Razer can cause severe damage and problems. Not to mention the wedge of Razer that can scoop under and get TaN however it likes. All this means Razer wins in every category with high marks.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 14:54, July 12, 2020 (UTC)
  4. Tough as Nails has a 0% chance of victory here. It can't grab Razer anywhere because of the front wedge, and Razer will never allow it got get behind and grab the rear. Razer can slide into the claws of TAN, let the body ride up the wedge and come down with the claw to hold TAN inside. Open the pit and drop it in. This is post-reliability poo Razer so it's a simple victory over an inferior grabber and pusher. Jimlaad43(talk) 15:07, July 12, 2020 (UTC)
  5. A very simple victory for Razer. Even if this was the Series 7, and thus more reliable, version of Tough As Nails, I'd still back Razer. There are a ton of places for Razer to be able to grab hold of TAN even as TAN grabs it. From there, Razer is likely to take control more. Plus, this version of TAN is just not reliable. CrashBash (talk) 15:33, July 12, 2020 (UTC)
  6. Yeah, Razer would beat the more reliable S7 Tough as Nails too, it has the ground clearance advantage and is an awkward shape to grapple like TaN relied on. Here, Razer is on easy street. Hogwild94 (talk) 17:54, July 12, 2020 (UTC)
  7. This was always going to be the "Razer and Terrorhurtz Romp Round" no matter what would've happened. In this case, Razer can clamp down on TaN and prevent it from getting any meaningful traction on the arena floor until a breakdown occurs. --TheyCallMeDoot (*doot doot*) 18:28, July 12, 2020 (UTC)
  8. Point taken on the Tiberius win, that definitely made me reconsider and props for using that famous Eruption fight in a new way, but I still don't think I have the evidence that TAN could outpush the much wedgier Razer. TOAST 19:40, July 12, 2020 (UTC)

  1. Damn, if this were any other Tough As Nails, this would be an easy decision for me. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 13:01, July 12, 2020 (UTC)

Votes for Terrorhurtz
  1. Pretty simple victory for Terrorhurtz. Snookums flipper will do nothing, enabling the axe machine to just destroy the fragile body, particularly the tail. Terrorhurtz first decapitated Granny's Revenge, now it amputates a swordfish's tail. Certainly living up to the "Terror" and "hurtz" parts of "Terrorhurtz". SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 13:01, July 12, 2020 (UTC)
  2. Terrorhurtz will create Terror for Snookums, and will definitely hurt as well. Adster1005 13:07, July 12, 2020 (UTC)
  3. I love Ed Robinson's robots, and Sharkoprion would offer a closer fight, but Terrorhurtz isn't really going to struggle here. Combatwombat555 (talk) 13:17, July 12, 2020 (UTC)
