Bamm Bamm's Dutch Series 2 campaign almost ended after just one fight, shockingly losing on a Judges' decision to Flepser. However, it received a wildcard to the Grand Final and took full advantage of it, defeating its great rival Lizzard, before losing a close fight to Philipper 2 in the final four. Now a two-time Dutch Grand Finalist, Bamm Bamm wants to have an equally successful UK run. But with no wildcards, and young and hungry opposition like Shredder (who troubled MouseTrap), and Buzz, achieving such a run will carry more merit for sure! So, LET THE WARS BEGIN!

Round 1

Bamm Bamm (19) vs Trilobyte vs Infernal Contraption vs 4x4

  1. Bamm Bamm and Infernal Contraption. Certainly the Heat of Life, right? So, the seed should be fine here, considering it is facing two machines that hardly had firepower and died quite easily, and a loose cannon. 4x4 is better than Monad, but it still looked a little unstable and was slain by Barber-Ous 2 in one or two fairly light hits to be honest. Probably a good hit from Bamm Bamm or a blow from Infernal Contraption will cause havoc to the Team Monad representative. Trilobyte is such a slow colossus that even the loose cannon Infernal Contraption should consistently hit it, causing it to break down. Bamm Bamm proved relatively secure, and Infernal Contraption still somehow moved somewhat despite suffering badly against 259. They will be the survivors then, in that case. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 08:31, August 2, 2020 (UTC)
  2. Bamm Bamm and Infernal Contraption - Not much to say really, Bamm Bamm is the strongest here and Infernal Contraption is the most damaging and can survive easily where as 4X4 and Trilobyte just seem less impactful in the fight and less likely to win. Now cue the atypical Jimlaad vote against Infernal Contraption being "bad"....;) Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 08:42, August 2, 2020 (UTC)
  3. Bamm Bamm and Infernal Contraption. My God this heat is dire. I'm expecting the Jimlaad-worst-nightmare heat final of Shredder vs Infernal Contraption and not having any grievances with that jeez. Well, Trilobyte to do diddly squat and 4x4 to be pushed about and shredded by IC in the one attack it actually manages to keep the flywheel pointing forwards to kill it off Jimlaad43(talk) 08:45, August 2, 2020 (UTC)
  4. Bamm Bamm and Infernal Contraption. Perfection, gentlemen, we have found it. This heat is magnificent. TOAST 10:38, August 2, 2020 (UTC)
  5. Bamm Bamm and Infernal Contraption. The surely objectively stronger pair of robots in this melee should have no trouble showing aggression against two sitting ducks. In an ideal world, 4x4 and Trilobyte would make contact and both die on impact to spare us our valuable time. SFCJack (talk) 12:02, August 2, 2020 (UTC)
  6. Bamm Bamm and Infernal Contraption. Blummin' 'eck, what a heat, pretty much anyone could go through, and that is brilliant. Anyway, Bamm Bamm and Infernal Contraption are just going to give no room to Trilobyte or 4x4, and Bamm Bamm and Infernal Contraption will go through either by the Judges, or a knockout. Adster1005 12:07, August 2, 2020 (UTC)
  7. Bamm Bamm and Infernal Contraption. I kept musing over any possible alternatives and yet found nothing. The moment Trilobyte may have been competent, it'd probably just drive into the pit again after opening it right at the start of the battle and seemingly forgetting it had done so. I'm sorry, but I love that pitting for some reason. CrashBash (talk) 15:58, August 2, 2020 (UTC)
  8. Infernal Contraption and Bamm Bamm - yep, agreed with the other votes. These two will do their business in a modest way. NJGW (talk) 17:43, August 2, 2020 (UTC)
  9. Bamm Bamm and Infernal Contraption. Yeah, going with the crowd again. Trilobyte just not reliable, and 4x4 only marginally better than its dad. Hogwild94 (talk) 17:58, August 2, 2020 (UTC)
  10. Bamm Bamm and Infernal Contraption - Bamm Bamm should be pretty dominant regardless of which weapon it uses, and Infernal Contraption's iffy control won't matter against such mild opposition and it'll tear up some armour. Combatwombat555 (talk) 22:43, August 2, 2020 (UTC)

Axe-C-Dent 2 vs Shredder vs Night Stalker vs Buzz

Axe-C-Dent 2
Axe-C-Dent 2
Votes
  1. Shredder and Buzz. Buzz can probably topple Axe-C-Dent 2 within a few seconds. Regarding the remaining three, Night Stalker did have some potential, but could not really showcase it when facing effective rammers. Unfortunately for it, Shredder survived some decent punishment from S3, so it can easily soak up the hits the full-body spinner delivers. Buzz can then wedge underneath and either topple or push Night Stalker around, these attacks compromising Night Stalker's weapon. It will then only be a matter of time before Night Stalker grounds to a halt from attacks by both Shredder and Buzz. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 08:31, August 2, 2020 (UTC)
  2. Shredder and Buzz - I can't wait to see how Toast and Nick somehow come up with a way Axe-C-Dent can win this despite being a poor robot, anyways, this fight is pretty easy to decide, Shredder the strongest by far, Axe-C-Dent is gonna fall apart or die from a ht and Night Stalker is...something that existed, it's probably weaker than Axe-C-Dent! Buzz, as it appeared in BattleBots as well, seemed like a really good robot and honestly, given the competition, I say it might be the dark horse...Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 08:46, August 2, 2020 (UTC)
    I thought NJGW didn't like Axe-C-Dent because of its name. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 08:50, August 2, 2020 (UTC)
I thought both of them voted for it in almost every fight in Ragnabots, I'll have recheck :PDiotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 08:56, August 2, 2020 (UTC)
y-yeah, I certainly have not been one eager to be part of any potential Axe-C-Dent support... NJGW (talk) 16:45, August 2, 2020 (UTC)
  3. Shredder and Axe-C-Dent. There isn't really anything here to worry Axecident and make it fall over, so the spinning bar should whack and kill Night-whichever with ease while Shredder tries to take Buzz apart. The flat aides should allow Shredder to do some scratches at best, but I don't expect Buzz to survive longer when Axecident appears and takes a welt out the side. Jimlaad43(talk) 08:48, August 2, 2020 (UTC)
Buzz has a wedge, with a flipper capable of toppling Xylon. Yes, Axe-C-Dent 2 will most certainly fall over at some point. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 08:50, August 2, 2020 (UTC)
  4. Shredder and Axe-C-Dent II The heat favourite(!) Shredder will be heading through here, and yes I will be backing up Axe-C-Dent II again. I don't see it being flipped by the lethargic Buzz who has other opponents to focus on, so it's welcome to sneak some damage points in there. TOAST 10:40, August 2, 2020 (UTC)
  5. Axe-C-Dent II and Shredder. Shredder can keep attacking at Buzz, and Axe-C-Dent II can have a got at Night Stalker. I don't see Buzz getting a flip in, and Night Stalker wasn't the best of machines. Axe-C-Dent II and Shredder on the Judges. Adster1005 12:07, August 2, 2020 (UTC)
  6. Shredder and Buzz. As much as I'd like to believe Axe-C-Dent 2 would unearth some hidden potential here, I can only imagine Buzz would be a bigger nuisance in this fight as Axe-C-Dent 2 circles aimlessly around the arena trying to find a target to hit amidst the busyness of a four-way melee. SFCJack (talk) 12:13, August 2, 2020 (UTC)
  7. Shredder and Buzz. Seems very simple for me - Axe-C-Dent will be quickly flipped over by Buzz, and then Night Stalker very quickly runs out of steam. Maybe the batteries get knocked loose again. CrashBash (talk) 15:56, August 2, 2020 (UTC)
  8. Shredder and Buzz - simple for me too. Axe-C-Dent died against Destruct-A-Bubble, and there's nothing from Axe-C-Dent 2 to suggest its weapon would be much cop either. It will die at some point, and Night Stalker will get bullied around too. NJGW (talk) 17:45, August 2, 2020 (UTC)
  9. Shredder and Buzz. Yeah, I really want to throw Axe-C-Dent a bone for once, but then I remember a robot I built for my YouTube series once (can't remember its name or whether it ever appeared on screen) that was so front heavy that it'd topple forwards after just a slightest nudge/flip. Buzz can do that, unfortunately. Night Stalker, meanwhile, will just get walked all over by all opponents. Hogwild94 (talk) 18:01, August 2, 2020 (UTC)
  10. Shredder and Buzz - Shredder's comfortably through, and whilst I don't rate Buzz too highly it was competent enough in its melee. Axe-C-Dent 2 should be able to show off what it can do (better than it did in its melee anyway), but Buzz had some thick armour and should take the hits, and should be able to get Axe-C-Dent 2 onto its side at some point. Night Stalker really wasn't impressive and any one of the other three could take it out, honestly. Combatwombat555 (talk) 23:02, August 2, 2020 (UTC)

Bamm Bamm (19) vs Buzz

Votes for Bamm Bamm
  1. I'll back Bamm Bamm here. I reckon it'll be able to get enough hits with its axe in order to rack up a Judges' Decision. Adster1005 09:54, August 4, 2020 (UTC)
  2. This is a battle that's only going to be won with the House Robots. Buzz can't flip Bamm Bamm over because it's too wide, so the two of them will resort to pushing each other into CPZ's. I can see Bamm Bamm surviving an onslaught by Killalot or Matilda, but that flywheel would destroy Buzz if it caught it, and most other house robots will do it a mischief anyway. Bamm Bamm can keep Buzz near CPZs and it can win. Jimlaad43(talk) 10:06, August 4, 2020 (UTC)
  3. Both of these robots are extremely inconsistent. Buzz can go from taking out Ninjitsu in a controlled performance to being passive in a melee and losing to The Falcon Mark II. Bamm Bamm can dominate Lizzard on a good day and go toe-to-toe with Philipper II, but then lose badly to Lizzard another day and pose no opposition to Flepser (even if the weapon was seemingly dead all along). Whoever is on top form that day will win, but I think Bamm Bamm is the safer choice. The weapon should be working here, so as long as Buzz doesn't KO it via the pit, it should go to the judges where Bamm Bamm's weapon use will carry it through. TOAST 10:44, August 4, 2020 (UTC)
  4. I don't see Buzz getting underneath Bamm Bamm far enough to get the flipped into play, so Bamm Bamm to nudge away and axe away and win a very tight judges decision on minor damage and aggression. Hogwild94 (talk) 17:35, August 4, 2020 (UTC)
  5. I can't see either bot getting the KO here, but I'd imagine Bamm Bamm's likely to get more axe blows than Buzz will get flips, which would be enough to convince the judges. SFCJack (talk) 22:37, August 4, 2020 (UTC)
  6. I can see Bamm Bamm getting in far more hits with the axe/hammer than Buzz gets successful flips, and given how competently Bamm Bamm kept self-righted against Philipper 2 I doubt it'll be fazed much at all. Buzz's armour was decent so the blows won't do much, but Bamm Bamm will be a long way ahead on aggression if it goes that far. Combatwombat555 (talk) 18:20, August 5, 2020 (UTC)
  7. Hmm, not entirely sure about this one. Buzz might be able to wedge under Bamm Bamm, but if it does, Bamm Bamm can wallop it a couple of time soon before Buzz will be able to get an effective attack in. Bamm Bamm’s attacks will score more aggression points, while Buzz will score more control points methinks. A close judges decision, but one which Bamm Bamm will edge in all criteria except control. Raz3r(talk) 21:47, August 5, 2020 (UTC)
  8. Gonna trust Buzz to be consistent enough and put in enough hits to take this. NJGW (talk) 03:40, August 6, 2020 (UTC)
Votes for Buzz
  1. Backing the dark horse for this one. Bamm Bamm's axe is decent, but its design is awful when facing decent wedges, as proven against Flepser. Buzz is small and agile enough to continually get underneath its bigger opponent, lifting the Dutch seed around and slamming it into hazards like Flepser did. Bamm Bamm will achieve a hit now and again, but its raised height plus Buzz's small shape will make it difficult for it to consistent hit its foe. Therefore, Buzz's aggression and control should see it win a Judges' decision! SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 09:17, August 4, 2020 (UTC)
  2. Same as the above^ Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 09:25, August 4, 2020 (UTC)
  3. I'm sorta seeing a clash akin to the Flepser fight. Bamm Bamm might not get flipped, but it'll still be wedged, lifted and generally bullied around. General rule of thumb, Bamm Bamm didn't do well against robots with flippers or lifters. CrashBash (talk) 10:12, August 4, 2020 (UTC)
Winner: Bamm Bamm (8-3)

Infernal Contraption vs Shredder

Votes for Infernal Contraption
  1. So. We have essentially the heat of my dreams here, where the plucky Shredder has somehow managed to become the runaway heat favourite. One of my favourite machines ever, known for getting beaten up but still trying its best against superior opposition, has actually been given the royal flush and looks set for heat victory. And I'm going to ruin it. Yes, I'm forced to turn against the Shredder I love so much in order to back Infernal Contraption, a robot I've more recently come to appreciate with a firmer grasp on its capabilities. This is a very similar clash to Infinity vs Infernal Contraption where the pushing of Infinity dictated the pace of the fight, but Infernal Contraption's damage to Infinity's weapon made the fight closer than it had any right to be. I see the same happening here, whereby Shredder will push Infernal Contraption around, but its discs will get bent and broken in the process. Not only will this be more crippling damage than the loss of Infinity's already-useless claws, but Shredder's much more vulnerable armour compared to Infinity is also going to show wear and tear. Sure, Infernal Contraption is awful at taking its weapon into its opponents, but when you have something like Shredder that dives headfirst into S3's disc just for the fun of it, Infernal Contraption is going to passively rack up damage that the judges won't be able to ignore. This isn't like Shredder Evolution vs Infernal Contraption where the actually damaging new discs of Shredder led to a KO, the discs on Shredder here won't have much of an impact. Infernal Contraption will at least initiate a few attacks of its own, lose on Control and Aggression overall, but win on Damage and Style (lol). TOAST 10:45, August 4, 2020 (UTC)
  2. Put Shredder Evolution against Infernal Contraption and suddenly this is a much more one-sided affair, but this is the version of Shredder famed for flimsy discs and driving into the pit. Though the spinning drum isn't too well-known for its ability to cause destruction, I really could see it hindering a weapon like Shredder's through repeated impacts and beginning to dictate the fight in the knowledge that they have key damage points if and when it goes to the judges. A Shredder victory this may end up being based on current votes, but Spin City this is not. SFCJack (talk) 22:49, August 4, 2020 (UTC)
  3. Swapping to the losing side, why? Well I decided to rewatch, or skim watch the Shredder and Infernal Contraption fights from Series 6-Extreme 2 mainly because on second though a comparison to Series 7 seemed a bit unfair given both had upgraded heavily. So rewatching gave me a bit of insight. Both had relatively awkward control but Shredder was slightly better. It then came down to weaponry and aggression. Infernal Contraption, I noticed was always on the attack no matter what (except the 259 fight) it almost always kept throwing itself at its opponents despite the fact it barely did much in return...or so we think. In the University Challenge melee, IC threw C.V into the air, battered Behemoth at the side and buckled Infinity as well as KOing Sgt Bash and Shredder on the other had got heavily damaged by both The Alien and S3, lost its weaponry quite easily and dealt very little damage (I mean look at the MouseTrap fight in Series 5 for example, it barely made any impact). With this new rewatch/insight I came to the conclusion that Infernal Contraption, can in fact win this fight very easily by damaging Shredder with the drum blade.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 16:31, August 5, 2020 (UTC)
  4. Agree with this side. Infernal Contraption will be harder to cause visual damage to, and its spinner will likely work for much longer. Going for it to take a war of attrition on the judges here. NJGW (talk) 03:41, August 6, 2020 (UTC)
Votes for Shredder
  1. Welcome to Jimlaad's Robot Wars Hell. It might not be a Heat Final, but it might be enough to scare him away from voting on this one. Anyhow, a simple victory to Shredder, to be honest. Considering Shredder did tank some punishment from S3 and The Alien, the inconsistent hits from Infernal Contraption will not be enough to trouble the purple machine. Shredder can then simply push the axlebot around, dominating through aggression more than damage output. Ultimately, Infernal Contraption will not cause enough damage to win a Judges' decision.SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 09:17, August 4, 2020 (UTC)
  2. Could Shredder be a semi-finalist? It's looking possible. Anyway, Shredder to constantly go on the aggressive and push IC all over the place, either pitting it, or letting the HR deal with it. Adster1005 10:01, August 4, 2020 (UTC)
  3. I don't think Shredder is as solid as its Evolution counterpart, so I don't see it playing out identically to their clash in Series 7. But I do still see it being the constant aggressor. CrashBash (talk) 10:05, August 4, 2020 (UTC)
  4. Don't worry, I'm very happy to see this in round 2 and not the heat final. Shredder will obviously turn up to this battle upside-down and be boring, will basically sit around and attempt to push Infernal Contraption while the axlebot flails about throwing away control and style points. Shredder can rack those points up easily (well, control. There's no style for deliberately trying not to use a weapon) and push Infernal Contraption towards the pit or CPZs. Jimlaad43(talk) 10:10, August 4, 2020 (UTC)
  5. Both these spinners will likely be able to cause minor damage to each other, but I feel Shredder's attacks on Infernal Contraption's tyres will be more visible and get more points than the reverse on Shredder's armour. Hogwild94 (talk) 17:36, August 4, 2020 (UTC)
  6. Infernal Contraption's drum was decent, but the control left so much to be desired that I just can't back it here - it just struggled so much to get its weapon into play. In five minutes against Infinity it got one decent hit to buckle the claw, but that was it. Honestly, Shredder might match it for damage by getting a thousand small cuts against Infernal Contraption's one reasonable blow - and even if Infernal Contraption does cause some damage Shredder will be so far ahead on aggression and control that it shouldn't really matter. Combatwombat555 (talk) 18:53, August 5, 2020 (UTC)
  7. Shredder I can see starting upside down, they’ll know the spinners will stand little chance if they’re come once contact, and would probably stop working. Shredder itself will be durable enough to take the brunt of any hits, and will be far more aggressive and controlled in its approach, and shove Infernal Contraption all over the arena. No way is Shredder causing damage, but not do I think the damage Infernal Contraption can cause will sway the outcome. Raz3r(talk) 21:47, August 5, 2020 (UTC)

Votes for Bamm Bamm
  1. Shredder wasn't a good pusher and it took until Evolution for those discs to even be slightly scary. Bamm Bamm will do the most pushing of the pair and can score points with the axe actually hitting Shredder. No damage will be done, but it's points nonetheless. Bamm Bamm needs to force Shredder into CPZs, which it can do, and make the House Robots do the dirty work. Jimlaad43(talk) 08:56, August 6, 2020 (UTC)
Votes for Shredder
  1. Shredder's pushing power is going to be key here, since damage-wise, neither will be able to deal much to the other. Now, unless Bamm Bamm can lock down Shredder with its axe, Shredder will easily be able to out-muscle the circular machine, which will score highly in terms of aggression and control points. Plus, a few slams into the CPZ will certainly help Shredder's cause. Ultimately, the purple machine should ensure a solid if unspectacular domination on its Dutch foe, enabling it to win a Judges' decision mainly on aggression and control.
