After 24 action-packed heats, we have finally reached the Semi-Finals, where the road to the Grand Final truly begins to get tough. Indeed, when all is said and done, only eight machines will be honoured with a place in the Grand Final. So, without further ado, lets introduce our first six contenders and how they got to the Semi-Finals.

  • Razer, our defending champion, has really yet to break any robosweat. Sure, Tough As Nails did give it a tiny bit of hassle, but Razer ultimately outmatched its Dutch opponent, before outclassing the highly impressive Terrorhurtz. So far, it is on course to achieve back-to-back titles.
  • Stinger, who after its loss to S3 in Series 5, finally put that haunting behind it by redeeming itself against various spinners. Indeed, it managed to take out Blackdevil Warzone with a barrage of blows, before an expert strike on 259's weapon belt enabled the axlebot to control the Heat Final.
  • Tsunami, our German runners-up, has certainly earned the right to represent Deutschland. In a heat filled with international opponents, Tsunami managed to put an end to Cyclone's reign of terror that began in the US Annihilator, before showing that less is indeed more by throwing the trio that make up √3² across the arena.
  • Rosie the Riveter 2, the only American represent in this Semi-Final, has already made waves in this tournament, by defeating S3, one of the pre-tournament favourites! By defeating a power vertical spinner, as well as gaining experience in facing crushers by beating R.O.C.S., could Rosie pull off more surprises in this heat?
  • Behemoth, who finally ended a long run of bad luck by conquering a heat filled with powerful horizontal spinners. Behemoth has worked hard throughout Heat D, firstly by ending up 2-0 against Supernova, successfully managing to withstand the much improved spinner before dumping it into the Pit. Perhaps more impressively though, Behemoth is now 2-0 up against Hypno-Disc, showing that its win back in Extreme 1 is no fluke. Now, with no horizontal spinners in this Semi-Final, will Behemoth struggle or will it thrive against old and new opponents?
  • Last but not least, Ming 3, who is also making waves, firstly by overcoming American represent Sir Force A Lot, before ending the Adams Family's Semi-Final streak by outmatching Wild Thing on a Judges' decision. Will it be able to reach the heights of fellow crusher Razer? We shall see.

So, LET THE WARS BEGIN!

Round 1

Razer (1) vs Stinger (23)

Razer Stinger

Stinger
Votes for Razer
  1. And we start by one of the most entertaining yet one of the most controversial battles in Audited Series 6. As much as I enjoyed the outcome of that match, I must admit that I, along with the other Stinger supporters, and while we are at it, the Razer supporters, collectively messed up. You see, not a single person mentioned that Stinger is vulnerable being grabbed because Chompalot did so in that Round 1 melee. Indeed, Chompalot had quite a good grip on the seed, before having to let go in order to defend itself against 13 Black. Well, anything Chompalot can do, Razer can do much, much better. Henceforth, Razer to grab its foe, probably lift it into the air, and Pit it. A shame! SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 09:14, 20 September 2020 (UTC)
  2. Well, we're guaranteed a seed to fall in the first round of the Semi-Finals, so much for 13 seeds remain This is a matchup I always get wary of especially in the Semi-Finals, as it really could go either way (and I'm pretty sure it has done before). As Space says, Chompalot grabbed Stinger in that first round melee. And despite Razer having a completely different crusher, I still think it could grab between the axle and the wheel, and Stinger can't do anything. Razer might even be able to get a purchase on the axle itself, or puncture the wheel in places. Stinger can only attack down, and whilst that may be aggressive, I don't see much damage. If Razer doesn't pit it, an easy Judges' Decision. Adster1005 09:21, 20 September 2020 (UTC)
  3. This for me is a dream match. Stinger will give Razer some trouble but as Tiberius did in the DRG I see Razer grabbing around Stinger's middle or wheels and clamping down to pop a tire or drive it into a hazard, controlling Stinger and maybe achieving a KO. A fun match this.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 09:39, 20 September 2020 (UTC)
  4. I was absolutely baffled by the outcome last time. Again, I'll reference the same things of Stinger not having a chunky body, which allows it to grab or dictate, or the key one which is that Stinger does not sit and spin constantly for 5 whole minutes. NJGW (talk) 10:32, 20 September 2020 (UTC)
  5. Yeah, I'm with Razer again. I can't really see Stinger causing much damage - overhead hits won't do a lot, and sit-and-spin strikes should mostly just glance off the curved armour - and Razer should be able to dictate the pace of the fight. It should be able to grab hold of the axle (or alternatively the shaft above the curved metal flanges), box it into a CPZ, let the House Robots go to town on it. Razer was very, very good at controlling the fight even against opponents that were awkward to damage, and this'll be no different. Combatwombat555 (talk) 11:24, 20 September 2020 (UTC)
  6. Really relieved to see this outcome so far. As Diotoir quite rightly pointed out, Tiberius 2 showed that crushers can indeed grab Stinger by the wheels, and it didn’t just beat Stinger in DRG 2001’s main competition, but in a side event with M2 present as well. While Razer probably isn’t as well armoured as Tiberius 2, it’s still more than capable of getting a hold of the thwackbot and crushing into it. Stinger may dent Razer in a couple of places, but Razer will command the general flow of the fight, either scoring a pitting or comfortably winning on a judges decision. Raz3r(talk) 12:21, 20 September 2020 (UTC)
  7. A pretty infamous match in the history of the wiki and I can totally still see Stinger winning. But Marc's evidence of the Tiberius fight surfacing did prove convincing and I suppose Razer would just score higher for its own efforts. I could vote Stinger like last time, but Razer would only win the losers' melee anyway haha. TOAST 14:03, 20 September 2020 (UTC)
  8. This is a battle I still would have loved to have seen. If it weren't for the revelation of Stinger losing to Tiberius, I would have voted for it, easily. But considering that Razer is obviously leagues better than Tiberius (which feels painful to say towards what was clearly the second-best crusher of the classic era), I suppose it would make sense for it to beat Stinger in a comparable way. I wouldn't have strictly used the Chompalot argument, BTW, due to the nature of the weapon set-ups...I would have argued Chompalot's narrower mouth would have made it more suited for grabbing Stinger in the first place...but the revelation speaks for itself. CrashBash (talk) 15:18, 20 September 2020 (UTC)
  9. Hang on, Stinger won that fight? What? This always just seems like a Razer win no matter what incarnation we're talking about. And honestly, if Tiberius was able to lock onto Razer's wheel, then Razer will almost certainly do the same thing. Hell, Chompalot managed to clamp onto Stinger as well, so grabbers seem like the absolute worst thing Stinger could match up against. It'll take a while, but once Razer gets its crusher locked onto Stinger's tire or central axle, it'll be a swift pitting job from there. --TheyCallMeDoot (*doot doot*) 17:06, 20 September 2020 (UTC)
Votes for Stinger
  1. Stinger is just way too tough to grab, even on the tyres, for Razer. I can't see Razer getting a grip on Stinger since it binned off the weird back plate it had in Series 4. Stinger to get one or two whacks on Razer's wings to rack up some damage points, and win on virtue of Razer struggling to get any meaningful attacks lined up. Jimlaad43(talk) 11:36, 20 September 2020 (UTC)
  2. Nah, I'm going to stick with Stinger here. The Tiberius revelation doesn't change my judgement that much, mainly because Stinger would still be able to catch Razer on the wheels to knock it out, and also because Tiberius' crusher is a bit higher than Razer's I think. Hogwild94 (talk) 18:11, 20 September 2020 (UTC)
Winner: Razer (9-2)

Tsunami (11) vs Rosie the Riveter 2

Tsunami Rosie the Riveter 2
Tsunami 1
Rosie the Riveter II
Votes for Tsunami
  1. Like with most battles, if this were a series later, Tsunami would dominate. Here though, I do think the German flipper can win, but it will be a struggle. Initially, it will thrive, getting underneath the high ground clearance and flipping Rosie the Riveter 2, although the latter's bulky size will mean the American machine will stay in the arena. Problem is, Tsunami has limited gas, and I fear it may waste flips early on. As Tsunami becomes vulnerable, I think Rosie the Riveter 2 will achieve some decent pushes which will certainly give the Judges some headaches on who to send through. That said, Tsunami was also well-controlled, and so I can see it wedging underneath and stopping its foe's charges for a bit. Henceforth, the German to beat the American via a narrow Judges' decision. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 09:14, 20 September 2020 (UTC)
  2. What sways this for me is how easily Tsunami managed to flip Not Perfect around I feel the large shape of Rosie makes it just way too flippable and this will look good for the judges and will sway it for me.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 09:43, 20 September 2020 (UTC)
  3. Tsunami isn't going to be ruffled by Rosie pushing it about, and can score loads of points with good flips. Leave it upside-down and Rosie loses its wedge, allowing a Bigger Brother vs Tornado style end to the bout. Jimlaad43(talk) 11:37, 20 September 2020 (UTC)
  4. Great little fight, I'd love to see it. If Rosie has the lower wedge then it should win pretty comfortably, but I don't hugely rate its front clearance. If all you needed to beat Rosie was a lower wedge (like Snake Bite showed), then Tsunami's flips should make things much clearer. Still think that Rosie could be in the running thanks to the losers' melee though, would love to sneak it into the Top 8 to keep that Ragnabot success streak going. TOAST 14:07, 20 September 2020 (UTC)
  5. Another fight that honestly seems easy to decide. The crux of most of the US 'bots are a good flipper, and Tsunami is at least competent enough to get the necessary flip to cut off Rosie's offensive potential. From there, Tsunami just needs to control an upside-down Rosie and it'll get a win on the judges' through commanding the fight with control and aggression. --TheyCallMeDoot (*doot doot*) 17:09, 20 September 2020 (UTC)
  6. I feel like this should be a Tsunami win. Every time Rosie is inverted, Tsunami can punish the already-high-because-American-robot ground clearance with the now-inverted wedge. Considering what Snake Bite managed, I'm not even convinced that Rosie can outwedge it in a front-on situation. Thus, I have to say Tsunami takes a judges win. CrashBash (talk) 17:11, 20 September 2020 (UTC)
  7. Rosie should put up a decent fight, making it awkward for Tsunami, but I do struggle to see where it's scoring many points. Tsunami will keep getting flips in (particularly as Rosie tended not to lead with the wedge), and the occasional push from Rosie won't outweigh that. Combatwombat555 (talk) 17:37, 20 September 2020 (UTC)
  8. One flip will invert Rosie and render the wedge useless, and, unless Tsunami makes the mistake of righting it, which admittedly isn't that unthinkable given its track record, it should be on easy street from then on. Hogwild94 (talk) 18:13, 20 September 2020 (UTC)
Votes for Rosie the Riveter 2
  1. This could swing either way - Tsunami could dominate throughout or Rosie could dominate throughout. I think Tsunami will take the lead rather early here, it will get some brilliant flips in, but I don't think it can keep it up. Rosie can then take advantage and keep pushing Tsunami everywhere. I can't quite make my mind up on whether Rosie will pit Tsunami, but even if it doesn't, I think the decision will just swing towards it. Adster1005 09:27, 20 September 2020 (UTC)
Winner: Tsunami (8-1)

Behemoth vs Ming 3

Behemoth Ming 3
Behemoth 6
Ming 3
Votes for Behemoth
  1. Finally, I can vote for Behemoth! No matter your opinion of Behemoth, you have to give it credit for standing up to Razer on multiple occasions. This is bad news for Ming 3, because anything Razer struggles against, Ming 3 will really, really struggle with. I can see Behemoth exploiting Ming 3's long sides by lifting and toppling its foe from that angle. Ming 3 can self-right, but as per usual it will take time, enabling its opponent to shove it into harm in the mean time. Ming 3 could achieve one decent crush, like it did against Terrorhurtz in Series 5, but ultimately Behemoth's aggression should outweigh one damaging attack. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 09:14, 20 September 2020 (UTC)
  2. Behemoth reaching the second round of the Semi-Finals. That's almost a certainty on the cards here. Every time Behemoth topples Ming 3, it can take advantage. Eventually I see a pitting whilst Ming 3 takes it time to self-right. Adster1005 09:24, 20 September 2020 (UTC)
  3. Watch as Behemoth gets Razer in the next round lol. But yeah, as much as I don't like the post Series 5-pre Series 8 Behemoth I just can disagree this is an easy match. I feel Ming 3 would be the weakest link in this semi final.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 09:40, 20 September 2020 (UTC)
  4. Tsunami/Rosie needs some thought, this one doesn't. Given how close a fight Behemoth gave (an admittedly very unwell) Razer in Extreme, Ming 3 and its long sides and worse wedge shouldn't overcome it. Combatwombat555 (talk) 11:27, 20 September 2020 (UTC)
  5. Ming the Merked. Jimlaad43(talk) 11:38, 20 September 2020 (UTC)
  6. Very little to debate in this fight; Ming 3’s elongated sides and clearly weaker control than the likes of Razer means Behemoth will have a field day. Raz3r(talk) 12:21, 20 September 2020 (UTC)
  7. Fantastic to see Ming III simply get this far. TOAST 14:04, 20 September 2020 (UTC)
  8. Dare I brag? I've seen this exact battle at a live event, many years back. It was literally a no-contest, one-and-done. CrashBash (talk) 15:13, 20 September 2020 (UTC)
  9. Ming 3 is just no Razer... unlike Razer, who's also here. Behemoth will easily push Ming 3 into the pit without any resistance. --TheyCallMeDoot (*doot doot*) 17:10, 20 September 2020 (UTC)
  10. Pretty straight forwards flip, push and eventually put win for Beyermoth here. Hogwild94 (talk) 18:13, 20 September 2020 (UTC)

  1. An interesting clash, but one I feel Stinger will take the overall advantage. Ming in theory is the weakest and can't do much to either opponent on the surface...however, with Rosie continually running up its wedge, I feel it will be able to at least get a decent few amount of clamps, thus countering the many aggressive rams that Rosie would have otherwise been doing. Stinger, meanwhile, will do what it does best - continually get in the face of the other two and keep hammering away. With all the aggression and receiving relatively little in return from the others as they try to focus on each other, Stinger has to take this for me. CrashBash (talk) 10:46, 22 September 2020 (UTC)
Votes for Rosie the Riveter 2
  1. Bit of a headache, this one, but I shall back the American here. Overall, I see no knockouts occurring; even with its exposed wheels, Ming 3 should be able to resist Stinger's blows. But in general, I do not see Ming 3 being effective in this melee, because its narrow wedge should result in Stinger being capable of driving away, whereas the long sides are heat magnets for Rosie the Riveter 2 to target, rather than being dumb enough to attack head on. Therefore, with Ming 3 out, I think Rosie the Riveter 2 should come out on top. Not only does it have some great pushing power that will trouble the axlebot, it also has very good protection thanks to its frame and wheels capable of surviving more than a few poundings. Therefore, while certainly being the least damaging here, Rosie the Riveter 2's aggression and control output should overwhelm the two British machines, giving it the win via a Judges' decision.
