Round 1

King B Remix vs Anarchy

King B Remix Anarchy
KingBRemix
Anarchy
Votes for King B Remix
  1. Well, I for one am going to keep with the old guns. Yeah, Anarchy has the better weapons, but it's just much too slow, especially on the turn. Yeah, it's fast for a walker, but King B ain't no walker, sonny! If King B can keep pressuring from the side, I think it can take the judges. CrashBash (talk) 21:25, February 22, 2017 (UTC)
  2. Anarchy is over-achieving in my opinion, as this is now the third time in a row I am voting against it. People seem to forget how quick King B Remix was, and how wide Anarchy's sides are; seeing how King B Remix had decent control, what is to stop it simply attacking the sides throughout three minutes and winning on a Judges' decision? SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 08:28, February 23, 2017 (UTC)
  3. I can't really decide, so I'll replace the removed vote that once sat on this half. TOAST 13:55, February 23, 2017 (UTC)
Votes for Anarchy
  1. The big question here is this: Is King B Remix better than Tornado, or at least on par? I don't think so. By this point in the tournament, Anarchy will be practiced enough to not fire their weapons wrongly. One good flip or axe shot will be tough for King B to recover from, let alone a string of them. Jimlaad43(talk) 21:21, February 22, 2017 (UTC)
  2. Wow, a rehash of the old rivalry! I must go for Anarchy here though, as King B is just too outdated unfortunately. But a great run nonetheless. Hogwild94 (talk) 21:26, February 22, 2017 (UTC)
  3. Anarchy is my one chance of picking up points in the sweepstake and it's facing perfect opposition to start with. King B isn't close to Tornado's standards and I can see Anarchy winning via damage and aggression. Raz3r(talk) 22:12, February 22, 2017 (UTC)
  4. King B's drill-spikes actually stand a better chance of doing something than Tornado's spike, but it's just a weaker version. Flips will do more (it didn't like getting flipped by TR2 or Dantomkia), and that axe will go straight through the top. Combatwombat555 (talk) 22:27, February 22, 2017 (UTC)
  5. King B Remix is certainly capable of some good side on rams to rack up the aggression points, but I'm not sure how effective it will be a forcing Anarchy backwards. Sadly, it won't matter either way, because I just can't trust King B Remix to withstand Anarchy's hits to even take it to a judges' decision. A good axe attack or two and a strong flip should put paid to King B Remix. Nweston8 (talk) 02:49, February 23, 2017 (UTC)
  6. King B's fast but unfortunately it tends to flip and flop about every time it rams something haven't you noticed? Anarchy, though slower, will act like a block and with the flipper and axe cause some pressure.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 07:03, February 23, 2017 (UTC)
  7. Right, fourth time trying to put my votes in, and while King B could ram into the sides, picture its fight with Dominator 2 and recreate that with Anarchy. CaliforniaKingsnake (talk) 08:41, February 23, 2017 (UTC)
  8. It may go to a judges decision, and I just can't see King B causing a much damage as Anarchy will. --Voyanuitoa (talk) 09:42, February 23, 2017 (UTC)
  9. A long-term rivalry is rekindled once again, and I for one feel this is too tough to call. King B is much faster across the arena than the eight legs of Anarchy, and I'd even go as far as saying that its front forks could jab through the plastic plates protecting Anarchy's legs. However, its high ground clearance always gave it a tendency to drive over and flip itself over whenever it tried to push opponents, and will leave it especially vulnerable to getting flipped by Anarchy if it tries to ram from the front or rear. One blow from the axe could also end up cleaving through the top panel. Too close to call, but King B's shortcomings will give Anarchy the edge, I feel. Long live King B. Spawn Again vs M.R. Speed Squared

Spawn Again M.R. Speed Squared

Votes for Spawn Again
  1. Will Revenge of Revenge of Trouble & Strife get revenge for Revenge of Trouble & Strife? I don't think so. Spawn will get under and flip Revenge of Revenge of Trouble & Strife, and I don't think it will survive landing on its side well. Spawn will survive the hits long enough to get that flip in. Jimlaad43(talk) 21:21, February 22, 2017 (UTC)
  2. Go forth my only Sweepstake hope! And triumph! Toon Ganondorf (t c) 21:22, February 22, 2017 (UTC)
  3. Spawn Again wins this one, no matter how well its opponent is working. Hogwild94 (talk) 21:27, February 22, 2017 (UTC)
  4. A few flips and the disc will be M.R. Speed Squared by zero. Also if it gets flipped over and pushed into a house robot, they're gonna have a field day with that exposed machinery. I wish I could take M.R. Speed Squared more seriously, but....well, if they return for Series 9, I hope it isn't a one-battle wonder. CrashBash (talk) 21:28, February 22, 2017 (UTC)
  5. No revenge here, my dark horse for the Top 8 cruises through with some big flips. Raz3r(talk) 22:14, February 22, 2017 (UTC)
  6. Don't want to eliminate M.R. Speed Squared- definitely the best name in Series 8, if nothing else- but some big flips will do it in. Maybe after Speed Squared scars Spawn's sides, but that won't be enough. Combatwombat555 (talk) 22:29, February 22, 2017 (UTC)
  7. If this was a first round battle, I'd be a bit more split in my decision, but after many battles, M.R. Speed Squared will be worn down, and its ring just won't be able to have any consistency in its speed. Spawn Again will win, probably after a good few flips and an eventual slide into the pit. Nweston8 (talk) 02:49, February 23, 2017 (UTC)
  8. Can't deny these points.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 07:07, February 23, 2017 (UTC)
  9. M.R. Speed Squared was one of my sweepstakes, but (oddly enough), is my weakest. Unless it can somehow outmanuever Spawn Again when the latter tries to flip it, and damage the mechanics inside, M.R. Speed Squared is likely going to be flipped again and again, allowing Spawn Again to win a Judges' decision. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 08:28, February 23, 2017 (UTC)
  10. One-battle wonder is outta here. CaliforniaKingsnake (talk) 08:41, February 23, 2017 (UTC)
  11. There were few robots Speed Squared would beat at this stage of a competition, Spawn Again is not one of them. --Voyanuitoa (talk) 09:45, February 23, 2017 (UTC)
  12. M.R. Speed Squared to be thrown around like a frisbee. VulcansHowl 10:08, February 23, 2017 (UTC)
  13. Team Forsey no longer have Chip and NEATer Machine to die before them, Speed Round will be flipped until their weapon packs up, no way back from there. TOAST 13:57, February 23, 2017 (UTC)

Pressure vs Suicidal Tendencies

Pressure Suicidal Tendencies
Pressure
SuicidalTendenciesS5
Votes for Pressure
  1. I'll give this to Pressure, on the loose grounds that ST's front scoop was quite often off the ground IIRC, and would thus find it hard to get underneath Pressure's scooped front, back and sides. Hogwild94 (talk) 21:28, February 22, 2017 (UTC)
  2. After spending some time thinking this one over, I feel that Suicidal Tendencies' ground clearance could pose a major problem for it here. As Hogwild94 pointed out, even the scoop had a substantial part of it which was raised high off the ground, which Pressure could easily exploit if it avoids the crusher and uses both its lifters to good effect. Close, but if Suicidal Tendencies cannot get a grip on Pressure, Pressure will lift, shove and win the judges' decision. VulcansHowl 10:08, February 23, 2017 (UTC)
Votes for Suicidal Tendencies
  1. Pressure is decent, but ST's crusher is the deciding factor, as it can do the business on damage, and maybe drag Pressure into the pit. Jimlaad43(talk) 21:21, February 22, 2017 (UTC)
  2. Die, sweepstake robot, die! Toon Ganondorf (t c) 21:23, February 22, 2017 (UTC)
  3. And an easy victory for Suicidal Tendencies, and poor Pressure once again outclassed in the Quarter Finals of Ragnabot. CrashBash (talk) 21:28, February 22, 2017 (UTC)
  4. ST continues to defy my round one prediction, and good on them. Its crusher can damage the armour or simply grip Pressure and pit them. Raz3r(talk) 22:24, February 22, 2017 (UTC)
  5. Suicidal Tendencies was more manoeuvrable and should keep getting side on, but what mainly decides it for me is that the Pressure side-flaps just seemed to open and close at random during its battles- Cedric Slammer took advantage and caused fairly severe damage, I think Suicidal Tendencies can do the same, use them to grab hold and take Pressure to the hazards. Combatwombat555 (talk) 22:38, February 22, 2017 (UTC)
  6. Suicidal Tendencies certainly isn't without its flaws, but its consistently driven and will cause plenty enough damage to the Pressure, which has very weak spells in battles. Nweston8 (talk) 02:49, February 23, 2017 (UTC)
  7. What they said.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 07:08, February 23, 2017 (UTC)
  8. If Pressure could ultimately flip Suicidal Tendencies early on, then it has won, because the latter's crusher and wedge will be out of action. However, Pressure could only lift opponents at best, and the fact that Suicidal Tendencies likely has the lower wedge and better weapons means it should win a Judges' decision. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 08:28, February 23, 2017 (UTC)
  9. Easy. CaliforniaKingsnake (talk) 08:41, February 23, 2017 (UTC)

Cedric Slammer vs Meshuggah

Cedric Slammer Meshuggah
Cedricslammer
Meshuggah
Votes for Cedric Slammer
  1. Cedric has the better flywheel, and has better armour to survive the hits. Therefore Meshuggah won't stand a chance. Jimlaad43(talk) 21:21, February 22, 2017 (UTC)
  2. Routine win for the more powerful and potent spinner. Hogwild94 (talk) 21:29, February 22, 2017 (UTC)
  3. Fun fact - I did my own line-up for the top 64, as a tester, and guess what? These two ended up fighting each other straight off the bat. I can't entirely remember my logic, but I think it was the fact that Cedric Slammer has the heavier disc that swung it...and it's more reliable. CrashBash (talk) 21:30, February 22, 2017 (UTC)
  4. Even by looking at the image you can tell that CS has the bigger and more powerful blade and as Team Hypno-Disc once said in the Ultimate Warrior Collection "the wider the blade the more destructive" therefore the wider the better.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 07:09, February 23, 2017 (UTC)
Henceforth, why Hypno-Disc beat Pussycat in the Series 4 Grand Final. But in all seriousness, a wider blade means nothing unless either the two discs collide, it is control that will be the tide turner in reality. Although Cedric Slammer may have greater speed and a bigger blade, Meshuggah has the better control, meaning its disc is likely to deal more damage as a result. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 08:28, February 23, 2017 (UTC)
Ah Yes because turning your robot with exposed tires and fighting a faster robot weren't factors... CS's wheels are way more protected than HypnosDiotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 09:23, February 23, 2017 (UTC)
  5. Reliability is my reason for this side voting. CaliforniaKingsnake (talk) 08:41, February 23, 2017 (UTC)
  6. I'm going to have to go with the reliability argument as well. --Voyanuitoa (talk) 09:52, February 23, 2017 (UTC)
  7. A good horizontal spinner could easily disable Cedric Slammer, but against a vertical spinner, its wheels seem reasonably well protected. Reliability is a bit of a non-factor, as both robots have had breakdowns that are hard to justify, but they worked in their other fights. Ultimately I think Meshuggah is more likely to lose the use of its weapon, and its armour doesn't seem as good. Cedric Slammer goes beyond Chaos 2, meaning the double champion has fallen while the other 'strong' contenders from its heat such as G-Force and Ruf Ruf Dougal remain... TOAST 14:05, February 23, 2017 (UTC)
Votes for Meshuggah
  1. Yes, Cedric Slammer has the better disc, and may be slightly more reliable, but that is about it. At least Meshuggah's wheels and welding were protected; Cedric Slammer's was not, with even Sir Killalot's lance causing damage to it I believe. A few blows from Meshuggah's disc should be enough for the win. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 21:33, February 22, 2017 (UTC)
  2. Both robots can win this, but I see Meshuggah being more likely to damage armour enough to reach the wheels and hinder the opposition's movement from there. Raz3r(talk) 22:28, February 22, 2017 (UTC)
  3. If Meshuggah can survive this without breaking down, it can deal enough damage to bend Cedric Slammer's chassis and possibly flip it over once. Considering how unreliable Cedric Slammer's srimech was, a one-flip KO is very likely here. VulcansHowl 10:08, February 23, 2017 (UTC)
Winner: Cedric Slammer (7-3)

Black Hole vs S3

Black Hole S3
BlackHole
S3 Profile
Votes for Black Hole

#Overall, I think Black Hole is more likely to survive the hits S3 deals out, rather than the other way around. S3 has exposed wheels which can be attacked anad damaged. Once that's happened, S3 is stuck. Jimlaad43(talk) 21:21, February 22, 2017 (UTC)

  1. Oh hoo, I've been too-and-fro about this one, believe me - I genuinely couldn't make up my mind for long periods. Black Hole is nippy and compact, and with S3 being so long, when Black Hole attacks it in close-combat, Black Hole could easily cause vital damage to the wheels because of the way S3 always swings around and naturally leaves itself open; however, Black Hole's compactness could also haunt it here, because I'm not sure how well it will tank a large blow from S3. Overall, I'm not fully convinced either way - it really is a battle that has so many variables that could change the result if they faced each other multiple times, but I will back Black Hole because I believe it is zippy enough and always assertive enough to cause damage as S3 twists and moves - and that is the real deciding factor for me. Although S3 could easily win with a strong blow, I'm more inclined to believe that Black Hole's fundamentals against S3 put it in stronger stead than S3's fundamentals do to beat Black Hole. Black Hole to take a judges' decision with the consistent churning and damage it will inflict. Nweston8 (talk) 02:49, February 23, 2017 (UTC)
  2. Another tough draw. Two potent vertical spinners, each capable of flipping and inflicting substantial damage to each other. Both have an equal chance of winning, but I feel that after re-watching their most dominant battles back-to-back (S3 vs Shredder, Black Hole vs Zeus), Black Hole is much more relentless with its discs, which will give it a major advantage over the more precise, but ultimately more hesitant S3. Black Hole to win the judges' decision on aggression and control if S3's wheels and armour hold out. VulcansHowl 10:08, February 23, 2017 (UTC)
Votes for S3
  1. I don't buy that one, for Black Hole to attack S3's wheels they would have to avoid S3's centre of mass which would be very silly. S3 can aim for Black Holes body and deal out the damage. Toon Ganondorf (t c) 21:28, February 22, 2017 (UTC)
  2. S3 is too maneuverable for Black Hole's tiny discs to catch in the right place, and its own disc can easily take on the armour. Hogwild94 (talk) 21:30, February 22, 2017 (UTC)
  3. I can see the argument for Black Hole, but I wonder if its small size will be a hindrance here. If S3 catches, it'll either cause some damage or flip Black Hole over, and as we know, Black Hole is useless inverted. CrashBash (talk) 21:31, February 22, 2017 (UTC)
  4. Black Hole could go flying into orbit if S3 makes a connection. I'm prepared to bet S3's weapon causes bigger damage per hit and there could be an immobilisation. S3 may have looked cumbersome, but it was well controlled and should have this. Raz3r(talk) 22:32, February 22, 2017 (UTC)
  5. Black Hole will be torn to pieces by the large hammerhead of S3.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 07:10, February 23, 2017 (UTC)
  6. More experience, bigger disc. CaliforniaKingsnake (talk) 08:41, February 23, 2017 (UTC)
  7. All S3 needs is one hit to toss Black Hole around, I think they are going to get it. --Voyanuitoa (talk) 09:56, February 23, 2017 (UTC)
  8. I don't think Black Hole has the accuracy needed to slice through S3's tyre, and although it could land some blows, the only robot I can see scoring a knockout is the overwhelming power of S3's flywheel. Casting our minds all the way back to Heat A, DisConstructor vs Black Hole would've been fun. TOAST 14:08, February 23, 2017 (UTC)
  9. I always wanted to be on this side of the vote, but I didn't think S3 had much of a chance. I was willing to be persuaded, and I have now been persuaded to swap. Jimlaad43(talk) 14:33, February 23, 2017 (UTC)
Winner: S3 (2-9)

M2 vs Chaos 2

M2 Chaos 2
M2
Chaos 2 S6
Votes for M2
  1. A good few battles here are the same weapon, and it comes down to which is better. Both performed well overall, and fell to very strong flippers (Atomic and Dantomkia respectively). However, M2 still managed to dominate Atomic a lot in that battle, while Chaos 2 only got one flip in. M2 for me. Jimlaad43(talk) 21:21, February 22, 2017 (UTC)
Forgive me for saying this, but how did M2 dominate a lot of the Atomic battle in any way? I saw a 10 second period where M2 were on top after a couple of flips and that's about it. Raz3r(talk) 07:18, February 23, 2017 (UTC)
  2. Ooh now this is a curious matchup. Let's get the elephant in the room out of the way first, the two have fought before. Chaos 2 held an early lead, but in the end, M2 pulled it back, and Chaos 2 couldn't recover when they were turned over. M2 gave them a helping hand, but only because it was a live event - in the arena, M2 would leave them. If M2 were in the same position, they could either roll over or self-right. I think this real battle is accurate to how this would play out in the arena, Chaos 2 failed to self-right far too many times, and at some point, M2 will get the knockout flip. TOAST 21:31, February 22, 2017 (UTC)
Chaos 2 had M2 immobilised before that, by pinning them a la Firestorm Ripper. So that's something that needs to be said off the bat (as I've said in my vote) Toon Ganondorf (t c) 21:37, February 22, 2017 (UTC)
Here's the thing though...would such an action be possible in the 2016 arena? CrashBash (talk) 21:40, February 22, 2017 (UTC)
Exactly what Crash said. A curved robot can't be pinned on a curved wall. TOAST 21:48, February 22, 2017 (UTC)
  3. I had to sit down and really think about this one. This a very tough battle, and both have their strengths. Chaos 2 has by far the better driver, arguably the lower ground clearance and is probably more likely to score an OOTA in the new arena. M2, on the other hand, has a body shape that does not rely on using its flipper to right itself, and also probably has more gas for its flipper. Since I feel an OOTA is unlikely, I have to go on the basis of who will likely last. And, well, I think it'll be M2 who lasts just a little bit longer. The fact that both the fights at live events, where they got one-a-piece, both occurred in 2002 doesn't really help, so...yeah, I'm sticking with my guns, and my first sweepstake robot. Won't be too mad if it loses, it's probably the weakest of the three. CrashBash (talk) 21:49, February 22, 2017 (UTC)
  4. Trickiest of the round. Chaos 2 has the more powerful flipper, yes, but at the expense of number of flips. I really can't see either robot getting an OotA in this arena, so whilst Chaos 2 has the lower ground clearance and should get more flips initially it won't be able to finish M2 off, and that'll leave it vulnerable once the gas starts running dry. Really, it's just Bigger Brother against Chaos 2 again. Combatwombat555 (talk) 22:44, February 22, 2017 (UTC)
  5. Tough call but the above arguments persuaded me in the end. M2 can always count on it's shape to self-right. Chaos 2 could end up out of gas and stuck on its backside. StalwartUK 00:03, February 23, 2017 (UTC)
  6. This side swayed me the most since Chaos 2 runs out of gas relatively quickly, M2 just kept flipping. CaliforniaKingsnake (talk) 08:41, February 23, 2017 (UTC)
  7. M2 is the more reliable self-righter. It'll be Chaos 2 vs Bigger Brother again. --Voyanuitoa (talk) 10:31, February 23, 2017 (UTC)
  8. In hindsight, Chaos 2 should've lost to Grim Reaper and should lose to M2 here as well. GutripperSpeak 10:38, February 23, 2017 (UTC)
Votes for Chaos 2
  1. We saw this battle on Facebook, and both robots got a KO at one point before rescuing the other. Why is key is that Chaos 2, despite losing gas faster, got the KO first. Toon Ganondorf (t c) 21:25, February 22, 2017 (UTC)
  2. Chaos 2 actually defeated M2 in 2002, and that was during a four minute battle. In a three minute battle, Chaos 2, with its better control I should note, should have no trouble. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 21:27, February 22, 2017 (UTC)
  3. M2's ground clearance makes this a fairly comfortable win for the more experienced Chaos 2. Hogwild94 (talk) 21:30, February 22, 2017 (UTC)
  4. Two hyper-aggressive robots, but the differences I see are that Chaos 2 is more controlled, less wasteful with flips and has a better ground clearance at the front, which is crucial in a battle where I see a few head-ons occurring. Raz3r(talk) 22:35, February 22, 2017 (UTC)
  5. Hard choice. The Live event battle did end up with M2 winning but can't deny that Chaos 2 was the far more aggressive and controlled before the last minute.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 07:13, February 23, 2017 (UTC)
  6. Yet another close draw, but for this one I'll have to rely on the evidence from that live battle. Both robots landed sizeable flips for a good portion of that battle, but while M2 was more aggressive at the start and had Chaos 2 beached close to the end of the first three minutes, Chaos 2 for me was more consistent and dominant in between those parts of the fight, and surprisingly efficient with its CO2 usage there. I'm picturing this battle to go a similar way, with both robots surviving to a judges' decision and Chaos 2 winning the decision for landing more flips on M2. VulcansHowl 10:08, February 23, 2017 (UTC)

Terrorhurtz vs Twisted Metal Evo

Terrorhurtz Twisted Metal Evo
Terrorhurtz 2016
TwistedmetalevoDRW
Votes for Terrorhurtz
  1. If Terrorhurtz's axe had allowed them to self-right against Behemoth, they would have been finalists in Series 8, I doubt Carbide would have won the rematch. That one mishap means we have here one of the underrated favourites. Twisted Metal is a much weaker Carbide, so Terrorhurtz will easily boss the battle. Jimlaad43(talk) 21:21, February 22, 2017 (UTC)
  2. Can I just point out that just an hour after allocation, Gutripper has lost two sweepstake robots and is now down to just Dougal? Toon Ganondorf (t c) 21:27, February 22, 2017 (UTC)
  3. Terrorhurtz has evolved to the point where spinners are no longer the real issue they were, it even stood up to Carbide pretty good, so it can stand up here no problem. Hogwild94 (talk) 21:31, February 22, 2017 (UTC)
  4. We know Terrorhurtz can tank Carbide. We used that logic to decide it could tank the weaker Disc-O-Inferno. I think we can use that logic again to say it can tank the FAR weaker Twisted Metal Evo. CrashBash (talk) 21:33, February 22, 2017 (UTC)

Silver dominator 2
Votes for Tornado
  1. We saw this battle. Dominator may have been slightly on top before they drove into the pit, but Tornado will eventually turn it around anyway, to be victorious. Jimlaad43(talk) 21:21, February 22, 2017 (UTC)
  2. Seen it. Even though there's no real way that can happen again, Tornado was winning anyway. Hogwild94 (talk) 21:32, February 22, 2017 (UTC)
  3. Thinking back to that fight, it really makes me wonder what would have happened if Tornado had ended up falling into the pit. Would that have counted as a win for Dominator? Would the judges have viewed it as interference on Matilda's part? Yeah, I know Tornado drove into her, but the house robots still shouldn't really be the ones responsible for eliminating a perfectly mobile robot (I.E. The reason I hate Series 2 and Extreme Warriors so much). If that was the case, then what? Would the judges have called a restart? Would they have judged it up to that point? It makes you wonder....either way, Tornado had Dominator under complete control, it should win. CrashBash (talk) 21:37, February 22, 2017 (UTC)
I doubt you HATE them. I've also noticed that in the main heats of Extreme Warriors 2, the House Robots didn't pick on mobile robots unless it was Psycho Chicken, which survived just like Evolution. TOAST 21:52, February 22, 2017 (UTC)
They certainly seemed way too trigger happy in the latter, often charging into action without provocation, and in the former...well, you overshot the PPZ line by 1mm and the House Robots came in and absolutely destroyed you. For more, see the absolute farce that was the Reserve Rumble. Yeah, I really can't stand Series 2 in retrospect. CrashBash (talk) 21:56, February 22, 2017 (UTC)
  4. Dominator II was the favourite in its heat, and yet King B Remix and Sabretooth may outperform it here. TOAST 21:52, February 22, 2017 (UTC)
  5. While you can't simply claim this as a Tornado win because they've already fought, I can see Dominator 2 missing a lot of axe blows against the crafty box bot. Tornado is definitely in the driving seat for pushing Dominator 2 side on. Whether it ends in a pitting or not, I can't see Tornado losing. Raz3r(talk) 22:43, February 22, 2017 (UTC)
  6. I can see the case for Dominator 2 winning this, pepper-potting the top with the axe should do reasonable damage and may catch something vital, but it's more likely that Tornado just does the usual and takes control of the battle with the scoop. Combatwombat555 (talk) 22:53, February 22, 2017 (UTC)
  7. It's those long sides... it's just those long sides... sigh. As visually striking as Dominator 2 appears with its design, those long sides will just get exploited for fun by Tornado, which could pit Dominator 2 very, very easily here if it wants to. Votes for Dominator 2
  1. I'm surprised, no, appalled that this is unanimous so far. Tornado only beat Dominator last time because of mistimed driving. They were on top during that battle up until that moment. Next point, what has Dominator 2 lost to properly? 13 Black, Hypno-Disc, Wild Thing and Pussycat. See any similarities between them? All are powerful spinners. What is Tornado? Not a powerful spinner. Tornado can run away as much as it wants, but Dominator can easily get them with the axe and score damage and aggression points. Tornado can't gain aggression points with that charity scoop because it is just a wedge that would get them disqualified anyway because of primary weapon nons- anyway. This fight is a lot like Dominator vs SMIDSY, only thing is that Tornado might be able to dodge some of the axe blows, but it'll still lose the judges' decision. CaliforniaKingsnake (talk) 08:41, February 23, 2017 (UTC)
Technically, Tornado would be using its scoop with chain flail, so no need to worry about disqualification there. CrashBash (talk) 08:57, February 23, 2017 (UTC)

M2 vs S3

M2 S3
M2
S3 Profile
Votes for M2
  1. Now, I think it's fair we assume S3 does not try to put on its disasterous "anti-flipper" plates, because, frankly, that'll just backfire. Nonetheless, its history against flippers speaks for itself and I can't trust it. CrashBash (talk) 21:43, February 24, 2017 (UTC)
  2. I should note that with battles being three minutes rather than five, can S3 cause enough damage in time to outweigh M2's flips? Judging from its battles with Bigger Brother and Firestorm, I honestly cannot say it will, since M2 will exploit S3's ground clearance and flip it around, preventing its disc from attacking. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 21:55, February 24, 2017 (UTC)
Votes for S3
  1. As Tiberius showed, M2's armour is weak. Pussycat's disc is more of a shredder rather than the high damage flywheel, which will do a much better job of deflecting M2 away. It allows them less time to flip, and M2 isn't quite the right shape of flipper to deal with S3 as much as others like Bigger Brother and Firestorm. Jimlaad43(talk) 21:36, February 24, 2017 (UTC)
  2. S3's flywheel will rack up massive damage on the bubble gum armour and M2's flipper is far too low range to throw S3 out of the Arena. M2 was very powerful but was better at throwing boxes, not axlebots, who need to be scooped up and thrown, Toon Ganondorf (t c) 22:09, February 24, 2017 (UTC)
  3. I'll vote on the rest when I'm free in an hour or so, but I wanted to get my vote in on this one while I have a five minute space to. Now, we know S3 has had a trouble past against flippers, however, there are many different styles of flipper robots with different flippers. S3 has been exploited by Firestorm and Bigger Brother, but I think these were the two robots most suited for S3, with one having the pace and aggression to bully S3 around the arena in Firestorm, while Bigger Brother was able to hook underneath S3 and hoist it up into the air because of how long the front blade of its flipper is and because its arm goes up so high. Here, though, I'm not convinced that M2 can be explosive enough or bullish enough with a flipper that doesn't reach out particularly far at all and doesn't lift as high as Bigger Brother. M2 will still get flips in, but I can see most of its attacks being like what happened for the most part against Pussycat, where it feels the need to rumble S3 over time and time again because it will struggle to drive S3 back for the most part. I can also see S3 evading a lot of M2's flips with its erratic turning on the spot when M2 drives at it. I see a very good battle happening, and although both robots will trade blows and M2 will get a good amount of flips in, I'm not sure it will do enough to outweigh what I see as a lot of very strong hits from S3. A great match-up nevertheless. Nweston8 (talk) 22:21, February 24, 2017 (UTC)
  4. Battle of the boring names. The team said they didn't like flippers, but M2's not quite in the same league as Bigger Brother or Firestorm. It's not quite as low, the flipper doesn't open quite as far as Bigger Brother's, I would suggest it's not quite as well driven, the armour's not quite as good, and as TG said it's not quite as good as dealing with axlebots... It's just a case of 'not quite' for M2 here, unfortunately, the weak armour's going to cost it against a disc as powerful as S3's, and it's going to find S3 a very awkward opponent to deal with. Combatwombat555 (talk) 23:04, February 24, 2017 (UTC)
  5. M2's flipper isn't good for tackling S3. Bigger Brother only managed the OotA because it got stuck on its front, and without the extra thing, I can't see M2 pulling off the same trick. Hogwild94 (talk) 23:13, February 24, 2017 (UTC)
  6. I guess if it's any consolation, The Grim Reaper and Chaos 2 wouldn't have won this battle either. I agree with Nweston's summary; M2's shape of flipper is not good for fighting S3; it's more in line with Dantomkia than Firestorm 5 or Bigger Brother. Sorry Toast, but I could be some big damage in this fight. Raz3r(talk) 23:46, February 24, 2017 (UTC)
  7. Many have heard of tactical voting, but here I attempted tactical non-voting, in the hopes M2 would maintain its lead. Sadly that lead was short-lived, because while I believe M2 would win this in the old arena with an OotA or pitting, it's simply not feasible in this arena where it will suffer badly. TOAST 00:46, February 25, 2017 (UTC)
  8. Pussycat's arguably weaker blade caused severe damage to M2 and Tiberius rekt it until it was flipped in the last second. M2 will struggle to properly flip S3 without being torn.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 07:11, February 25, 2017 (UTC)
  9. Not much more to say, M2's armour is weak and its flipper is the wrong shape to deal with S3. --Voyanuitoa (talk) 08:30, February 25, 2017 (UTC)
  10. S3 has a history of succumbing to potent flippers, but I agree with the general consensus that M2's flipper won't be the right shape to flip S3 over as effectively or as Firestorm or Bigger Brother, no matter how persistent it is. S3 could land several hard hits on M2 which will tear through that polycarbonate plating, and possibly flip it a couple of times, which will give it the advantage on damage when it goes to the judges. VulcansHowl 09:01, February 25, 2017 (UTC)

Suicidal Tendencies vs Anarchy

Votes for Suicidal Tendencies
  1. Suicidal Tendencies' claw might well be the wrong height to crush Anarchy, OK, fair enough. But who's to say it'll use its claw? Why not instead use its scoop? It does have the ability to lift and yeah, whilst it might not be the be-all-and-end-all, if it can keep to Anarchy's sides, then it'll avoid the weapons and score a lot of aggression points. It's by far the quicker and more agile. CrashBash (talk) 21:45, February 24, 2017 (UTC)
  2. Four times in a row now that I have voted against Anarchy. Originally, I was going to vote for it, believing that if it can get a good flip in on its opponent, it can dominate from there. However, the idea of using the wedge on Anarchy's sides, and Suicidal Tendencies' faster speed compared to the walker, have convinced me to again vote against Anarchy. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 21:58, February 24, 2017 (UTC)
  3. Given it is one of my sweepstakes, I'm backing ST. I think the wedge will make it easier to push Anarchy side on. Sam (BAZINGA) 22:06, February 24, 2017 (UTC)
Votes for Anarchy
  1. This is Anarchy vs Bonk again. ST's weapon is the wrong height to deal with Anarchy properly, which means the now well practiced Anarchy can get in some good flips and axe blows. The top of ST is weak and should get some nice perforations from the axe. Jimlaad43(talk) 21:36, February 24, 2017 (UTC)
  2. I don't like inventing arsenals for ST - it has a crusher and that's it. Anarchy will flip around to victory. Toon Ganondorf (t c) 22:12, February 24, 2017 (UTC)
Nobody is "inventing arsenals". Suicidal Tendencies does have a scoop, it is perfectly active and whilst it likely won't flip Anarchy, it could still lift and bother it. CrashBash (talk) 22:57, February 24, 2017 (UTC)
  3. The crusher can do nothing. The scoop can do more, but will it tip Anarchy over? Nope. I can see Suicidal Tendencies getting side on and attempting to push, but getting side on will only get so many aggression points when it can't do anything when it gets there. Meanwhile, Anarchy gets the odd axe blow- decent damage- or the odd flip- technically damage as well I guess, removing a robot's ability to use its weapon (well, even more so than Anarchy has already simply by being tall)- which will in itself be aggressive and do more damage than Suicidal Tendencies could hope to do here. Combatwombat555 (talk) 23:04, February 24, 2017 (UTC)
  4. Has to be Anarchy for me here. ST's scoop isn't going to get underneath, and without that, the weapon is useless. The axe of Anarchy can easily cause damage and the flipper will prove decisive against this ST, which isn't as invertible as the rest. Hogwild94 (talk) 23:15, February 24, 2017 (UTC)
  5. Even if Anarchy wasn't my sweepstake, I'd still back it. I can't see any of ST's weapons troubling them, and Anarchy can reply with axe blows on top of the exposed top, or could flip them over and leave both weapons useless. Even if they do somehow get underneath, there's absolutely no way Suicidal Tendencies can push Anarchy either; in fact I imagine Anarchy is the far superior pusher if either robots get a side-on against their opponent. ST is going out 4 rounds later than I expected. Raz3r(talk) 23:51, February 24, 2017 (UTC)
  6. I'd love to vote for Suicidal Tendencies but I just can't. Yes, it can nag at times but can it cause good damage or properly drag Anarchy around? I can't see how so. Suicidal Tendencies is hardly going to outmanoeuvre Anarchy either, and I can see this being decided in a judges decision after Anarchy brings its weapons into play. Suicidal Tendencies will try, but it won't finish Anarchy off, which will cost it. Nweston8 (talk) 00:33, February 25, 2017 (UTC)
  7. I'm not sure if the dimensions on Anarchy's page include the height of its axe or not, if not then Anarchy would be taller than ST. Either way I can't see ST being able to control Anarchy enough to win. --Voyanuitoa (talk) 08:35, February 25, 2017 (UTC)
  8. Close, but I am struggling to see what Suicidal Tendencies can do here. Sure, it can get underneath Anarchy and grab it from the sides, but if Tornado struggled to push Anarchy sideways using the spike, Suicidal Tendencies will have major difficulty trying to gain enough traction to push it around with the scoop and crusher. All Anarchy needs to do is to flip and axe Suicidal Tendencies a few times when it comes into range with either weapon, and that will be enough for it to secure the judges' decision on aggression and possibly damage. VulcansHowl 09:01, February 25, 2017 (UTC)
  9. While I do like the idea of ST using that scoop to lift up Anarchy's legs to crush the sides, but that's just ambitious thinking. CaliforniaKingsnake (talk) 10:38, February 25, 2017 (UTC)

Votes for Terrorhurtz
  1. Spawn was battered in Series 6. Both of these robots are better than that meeting, but Terrorhurtz is a lot better, and will still win. Jimlaad43(talk) 21:36, February 24, 2017 (UTC)
  2. Happened. CrashBash (talk) 21:45, February 24, 2017 (UTC)
  3. The "happened" rule does not apply here, since the Series 7 Spawn Again was much better than the Series 6 version. Despite this, the upgraded Terrorhurtz should be able to slam hard on Spawn Again's flipper, damaging it and eventually causing a knockout to occur. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 21:55, February 24, 2017 (UTC)
  4. Terrorhurtz didn't have to contend with the flipper because it didn't fire at any point, and I wish I had a Terrorhurtz v TR2/Apollo to get a better indication but sadly the points are very pro Terrorhurtz. I'm now relying on Axe Awe for my sweepstake and hopes of getting above one point. Toon Ganondorf (t c) 22:11, February 24, 2017 (UTC)
  5. The Series 8 Terrorhurtz has the added bonus of being more manoeuvrable and having a much more effective wedge than its Series 6 form, which will ensure that it gets under Spawn Again from the sides and push it around while simultaneously hacking away at it. The Series 7 Spawn Again will no doubt put up a much stronger showing, landing a few flips here and there, but Terrorhurtz should get the measure on all three categories if Spawn Again survives the inevitable pummelling. 8. Gutted to see my ambitious prediction hit the fan. Both robots have improved immensely since Series 6, and I can see Spawn getting a flip or two in, but in the end Terrorhurtz will outlast Spawn Again and smash them. Shame, because Spawn Again could have beaten at least 5 of the other quarter-finalists, possibly 6. Raz3r(talk) 23:54, February 24, 2017 (UTC)
  9. Terrorhurtz is that well rounded that it could probably beat a machine as good as Spawn Again just by driving it around the arena. It'll cause very notable damage with its axe. Nweston8 (talk) 00:33, February 25, 2017 (UTC)
  10. I was watching the 2006 UK Championships yesterday, and seeing Terrorhurtz do so well against old Storm II of all robots really cemented its immense abilities. Spawn won't respawn as they fall to Terrorhurtz Again. TOAST 00:44, February 25, 2017 (UTC)
