#The thing that, in my mind, really tips this Tsunami's way is that, if Tough as Nails does manage to get the grip, what then? #I'm going for TAN here. We've seen how easily it can deal with small robots that it can push from the side, and how even powerful flippers like Scraptosaur and Gravity can be quashed by TAN without hesitation. Tsunami is a good pusher and flipper, but I don't think its shape and size means it can be gripped like Bulldog Breed or Storm 2 were, so can't push back. TAN to open the pit and find a way to pressure Tsunami into it. #If we're comparing Series 7 Tussami with Series 10 TAN, I would refer to my Challenge the Champions where I'd back TAN to give Eruption a good fight, only this time I'd be more confident, able to snatch an easy shape to grab, and use superior push to do what it wants. #The fight that SpaceManiac brought up in Series 7 League is exactly what I would have used as a guide. Tough as Nails proved itself as a very curious counter to high-pressure flipper in its fight with Eruption, and there's no doubt in my mind that when Tsunami heads into the claws of TAN, the small size of the German robot will be irrelevant in whether or not the very quick-action crusher achieves a grip, and Tsunami's opening flip will throw both machines over at the same time. With the grip still active, and Tsunami inverted, Tough as Nails can then drive it into the pit. Funny how having a lower-pressure flipper like Bulldog Breed was the key to beating Tough as Nails! For the record, Panzer Mk 4 was the secret anti-TAN robot I was thinking of in this heat. <span style="font-family:Pirulen; font-size:10pt"><font color="maroon">T</font><font color="ff8c00">OAS</font><font color="maroon">T</font></span> 22:35, July 28, 2019 (UTC)

#Damn, looks like Tsunami loses to the crusher. There's nothing Tsunami can do to fend off TaN besides flipping and that'll do nothing in the long run. Eventually TaN's gonna be able to clamp down and pit the tidal wave to make it into the quarter-quarter(?) finals. --<span style="color:red">doot</span> <span style="color:red">(Formerly DemonOfTomorrow)</span> 22:46, July 28, 2019 (UTC)

#This was one of the battles I didn't want happen (why could we have decimated Spawn Again, that would make me please. GOD I hope Carbide meets it later along the line) and was one I dreaded. That said the ONLY robot I felt would be 50/50 on beating TaN was Drillzilla, this one I thought on and saw only one way...TaN grabbing hold, getting flipped a few times, grabbing hold and taking Tsunami where ever it wants, such as a hazard or House Robot. Tsunami will do well but it's just perfect for a grab.<font color="red">Diotoir</font><font color="black"> the</font><font color="red"> son</font><font color="black"> of</font><font color="red"> nemesis</font> (talk) 05:50, July 29, 2019 (UTC)

#So, Drillzilla is invertible, right? OK, still going to back Ripper regardless. I feel that its wedge is perfect for fending off a rambot like Drillzilla, similar to how Bigger Brother dealt with Tornado. By flipping early, Ripper can then get underneath Drillzilla's ground clearance and clamp the shufflebot, nullifying Drillzilla's pushing advantage. I think this is going to be a tactical match, with Ripper winning via achieving a couple of flips and intelligently using its design to its full advantage to win a judges' decision on aggression and control. #Drillzilla's 160kg, not 200kg, and the consensus was that Ripper could flip the heavier Jim Struts, so the flip is definitely on. I really really doubt that Drillzilla is invertible- on the bottom, the 'feet' extend right to the front and rear of the machine, compared to only the small 'window' on the top, if it got flipped it'd just judder around without making any progress in any direction. Even if it can't achieve the flip, I agree that Ripper's massive wedge is pretty perfect for controlling Drillzilla and the battle as a whole. #:That is true, but there's more to flipping than just weight - Ripper was able to get Refbot over, but initially struggled with Shunt, which is the lighter of the two House Robots. It's more or less the same logic here as far as I'm concerned - whilst yes I do believe Ripper would flip the heavier Jim Struts, a lot of that is down to how top-heavy it was. #May be in the minority here, but whilst Drillzilla has the power, Ripper has such scope for flipping, to negateany strong push, provided it keeps facing the right way. Datovidny (talk) 22:11, July 28, 2019 (UTC)

#I have never once believed that Drillzilla is invertible, the shufflers don't have legs on top, that is visible to the naked eye. An inverted Drillzilla would just vibrate in place, nothing more. One flip should do it for Ripper. <span style="font-family:Pirulen; font-size:10pt"><font color="maroon">T</font><font color="ff8c00">OAS</font><font color="maroon">T</font></span> 22:36, July 28, 2019 (UTC)

#I don't know if Ripper can flip 200kg over. But if it does, it'll have no effect on the invertible Drillzilla. Ripper may be relentless, but Drillzilla can be in return, and thos shufflers will be tough for Ripper to push back against. Ripper's body shell could be crumpled if it gets pushed into a wall or House Robot. I just don't see Ripper being able to counter Drillzilla's much more successful attacks all through the fight. #Honestly, Drillzilla was the big one coming into this heat. Could be cases for other 'bots being better, but I don't see how Ripper's gonna be able to counter Drillzilla's relentless aggression. The weapons may even stab into Ripper's ultra-thin armour and cause some damning damage that'll really set Ripper back if it goes to the judges'. However, I think Drillzilla's gonna pit the 'bot before that happens. --<span style="color:red">doot</span> <span style="color:red">(Formerly DemonOfTomorrow)</span> 22:49, July 28, 2019 (UTC)

#My issue with Ripper was it seemed incredibly weak. The armour looked almost paper thin and the robot was one of these "easy to push" ones. #Something of an honorary vote perhaps, but, in a fight where the weapons aren't going to do an awful lot, ground clearance and speed are likely to decide the winner, and A-Kill's the faster and lower machine. The lifter should be able to find Berserk 2's moderate ground clearance, and from there A-Kill can guide Berserk 2 into House Robots and use the thumper to rack up aggression points. I doubt Berserk 2's forklift will be used to much effect, the weight distribution's all wrong- it nearly caused the robot to topple over pretty much every time it was used, and now it's facing a machine 11kg heavier that's got sticky-out bits specifically to stop it going over. #Random.org delivers another awesome Heat Final matchup for us here as two completely unexpected robots find themselves dueling out for an unlikely heat victory in the face of some powerful robots. As much of a meme as it would have been, I just can't come up with any logical or believeable reasons in which A-Kill could come out on top in this encounter. 2 heats in and we could already beat Ragnabot 2's per-weight increase heat winners tally! Berserk will survive any attack by A-Kill's weapons and push back, probably finishing with a flip on A-Kill, ending its incredible run. #Berserk 2's survival against Hypno-Disc is the catalyst for me backing it over A-Kill. After all, A-Kill's discs are not on par with the Series 3 Hypno-Disc, so I doubt they could cause damage to its opponent if Hypno-Disc failed to. Further, the forklift is perfect for achieving a couple of lifts on A-Kill, while the axe can at least score decent aggression points. #So many American robots were far-more torquey and more nimble in close quarters than their UK counterparts at the time, and I'm supporting Panzer Mk4 to smother Spawn Again throughout. Spawn Again, while improved in Series 7, did still have issues, and it slowed significantly during Round 2 against R.O.C.S.. #Spawn Again was terribly unreliable even in Series 7. It's bulky design makes it easy to ram/push about and Panzer Mk can do just that job, being more speedier and was far more aggressive. Is it flippable? Yes but it's got good control to balance that to prevent the "flip of doom" especially considering this IS Spawn Again we're talking about, a robot that's flipped more dead or easy robots than actual competitive and alive machines...<font color="red">Diotoir</font><font color="black"> the</font><font color="red"> son</font><font color="black"> of</font><font color="red"> nemesis</font> (talk) 05:41, July 29, 2019 (UTC)

#Panzer Mk has no luck in the heats again. High ground clearance and no clear srimech is an unforgivable weakness and is endlessly exploitable by any robot with a shred of confidence in its flipper. Spawn Again is certainly the right kind of robot for this fight and can survive any pushing attack Panzer may try long enough to take its opportunity to flip Panzer onto its back. #Spawn Again at full functionality is the machine I’d back every time here. Only one or two flips will be needed, and while Panzer Mk 4 showed remarkable pace, Spawn Again was no slouch when it worked, and can easily breach the large ground clearance. Round 1[]

Ansgar's Revenge vs Berserk 2[]

Ansgar's Revenge Berserk 2
Ansgar's Revenge
Berserk 2
Votes for Ansgar's Revenge
1. Honourable vote for Ansgar's Revenge here. Sure, it may have been intermittent, but when it did move it was somewhat powerful. In fact, its lifter was capable of hoisting Dead Metal at one point. I don't think Berserk 2 is quite as aggressive as Das Gepäck was, so I trust Ansgar's Revenge to achieve a lucky lift on its opponent, leaving Berserk 2 unable to self-right. Great heat by the way, seeing as currently there is a great chance of a pre-weight increase robot making it to the finals. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 22:20, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
2. yeah, go on I'll side with Space here. NJGW (talk) 04:19, July 23, 2019 (UTC)
3. Looked straightforward for Berserk 2, but actually I agree. I can see Ansgar's Revenge struggling to move, Berserk 2 closing in and either misjudging or allowing Ansgar's Revenge to pivot, sliding the lifter underneath, and getting the critical lift in. Heck, if Berserk 2 leads with the forklift it might even tip itself over. Combatwombat555 (talk) 10:00, July 23, 2019 (UTC)
Votes for Berserk 2
1. This Ansgar's Revenge photo is actually one I'm not convinced about, so won't mind if someone feels the need to change it. This version of Ansgar never really moved too impressively, or did much at all. Berserk 2 to be honest could just wibble around the arena all the time, try to land some attacks and show aggression and it'll do enough to win. I mean, it has 0 chance of pushing the shufflebot, but it can do everything else it needs to win. Jimlaad43(talk) 19:26, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
2. It's fine. The battle itself I feel is a cake walk for Berserk 2 as this version of Ansgar wasn't too impressive and can be battered by the axe and potentially lifted about.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 19:31, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
3. Berserk 2 could easily damage Ansgar and since it didn't really move much, Berserk 2 has much more of a chance of doing damage to Ansgar than the other way around. A judges decision for Berserk. Adster1005 (talk) 19:46, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
4. To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if Berserk 2 did push Ansgar's Revenge, at least somewhat. A general lack of mobility will be the German machine's downfall here, taking away any advantage it would otherwise have. CrashBash (talk) 19:47, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
5. Considering how poorly Ansgar's Revenge fared in each of its battles, I can't see it being able to use its lifter to good effect. Berserk 2, on the other hand, got plenty of use out of its own lifter; this, along with its axe, should allow it to put up a more aggressive display throughout. VulcansHowl 20:11, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
6. Ansgar's Revenge could win this if it can lift Berserk 2; can't see it though... Hogwild94 (talk) 21:40, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
7. Ansgar's lifting forks are too far apart to accurately wedge under Berserk 2, and it was just too intermittent in what should've been a free pass in its melee with Junkyard Queen and Golem. TOAST 16:12, July 23, 2019 (UTC)
8. Never really thought Ansgar's Revenge was that competent in battle, to be honest. Although Berserk 2 is a hell of a lot lighter, its the more competent of the 2 'bots and will be able to get the win here on a judges' decision. --doot (Formerly DemonOfTomorrow) 18:57, July 23, 2019 (UTC)
Winner: Berserk 2 (3-8)

DTK vs Sweeney Todd[]

DTK Sweeney Todd
DTK
Sweeney Todd
Votes for DTK
1. DTK was quoted to be able to flip 75kg. Sweeney Todd is 45kg. One of the only featherweights that has a chance of beating heavier robots actually gets a lucky draw here, as I really don't see Sweeney Todd's outdated-by-series-2 cutting blades doing any significant damage to the quick and powerful DTK. Jimlaad43(talk) 19:26, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
2. Sweeney Todd didn't seem it could drive properly let alone have any effective weaponry. If what DTK can flip is true then it's even more easier than it already is. Honestly I feel a lot of featherweights can beat Sweeney Todd.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 19:33, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
3. Weight is one thing, but there is also the issue of reach which may make DTK actually overturning Sweeney Todd a little more questionable. I do also wonder what would happen if those blades actually connected. That being said, I really don't think Sweeney Todd's wheels actually worked properly...it seemed to have really poor mobility throughout its fight, and DTK can probably exploit this. CrashBash (talk) 19:49, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
4. Despite being invertible, I think DTK could flip Sweeney Todd occasionally and the sluggish movement of Sweeney Todd makes me think it would struggle against it. Adster1005 (talk) 19:56, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
5. The claimed lifting capacity of DTK's flipper will help it considerably against the Mecanum-shod machine. A few lifts should be enough to harry Sweeney Todd until a breakdown or Judges' decision arises. VulcansHowl 20:10, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
6. Friendly reminder that Sweeney Todd qualified for Series 8 but Merlin, Turbulence and Tanto didn't. --Rammingspeed (talk) 21:08, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
7. If Jimlaad's assertion is correct, I see no reason why DTK couldn't win this... Hogwild94 (talk) 21:43, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
8. I always found Sweeney Todd's Mecanum wheels to be quite interesting. If they worked correctly, it could have sparked a minor revolution. To be fair, Mega Melvin also has Mecanum wheels, so who knows? DTK to dominate. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 22:20, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
9. Never thought I'd see the day a pre-boot featherweight would beat a reboot middleweight convincingly. DTK will be able to flip and nag away at the ponderous Sweeney Todd and may even side-strand the diminutive 'bot in the process. --doot (Formerly DemonOfTomorrow) 18:58, July 23, 2019 (UTC)
Votes for Sweeney Todd
1. Sweeney Todd was slow, but it functioned perfectly well in its only battle. It was simply out of the action for good periods because the faster machines engaged with each other. When Sweeney Todd was attacked it did well too - surviving multiple hits from PP3D before being immobilised deep into the battle. With its reliability not a factor, I'm backing the weightier Sweeney Todd that also owns more aggressive weaponry to take this. NJGW (talk) 04:25, July 23, 2019 (UTC)
2. DTK completes one or two lifts on Sweeney Todd but breaks its flipper in the process, and then we're left with two and a half minutes of DTK failing to push Sweeney Todd, and taking minor damage from its cutting discs. TOAST 16:23, July 23, 2019 (UTC)
3. My concern is that whilst DTK can theoretically lift 75kg, it struggled to tip over Mammoth, managing it only on the third attempt whilst Mammoth was pretty stationary. A more mobile machine, twice the weight, and a fair amount bigger? I think it'll struggle, and as Toast says that stands as good a chance of breaking something in DTK. Sweeney Todd's cutting discs causing minor damage and the heavier robot being a bit more controlling will make the difference. Combatwombat555 (talk) 16:41, July 23, 2019 (UTC)
Winner: DTK (9-3)

Tyranabot vs Topbot[]

Tyranabot Topbot
Tyranabot Final
Topbot
Votes for Tyranabot Votes for Topbot
1. Tyranabot certainly has the pedigree, weaponry, speed and driver skill to win this, but I just don't trust that ground clearance. The bar protecting the middle of the wheels is all fine and dandy, except that if Topbot comes in flywheel down, those become exposed wheels! Topbot will likely be bullied until it gets a lucky strike on a tyre or two, shreds them then gets to turn the tide and push back on the punctured Tyranabot which is now limping. A struggling Tyranabot should be easier for Topbot to hunt down the remaining wheels and take a surprise win. Jimlaad43(talk) 19:26, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
I find it quite hilarious that out of all 16 robots in this first batch, only two robots haven't picked up a vote yet - and one of them is a legit national champion fighting against a robot with just 2 losses to its name and no victories. Oh how Ragnabot can be strangely wonderful at times! Jimlaad43(talk) 14:25, July 24, 2019 (UTC)
2. Topbot proved, for me at least, that is was perfectly capable of causing heavy damage to any opponent, had it had better chances and reliability I'd say it would have won a few fights. The flywheel is sure to damage those wheels and buckle the weaponry.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 19:35, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
3. Like with Sweeney Todd and Ansgar's Revenge before it, my biggest issue with Tyranabot is simply its mobility or lack thereof. Is it just me, or did it have serious issues with turning? Either way, Topbot can take this fight easy. CrashBash (talk) 19:51, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
4. Topbot could catch the wheels of Tyranabot and damage them to some extent and whilst Tyranabot may start the battle on top, it will end damaged and bruised and the Judges decision will go against it. Adster1005 (talk) 19:59, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
5. Don’t bring tyres into the arena count: 1. Sorry SpaceManiac, I couldn't resist! VulcansHowl 20:10, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
6. Topbot's disc is PERFECT for those tyres. Hogwild94 (talk) 21:43, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
7. Don't bring wheels into the arena count: 8. VulcansHowl starting his/her/their own count, eh? Anyhow, I feel that the low profile of Topbot should be enough to hit Tyranabot's tyres, causing punctures. Seeing as Tyranbot was not the most mobile anyway, this should enable Topbot to dominate. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 22:20, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
8. Yeah, Tyranbot's comparative lack of mobility will mean it struggles to impose itself on Topbot, and the wheels should take at least a little damage. Combatwombat555 (talk) 10:04, July 23, 2019 (UTC)
9. I honestly don't understand how Topbot is supposed to cause damage at all, because I've looked at every available image of Topbot and can't even see a single tooth on the disc, but it DID ruin the arena wall so it must be capable of doing something here, despite its complete failure to damage the back of R.O.C.S. TOAST 16:28, July 23, 2019 (UTC)
10. Now that Toast has mentioned it, I can't really see a tooth anywhere besides near the base of the 'bot. Regardless, Tyranabot will get trashed. --doot (Formerly DemonOfTomorrow) 19:00, July 23, 2019 (UTC)
Winner: Topbot (0-10)

Spin Doctor (Series 2) vs Prince of Darkness[]

Spin Doctor (Series 2) Prince of Darkness
Spindoctor2
Prince of Darkness ready for battle
Votes for Spin Doctor (Series 2)
1. Prince is too light to stand a chance in this battle. A good whack in the right place and maybe Spin Doctor could end up on SM888's WHEELS list. Jimlaad43(talk) 19:26, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
2. Not only wheels but honestly I can see Spin Doctor spinning so fast that PoD will topple onto its side.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 19:36, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
3. If Spin Doctor just rams Prince of Darkness it could probably push it over. CrashBash (talk) 19:51, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
4. Spin Doctor could get the wheels and then knock it about a bit for an easy win. Adster1005 (talk) 20:01, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
5. Some say that if you look hard enough at the audience, Jeremy Clarkson can be seen rubbing his hands with glee... VulcansHowl 20:07, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
6. Spin Doctor destroys Prince of Darkness, and Jeremy Clarkson is eternally grateful! Hogwild94 (talk) 21:46, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
7. Don't bring wheels into the arena count: 9. Yes, it does count. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 22:20, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
8. I'm not seeing Spin Doctor destroying Prince of Darkness' wheels, but the weight difference will tell in what's likely to descend into a pushing match. Combatwombat555 (talk) 10:00, July 23, 2019 (UTC)
9. Those maces on Spin Doctor will do a hell of a lot more than whatever Prince of Darkness is supposed to do. May even burst a tyre with its flailing weaponry. --doot (Formerly DemonOfTomorrow) 19:01, July 23, 2019 (UTC)
Votes for Prince of Darkness
1. Prince of Darkness had its tyres completely pierced by T.R.A.C.I.E's giant spike and yet still functioned fine. I don't see Spin Doctor doing more than T.R.A.C.I.E did, and Spin Doctor itself had a random breakdown, so PoD for me. NJGW (talk) 04:28, July 23, 2019 (UTC)

The Termite vs Sting 2[]

The Termite Sting 2
Termite
Sting2
Votes for The Termite
1. The Termite has reliability and weaponry on its side. A good few shreds of the Series 3 side-armour will be enough to cause Sting insurmountable issues. Jimlaad43(talk) 19:26, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
2. Diotoir's lifter was capable of damaging the armour of Sting 2 quite badly around the sides so...Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 19:37, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
3. In this insect vs arachnid duel, I honestly trust the insect more. More potent weapon and looks like it'd be the better pusher, if it can just keep its batteries going. CrashBash (talk) 19:53, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
4. The Termite seems to have more potent weaponry in order to do more damage for a Judges' Decision. Adster1005 (talk) 20:35, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
5. Haven't got to Termite's heat in my EW bingewatch yet, but it should be capable of winning this. Hogwild94 (talk) 21:46, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
6. The Termite was fairly competent, and whilst I doubt the saws will do a colossal amount of damage it's still more than Sting 2 will manage. Combatwombat555 (talk) 10:11, July 23, 2019 (UTC)
7. Unfortunately for SpaceManiac, Jimlaad already confirmed that Ragnabot 3 battles last three minutes, not five. TOAST 16:32, July 23, 2019 (UTC)
I know. That is why I said "even in a three minute encounter", likesay, ken? SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 17:09, July 23, 2019 (UTC)
8. Can't really see anything Sting 2 can do here to the Termite, who will be able to rip into Sting aggressively and win a judges' decision. --doot (Formerly DemonOfTomorrow) 19:02, July 23, 2019 (UTC)
Votes for Sting 2
1. My problem with The Termite is that even with its batteries fully charged, it was still incredibly sluggish. And seeing how it started to lose power well before the end, I actually think it could be in trouble here. Indeed, Sting 2 will probably sustain some minor damage at first thanks its opponent's spinner, but at least it theoretically can move well enough for five minutes. I see it, even in a three minute encounter, turning the tide of battle by ramming and pushing its tired opponent, scoring highly on aggression and control, the former at least now outweighs damage. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 22:20, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
Winner: The Termite (8-1)

Weld-Dor vs Scutter's Revenge[]

Weld-Dor Scutter's Revenge
Weldor
Scutter's revenge
Votes for Weld-Dor
1. Well, Weld-Dor wasn't as feeble as it may've looked, it dug deep to stop King Buxton forcing it down the pit. The bigger question for me is whether Scutter's Revenge goes the distance, because every fight lasting longer than 30 seconds saw it grind to a halt. Besides, who knows, Weld-Dor could be quick enough to get round the sides and try to get the forks into play. Datovidny (talk) 21:45, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
2. Sure, why not. I do agree with Datovidny that Weld-Dor, at least against 101, was resilient. Upon re-watching its loss to 101, I was surprised to see how aggressive it actually was, lifting its opponent several times and causing some aggression with the axe. Thing is with Scutter's Revenge, as Datovidny has mentioned, it was never that reliable and a few lifts from the side and even front will probably cause some problems to its internals. I trust Weld-Dor to persevere, even when on the back foot at the start, to trouble its opponent with its lifter, before ultimately causing a breakdown with a good shove. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 22:20, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
3. Scutter's Revenge had strong drive power, that is undeniable. But it was sluggish, and Weld-Dor is a very awkward shape to push around. That, coupled with Scutter's Revenge's long, wide body and Weld-Dor's handy forks means that I'll side here. NJGW (talk) 04:31, July 23, 2019 (UTC)
4. I'll back that, Scutter's Revenge was just a bit slow to manoeuvre, and Weld-Dor getting the forks into play and getting some lifts in, coupled with the odd minor axe blow, should see it take the judges' nod should it go that far. Combatwombat555 (talk) 10:15, July 23, 2019 (UTC)
5. Weld-Dor is more mobile than Zeus and Thermador, and its rounded sides and big wheels mean it'll be able to more easily escape Scutter's Revenge's powerful but pondorous push. If Weld-Dor can get away from Scutter's Revenge's front, it can dictate the aggression, damage and control. Toon Ganondorf (t c) 10:38, July 23, 2019 (UTC)
6. Time to tie the scores! Consider this a vote on behalf of Anthony Murney, a good pal to me and the Robot Wars History Podcast crew, who owns this very version of Weld-Dor. This is interesting, because both robots lost to 101 in the same series, although I do think Weld-Dor put on the best performance of the two, completing some weapon uses and also reaching the Judges' decision. Scutter's Revenge was very dependant on the pit being open and easy to reach, I think they'll struggle in the larger reboot arena which also requires them to press the Arena Tyre, something they'll be very slow in doing. There should be plenty of opportunities for Weld-Dor to get underneath, and once the lift starts, Scutter's Revenge will be totally hooked. If Scutter's Revenge doesn't complete a pitting then it simply doesn't have the means to score more points than Weld-Dor's two weapons, and it has to not break down too. Heck, if it's loss to 101 was caused by poor radio reception from its aerial, then it might not even work in the first place when placed in the reboot arena - but of course, we wouldn't want to factor that kind of stuff into a fantasy tournament. TOAST 16:40, July 23, 2019 (UTC)
That would have to go into the Schrodinger's floor category of assumptions. Without evidence of how it would fare in different arenas, just assume that something like that is as seen. Arena choice only affects layout, hazards, size, start points and battle length. Unless it is explicitly stated that a robot has interference issues or not with something relevant to the reboot arena, just assume it acts as it did when seen. Jimlaad43(talk) 16:48, July 23, 2019 (UTC)
7. Weld-Dor can lift Scutter's Revenge and control it, it'll likely open the pit before lifting Scutter's Revenge's wheels off the ground and pushing them down the pit. Sam (BAZINGA) 20:39, July 23, 2019 (UTC)
8. Backing the surprise. Scutter’s Revenge is too sluggish for Weld-Dor, and the lifts will outweigh the potential pushes for aggression points. I can see it demonstrating superior control and getting round the sides enough times to either clinch the judges decision or hold on long enough for Scutter’s Revenge to break down. Raz3r(talk) 22:59, July 23, 2019 (UTC)
Votes for Scutter's Revenge
1. A good Series 3 clash here. I trust the Scutterbots entry a bit more in this case, as although Weld-Dor could score points with its axe, and could puncture the top armour, I can see Scutter's Revenge being just that bit more aggressive all throughout, and will keep Weld-Dor in the backfoot, pushing it all around the arena for more of the fight. It'll be close, but Scutter's Revenge to just take it. Jimlaad43(talk) 19:26, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
2. For a second I thought Scutter's Revenge was in the previous Heat. Anyways, easy win here, Series 3's Weld-Dor may be the better of the machines in almost every aspect but it will be bullied like it was by King B and 101, two other rambots.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 19:39, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
3. Weld-Dor might get a few attacks here and there, but its axe wasn't that good and its forks won't flip Scutter's Revenge over. Really, Scutter just needs to push Weld-Dor into the pit. Maybe more difficult in the reboot arena than the arena these two fought in, but I still see it happening. CrashBash (talk) 19:55, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
4. The usual push-and-pit routine is all Scutter’s Revenge really needs to do. Weld-Dor has the weapons, but its past experiences against King Buxton and 101 speak for themselves. VulcansHowl 20:13, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
5. Scutter's Revenge will hit the pit release and after a bit of pushing about the arena, will get Weld-Dor in the right position to just charge it into the pit. Adster1005 (talk) 20:41, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
6. Nice match up, but Weld-Dor won't be so lucky when pushed pitwards from the start this time. Hogwild94 (talk) 21:47, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
7. I've just come out of nowhere to screw the tie up again. Ah, well. Scutter's Revenge seems to be more effective of the 2 'bots and despite how slow it is, I never felt as if Weld-Dor was able to control pushing 'bots well whatsoever. Though Scutter's Revenge is a bit of a ponderous machine, I feel as if it'll slowly but surely push Weld-Dor into the open pit and secure a victory in steady fashion. --doot (Formerly DemonOfTomorrow) 19:04, July 23, 2019 (UTC)

1. TBH, I want to see Drillzilla go far. It'd be interesting to see how it fares against various reboot robots. That, or it'll find a random preboot robot we all manage to find a technicality to knock Drillzilla out on as usual. Jimlaad43(talk) 19:26, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
2. I can't help but love the incredibly silly design of Shapeshifer...I mean that's all I can say really, easy win. Shapeshifter seems like it suffers from the Darke Destroyer 2 syndrome...Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 19:41, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
3. Hey, here's a thought....what would happen if it was the D1 version of Shapeshifter? CrashBash (talk) 19:57, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
Dunno, but we'll see it later in the tournament ;) Jimlaad43(talk) 20:43, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
4. Shapeshifter turns into a Transformer and stomps on Drillzilla like an insect. If only it could actually shapeshift, though… VulcansHowl 20:14, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
5. Drillzilla will do what it normally does and shunt Shapeshifter about the arena to either pit it or knock it over. Adster1005 (talk) 20:43, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
6. This would be utterly hilarious! Hogwild94 (talk) 21:47, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
7. One good slam will likely overturn Shapeshifter. Cannot wait for the D1 version to appear. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 22:20, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
8. Shapeshifter wins because it has a scoop and can therefore easily push Drillzilla around. Or Drillzilla easily bullies Shapeshifter around the arena, whichever. Combatwombat555 (talk) 10:18, July 23, 2019 (UTC)
9. At least we have one genuinely superb robot in this heat! I absolutely love the Heats of Life, and hopefully the additional four heats added to this tournament (and opening up with a Heat of Megadeath) will allow for some more. I'll wait and see who's in the other half, but really the best robot in this upper half after Drillzilla would be... Topbot??? TOAST 16:46, July 23, 2019 (UTC)
10. Unless Drillzilla matches up against Razer or a particularly nasty reboot 'bot, I can't see it failing to make it into at least the quarterfinals. For now, though, Drillzilla starts its campaign off with an easy victory by slamming Shapeshifter to the point where it actually shapeshifts. --doot (Formerly DemonOfTomorrow) 19:06, July 23, 2019 (UTC)
Winner: Drillzilla (0-10)

Hefty vs A-Kill[]

Hefty A-Kill
Hefty
A-Kill Series6
Votes for Hefty
1. Hefty got an unlucky draw, as it looked nippy enough to cause a few Round 1 dropouts issues. Seeing as its armour is probably tougher than a strawberry, and it is heavier than custard skin, A-Kill won't be able to do much to Hefty - let alone flip it - so a pushing battle is to happen, followed by A-Kill either getting squished by a House Robot, or dumped in the pit. Or both. Jimlaad43(talk) 19:26, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
2. A-Kill could get some damage in with the disc, but the other weapons will do nothing. Hefty might go for the wheels with the spike, and could do some damage and then run A-Kill into a house robot. Hefty could then pit it A-Kill. Adster1005 (talk) 21:00, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
3. Eh, I think Hefty can win the pushing match here. Hogwild94 (talk) 21:48, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
4. Interesting battle here, but I back Hefty. Sure, A-Kill might cause some minor damage with its spinners, but that is about it. I feel that Hefty can at the very least reverse and slam into A-Kill, which will surely score nicely in terms of aggression and control. Even a few pushes by it will be enough to outweigh any damage A-Kill can cause. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 22:20, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
Votes for A-Kill
1. That's one thing that's always annoyed me about the archive is how it has images of just about everything else...but the finished product...I disagree with Jim here, I feel the blade of A-Kill, though not the best and claws at the front should cause damage to the shell at the very least causing potential problems.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 19:43, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
2. A rather tentative vote for the £10 robot to beat the £2000 robot, but only on the virtue that, whilst I can't see either doing anything really effective, at least the "axe" of A-Kill will show something akin to aggression. No, I don't really think Hefty would be a good pusher. CrashBash (talk) 20:00, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
3. It would be nice to see more pre-weight increase bots in the later rounds, but my head says A-Kill has this. The ground clearance of Hefty looks too vulnerable, especially head-on, and I'm not sure what kind of damage the spike could do to A-Kill. As for A-Kill's disc, as much as the team might downplay it, it may be capable of causing scratches to the paintwork. Datovidny (talk) 21:51, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
4. A-Kill's front forks will help it hold its own in the pushing war, and in a very even and boring fight, the damage A-Kill causes will be decisive for the judges. NJGW (talk) 04:33, July 23, 2019 (UTC)
5. Hefty was fairly quick, but those tracks are its downfall in my mind. If A-Kill can get side on, those front forks should get into the tracks, and given how easily Killalot dislodged some of the rollers I think A-Kill can do something to them, start to inhibit Hefty's manoeuvrability, and take control from there. Plus A-Kill has the disc for minor damage and the 'thumper' for minor aggression. Combatwombat555 (talk) 10:25, July 23, 2019 (UTC)
6. I agree that Hefty was unlucky to fight X-Terminator and could have won plenty of first-round matchups in Series 3. With the comedy shell removed, you can clearly see where that £2000 went, Hefty is quite nice internally. However, I still don't think it will beat A-Kill, as its lengthy forks should sail straight under Hefty. Granted, the tracked Hefty can drive straight back off, but the disc might also cause some light but visible scars. TOAST 17:00, July 23, 2019 (UTC)
7. This is an exceptionally boring match saved only by the fact that A-Kill at least has some form of weaponry to stay aggressive and win a very dull judges' decision. Wish I could say more, but this really is a boring fight to imagine happening. --doot (Formerly DemonOfTomorrow) 19:09, July 23, 2019 (UTC)

6. I dunno, can Cronos even self-right? Doesn't look like it should be able to. Also, how fitting that these two are fighting each other, if you know what I mean. Also also, it's only been two heats and we've seen all three Scutterbots. CrashBash (talk) 18:39, July 24, 2019 (UTC)
7. Spawn Again looks to be one of the main frontrunners this heat and will score an easy OotA victory on an unremarkable series 4 'bot in Cronos. --doot (Formerly DemonOfTomorrow) 18:57, July 24, 2019 (UTC)
8. What a shame, I have to vote for Spawn Again! Toon Ganondorf amusingly pointed out to me that Team Scutterbots were quickly becoming the new Robochicken, as I'd voted against them four times in a row during this Ragnabot, but that has to end now. TOAST 20:07, July 24, 2019 (UTC)

Votes for Bugs Votes for AM CVn
1. This is a good heat to be a Featherweight as we are guaranteed another one in Round 2! We have a 1 in 15 chance of somehow drawing a guaranteed Featherweight heat finalist. Back to the battle and AM CVn's active weapon, 6 years age difference and just a general ability to move and attack better should see it cruise through this fight. Jimlaad43(talk) 17:44, July 24, 2019 (UTC)
2. AM CVn is more likely to be aggressive and damaging and therefore should win this fight. Adster1005 (talk) 17:48, July 24, 2019 (UTC)
3. Bugs is great but it often sped of so fast that it would topple over of knock it self out against any object, moving or not. Plus this one has an axe.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 17:49, July 24, 2019 (UTC)
4. It's a little difficult to judge AM CVn given how little we saw of it, but it's got the active weapon to show aggression, and is probably better equipped for pushing given Bugs' wedge starts in mid-air and Bugs' relative instability. Combatwombat555 (talk) 17:57, July 24, 2019 (UTC)
5. Unlike Dutch Scarab, AM CVn at least looks somewhat competent. I see a good axe blow or two being enough to take out Bugs. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 18:19, July 24, 2019 (UTC)

8. I never, ever, ever expected AM CVn to win a fight in Ragnabot 3, I don't think a bigger surprise could possibly arise! And yet Bugs got more votes against the heavyweight Scarab than it is collecting here, so what on earth would happen if AM CVn fought Scarab? TOAST 20:09, July 24, 2019 (UTC)

4. Jim Struts' singular advantage is that it's really heavy and Ripper might struggle to actually complete a flip. The Darke Destroyer vs Indefatigable[]

Votes for The Darke Destroyer
1. Darke Destroyer was quick and manoeuvrable, and can run around the arena quite well. It should be able to get a few slams in on Indefatigable, and will avoid the forklift - more specifically, avoid being turned over by it - for the fight. The blade brought into view by this image could glance off the side of Indefatigable and score some rudimentary damage points for scratches, but it won't do too much. A win for more effort on Darke Destroyer's front. Jimlaad43(talk) 17:44, July 24, 2019 (UTC)
2. Darke Destroyer was, as Jim said, quick and manoeuvrable, and Indefatigable struggled against Chaos 2. Darke Destroyer could probably do some damage to Indefatigable and Indefatigable can't do much. Darke Destroyer to win via a Judges'. Adster1005 (talk) 17:51, July 24, 2019 (UTC)
3. I'm reluctant to back Indefatigable with such little evidence that it can carry out the essentials needed to win this fight. Darke Destroyer to win the decision through damage. NJGW (talk) 18:39, July 24, 2019 (UTC)
4. Of the 2 'bots here, I think Darke Destroyer's got the more potent package, considering it was able to scratch and scrape away with that cutter, and honestly, Indefatigable's weapon isn't even a factor considering the forklift never really worked whatsoever. Ultimately this is gonna be a judges' decision here, clinched by the fact that Darke Destroyer has the better weapon and will win the damage category. --doot (Formerly DemonOfTomorrow) 19:02, July 24, 2019 (UTC)
5. A T2-esque win on minor damage. Hogwild94 (talk) 20:28, July 24, 2019 (UTC)
Votes for Indefatigable
1. What the Hell is with this image Jim, are you trying to give me an aneurysm. It's the better DD BUT I feel Indefatigable can push and dominate DD here as we know that in DD's battles its weapon would stop EVERY time it impacted something and it hated to be pushed about.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 17:52, July 24, 2019 (UTC)
I'm trying to show off what Darke Destroyer actually looks like. As I've said enough times now. The choice of picture isn't necessarily the best quality one, it's the one that shows off what the robot looks like best, highlighting weapons if possible. I don't see you complaining about the team being in the background of the Bugs image? If you don't like it, go and get a screenshot of the back of Darke Destroyer in higher quality without the team and point it out to me... Jimlaad43(talk) 18:01, July 24, 2019 (UTC)
You could've used its starting shot from the second round/heat final, with the face to the wall. Hogwild94 (talk) 20:28, July 24, 2019 (UTC)
If there's enough time to describe the shot, there's enough time for SOMEONE here to go on the NJGW upload and actually take the screenshot, can we do this please? TOAST 21:03, July 24, 2019 (UTC)
Much better!Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 05:46, July 25, 2019 (UTC)
2. If there was ever a robot more victimised by the change of valuing aggression over damage, it must be Darke Destroyer. Honestly, for Darke Destroyer to have won its battle against T2, it must have caused enough minor damage to narrowly sway the judges over. However, Darke Destroyer was not the most aggressive machine in the world, generally being passive aggressive for the most part. I feel that Indefatigable, although vulnerable to flippers, at least looked like it was a decent pusher. With a good top speed, it should be able to close the gap and prevent Darke Destroyer from causing much impact to it. Darke Destroyer's weapon had to restart every time it hit something, so as long as Indefatigable remains a close quarters brick, it should win a judges' decision on aggression and control. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 17:58, July 24, 2019 (UTC)
3. To be fair, most robots in Series 3 and 4 would have struggled against Chaos 2, including Darke Destroyer. And I disagree with Darke Destroyer being manoeuvrable- as in, 'easy to manoeuvre'- given that it had a 5 foot turning circle! If Indefatigable can stay close in on Darke Destroyer and keep getting the forklift underneath, even if it doesn't complete any flips it's showing great control and aggression. Scratches from Darke Destroyer's spinner won't be enough to outweigh that. Combatwombat555 (talk) 18:06, July 24, 2019 (UTC)
4. Indefatigable was never going to beat Chaos 2, it was just there for Chaos 2 to beat. That being said, it did look at the very least semi-competent. It should certainly be able to get under and push around Darke Destroyer, who is really going to struggle getting its blade into play with its awkward shape/turning circle. CrashBash (talk) 18:43, July 24, 2019 (UTC)
5. I think Indefatigable can comfortably take advantage of The Darke Destroyer's ground clearance and poor pushing power, one good drive into a CPZ should finish the job. TOAST 20:59, July 24, 2019 (UTC)
6. We never got to see Indefatigable show its capabilities thanks to its swift disposal by Chaos 2, but its forks should easily slip under Darke Destroyer's chasm of a ground clearance and cause problems. If we're going by Series 8-10 judging criteria, then Darke Destroyer's barrages of scuffs and scratches will not be enough to overhaul the aggression and control points scored by Indefatigable's lifts and shoves. Also, didn't Darke Destroyer's blade once fold up after several hits on Sgt. Meikle? That alone could prove costly... VulcansHowl 22:11, July 24, 2019 (UTC)
Winner: Indefatigable (5-6)

Lizzard
Votes for Panzer Mk 4
1. Both Panzer Mk robots had a tough run in Ragnabot 2, and it doesn't exactly start off with a cake walk this time either. Lizzard are competent, but Panzer should have them sussed from the start. Panzer can ramp under the Dutch robot from every angle, and will easily push it into any obstacle it wants, flipping a few times in the process. This will end once Panzer gets the pit open and dumps Lizzard down it. Jimlaad43(talk) 17:44, July 24, 2019 (UTC)
2. Yep...the better rambot with the flipper to flip.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 17:52, July 24, 2019 (UTC)
3. After watching Lizzard's battle for the first time today, I think Panzer Mk 4 has a better chance of winning, as Panzer could easily get underneath and shunt Lizzard about. Lizzard can't do much with the swinging tail and Panzer to win via the pit. Adster1005 (talk) 17:54, July 24, 2019 (UTC)
What happened to Lizzard's other ten battles? TOAST 20:13, July 24, 2019 (UTC)
4. The better rambot wins, any swings with the tail that Lizzard manages to connect with will do very little. Combatwombat555 (talk) 18:07, July 24, 2019 (UTC)
5. After thinking about this, I feel Panzer Mk 4 would be best suited to act as a close quarters brick here, preventing Lizzard from being able to whack it. A judges' decision, but one the American robot will easily win. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 18:21, July 24, 2019 (UTC)
6. I've seen Panzer fight in both Extreme Warriors and Robotica, for the most part it had an answer to whatever other robots could throw at it. It seems like it'd be vulnerable in this heat that has a fair-few flippers, but Lizzard will be OK. Its side ground clearance looks perfect for exploiting. CrashBash (talk) 18:46, July 24, 2019 (UTC)
7. Lizzard's ultimately gonna find itself bulldozed around the arena by Panzer MK4 and will be promptly pitted. --doot (Formerly DemonOfTomorrow) 19:03, July 24, 2019 (UTC)

1. Here begins another part of the interesting experiment of how far can low-tier reboot robots get against decent robots from the preboot that they can beat just because they are more modern. Rigby doesn't really qualify, as Trolley Rage is a vastly superior design anyway, but we'll see. A good axe chop to the wheels maybe? Jimlaad43(talk) 17:44, July 24, 2019 (UTC)
2. Trolley Rage will likely damage Rigby's side panels and could have a pop at the wheels whilst it's at it. I can't see a knockout, but on damage and aggression, as well as control, Trolley Rage to win the judges. Adster1005 (talk) 18:00, July 24, 2019 (UTC)
3. After some decent fights you have something like this. I mean...both aren't gonna survive next round no matter what (unless featherweight...but even then!)so I guess the wheels are vulnerable...what can I say? Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 18:07, July 24, 2019 (UTC)
4. Trolley Rage is almost just a modern Rigby with a better wedge. Combatwombat555 (talk) 18:10, July 24, 2019 (UTC)
5. No count update, because Trolley Rage probably is not accurate enough to achieve a hit on the wheels. Not that it matters, since one or two good axe blows on the top of Rigby will be enough for the knockout. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 18:19, July 24, 2019 (UTC)
6. Trolley Rage has a wedge. That's pretty much all it needs here. CrashBash (talk) 18:48, July 24, 2019 (UTC)

1. I'm not ruling out Trolley Rage causing damage to Ripper with its axe - I actually see it doing quite a bit to Ripper's soft top armour, but Ripper was incredibly aggressive and effective, and will not hesitate to turn Trolley Rage over at every opportunity. Trolley Rage might land a few hits with its axe, but it will keep being turned over and over, and I can see the axe failing to right it at some point. Jimlaad43(talk) 19:10, July 26, 2019 (UTC)
2. Flip. In the Live Events it's been flipped (i.e. by Meggamouse) and was UNABLE TO SELF RIGHT. Yeah. Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 19:18, July 26, 2019 (UTC)

A-Kill vs Indefatigable[]

Votes for A-Kill
1. I love Round 2 battles like this, because you know that we are guaranteed a completely random and unexpected robot in the heat final. This isn't anywhere near as hilariously tragic as Crasha Gnasha vs Tartan Terror from last Ragnabot, but it's up there. I still don't really see what Indefatigable ever did, and I highly doubt the forklift will turn even A-Kill over. A-Kill to look aggressive with its weapons and maybe cause a few scratches with the disc, which'll be enough if Indefatigable survives without breaking down. Jimlaad43(talk) 19:10, July 26, 2019 (UTC)
2. I really like the colour scheme of Indefatigable, such a lush colour and cool forklift design too...unlike A-Kill but then again it is a fun entry and alas will have the better weaponry to scrape a win via a judges decision.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 19:20, July 26, 2019 (UTC)
3. This time, I will side with A-Kill. Maybe it is just me, but I feel its discs are low enough to just about hit the wheels of Indefatiagable. Sure, Indefatiagable does have wheel guards, but they obviously were not designed well considering how much of the wheels are still vulnerable. Hit them and it might compromise Indefatigable's movement. A-Kill can also cause some damage to its opponent's forklift, which looks a little fragile to me. Point is, I feel that A-Kill is more likely to hit areas of its opponent more effectively than it would against Hefty, therefore scoring not only damage, but vital aggression points. I doubt Indefatiagable's pushes will be enough to turn the tide of battle. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 19:21, July 26, 2019 (UTC)
4. Hmm, yeah, same logic I used before, except this time Indefatigable can't really do anything in return. Hogwild94 (talk) 19:27, July 26, 2019 (UTC)
5. Indefatigable doesn't have the lift capability to get A-Kill over. A-Kill probably doesn't either, but I back it more than Indefatigable to get the lifter amongst the wheels and at least show control and aggression. Plus A-Kill has the disc and thumper for addition damage and aggression. Chris Delph explodes with excitement at the thought of getting through to a heat final. Combatwombat555 (talk) 19:27, July 26, 2019 (UTC)
6. At least A-Kill was able to show some minuscule form of competency as it did survive a round. Somehow I feel like it could manage to topple Indefatigable, but if not it'll still win on aggression and damage because let's be real here, there ain't no way Indefatigable is winning this outside of a freak occurrence happening. --doot (Formerly DemonOfTomorrow) 20:46, July 26, 2019 (UTC)
7. This is again probably going to come down to A-Kill's weapons, if you can call them that, showing some sort of aggression, more so than Indefatigable. CrashBash (talk) 20:56, July 26, 2019 (UTC)
8. A-Kill to win via a Judges' Decision on being more aggressive and more damaging. Adster1005 (talk) 08:58, July 27, 2019 (UTC)
9. Now watch as Jonathan Pearce struggles to comprehend A-Kill scoring points with its 'dustbin lid' disc and 'heavy horrendous hammer'. The fact that Indefatigable's forks appear so high off the ground in its front shot will make its attempts at retaliation even more difficult. VulcansHowl 09:34, July 27, 2019 (UTC)

1. I'm gonna say Indefatigable slots its forklift into some gaps in A-Kill's frame and completes a noteworthy charge to win this otherwise dull battle. TOAST 12:18, July 27, 2019 (UTC)
2. I'd probably give this to Indefatigable, on the basis its got more pace behind it to land some attacks for aggression points and has more chance of doing damage with its forks, albeit dents or tiny holes at best, and A-Kill will probably bare damage more with the loose wheel guards et al. 1. Panzer is a similar shape and design to Tyranabot, which got clean swept by Topbot. However, there is a vast chasm of quality between the US champions, and Panzer is the one with the High Ground. Topbot to shout "You underestimate my powers" and get easily punted away by the scoop on Panzer, get the disc dismembered with a slam into something solid and then get dumped to die on the flamepit. 5. Considering Topbot lost its flywheel after a few impacts, Panzer will easily dominate the spinner'bot by smashing it about and pitting Topbot after snapping the weapon off. Doesn't help Topbot that the teeth are so god-damn tiny... --doot (Formerly DemonOfTomorrow) 20:52, July 26, 2019 (UTC)

2. I too am standing by what I said in the S7 League. Hogwild94 (talk) 21:25, July 28, 2019 (UTC)
3. The thing that, in my mind, really tips this Tsunami's way is that, if Tough as Nails does manage to get the grip, what then? Tsunami's got massive power behind the drive, I don't think Tough as Nails will ever be able to wrestle it into the pit, and Tsunami's flips will be point-scoring every time it misses a grip. Combatwombat555 (talk) 22:07, July 28, 2019 (UTC)
4. Tsunami's wide front blade will carry out swift flips on the claws of Tough as Nails as the two machines manouevre, and it will do enough to either win the Judges' Decision or to get an OotA. NJGW (talk) 01:27, July 29, 2019 (UTC)
5. Ah this tussle again. I will also refer to my series 7 League vote. Raz3r(talk) 00:06, July 30, 2019 (UTC)
Votes for Tough As Nails
1. I'm going for TAN here. Jimlaad43(talk) 21:09, July 28, 2019 (UTC)
2. A much closer battle, and if Tsunami were flatter and more of a conventional ramp, like Bulldog Breed, I wouldn't hesitate. It isn't, and it is more of a better shape for TAN to grab and pit. Adster1005 (talk) 21:11, July 28, 2019 (UTC)
3. I refer to my Series 7 League vote. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 21:13, July 28, 2019 (UTC)
4. If we're comparing Series 7 Tussami with Series 10 TAN, I would refer to my Challenge the Champions where I'd back TAN to give Eruption a good fight, only this time I'd be more confident, able to snatch an easy shape to grab, and use superior push to do what it wants. Datovidny (talk) 22:11, July 28, 2019 (UTC)
5. Not only can Tan comfortable clamp Tsunami, it’s possible it could envelop the robot entirely. What happens when the flipper fires whilst TAN is locked around Tsunami? Hard to say but I see TAN able to control the battle from multiple angles whilst Tsunami has to target TAN from the sides or back. Toon Ganondorf (t c) 22:22, July 28, 2019 (UTC)
6. The fight that SpaceManiac brought up in Series 7 League is exactly what I would have used as a guide. TOAST 22:35, July 28, 2019 (UTC)
7. Damn, looks like Tsunami loses to the crusher. There's nothing Tsunami can do to fend off TaN besides flipping and that'll do nothing in the long run. Eventually TaN's gonna be able to clamp down and pit the tidal wave to make it into the quarter-quarter(?) finals. --doot (Formerly DemonOfTomorrow) 22:46, July 28, 2019 (UTC)
8. This was one of the battles I didn't want happen (why could we have decimated Spawn Again, that would make me please. Tsunami will do well but it's just perfect for a grab.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 05:50, July 29, 2019 (UTC)

Ripper vs Drillzilla[]

Ripper Drillzilla
Ripper

Votes for Ripper
1. So, Drillzilla is invertible, right? OK, still going to back Ripper regardless. I feel that its wedge is perfect for fending off a rambot like Drillzilla, similar to how Bigger Brother dealt with Tornado. By flipping early, Ripper can then get underneath Drillzilla's ground clearance and clamp the shufflebot, nullifying Drillzilla's pushing advantage. I think this is going to be a tactical match, with Ripper winning via achieving a couple of flips and intelligently using its design to its full advantage to win a judges' decision on aggression and control. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 21:16, July 28, 2019 (UTC)
2. Drillzilla's 160kg, not 200kg, and the consensus was that Ripper could flip the heavier Jim Struts, so the flip is definitely on. Combatwombat555 (talk) 22:01, July 28, 2019 (UTC)
That is true, but there's more to flipping than just weight - Ripper was able to get Refbot over, but initially struggled with Shunt, which is the lighter of the two House Robots. It's more or less the same logic here as far as I'm concerned - whilst yes I do believe Ripper would flip the heavier Jim Struts, a lot of that is down to how top-heavy it was. CrashBash (talk) 04:25, July 29, 2019 (UTC)
3. May be in the minority here, but whilst Drillzilla has the power, Ripper has such scope for flipping, to negateany strong push, provided it keeps facing the right way. Datovidny (talk) 22:11, July 28, 2019 (UTC)
4. I have never once believed that Drillzilla is invertible, the shufflers don't have legs on top, that is visible to the naked eye. An inverted Drillzilla would just vibrate in place, nothing more. One flip should do it for Ripper. TOAST 22:36, July 28, 2019 (UTC)
5. The non-invertible and not-too-heavy Drillzilla goes over. NJGW (talk) 01:31, July 29, 2019 (UTC)
6. Id back Ripper to get the killer flip at some point. While Drillzilla will do well to start with, Ripper only needs one good Attack’s to seal the victory, as I don’t believe Drillzilla is invertible. Raz3r(talk) 00:06, July 30, 2019 (UTC)
Votes for Drillzilla
1. I don't know if Ripper can flip 200kg over. Jimlaad43(talk) 21:09, July 28, 2019 (UTC)
2. Drillzilla will be relentless and won't stop until either Ripper is pitted or the 3 minutes are up. Adster1005 (talk) 21:12, July 28, 2019 (UTC)
3. I keep thinking back to Ripper's fight with Kan-Opener where one good slam just caused it to seize up on one side. This is Drillzilla we're talking about. Also, I'm not even completely convinced Ripper will be able to flip Drillzilla over that easily anyway. CrashBash (talk) 21:22, July 28, 2019 (UTC)
4. Ripper with its flipper made of flimsy armour isn't flipping Drillzilla, it'll get pushed around until something eventually gives. Hogwild94 (talk) 21:25, July 28, 2019 (UTC)
5. I think this is a comfortable win for Drillzilla, it’s weapons are well suited to biscuit tin armour and I can see Rippers flipper being crumbled trying to get under Drillzilla. Toon Ganondorf (t c) 22:24, July 28, 2019 (UTC)
6. Honestly, Drillzilla was the big one coming into this heat. --doot (Formerly DemonOfTomorrow) 22:49, July 28, 2019 (UTC)
7. My issue with Ripper was it seemed incredibly weak. The armour looked almost paper thin and the robot was one of these "easy to push" ones. This does NOT speak well to Drillzilla who is fast, aggressive and honestly I can see it immobilising Ripper very quickly.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 05:46, July 29, 2019 (UTC)
Winner: Drillzilla (6-7)

A-Kill vs Berserk 2[]

A-Kill Berserk 2
A-Kill Series6
Berserk 2
Votes for A-Kill
1. Something of an honorary vote perhaps, but, in a fight where the weapons aren't going to do an awful lot, ground clearance and speed are likely to decide the winner, and A-Kill's the faster and lower machine. 1. Random.org delivers another awesome Heat Final matchup for us here as two completely unexpected robots find themselves dueling out for an unlikely heat victory in the face of some powerful robots. Jimlaad43(talk) 21:09, July 28, 2019 (UTC)
2. Berserk 2 to push, axe and lift it's way to a heat win as the aggressor over A-Kill. Adster1005 (talk) 21:13, July 28, 2019 (UTC)
3. Berserk 2's survival against Hypno-Disc is the catalyst for me backing it over A-Kill. Henceforth, I see another pre-weight increase robot making the finals, with Berserk 2 winning on a judges' decision via all accounts. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 21:20, July 28, 2019 (UTC)
4. A-Kill isn't a competitive robot. It isn't MEANT to be a competitive robot. It was built as a glorious parody and that's what makes it so great. Berserk 2 is probably the best opponent it could have gotten, but it'll still lose. CrashBash (talk) 21:24, July 28, 2019 (UTC)
5. Berserk 2 is though to whatever round is next, and I couldn't be happier! Hogwild94 (talk) 21:26, July 28, 2019 (UTC)
6. lmao RANDOM.ORG pulls through again, I love that A-Kill has received a vote to try and push it out of the heat, but Noel Sharkey and Co. will be quite unimpressed by A-Kill's failure to damage Berserk 2, and a few drives / axe blows should swing this. A-Kill down, Carbide next! TOAST 22:38, July 28, 2019 (UTC)
7. For the second time in a row, Random.org puts the two weakest 'bots against eachother. Are we getting rigged? Jokes aside, though, A-Kill has completely ran out of luck in this stage and Berserk 2 will effortlessly hammer A-Kill and lift 'em about to win a judges' decision. Today, this, tomorrow we'll see Tartan Terror survive a heat. --doot (Formerly DemonOfTomorrow) 22:51, July 28, 2019 (UTC)
8. A-Kill will try to make inroads with that spinner, but it'll seize up at one point, and Berserk 2's consistency over the whole fight will win out. NJGW (talk) 01:32, July 29, 2019 (UTC)
9. A surprise to be sure but a welcome one, it'll beat A-Kill easily (especially considering it was close to beating Hypno-Disc, albeit the Series 3 version.) Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 05:43, July 29, 2019 (UTC)
10. Berserk 2 gets all the jam in the pot with this draw. A-Kill doesn’t match Series 3 Hypno-Disc for power, and will be dominated. Raz3r(talk) 00:06, July 30, 2019 (UTC)
Winner: Berserk 2 (1-10)

Panzer Mk 4 vs Spawn Again[]

Votes for Panzer Mk 4
1. I'm going to believe in Panzer Mk4 here, it's so unbelievably speedy that Spawn Again will need a perfect reaction time to complete the flip (never Spawn's speciality, not even close), and a powerful drive from Panzer Mk4 into a modern House Robot could spring a surprise here. TOAST 22:40, July 28, 2019 (UTC)
We're running Schrodinger's House Robot rules where it's an appropriate House Robot for the era of the robot being fed to them. Just thought you'd need to know that seeing as it is a major part of your vote. Jimlaad43(talk) 22:42, July 28, 2019 (UTC)
2. So many American robots were far-more torquey and more nimble in close quarters than their UK counterparts at the time, and I'm supporting Panzer Mk4 to smother Spawn Again throughout. Spawn Again, while improved in Series 7, did still have issues, and it slowed significantly during Round 2 against R.O.C.S.. Against a bullish US machine, I think its underlying frailties would come to surface again. NJGW (talk) 01:35, July 29, 2019 (UTC)
3. Spawn Again was terribly unreliable even in Series 7. It's bulky design makes it easy to ram/push about and Panzer Mk can do just that job, being more speedier and was far more aggressive. Is it flippable? Yes but it's got good control to balance that to prevent the "flip of doom" especially considering this IS Spawn Again we're talking about, a robot that's flipped more dead or easy robots than actual competitive and alive machines...Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 05:41, July 29, 2019 (UTC)
Votes for Spawn Again
1. Panzer Mk has no luck in the heats again. Two American champions crash out in this heat... Jimlaad43(talk) 21:09, July 28, 2019 (UTC)
2. Sadly, this looks as if it will end in a flip of doom. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 21:13, July 28, 2019 (UTC)
3. I think a flip or two will end Panzer Mk 4's run in the heats. Adster1005 (talk) 21:14, July 28, 2019 (UTC)
4. And this is the problem with American competitors...they all have chasms for ground clearances. Every. Single. One. But that's OK because flippers are non-existent in the US Robot Wars. In the UK, on the other hand....CrashBash (talk) 21:26, July 28, 2019 (UTC)
5. CrashBash said it best in his 'Unbeatable Robots' list. Hogwild94 (talk) 21:27, July 28, 2019 (UTC)
6. Spawn Again's third consecutive opponent that can't self-right. Combatwombat555 (talk) 22:09, July 28, 2019 (UTC)
7. And another one-flip-and-done! Shame to lose Panzer here, but ultimately Spawn Again's just too good a 'bot to lose to Panzer. --doot (Formerly DemonOfTomorrow) 22:52, July 28, 2019 (UTC)
8. Spawn Again at full functionality is the machine I’d back every time here. Only one or two flips will be needed, and while Panzer Mk 4 showed remarkable pace, Spawn Again was no slouch when it worked, and can easily breach the large ground clearance. Raz3r(talk) 00:06, July 30, 2019 (UTC)
Winner: Spawn Again (3-8)
