Round 1

Trax vs Obsidian

Trax Obsidian
Trax
Obsidian Arena
Votes for Trax
  1. Trax should find itself sliding under Obsidian all through the battle, lifting and trying to flip until it bundles Obsidian into the pit. Jimlaad43(talk) 09:15, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  2. Lowerground clearance, good power, more reliable, well driven. My dark horse for the heat. Datovidny (talk) 09:28, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  3. Obsidian wasn't too impressive (that's including the Live Events) so an easy win here. Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 10:19, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  4. Trax may skid all over the place, but it has Obsidian beat rather easily with a few flips and some good pushes that'll leave it with a win on the judges'. --TheyCallMeDoot (*doot doot*) 12:13, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  5. Obsidian... obscure... oblivious... obsolete. VulcansHowl 12:32, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  6. Sadly, none of these first round battles feel even remotely close. I can only assume there's a big surprise waiting for us in the second half. CrashBash (talk) 12:59, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  7. I have some serious doubts about Obsidian's self-righting, Trax could potentially finish this in one go. TOAST 13:27, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  8. Trax can easily slide under Obsidian (I nearly typed Oblivion there by mistake) and turn it over as often as is necessary for something to go wrong. Hogwild94 (talk) 18:29, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  9. Trax won't need a diamond pickaxe to see off Obsidian, the front-hinged bar should suffice. SFCJack (talk) 19:07, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  10. Indeed, I cannot see Obsidian self-righting from most angles. Possible flip of doom here. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 22:18, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  11. Even with the skidding Trax was still a pretty capable pusher, and it should be able to drive underneath Obsidian and get the necessary flip. Obsidian's axe didn't look damaging enough to put Trax out of action before that happens. Combatwombat555 (talk) 15:26, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  12. Trax to push around Obsidian, with it potential getting a turn over. Adster1005 16:01, November 8, 2019 (UTC)

  3. Yep. Glad to see Mayhem win a battle.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 10:20, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  4. Mayhem will cause mayhem after all. Spike will get demolished. --TheyCallMeDoot (*doot doot*) 12:14, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  5. After being somewhat overshadowed by Supernova in its melee, it's good to see Mayhem getting to show its potential against this Series 3 pushover. VulcansHowl 12:32, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  6. Mayhem looks to continue its surprising success from the Series 7 League. CrashBash (talk) 12:59, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  7. Mayhem is definitely the dark horse of the heat so far, I'm excited to see how far it can go! TOAST 13:27, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  8. Spike barely starts moving when Mayhem charges in and rips it to pieces. Hogwild94 (talk) 18:30, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  9. Poundland Supernova should have little trouble tearing Spike's cosmetic bits apart. SFCJack (talk) 19:10, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  10. Let's see whether Mayhem can go further after a promising Series 7 League campaign. Indeed, Spike's pre-Hypno-Disc armour will prove no match for a competent spinner. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 22:18, November 7, 2019 (UTC)

Colossus vs Shell Shock (Series 7)

Colossus Shell Shock (Series 7)
Colossus

Votes for Colossus
  1. Mark this down as the day I discovered that Colossus has a rear disc, because it never did anything with it... Anyway, against Shell Shock, it should push and flip the snail robot, and as it can't self-right, that'll be enough. Perhaps it could tunr around and use its newly discovered disc on the overturned shell! Jimlaad43(talk) 09:15, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  2. This was tough, I was tempted to vote the other way based on the flipper not working, but even without a working weapon I think the steep wedge and the snail's high ground clearance could see it topple anyway. Datovidny (talk) 09:38, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  3. I don't want to vote for Colossus but...it's gonna get a flip.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 10:20, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  4. Colossus has an easy victory over Shell Shock. It'll flip the snail all over the place and eventually roll Shell Shock into the pit after some time has gone by. Also, Colossus' disc is something I'll disregard as I have no idea how powerful it is or if it ever worked. --TheyCallMeDoot (*doot doot*) 12:18, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  5. Whether Colossus will do an M2 entirely depends on its flipper working properly. Even so, Shell Shock will be shoved and presumably sliced by the rear disc, which I have to admit I also hadn't noticed until Jimlaad did. VulcansHowl 12:32, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  6. If Colossus' flipper is working, it can easily roll Shell Shock around. If it's not working, it can still push Shell Shock around without concern of the snail's weapons. CrashBash (talk) 13:00, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  7. Colossus doesn't need its flipper to work to flip Shell Shock though, does it? It can just charge it and turn it over with the wedge. Hogwild94 (talk) 18:31, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  8. While I can't imagine Colossus getting an M2-like OOTA. Shell Shock did have self-righters on the sides and though they didn't work in battle, I have to take it into consideration when backing up my vote. I just don't think Shell Shock has anything for Colossus - the axe is pitiful and the disc even more so. SFCJack (talk) 19:14, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  9. Since Colossus' flipper apparently did work in the qualifiers, I shall give it the benefit of the doubt needed for it to topple Shell Shock here. That said, I still dislike Colossus, considering how boring and uninspired the robot was. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 22:18, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  10. If Colossus' flipper works, easy flip-over victory. If it doesn't, I still back it to do more with the wedge (although it does have the bizarre step halfway down) and disc than Shell Shock can with its weaponry. Combatwombat555 (talk) 15:32, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  11. If the flipper works, an easy flip over, if not, then Colossus can push Shell Shock around the arena. Adster1005 16:04, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
Votes for Shell Shock (Series 7)
  1. I'm gonna throw an obscure one out there. If Colossus does prove unable to flip, then I think Shell Shock will take this on aggression with a few axe swings. In the loosest sense, Shell Shock was "beating" Tiberius III in its Round 1 melee by virtue of landing one axe blow without taking any punishment in response, so perhaps it can keep that up for three minutes against Wedge Colossus. I really posted this vote in the same week where I included Shell Shock in my bottom ten Series 7 robots on RA2's rankdown... TOAST 13:27, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
Yeah, but Colossus is in a few of our lists as well. I actually placed Colossus in my bottom 10 and not Shell Shock, yet I'm still voting for Colossus. Jimlaad43(talk) 13:40, November 7, 2019 (UTC)

  3. Yep.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 10:21, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  4. Can this Cassius finally escape the heat? Don't think so, but a one-flip-and-done is an easy enough start, right? --TheyCallMeDoot (*doot doot*) 12:19, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  5. Spectre to repeatedly sink its teeth through Cassius, all while slamming it into the walls and causing terminal damage to Rex's finest machine. But of course, this isn't the Robo Challenge Spectre we're talking about... VulcansHowl 12:32, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  6. I'm quietly confident Cassius may at least reach the heat final, but who knows who else may pop up....CrashBash (talk) 13:01, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  7. Certainly I wouldn't want to see Cassius take on the 'other' Spectre, but this one suits it just fine. TOAST 13:27, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  8. Lets see if Cassius can get through this tournament without somehow losing to a robot it would probably beat easily in real life solely because of its slight ground clearance issues. Hogwild94 (talk) 18:32, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  9. Cassius will have all kinds of fun tossing the underweight Spectre around. It'll get the KO sooner or later. SFCJack (talk) 19:17, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  10. You know, Spectre had some character. I feel that if the producers wanted more visually entertaining machines for its main competition, surely Spectre would have fit the bill more, compared to machines like Brimhur and Panzer. Still, its high ground clearance and lack of srimech will make it easy pickings for Cassius. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 22:18, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  11. Cassius might not even need to use the flipper, a decent charge with the wedge will probably see Spectre tipped onto its side. Combatwombat555 (talk) 15:33, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  12. Cassius to flip Spectre. Adster1005 16:04, November 8, 2019 (UTC)

Destruct-A-Bubble
Votes for Ripper's Revenge Votes for Destruct-A-Bubble
  1. Thing is, because Delldog and Orac's Revenge have got out of the heats, Destruct-A-Bubble wouldn't even be the most surprising heat winner if it manages to escape this one. The Middleweight will be pushed around and axed all through this fight for DaB's first win. Jimlaad43(talk) 09:15, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  2. The bubble should use its superior size and weight to win a dull pushing match. Datovidny (talk) 09:28, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  3. HELL YES! The Bubble is one of those secrectly brilliant robots, able to defeat M2 and survive a full five minutes against Dantomkia. Easy win here, so glad to see it progress. I hope, fingers crossed, it can somehow get through the heat! Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 10:22, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  4. Destruct-A-Bubble's axe is probably too long to even hit Ripper's Revenge in the first place, but its pushing power will be enough to deter the middleweight from getting through. --TheyCallMeDoot (*doot doot*) 12:20, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  5. Against a middleweight, the bubble won't be bursting anytime soon. VulcansHowl 12:32, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  6. Honestly, Destruct-A-Bubble's "axe" felt more like a grappling arm, and will probably be ineffective against Ripper's Revenge...which in turn will be completely ineffective full stop against its heavier opponent. CrashBash (talk) 13:02, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  7. Needless to say, Destruct-A-Bubble punching some holes into Mincer using its Series 4 weaponry that isn't even present here does not mean that it would beat M2, but Ripper's Revenge, yeah it can handle that. TOAST 13:27, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  8. A few taps and, provided Destruct-A-Bubble doesn't break down again, that should be enough to give it the win. Hogwild94 (talk) 18:33, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  9. Yesss go on Destruct-A-Bubble! SFCJack (talk) 19:19, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  10. I know some may play the reliability card against Destruct-A-Bubble later on, but I must stress that the only reason it broke down against Rick was because a candy wrapper got lodged in the removable link. Unless we are seriously considering the idea that the candy wrapper will be in place for every single Destruct-A-Bubble battle, I think citing its "unreliability" is unfair. Anyhow, Destruct-A-Bubble's pushing power shall be enough for a judges' decision victory. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 22:18, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  11. I'm not entirely sure how exactly Destruct-A-Bubble would win this, but some combination of being double the weight, having reasonable power, and having the better weapon will probably do it. Combatwombat555 (talk) 15:37, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  12. DaB will push RR around the arena, and into somewhere fatal for RR. Adster1005 16:06, November 8, 2019 (UTC)

Abaddon vs Interstellar: MML

Abaddon Interstellar: MML
Abaddon
Interstellarmml
Votes for Abaddon Votes for Interstellar: MML
  1. Not-Weber will be the better robot here by an astronomical distance. The massive flipper can push Abaddon back and away and into the endless black hole Pit. Jimlaad43(talk) 09:15, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  2. If Abaddon could actually run inverted effectively then we might have a good design here, but the Series 9 machine can only have the upper hand. Datovidny (talk) 09:34, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  3. It's funny I've noticed all the Reboot VTs are filmed at the same location in Series 9 and 10 (and for Glitterbomb and Infernal Contraption in S8), just look at the background every time... It's an easy win here in other news.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 10:24, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  4. Abaddon will find itself snagged and flipped over, eventually getting pitted by the flipper without any trouble. Not even the bowling ball is gonna help Abaddon. --TheyCallMeDoot (*doot doot*) 12:22, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  5. A stellar start for Dr Maggie's campaign; Interstellar’s wedge shape alone should make Abaddon consider abandoning hope upon ‘Activate’. VulcansHowl 12:32, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  6. So, in theory, Abaddon would now be allowed to have its bowling ball because it's not overweight, right? Not that it makes any difference, just stating what feels to be the obvious. CrashBash (talk) 13:03, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  7. What kind of heat is this when Interstellar: MML is one of the shouts for Best Robot in the opening half? A fun one for some silly outcomes, that's what! TOAST 13:27, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  8. If Abaddon's weapon was as good as Gutrip's, I'd maybe give it a punt here. But it's closer to the first Suicidal Tendencies', so I can't. Hogwild94 (talk) 18:34, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  9. Should be a simple win. Abaddon has nothing for Interstellar: MML, whereas the reboot machine can flip to its heart's content. SFCJack (talk) 19:23, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  10. Not exactly sure why a bowling ball was used in Abaddon's construction, but hey, it gave the robot, a stunning machine in its own right, even more character than before. A shame it lost the bowling ball, because the caster wheel replacement was unreliable, and will certainly be broken by some flips by Interstellar: MML. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 22:18, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  11. I do like Abaddon's design, and maybe with a faster/more powerful spinner and the bowling ball in place it might have been more of a contender, but here it's outclassed. Combatwombat555 (talk) 15:48, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  12. Interstellar: MML to flip Abaddon relentlessly around the arena. Adster1005 16:06, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
Winner: Interstellar: MML (0-12)

Medusa Oblongotta vs Corkscrew

Medusa Oblongotta Corkscrew
Oblangata2
Corkscrew S6
Votes for Medusa Oblongotta Votes for Corkscrew
  1. Corkscrew will get up a head of steam and obliterate the sides of Meduza. Corkscrew can stay away from the American robot at the start to get its spinner up to speed, and the sides of the American robot won't like that one bit. When it gets put on the pit, it's going down down down. What sorry, just quickly. What if it's... Jimlaad43(talk) 09:15, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  2. Very powerful spinner. I don't see Corkscrew getting toppled here. Datovidny (talk) 09:34, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  3. And despite all the work Corkscrew drives into the pit.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 10:24, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
Also why aren't we using the Extreme 2 version? I presume its down to looks.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 14:51, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
Yeah, look s al it came down to. The Series 6 livery is a lot more interesting than the E2 one, but go on whichever stats you prefer. Jimlaad43(talk) 15:14, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  4. Medusa Oblongata will get Medusa Obliterated. --TheyCallMeDoot (*doot doot*) 12:22, November 7, 2019 (UTC)

  6. So, judging by Doot and Vulcan's votes...Corkscrew is suddenly Wreck-It-Ralph? CrashBash (talk) 13:04, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  7. If you don't rate Interstellar: MML then Corkscrew stands out as the best robot on this side of the heat, but let's see if it can live up to the success of Corkscrew Two last time around. Well, it won't. But we can hope. TOAST 13:27, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  8. D-stroyed. Hogwild94 (talk) 18:35, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  9. Corkscrew will absolutely go to town on Medusa's flat sides. Selkirk, to be precise. SFCJack (talk) 19:24, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  10. Series 6 Corkscrew is certainly a great unknown. While I am confident it would have qualified from its melee had it not been pitted, would it have progressed any further? Well, it would have beaten A-Kill, who, like Medusa Oblongotta here, would have been destroyed. Terrorhurtz? Maybe, I think the sides of the axe machine are perfect to rip and tear, and Corkcrew's... cork, would have been useful to deflect axe blows. Spawn Again? As long as it avoids the flipper, I can see it taking out its opponent in a blow or two. Bigger Brother? Nah, the flipper would have been too strong, and would overturn its opponent in seconds. My point is, Corkscrew could have been a semi-finalist, just a massive shame that pit delay occurred. And it would have been in the All-Stars as well. As for Terrorhurtz, could it have become the Czech Republic champion and thus compete in the European Championship? Who knows?! SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 22:18, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  11. Given the damage Corkscrew caused in the brief time it wasn't in the pit, and given Medusa's big flat sides, Corkscrew has this easily. Combatwombat555 (talk) 15:51, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  12. Corkscrew to win on aggression and damage, if not immbolising Medusa. Adster1005 16:09, November 8, 2019 (UTC)

  1. DTK had a go at OotAing Typhoon Cadet. Prizephita's larger and more pwoerful flipper will get it over the wall. Jimlaad43(talk) 09:15, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  2. I'm not sure about an OotA, I don't think even a featherweight could go over the wall from Prizephita based on the trajectory. That said, the cadet should be overturned no problem. Datovidny (talk) 09:34, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  3. No OOtA but a flip fur sure.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 10:25, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  4. Prizephita gets an easy one-flip-and-done, but I think its gonna take a long time before it happens as the featherweight is a bit nippy. Still, it'll be inevitable. --TheyCallMeDoot (*doot doot*) 12:23, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  5. The Cadet begins flight training. VulcansHowl 12:32, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  6. I mean, Typhoon Cadet is literally the only Typhoon robot I wouldn't trust to win a fight in its respective weightclass. CrashBash (talk) 13:05, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  7. Unfortunately for Typhoon Cadet, the support of Queen Unidentified Female is not enough to overcome Prizephita Mach II. Maybe if we knew it was Queen Keri then Prizephita would combust into flames like its "successor" did before Series 8, but until that day, the Cadet heads back to flight school. TOAST 13:27, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  8. I'm afraid I don't get that reference Toast. Hogwild94 (talk) 18:35, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  9. Took me far too long to realise this wasn't the heavyweight Typhoon but yeah, Prizephita's probably getting that KO flip eventually. Even if it doesn't, Cadet's only going to tickle the heavyweight's sides. SFCJack (talk) 19:26, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  10. Typhoon Cadet is the only Typhoon machine I do not rate in the slightest. Putting aside its poor performance in its only televised battle, this spinner had multiple flaws. Firstly, control, which Typhoon Cadet notably lacked, easily enabling DTK to overturn it. Secondly, its rythmn could easily be disrupted, ultimately costing it in that melee. And finally, its spinner hardly dealt any damage to its opponents! That's its main flaw in my opinion, and seeing how it barely made an impact against fellow featherweights, it stands no chance against Prizephita Mach 2. I see the heavyweight deflecting Typhoon Cadet's attack, before closing in for the kill. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 22:18, November 7, 2019 (UTC)
  11. One flip and done. What's the betting Typhoon 2's in the second half of this heat to avenge its baby sibling? Combatwombat555 (talk) 15:53, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  12. Prizephita to flip Typhoon Cadet over. Adster1005 16:10, November 8, 2019 (UTC)

Snake Bite (Extreme Warriors) vs Scorpion (7)

Snake Bite (Extreme Warriors) Scorpion (7)
Snake Bite US
Scorpion
Votes for Snake Bite (Extreme Warriors)
  1. I don't really have a chance in swaying the vote at this point but i'll put my two cents in regardless. Snake Bite was a decent enough pusher, beating Panzer in Robotica, and it had the armor and durability to survive a serious onslaught from the House Robots, even taking a direct hit from Matilda's flywheel without slowing down much. Scorpion's disc didn't ever do much more than cosmetic damage, and it shouldn't have the traction to beat Snake Bite in a pushing battle. I see Snake Bite taking Scorpion to the CPZs and winning through aggression and control. Badnik96 (talk) 21:12, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  2. I shall agree with Badnik on this one. Scorpion has a powerful disc, but it hardly had much resistance against good pushers. Snake Bite was a decent enough pusher, and I feel that as long as it charges head-on, it will be able to block most of Scorpion's deadly hits and enable it to shove its opponent into hazards like the CPZ. Ultimately, I can see Snake Bite pitting its foe. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 14:49, November 9, 2019 (UTC)
Votes for Scorpion (7)
  1. Scorpion's damaging tail is going to cause Snake Bite issues. The wedge at the front of Scorpion should be good enough to respond to any pushes Snake Bite tries. Scorpion will win this by being better in every way, and may get a KO if it's lucky. Jimlaad43(talk) 17:22, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  2. The disc will cause more damage and be aggressive to take the Judges' decision. Adster1005 17:28, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  3. As soon as Snake Bite tries getting a push in, Scorpion's going to swing around with the disc and start to shred the sides, and dig into the exposed corners of the wedge. Eventually that damage will start to take its toll. Combatwombat555 (talk) 17:28, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  4. Scorpion's flywheel is more than capable of taking out chunks of Snake Bite with little issue. Still think Snake Bite is gonna be resilient enough to take the blows, but it'll definitely lose on damage when the match ends. --TheyCallMeDoot (*doot doot*) 17:45, November 8, 2019 (UTC)

Sumpthing vs ODT-Zero

Sumpthing ODT-Zero
Sumpthing
ODTZero
Votes for Sumpthing
  1. This would be somewhat of and awkward battle. ODT-Zero's wedge will certainly be somewhat effective at shoving Sumpthing away, but to what end? ODT-Zero wasn't the quickest of robots, so I wouldn't be surprised if Sumpthing was able to escape. If Sumpthing can come around the side and start to smack with its axe it'll rack up vital aggression and control points. ODT-Zero was bullied around the arena by three small robots, so surely even Sumpthing can get a good few pushes in. If ODT-Zero makes it to the end without breaking down, it's Sumpthing's on the judges. Jimlaad43(talk) 17:22, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  2. I was initially thinking ODT-Zero could win this on aggression and control, however after seeing Jim's vote and being reminded of it being pushed around by root-3 (can't get the symbol), I think Sumpthing can cause damage and be aggressive the axe, before pushing around to win on control. Adster1005 17:30, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  3. Sumpthing is aggressive enough to get the win here I'd say. Hogwild94 (talk) 18:40, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  4. I think it's great that we have the Internationals involved in Ragnabot, the one downside is I end up having to watch fresh clips just so I know who or what I'm voting on half the time. Having watched its only battle, getting bullied by individual clusterbots on power, I will have to instead vote for a robot that was powerful enough to push back Dominator 2. As long as Sumpthing doesn't topple over, which with the axe and forks combo is unlikely, then Sumpthing should win a judges' decision on aggression. Datovidny (talk) 11:00, November 9, 2019 (UTC)
Votes for ODT-Zero
  1. I'll give it to ODT-Zero. Sumpthing will be aggressive, but that'll probably be its downfall- those front forklifts are so easy to slide underneath, and I can see Sumpthing charging in, misjudging, and allowing ODT-Zero to get underneath and carry it to a hazard. Given how unreliable Sumpthing was, doing that enough times will likely kill it. Combatwombat555 (talk) 17:37, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  2. ODT-Zero is a modestly good wedge, and people understate how close it actually came to beating Wortel drie. ODT-Zero performed relatively wrll and was hurt the most by being unable to use its lifter on such small targets. Something like Sumpthing would be easier to topple, and ODT-Zero can otberwise just wedge it around until a drive gear slips. TOAST 18:17, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  3. ODT-Zero is by no means a world-beater but sooner or later, they should be able to slip a gear in Sumpthing's system just by pushing them about as Toast says. SFCJack (talk) 19:39, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  4. Much as Sumpthing looked cool, it was a really fragile 'bot both internally and externally. ODT-Zero may not be the best 'bot, but its lifter has enough in it to flip Sumpthing over and jar the... errr, ex-internals(?) and cause a breakdown to occur. --TheyCallMeDoot (*doot doot*) 19:55, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  5. It's probably a matter of when, not if, with Sumpthing. If anything, its one success in Series 4 was an absolute freak. Given that Little Fly had gotten a puncture in that same fight and could hardly drive, Sumpthing would have almost certainly WON that battle outright if it had been a last-bot-standing. Imagine that. CrashBash (talk) 20:17, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  6. According to random.Org Sumpthing's a Grand Finalist. But as much as I love Sumpthing it was terribly unreliable and the exposed inners were always attacked and damaged easily.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 21:07, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  7. Sumpthing doesn't have KO power or a way to reliably control ODT, meaning it'll either end up in the clutches of the house robots or down the pit before a judge's decision can happen.Badnik96 (talk) 23:27, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  8. ODT-Zero is half-decent, and Sumpthing's forks don't stick to the ground. It's going to get bundled around. NJGW (talk) 03:37, November 9, 2019 (UTC)
  9. If Hydra and even Widow’s Revenge were able to wedge underneath Sumpthing, then I see no reason why ODT-Zero can’t. During the Series 6/Dutch 2 filming period, the Dutch machine survived to the Judges against its smaller sister triplets, while Sumpthing perished under sustained pressure - despite its early bouts of aggression - and would go on to do the same in Extreme 2. ODT-Zero should at least be capable of steering Sumpthing into the CPZs, at which point the House Robots will cause problems to Sumpthing before a malfunction or component failure will occur. VulcansHowl 12:36, November 9, 2019 (UTC)
  10. Fully agree with VulcansHowl here. Massive shame, because I always want Sumpthing to win a battle for a change, but it almost always gets a terrible draw. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 14:49, November 9, 2019 (UTC)

Impact vs Chompalot

Chompalot 2016
Votes for Impact Votes for Chompalot
  1. Chompalot was I think one of my favourite robots to have been brought out for the reboot because it looked just as brilliant as it did in the preboot and still worked the same, picking up a win too and ending in a memorable ball of flames. Impact may try to whack Chompalot with its tail, but Chompalot should be the better pusher here, especially if it can get Impact within its jaw. Chompalot will deposit Impact in the pit. Jimlaad43(talk) 17:22, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  2. Chompalot's jaw seems to be a good shape for Impact, so Impact should be pitted by Chompalot pretty quickly. Adster1005 17:31, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  3. There's just a lot on Impact to easily grab hold of for Chompalot, and given that it survived Ironside3 Impact's hammer won't be enough to stop it. Combatwombat555 (talk) 17:39, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  4. Crush force isn't the thing that matters here - it's going to be the jaw having the necessary strength to grab onto Impact's exposed frame and thus allow Chompalot to drag around the thwackbot to throw it into the pit later on. --TheyCallMeDoot (*doot doot*) 17:47, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  5. Chompalot easily performs a Razer vs pre-2002 Tornado on Impact. Hogwild94 (talk) 18:40, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  6. Lets hope Chompalot doesn't end up in a position where a repeat of its Series 8 exit could realistically happen. CrashBash (talk) 19:39, November 8, 2019 (UTC)

  14. I think this will be closer than what the votes suggest, since Impact's sit-and-spin will probably cause some decent damage and score valuable aggression points on its opponent. Ultimately, Chompalot will eventually grab its opponent and control this matchup, likely resulting in a pitting. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 14:49, November 9, 2019 (UTC)

Typhoon 2 vs Stinger

Typhoon 2 Stinger
Typhoon 2
Stinger
Votes for Typhoon 2
  1. Fantastic prediction CW555! Typhoon 2 is in this heat, and the Series 7 champs don't exactly have an easy start! Stinger is definitely a potential stumbling block, but Typhoon 2 is too well driven to let this happen. Stinger's reach with its mace, especially when it spins on the spot, will allow it to miss the teeth of Typhoon and Kan-Opener through the slanted top part of the cone. Of course, it will take just one shot breaking through the armour to stop Typhoon 2's spinner dead and leave it as a weaponless pusher, which we know it was awful at doing. However, Stinger's problem is that the Sit-and-Spin is basically it's only option to win this, so it'll have to do it all battle. Without Meltybrain, Stinger will spin in the same spot forever, and Typhoon isn't stupid enough to drive in at that. They'll just drive around the spinning robot and wait for Stinger to stop, change direction or slow down in general before striking a blow to the wheels of Stinger. The tyres will be massively vulnerable to Typhoon's spinner, and once they get a puncture, it's all over as Stinger won't be able to accurately or quickly spin on the spot to cause Typhoon issues. A shame to lose another Grand Finalist in round 1, but oh well... Jimlaad43(talk) 17:22, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  2. The wheels are really vulnerable, and as soon as Typhoon 2 gets a hit, there is next to no chance for Stinger, as they can't perform to their best. Another Grand Finalists falls in Round 1, another big shock. Adster1005 17:33, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  3. Called it! Honestly, I doubt Stinger's ability to 'Kan-Opener' Typhoon 2- there's no way that a blunt mace is piercing in the same way as a sharp jaw, and landing a good hit will just off the cone or knock Typhoon 2 away without slowing it down much. We know that Stinger doesn't like taking big impacts to the wheels, and big impacts are exactly what Typhoon 2 specialises in. Combatwombat555 (talk) 17:44, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  4. Ouch, what an awful draw for Stinger. I think it'd have a win against most of the 'bots in this heat, but against Typhoon 2, it'll be knocked into submission by the FBS and knocked out easily. The top 8 'bot will have an easy road, but Typhoon 2 VS Corkscrew should be a really interesting fight if that ever happens... --TheyCallMeDoot (*doot doot*) 17:50, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  5. Two of RW's greatest spinners come face to face, and sadly the exposed tyres make it no contest. Hogwild94 (talk) 18:41, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  6. Stinger would have probably beaten nearly every single other robot here. Just stating the obvious because it has no chance here. CrashBash (talk) 19:41, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  7. Stinger is one of my all time favourite robots so to see it face one of my "least inclined" robots and one that I can't see it beat is down right depressing. I almost swear Jim's hatred for axlebots that we've seen Infernal Contraption face Carbide and now Stinger face Typhoon 2 is done on purpose (of course it's all just coincidental :P) But yeah, Typhoon 2 probably won't KO Stinger as 13 Black, Fluffy, Pussycat and S3 (for the most part) failed to kill Stinger despite heavy weaponry but in all cases (except Fluffy) the spinner comes out on top for very good reason, damage is damage and Stinger is easy to damage. I wan Stinger to somehow pull a surprise all of a sudden but I sadly don't think that's the case...Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 21:18, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
To be honest, I'm sad to see Stinger go because it would have been interesting to see how it would have fared against reboot robots. Anyway, if I were to ever rig it to remove my favourites there's no way I'd be that obvious. Jimlaad43(talk) 21:27, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  8. Stinger was incredibly vulnerable to spinners, and I never really thought 13 Black's weaponry was all that effective to begin with. Typhoon is in a class of its own, and Stinger isn't the type of robot that can stop a spinner effectively before it gets up to speed, especially considering how Typhoon likes to be driven. You have to chase it down before you can stop it, and Stinger isn't fast enough to pull that off. Even if Stinger gets a hit in with its mace, the impact will be reduced by the cone shape of Typhoon's shell, and it certainly won't do more impact damage than Typhoon is capable of doing to itself. Badnik96 (talk) 21:22, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  9. I think this battle will be quite an ineffective watch. I don't see Typhoon 2 getting much bite out of Stinger. The problem is, Stinger itself can't wear Typhoon 2 down. So we'll just wait for Stinger to either lose drive on one side, or just take a few of gashes and lose on a judges. NJGW (talk) 03:41, November 9, 2019 (UTC)
  10. Sick as a parrot. As much as I'd love to vote for Stinger as it could definitely put on a better show than most of Typhoon's Series 7 run-in, this will likely be a carbon copy of the S3 fight, with or without the final KO at the end. Datovidny (talk) 11:00, November 9, 2019 (UTC)
  11. Until Typhoon 2 runs into the brick wall of the reboot flippers, it's in path to do well in this deceptively strong heat. RIP Stinger. TOAST 11:48, November 9, 2019 (UTC)
  12. A painful draw for Stinger. Its past experiences against spinners like S3, Fluffy and 13 Black suggest that the wheels can't take many heavy hits before something goes wrong, even if at first glance the damage may only look superficial. Typhoon 2 to show the Cadet how it's done. VulcansHowl 12:36, November 9, 2019 (UTC)
Votes for Stinger
  1. Honourable vote for one of my favourites. Typhoon 2 is an all-time great, this cannot be denied. But whenever it faced a non-flipper, it always seemed to suffer some damage, be it what Kan-Opener dealt to it, to X-Terminator dislodging one of its drive chains. Stinger is capable of delivering powerful blunt trauma, and is a robot that Typhoon 2 will struggle to properly attack due to its sit-and-spin attribute. My point is, will a powerful blow from Stinger's mace be capable of delivering a blow that will dislodge belts inside Typhoon 2? Considering what Stinger has been capable of doing in the past, it is very possible. Also, I suspect that blows to the wheels may not actually harm Stinger as much as some suggest, since they survived against other spinners. In my opinion, Stinger's blunt trauma is going to be more deadly to Typhoon 2 compared to what the full-body spinner can deliver in return. If Stinger hits a drive belt, Typhoon 2 is in danger of losing the other. If Stinger damages the weapon's internals, it is game over for the Scottish machine. And one final thought... Stinger could bend the flag at the top of its opponent, which will not prevent Typhoon 2 from moving, but will certainly make the spinner more difficult to control, in a battle where control is vita. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 17:59, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  2. I'll give Stinger my support here. Yes they have exposed wheels, but the only robot to cause visible damage to Stinger's wheels was Pussycat, driven by none other than David Gribble. Stinger faced big spinners on four occasions and despite being immobilised twice in their Series 6 melee and in their Series 5 heat final by S3, they did survive to judges' decisions against both 13 Black and Fluffy, perhaps suggesting that this may not be the walkover that people may anticipate. Stinger's an awkward beast to fight at the best of times, and if they can disrupt Typhoon 2's spin-up at any point in this match, then I believe Stinger has as much chance of causing internal damage to Typhoon as vice versa. Outright aggression could win Stinger this match, as Typhoon 2 has proven to struggle against robots that aren't scared to come at them - see SJ, Storm 2, or what could've been with Atomic. Typhoon may not take this on damage either, as Stinger's design revolves around having no juicy panels or excess armour for Typhoon 2 to tear away, à la Hammerhead 2 or Iron-Awe 2.1. If Stinger can survive the clock and fight as we know they can fight, then I truly believe they can take this, as much as this vote may be in vain. SFCJack (talk) 20:06, November 8, 2019 (UTC)

Pika 2 vs Schumey Too

Pika 2 Schumey Too
Pika2
Schumey Too
Votes for Pika 2
  1. Schumey Too was quick and everything, but it won't be able to push Pika 2 around too much without being pushed back. A good climb up the wedge and ride into the disc could see Schumey flipped over, where it can't self-right. Jimlaad43(talk) 17:22, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  2. Pika 2 to get underneath Schumey Too and push it around the arena before eventually pitting it. Adster1005 17:33, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  3. Nothing to add to Jim's vote, really. Combatwombat555 (talk) 17:46, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  4. Schumey, Schumey Too, one-flip-and-done'd... --TheyCallMeDoot (*doot doot*) 17:51, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  5. I don't know much about either of these two machines, but I have to give it to Pika on the basis that wedge > no wedge. It doesn't matter how fast you are if your opponent can keep facing you, I think a lot of X-Terminator's opponents in Series 7 can attest to that. Badnik96 (talk) 23:29, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  6. Honestly, it's Schumey's general lack of control that has me worried here. CrashBash (talk) 10:43, November 9, 2019 (UTC)
  7. Contrary to my vote above, I will back Pika 2 on ground clearance as it does look slightly lower to the floor. Datovidny (talk) 11:00, November 9, 2019 (UTC)
  8. Really difficult choice. The driving of Pika II wss a far cry from the Cobra of the future, and Pika's wedge was quite poor for its era - but it seems to be just about capable of wedging under Schumey Too, which could start to bring the disc into effect. TOAST 18:50, November 9, 2019 (UTC)
Votes for Schumey Too
  1. Honourary vote for Schumey Too, seemed a decent enough pusher and may just be able to push Pika 2 sufficiently to get the win. Hogwild94 (talk) 18:42, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  2. I really cannot ignore how vulnerable Pika 2's wheels were. Schumey Too just ramming into them will probably compromise the machine's mobility. In addition, I struggle to see Pika 2 overturning Schumey Too, especially considering it failed to do so against X-Bot. Overall, I feel Schumey Too will generally avoid the wedge, stab the wheels and generally control this battle with some well-timed pushes and slams needed for a judges' decision victory. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 18:43, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  3. I do think Schumey Too is more likely to get to Pika's sides than fly up their wedge. Being the more agile robot and perhaps more aggressive because of it, Schumey has my backing. SFCJack (talk) 20:09, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  4. Schumey was one of those robots that could have done well if it had better luck. It dominated The Steel Avenger easy and honestly I can see the same here, especially with the vulnerable wheels.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 21:20, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  5. I'm backing Scoomey Aswell to use its lifters cleverly enough to win. NJGW (talk) 03:44, November 9, 2019 (UTC)
  6. I’d like to point out that while Schumey Too performed especially well against The Steel Avenger, the forks were only able to work effectively due to the Avenger’s chasm of a ground clearance in Series 3. In their normal position, they don’t appear to sit flush with the floor, which could prove problematic against the considerably lower ground clearance that Pika 2 has. The only major issue I see for Pika 2, though, is that it showed really poor traction while trying to push Maximum Torque and X-Bot. This could be costly if Schumey Too can get off the wedge quickly, and Schumey Too’s solitary battle showed that it had the tenacity to continuously ram The Steel Avenger whether or not it would lead to a lift. As it is, Schumey Too could prevail by ramming Pika 2 from the sides and rear, perhaps puncturing the tyres and coming out as the faster and more aggressive machine. Winner: Pika 2 (8-6)

The Executioner vs Hard

The Executioner Hard

Hard
Votes for The Executioner
  1. Lowkey feels like a fight that Hard would bottle. I see a mistimed flip or two, and The Executioner causing sufficient damage with the claw. NJGW (talk) 03:45, November 9, 2019 (UTC)
  2. Oddly I do think The Executioner has a better wedge for this match, and stronger reliability overall. Purely a gut feeling that I might later disagree with, but tentatively backing NJGW. TOAST 10:36, November 9, 2019 (UTC)
  3. The Executioner was not that bad, to be honest. I feel that with its experience in grabbing awkward shapes, it can probably grab Hard from the rear. The Executioner was a decent enough pusher as well, and I feel it will be able to grab and push Hard around with the newer machine being unable to retailiate. Ultimately, I argue that The Executioner's aggression and control shall be enough to take out the unreliable Hard. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 14:49, November 9, 2019 (UTC)
Votes for Hard
  1. Can Thexey self-right? If Hard is able to get around the side of Thexey it could tip the long robot over and once the crusher is resting on the ground, that's probably game over and Hard can sit back, relax and try to work out how the hell it's going to outperform its Loanerbot namesake! Jimlaad43(talk) 17:22, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  2. I don't think The Executioner can self-right, however, even if Hard doesn't flip it over, it will win on aggression and control, by pushing it around the arena. Adster1005 17:35, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  3. Hard strikes me as an awkward machine for The Executioner to get a decent grip on- being small might help it, but it's awkwardly shaped and with tough armour. I'm not convinced Hard will be able to flip The Executioner in response, but getting to the sides, wedging underneath and carrying it around should give it the decision on aggression. Combatwombat555 (talk) 17:50, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  4. It looks like The Executioner can run inverted, so there's no one-flip-and-done. That said, though, Hard has the longboi beaten in every aspect, with a flip over securing an eventual win after Executioner can't do anything while on its head, which'll mean a quick dive into the pit. --TheyCallMeDoot (*doot doot*) 17:53, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  5. Small flipper perfect for tipping The Executioner onto its side. Hogwild94 (talk) 18:43, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  6. It has been established that The Executioner can run inverted, but I'm fairly sure Hard will pretty much wedge under and dominate from start to finish. CrashBash (talk) 19:42, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  7. Even if The Executioner does manage to bite down on Hard, is it going to he able to hold the Belgian machine? Cause damage? Drag it around the arena and dictate the pace of the fight? I doubt it. I'd sooner back Hard to get around to The Executioner's long sides, get the flip in and nullify their offensive power. I wouldn't expect a KO from this fight, but Hard should take the decision. SFCJack (talk) 20:12, November 8, 2019 (UTC)

Votes for All Torque (2)
  1. I'm going to vote for All Torque, as I believe that All Torque is the better pusher, but both machines will have periods on top in the fight, however, All Torque will push Black Widow into the more dangerous places. A close judges' decision, which AT will win on aggression, but only slightly. Adster1005 17:38, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  2. If we're losing Small, then I'll show my support for All. Having proven its worth in the Trials, I'd back the Series 2 machine to take this against Black Widow on aggression. SFCJack (talk) 20:17, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  3. Once again I agree with the "odd" side. Black Widow, rewatching its fights, just doesn't impress me that much. It may get some decent pushes in only for All Torque to just about be the more dangerous...especially with the exposed wheels that can be bashed into (plus the spikes on the front of All Torque) and potentially deflated or damaged somewhat.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 21:23, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  4. I don't rate Black Widow at all. I would say like 0.5 of its four combat wins were actually thanks to Black Widow itself. It's not quick, not particularly erll driven, and not that low to the ground. Black Widow's fight with Conquering Clown 2 was essentially a wedge-on-wedge fight and it lost comfortably. All Torque to win somewhat convincingly. TOAST 04:35, November 9, 2019 (UTC)
  5. I dunno, All Torque looks like it'd be able to knock Black Widow upside down if it hit the robot at the right angle. And then what can Black Widow do? CrashBash (talk) 10:44, November 9, 2019 (UTC)
  6. It might have the high ground clearance, but just acting as a rammer in a hit and run situation should score All Torque some good points. Datovidny (talk) 11:00, November 9, 2019 (UTC)
Votes for Black Widow (Extreme Warriors)
  1. All Torque was a good pusher, but it has high ground clearance, something which the other good pusher in Black Widow can exploit with its massively high wedge to slide under, lift some wheels of All Toque up to limit its pushing power and shove the Series 2 robot into danger, such as a House Robot or the pit. Jimlaad43(talk) 17:22, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  2. Black Widow's lower wedge and ground clearance gives it a comfortable advantage and win here. Hogwild94 (talk) 18:43, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  3. How does All Torque get underneath Black Widow to push it? All Torque has miles of ground clearance even at the front, while Black Widow seems to have a nice low wedge. Badnik96 (talk) 21:17, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  4. For me, this comes down to one thing and one thing only: All Torque has some great push, but the problem is that it has no wedge to help push around Black Widow. On the other hand, Black Widow's wedge, although kinda weak, can do enough to prevent All Torque from overpowering it which is all that it needs to push around the S2 'bot reliably and eventually slam it into the pit. Plus, I'm pretty sure the milling cutters can mangle All Torque's internals if it gets in underneath good enough. --TheyCallMeDoot (*doot doot*) 23:56, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  5. All Torque to start aggressively - probably ramming Black Widow at angles. But after a bit, it'll start to calm down, and Black Widow will pace itself to victory. NJGW (talk) 03:46, November 9, 2019 (UTC)
  6. Overall, I fear that with Black Widow having a decent wedge, should All Torque dash towards it, it will become unbalanced and topple over. Overall, I can see this occurring. Even if it does not, I trust Black Widow with its wedge advantage to generally outpush its opponent for a judges' decision victory. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 14:49, November 9, 2019 (UTC)
  7. Black Widow may not have been the best four-wheel drive invertible pusher around, but its wedge should at least do something to take advantage of All Torque's gaping ground clearance. VulcansHowl 15:05, November 9, 2019 (UTC)

Mantis vs Small Torque

Mantis Small Torque
Mantis
Small Torque
Votes for Mantis
  1. Small Torque is tiny and non-dangerous to even a lightly armoured Mantis. Mantis can pick Small Torque up in its claws and hold it aloft. Who's up for adding this to the OotA list? Jimlaad43(talk) 17:22, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  2. Small Torque, which might be able to do some damage, will be picked up and be fed to the hazards by Mantis. Eventually, Mantis will pit Small Torque to take the win. Adster1005 17:39, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  3. No OotA- in the reboot arena I doubt Mantis lifts up high enough to be able to drop it out- but Mantis will otherwise dominate. Repeated lifts and carries should see it control the fight with Small Torque unable to do much in return. Combatwombat555 (talk) 17:52, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  4. All Mantis really needs to do is to wait for Small Torque to burn itself to death and it can do whatever it wants. Then again, a few lifts and clamps are gonna be able to do a lot more than Small Torque's grinding disc. --TheyCallMeDoot (*doot doot*) 17:54, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  5. For me, Small Torque's the perfect size and shape for Mantis to carry at multiple stages of the fight. With Small Torque essentially incapacitated while suspended in the air, I can't see past Mantis here. SFCJack (talk) 20:19, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  6. If anything for me, rewatching Small Torque's fights made me realise its actually less potent than I remember. Mantis to win in a walk. Toon Ganondorf (t c) 20:20, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  7. I'm sorry Space but Small Torque, although a decent robot was terrible in terms of reliability. In both its fights it sort of slowed down and the second fight died relatively too easily. The fact that all Mantis has to do is lift Small Torque once to cause hefty amounts of problems is a MAJOR FLAW.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 21:28, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  8. Again, wedge beats no wedge, especially if the opponent is a vertical spinner. That disc has pitiful bite and I really don't think it'll do much more than cause sparks if it lands a hit. Mantis was a pretty competently-built robot. Badnik96 (talk) 23:32, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  9. I like the votes on the other side. Mantis does swerve a hell of a lot and can be exploited in defence. However, I don't think Small Torque is quite the exact unassuming spinner bot that I'd be willing to give the edge to. NJGW (talk) 03:48, November 9, 2019 (UTC)
  10. Like other people have said, Small Torque does deserve a second chance as it was way ahead of its time, being a compact vertical spinner long before that became the design of choice. However, Mantis is an extremely big obstacle for it to climb. It's legions better than Eric, after all. TOAST 10:34, November 9, 2019 (UTC)
  11. Not really sure what Small Torque can do. In such a compact arena, it should in theory be easier for Mantis to get Small Torque into a dangerous situation. CrashBash (talk) 10:45, November 9, 2019 (UTC)
  12. If Mantis can topple Kat 3, and Eric can topple Small Torque, Mantis can do it to Small Torque. Simple reasoning but simple outcome. Datovidny (talk) 11:00, November 9, 2019 (UTC)
  13. One thing I should note is that Small Torque’s downfall came from its cooling system being damaged and left inoperable following its melee. Any reliability issues it picked up thereafter shouldn’t be present at this very early stage, which after some thinking might turn out to be a close contest between these two wildly-different machines. Small Torque has a lot of torque to ram Mantis and the disc to grind away at its sides, but how much damage can it actually do? What’s more, it was itself susceptible to being lifted by the likes of Eric, which might give Mantis hope in repeatedly clamping and carrying it to the hazards. This will emphasise superior control on Mantis’s part, which in tandem with the aggression-based judging criteria will carry greater weight as the battle goes on. VulcansHowl 12:36, November 9, 2019 (UTC)
Votes for Small Torque
  1. You know what, Small Torque is actually a machine that I find to be super underrated on the Arena Forums. It was quick, it had a powerful disc and was capable of performing a Barber-Ous, as it nearly did against Splinter, almost toppling the Semi-Finalist. Mantis is good, granted, but Small Torque can probably dodge its opponent and target the weak armour and wheels at the sides and rear. Mantis' lack of armour is going to be the main factor here, because Small Torque is compact enough to avoid Mantis' death grip for the most part, and even if it DID get caught, so what? Mantis hardly achieved anything with its death grip, aside from wasting time trying to achieve an out of the arena on Jabber. Overall, I feel Small Torque can achieve a surprise knockout. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 18:02, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
  2. Yeah, I'll go for Small Torque too, its spinner seems good enough to cause good damage to Mantis' exposed frames and tyres. Hogwild94 (talk) 18:44, November 8, 2019 (UTC)
Winner: Mantis (13-2)

  3. An unfortunate draw, but Chompalot can't really do anything. Typhoon 2 to get the knockout. Adster1005 09:58, November 10, 2019 (UTC)

  5. Chompalot's durable, but it has no answer to Typhoon 2. Panels will get sent flying and the dragon will lose on the judges' after the excessive damage dealt to it is too much. --TheyCallMeDoot (*doot doot*) 10:56, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
  6. Simple decision. Typhoon 2 is about the worst possible shape for a robot like Chompalot. Raz3r(talk) 11:50, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
  7. I can see Chompalot trying to ram Typhoon 2 to disrupt its first attack, but not being able to get a good hold of the shell or cause any Kan-Opener-style damage to it. Judging from how it fared against Ironside3, Chompalot is very likely to put up a brave fight to the end, but lose out on points by getting torn apart in the process. Kind of like Carbide vs Gabriel if you really think about it. VulcansHowl 12:29, November 10, 2019 (UTC)

  7. Assuming Colossus’s flipper works doesn’t even guarantee it can self-right with that bar in the way. Prizephita should end this quickly. Raz3r(talk) 11:50, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
  8. OK, lets get some things straight here. We know that Colossus can self-right because we have word of it from the Lightning team, as it did so in the qualifier. What concerns me here, though, is that it self-righted on one occasion, but then failed on another. The issue shouldn't be whether it can self-right, it should be whether it will self-right. Since Prizephita is guaranteed to self-right through design alone, that immediately gives it the advantage. CrashBash (talk) 14:29, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
  9. Prizephita's weapon perfect for flicking Colossus onto its side and stranding it. Hogwild94 (talk) 18:54, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
  10. As above. Datovidny (talk) 21:04, November 10, 2019 (UTC)

  12. Nothing to really add. Combatwombat555 (talk) 22:16, November 10, 2019 (UTC)

ODT-Zero vs Destruct-A-Bubble

ODT-Zero Destruct-A-Bubble
ODTZero
Destruct-A-Bubble
Votes for ODT-Zero
  1. Destruct-A-Bubble will swing its axe around which will be mildly entertaining, but it certainly won't translate to a victory. ODT-Zero will completely control the pace of this one, using its wedge shape to breach the highly exploitable sphere shape, and the lifter will minimise the amount of time that DAB spends with its wheels on the floor. Comfy run for ODT-Zero, you love to see it! TOAST 09:10, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
  2. ODT-Zero can get underneath DAB and push it into CPZs, the flame pit, the spikes to rack up the aggression points. Adster1005 10:06, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
  3. DaB’s axe will cause minimal damage, and I think ODT-Zero will be able to get underneath, push it around into danger, maybe get some lifts in and show a lot more control generally. Raz3r(talk) 11:50, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
  4. In essence, ODT-Zero isn't that much different to Rick - a two-wheel drive invertible wedge with a rear-hinged lifter/flipper that could easily hoist Destruct-A-Bubble up. Whether or not it is capable of turning the Bubble over is open to speculation; however, regardless of how many swings Destruct-A-Bubble gets out of its overhead spike, I have faith that ODT-Zero will turn out to be the more controlling machine. VulcansHowl 12:11, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
  5. Like I said in the previous battle, Destruct-A-Bubble's weapon is far more effective as a grappler than an actual axe. There is literally nothing to grapple on ODT-Zero. CrashBash (talk) 14:32, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
  6. DaB isn't a very good offensive machine. It can only really push on broad sides. ODT-Zero to control this one. NJGW (talk) 18:51, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
  7. ODT-Zero can wedge underneath Destruct-A-Bubble and push to victory. Hogwild94 (talk) 18:56, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
  8. Destruct-A-Bubble's axe will do little, which means this'll descend largely into a pushing match- and a truncated sphere just isn't going to be as suited to that as a massive wedge. Combatwombat555 (talk) 22:19, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
  9. Agree with Combatwombat here. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 22:21, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
  10. Wedge versus no wedge, yet again. Can't outpush your opponent if your wheels are off the ground. Badnik96 (talk) 23:19, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
  11. I dunno why it took me this long to vote, 'cause ODT-Zero is pretty damn capable of negating Destruct-A-Bubble's attacks and hitting back with its own attacks in return. Yes, it survived Dantomkia, but for all we know the qualifier was nothing but DaB getting flipped all over the place and losing convincingly. ODT-Zero could pull off a similar outcome. --TheyCallMeDoot (*doot doot*) 01:13, November 11, 2019 (UTC)
Votes for Destruct-A-Bubble
  1. Destruct-A-Bubble won't be caught on ODT's wedge, it seems to steeply angled to get under DaB easily. The axe of DaB won't do much, but I can see the big ball being the more useful pusher of the two and getting ODT-Zero cornered and trying to use the axe to score points. It'll be a close one, and a split decision, but should just edge towards DaB. At least here, punching an opponent on their way down isn't punishable by 2 points. Jimlaad43(talk) 08:45, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
  2. Of course I'm throwing a vote to DaB. It managed to survive Dantomkia and M2 I think a significantly weaker class lifter in ODT isn't gonna do much. Meanwhile, as silly as the axe is, it will be more damaging, more aggressive and perhaps more controlled. With all that what can ODT do in return...nothing. Oh dear.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 10:29, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
This is the second time now that you've used Destruct-A-Bubble's battle with "M2" in its favour... you realise that Mincer is a completely separate machine to M2 right? TOAST 10:47, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
  3. I stand by my argument from the previous round, if ODT can be outpushed by a 30kg machine, I can't believe for a moment that it can do anything here. Datovidny (talk) 21:13, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
Winner: ODT-Zero (11-3)

Trax vs Mayhem

Trax Mayhem
Trax
Mayhem
Votes for Trax
  1. I don’t fancy Mayhem’s chances at all. The weapon is unproven, causing very little damage to the side of Rhino in the one attack it got in, and the team didn’t seem too confident about its spin up time considering how long they were spinning on the spot to get it to full speed. Not only that, but I reckon Mayhem’s spinner is the wrong height anyway to hurt the tracks from the side, unless it gets past the wedge at the front. Trax slid around a bit, but it still showed great control in its Melee fight and should be able to deflect any blows with its front wedge. Trax is faster, lower, and should dominate this fight with a lot of pushing, even if it won’t wffectively get its own weapon into action. Raz3r(talk) 11:51, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
  2. I can't see Mayhem even really getting to Trax's...well, tracks. It has a high ground clearance and regardless of how slippery Trax is, it was still reasonably effective. Honestly, I feel it'll score more aggression points, and any of the House Robots are equipped to take out Mayhem's tyres once the fight inevitably shifts into the CPZ. CrashBash (talk) 14:33, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
  3. Yep. Echoing the thoughts on this side. NJGW (talk) 18:53, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
  4. Mayhem's disc may have been decent but I don't think it can reach the tracks. More likely for me would be Trax charging in, scooping Mayehm up and charging it around, controlling the entire fight. I know it's a melee situation, but at no point did Trax look in danger to Shredder's discs, and the Storm 2 fight proved how robust the machine was as a whole. Datovidny (talk) 21:13, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
  5. You know what... Don't bring wheels into the arena count: 50. But not because of Trax, persay. See, I agree with CrashBash here, I think Trax is powerful enough to just shove Mayhem into one of those CPZs, and I just cannot see Mayhem's wheels surviving, especially against Matilda. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 21:34, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
  6. Here's the thing about this matchup: Mayhem's disc might spin fast, but it doesn't have a ton of bite, due to its four teeth. What this means is that it's going to be "grinding" against a robot like Trax instead of delivering big knockout hits. Trax's tracks are protected from the sides so Mayhem can't really slice them. All Trax needs to do is keep control, and it looked to be pretty good at that in its fights. Also, Mayhem's tires are suspect enough that I think a robot with decent torque could remove them by pushing sideways, or by pushing Mayhem into a CPZ. Easy win for Trax here. Badnik96 (talk) 22:21, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
  7. I needed time to debate this one in my mind, as I've been a long-time devotee to the Mayhem Defense Brigade over the years. Mayhem's disc is statistically strong, and the robot had decent enough fundamentals to back it up, while Shane Swan machines tend to be knocked out easily. And yet... Marc and Badnik make convincing cases. I'm willing to back Traz under their logic. TOAST 23:16, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
  8. I'm convinced by this side. Trax can shove Mayhem back while it tries to get the disc up to speed and feed it to the House Robots. It wouldn't take much from Sir Killalot or Matilda for example to damage a wheel on Mayhem and restrict it from doing anything. Jimlaad43(talk) 10:56, November 11, 2019 (UTC)
  9. Yeah switching sides. I wasn't too confident in my previous vote and looking back I doubt that Mayhem could get the tracks. Meanwhile some good ramming attacks should do it.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 12:46, November 11, 2019 (UTC)
Votes for Mayhem
  1. Trax will be left with No Trax after this, as Mayhem will get in and attack the tracks, and be more aggressive and do more damage as a whole. Adster1005 10:08, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
  2. Trax is just too damn slippery for its own good, which is not a great thing when you need to stop a spinner from going. Mayhem will most likely rev its weapon up in the meantime and carve into Trax's armour, eventually severing a tread to win. --TheyCallMeDoot (*doot doot*) 11:03, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
  3. Trax may well dominate and push Mayhem around at first, but as soon as the disc catches a track, it's game over. Hogwild94 (talk) 18:57, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
  4. I can't really see Trax losing a track, but I also can't see it really getting decent pushes in on Mayhem. Trax skittering around the arena and Mayhem's flywheel sending both apart on impact means this battle is likely to be short on control, and that should favour the more damaging weapon and the one that lands more attacks- and that should be Mayhem. Combatwombat555 (talk) 22:29, November 10, 2019 (UTC)

  1. Interstellar has a much larger flipper, and one that should actually be able to overturn their opponent. IMML needs to try and feed Hard towards the House Robots to let them do what is necessary and take victory. Jimlaad43(talk) 08:45, November 10, 2019 (UTC)

Scorpion (7) vs Mantis

Scorpion (7) Mantis
Scorpion
Mantis
Votes for Scorpion (7)
  1. Mantis may lift Scorpion up at some point, but Scorpion's disc once it comes into play will cause absolute havoc on the sides and unprotected innards. A wheel to maybe be sliced as it gets through the armour and finds it sitting there. Jimlaad43(talk) 08:45, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
  2. Yeah, Mantis can grapple, but, uhhhhhhh, it has almost no armour whatsoever. And conveniently, Scorpion has its own flywheel to cause havoc to Mantis' exposed frame and rip it to pieces. Mantis may actually start strong initially, but after a grapple, Scorpion's flywheel will come in to tear Mantis to shreds and get a KO. --TheyCallMeDoot (*doot doot*) 11:06, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
  3. If Mantis isn't careful, Scorpion's disc can easily tear the exoskeleton and the wheels within. And based on the start of its battle against Dantomkia, there is a good chance that Scorpion may use the disc to attack the sides straight away. Once one of Mantis's wheels loses drive, there's no going back... VulcansHowl 12:54, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
  4. A very close battle I feel, certainly closer than what would happen if their real life counterparts were to ever fight. But Scorpion's damaging weapon and Mantis' limited armour slightly swings the balance for me. CrashBash (talk) 14:41, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
  5. Mantis may have a good period in the fight, but it just doesn't drive in a stable-enough way to tell me it can control this fight throughout. One mistimed swerve or moment of poor angling will see Scorpion punish Mantis. NJGW (talk) 18:54, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
  6. Scorpion's weapon perfect for getting at the frames and causing damage, possibly to the internals too. Hogwild94 (talk) 18:58, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
  7. I may have been inclined to vote the other way and I can definitely see the other side, but I'm not sure if Mantis will be able to effectively scoop Scorpion up nice and cleanly to avoid the spinner. As Toast says, it is influenced by whether Scorpion goes in disc first or not. Datovidny (talk) 21:13, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
  8. Well, considering I backed Small Torque against Mantis, I guess my vote here is no surprise. Now, to be fair, Scorpion has a similar shape to Jabber, and we know how well Mantis did against the latter. But Scorpion is better-controlled and has a much more powerful spinner. Mantis' armour is not going to survive the blows for long, and eventually, the semi-protected wheels are going to be hit, securing a knockout. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 21:34, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
  9. If Scorpion can get to the sides- and Mantis had a tendency to expose its sides- Mantis is losing its armour, and from there probably a wheel. Combatwombat555 (talk) 22:32, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
Votes for Mantis
  1. I think Scorpion will be too indecisive in whether or not to use its wedge or disc, and then with either outcome, Scorpion just shoots straight up Mantis' forks. Mantis can neutralise its foe from there. TOAST 09:17, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
  2. Scorpion will get a first, good initial charge in, but from the second Mantis will take control quite easily. Adster1005 10:13, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
  3. Scorpion could easily destroy the wheels or armour but it can also be grabbed and abused...Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 10:32, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
  4. Scorpion's disc isn't large enough to keep Mantis from scooping it up on the first opportunity and I think the Mantis team is wise enough to go for the immediate dump down the pit. Badnik96 (talk) 23:13, November 10, 2019 (UTC)

Pika 2 vs Cassius

Pika 2 Cassius
Pika2
Cassius S2
Votes for Pika 2
  1. Either Rex gets the flip and he wins, or Rex does not get the flip and he loses. There is no inbetween. I have to be a doubter here. One mistimed charge in raised wedge mode could shoot Cassius straight into the disc of Pika II, and this kind of thing happened worryingly often with Rex. Think that Marco is gonna survive this one. TOAST 09:19, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
  2. Cassius is certainly a marvel of engineering for its time, but all the complicated stuff it has will prove to be a bit of an issue against Pika 2. The wedge of Pika will most likely get under at some point which will allow Pika 2 to deal damage to Cassius' wedge and seal a victory after Cassius becomes incapable of getting under Pika in any meaningful way. --TheyCallMeDoot (*doot doot*) 11:09, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
  3. I've changed my mind. Cassius will make a mistimed charge and hit the disc of Pika 2. This will severely impact the ground clearance, and Pika 2 should be able to control the fight from there. Adster1005 13:26, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
  4. Weird one here, but I shall narrowly back Pika 2 here. I feel Cassius at times struggled to flip robots that are easily flippable, like Wizard, and its ground clearance will probably cost it here. Indeed, Pika 2's wedge is capable of getting underneath, while the disc can probably buckle the wedge. That shall be enough to allow the spinner to control the battle from there. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 21:34, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
  5. I can't see Cassius getting under Pika 2, I really can't when it actively has to lower its body down cause of its suspension. Pika 2 to outwedge, push and rip into the lighter machine. Sam (BAZINGA) 22:33, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
Votes for Cassius
  1. Cassius should be able to get Pika flipped at some point, and I really have no idea how Pika is supposed to react when flipped. The disc seems like it'll stop the wheels from touching the ground, which will certainly be an issue if it wants to get going. Cassius should turn it over, leave it writing and then go and attack the Schrödinger House Robots. Jimlaad43(talk) 08:45, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
  2. Yeah, Cassius could shoot up the wedge, OR he could shoot halfway up the edge, stop and reverse off. Whilst Cassius clearly has some exploitable weaknesses, I don't think Pika 2 will be the one to expose them. I don't see how Pika 2 is going to combat being flipped over. CrashBash (talk) 14:36, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
  3. Pika 2 exactly the sort of robot its arguable either way whether Cassius would beat it in real life; benefit of the doubt says Cassius will miss the disc and get the flip it needs. Hogwild94 (talk) 19:00, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
  4. Agree with the above. I would bank on Cassius being far less vulnerable to its counterpart's weapon than vice versa. Datovidny (talk) 21:04, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
  5. Now that I've went and seen Pika 2 fight, I see no reason why Cassius would lose to it. Pika had no pushing power and needed to drive under another robot an agonizingly long time to actually hit it with the disc. With Cassius' variable suspension I think it could reverse off any time before the disc would connect. And even if it did, what could it actually do to Cassius? It barely scratched Maximum Torque's paint, if that. I think I can trust Cassius to get the killer flip in at some point during the battle. Badnik96 (talk) 22:28, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
  6. Yeah, okay. I initially was leaning towards Pika 2, but I forgot just how many times Pika 2's spinner made contact with Maximum Torque without doing anything to it - Pika 2's spinner evens seized up. It also only slightly moved X-Bot's panel wedge out of place. Cassius will struggle to gets its flipper arm into play either, but it will look the more aggressive - doing its signature long-run-and-charge attacks. Pika 2 won't be able to replicate that with its lack of acceleration and poor pushing power. NJGW (talk) 23:31, November 10, 2019 (UTC)
  7. Honestly when i said this was tough I mean it! Neither robot will do anything and although Cassius has weak armour, tendency to lift the wedge at the worst of times and poor control. Pika is in a worst position. It disc wasn't too damaging and it certainly wasn't aggressive..which for me is the winning factor. No flip will take place, that is for certain but what Cassius CAN do and will win on, is aggressive ramming attacks. These ramming attacks will be too problematic for Pika and will score aggression points (the highest Judging factor remember!) and """"maybe"""" cause some "damage" to Pika.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 13:04, November 11, 2019 (UTC)

  5. Can I just say that Cassius vs Pika II was a really good fight, the kind I love to see on the wiki - two robots from completely different eras with very different success rates, that are somehow still an even match. UK Series 2 runner-up against a Dutch Series 1 heat finalist? Yes please! Granted I would've been happier if Pika II won, but now we know what it managed to avoid. 6. Goodbye. Badnik96 (talk) 22:09, November 11, 2019 (UTC)
  7. I just can't trust pre Hypno-Disc armour against Typhoon 2, even on a good robot like Cassius. Plus, it's flipper is too narrow and ground clearance too suspect to stand a good chance of a killer flip. Hogwild94 (talk) 22:24, November 11, 2019 (UTC)
  8. Cassius accelerates quickly enough to worry Typhoon 2 here. But it'd need to be a modernised version to win this. OHKO, sadly. NJGW (talk) 22:28, November 11, 2019 (UTC)
  9. Poor Cassius, it was screwed no matter what it drew this round. Typhoon redeems its free pass and gets the OHKO in the process. --TheyCallMeDoot (*doot doot*) 22:33, November 11, 2019 (UTC)
  10. I'm not sure there are any front-hinged flippers I'd back to beat Typhoon 2, and Cassius certainly isn't one of them. Typhoon 2's going to tear up Cassius' wedge if it tries to get underneath, scuppering any chance of getting underneath, and then it can tear it apart at will. Combatwombat555 (talk) 23:34, November 11, 2019 (UTC)
  11. Horror draw for Cassius 2. This will not be pretty. Raz3r(talk) 00:08, November 12, 2019 (UTC)
  12. The late Rex Garrod probably wouldn't care if Cassius got decimated. After all, his main aim was to put on a good show for the audience, and Typhoon 2 is among the most spectacularly destructive spinners in the entire show's history. If Cassius fell to a one-hit KO, Garrod would be more disappointed than anyone else. VulcansHowl 09:14, November 12, 2019 (UTC)
  13. Ouch. But yeah, Cassius was doomed regardless of who it faced in my opinion, I would have voted for ODT-Zero against it. Typhoon 2 to destroy its Series 2 opponent. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 17:50, November 12, 2019 (UTC)

Scorpion (7) vs Interstellar: MML

Scorpion (7) Interstellar: MML
Scorpion
Interstellarmml
Votes for Scorpion (7)
  1. Scorpion being invertible is the crucial aspect which tips the balance of this battle towards the older robot. Interstellar's massive flipper should be able to bulldoze and shove Scorpion around the arena when it gets around the side, but if Scorpion is flipped, it can still drive off. Crucially, if flipped, Scorpion's weapon is no less effective, so I can see it starting to chase and harry Interstellar to try and get around the side and rip a wheel off with its aggressive little flywheel. Remove one wheel and the second becomes easier to tear off. Jimlaad43(talk) 19:35, November 11, 2019 (UTC)
  2. I was thinking Interstellar, but saw the wheels, and that swings me towards Scorpion, as it can be more aggressive and could very well take out a wheel, before taking out the other. Adster1005 19:39, November 11, 2019 (UTC)
  3. Maybe not as destructive as with Arena Cleaner, but Scorpion will almost certainly have its way. CrashBash (talk) 19:42, November 11, 2019 (UTC)
  4. Can’t disagree. Those wheels look easy to target and seemed to be made of wood!Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 20:32, November 11, 2019 (UTC)
  5. It's a shame we had to lose Mantis so soon, but I do think Scorpion is probably in the clear now. You all know I don't buy most of the increasingly exaggerated 'exposed wheels' claims that the rest of the wiki seems to love so much, but if JAR was able to disable half of Interstellar's drive without even hitting the wheel, then yes I do think Scorpion can hit the tyre of the celebrity-driven machine. There are very few robots who deserve a "don't bring wheels into the arena" remark more than Interstellar: MML - did Robo Challenge really think it had a chance at beating the likes of Arena Cleaner even if its wheels were protected? Well OK, it did beat The Cat somehow, but y'know. TOAST 20:37, November 11, 2019 (UTC)
I have a feeling that the "exposed wheels" comment is directed mainly at me. Time to break out this GIF in response! SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 18:06, November 12, 2019 (UTC)
  6. Everything falls into Scorpion's favor here, even if I disagree with it getting this far. Badnik96 (talk) 22:09, November 11, 2019 (UTC)
  7. Another for the album... Hogwild94 (talk) 22:25, November 11, 2019 (UTC)
  8. You know how all the RoboChallenge loanerbots have exposed wheels (not counting Diotoir), right? Imagine Scorpion's flywheel destroying those wheels with little problems. --TheyCallMeDoot (*doot doot*) 22:35, November 11, 2019 (UTC)
  9. Even ignoring the wheels, Interstellar's flipper is full-width, so I think if Scorpion delivers enough hits to the side to bend the chassis it'll jam. Granted, it's still a decent wedge, but I don't think Interstellar was well-driven enough to claw back the points. Combatwombat555 (talk) 23:34, November 11, 2019 (UTC)
  10. The biggest problem I actually have for Interstellar: MML is the weak control. The flipper wasn't bad, but Scorpion has a lot more experience and a damaging weapon to go with it, whereas Interstellar completed no flips on mobile opponents. Raz3r(talk) 00:08, November 12, 2019 (UTC)
  11. Sooner or later, the tyres will get slashed. Interstellar might have a few moments where it gets total control over Scorpion, but I'm not sure how long it can keep sustaining the pressure without once exposing the sides. VulcansHowl 09:14, November 12, 2019 (UTC)
  12. Don't bring wheels into the arena count: 51. The control factor is what leads me to vote for Scorpion. Wow, Scorpion has escaped A Fantasy Audited War 3, Series 7 League and now Ragnabot 3 heats. Highly rated or just lucky? SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 17:50, November 12, 2019 (UTC)
  13. I think Scorpion would have more trouble reaching Interstellar: MML's wheels as some may think, and I'd back the BotS machine to get at least a few flips in. But over the course of the fight, Scorpion would dominate on damage and bar pitting them, nothing Interstellar: MML does in retaliation would cause a KO. Scorpion for me, but that's a foregone conclusion at this point. SFCJack (talk) 20:36, November 12, 2019 (UTC)
  14. MML didn't like spinners. Datovidny (talk) 21:20, November 12, 2019 (UTC)
Votes for Interstellar: MML
  1. Going Interstellar. The tyres are far back and Scorpion's disc doesn't have range. Interstellar's armour will be fine, and prising under Scorpion's front or back even slightly can take the tyres off the ground and make life difficult. NJGW (talk) 22:01, November 11, 2019 (UTC)

Votes for Prizephita Mach 2
  1. Prizephita avoids a second consecutive heat final annihilation to a champion spinner and instead gets the closest thing to a free pass out of the remaining 8. Prizephita to flip and dominate the Dutch robot, eventually pitting it. Jimlaad43(talk) 19:35, November 11, 2019 (UTC)
  2. Prizephita will be on the aggressive throughout, before eventually pitting ODT-Zero. Adster1005 19:37, November 11, 2019 (UTC)

  4. Even if the Bubble survived this, as much as i’d find some excuse to get it through... I’d struggle. A much better build in terms of weaponry and armour i’d argue.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 20:34, November 11, 2019 (UTC)
  5. Two similar designs here but I think I trust Prizephita's driving skill more than ODT's. Badnik96 (talk) 22:09, November 11, 2019 (UTC)
  6. Prizephita has the better weapon and the better ground clearance. Hogwild94 (talk) 22:26, November 11, 2019 (UTC)
  7. I'd love to see ODT-Zero make it through to the QQF's, but Prizephita can bully ODT relentlessly and win a judges' decision after a good few flips. The reliability claims also seem concerning, but as this is a 3-minute fight, I think Prizephita can last long enough and win through bullying the oversized V3 clusterbot with its flipper. --TheyCallMeDoot (*doot doot*) 22:38, November 11, 2019 (UTC)
  8. While Pripzehita Mach 2 had its wobbly reliability moments, let's not forget that the depleting battery power against Wild Thing was in a 5 minute fight, not a 3 minute one like this will be. I'm confident Prizephita Mach 2 will take control early on with a few flips; it looks lower and has the superior weaponry in my mind, and whilst I can see ODT-Zero making a bit of a recovery later on, I don't think it'll be enough to sway the judges. Raz3r(talk) 00:08, November 12, 2019 (UTC)

  10. Are we finally getting rid of the new Infernal Contraption? Same rationale as before, only this time a robot that can get underneath and flip it. Datovidny (talk) 21:20, November 12, 2019 (UTC)
Votes for ODT-Zero
  1. I've really enjoyed seeing ODT-Zero get this far, but I honestly think it's got another round left in it. Prizephita's self-righting is never really called into question as it always rolled back over when Thermidor II chucked it, but what happens if a slower lifter like ODT-Zero turned it over? The dessert spoon isn't exactly going to throw it back onto its wheels. ODT-Zero could win this in as little as one flip, and it's not like that's Prizephita's only flaw. When do you ever see people talking about Prizephita Mach II losing drive on one side after being flipped by Thermidor twice, its Series 4 breakdown, or its depleting battery power against Wild Thing? I don't think Prizephita is as far ahead of ODT-Zero as people make out, and it does have the more appropriate weapon for winning this, considering ODT-Zero is invertible. TOAST 20:25, November 11, 2019 (UTC)
I've spoken about Prizephita's glitchy drive numerous times, actually. CrashBash (talk) 22:38, November 11, 2019 (UTC)
  2. Yep, Toast has brought out the trump card I have been waiting to say this entire Heat. Prizephita just is not reliable. Toast already mentioned three examples from Prizephita's limited pool of battles, and yet even he missed another incident! Watch again, and notice that Prizephita started Round 2 against The Alien with one side drive from the moment activate was sounded! Prizephita gave Wild Thing a good fight, but it should never have reached the Heat Final. It only did through complete incompetence from its first two opponents. NJGW (talk) 22:10, November 11, 2019 (UTC)
  3. I'm liking the arguments of this side more. I'll add that Prizephita's armour was really quite thin- if ODT-Zero manages to corral Prizephita into a CPZ, that could be game anyway. Combatwombat555 (talk) 23:34, November 11, 2019 (UTC)
  4. I too think ODT-Zero takes this. The Dutch machine is invertible on top of having a lifting weapon of its own, so any flips Prizephita could manage wouldn't trouble them. ODT-Zero has the potential to push Prizephita around and even flip them over, and I'm not convinced that Prizephita would cope as well with being overturned as ODT-Zero. Trax vs Corkscrew

Trax Corkscrew
Trax
Corkscrew S6
Votes for Trax
  1. Maybe it is just me, but I feel that Trax's ability to become a bat/bot out of hell will help it here. Corkscrew is a powerful machine, but when it is at full speed, even the slippery Trax can slam into it wedge-first. The speed Trax is going at, combined with its low ground clearance and Corkscrew's lack of stability, might seriously be enough to overturn the full-body spinner. Even if that does not occur, the Typhoon 2 rule still applies here, and Trax can capitalise on a stunned Corkscrew to achieve the flip of doom. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 19:39, November 11, 2019 (UTC)
  2. nope, not just you, Space - I'll join you, albeit casually because the scores are one sided. I've never rated Corkscrew too highly. It has destructive flashes, but it also drives intermittently, its weapon rarely dishes out a lot of hits in a fight, and it loses in cheap ways. Trax is a hardy machine. It'll be a drawn out one, but eventually Trax will pin Corkscrew in a danger area and punish it. NJGW (talk) 22:26, November 11, 2019 (UTC)
  3. This might be a basic argument to put forward but Corkscrew is probably more vulnerable to a wedge with a front hinged arm than anything else. If Trax can withstand an initial onslaught, which it probably can, then it can catch Corkscrew cold and finish the job. Datovidny (talk) 21:20, November 12, 2019 (UTC)
Votes for Corkscrew
  1. I only relented and switched to Trax at the end of the last fight because it was pointed out just how slow and vulnerable Mayhem was to spin its flywheel up, and that the spinner itself was an unknown quantity. Corkscrew suffers from neither of these issues. It will stay away, spin up quickly and tear into Trax before it has a chance to come skidding towards Corkscrew. The awkward flipper design of Trax means it will have to hope the wedge at the front is steep enough to Track-Tion the spinner. But it won't be, and Trax will have the tracks and the entire side mechanisms and armour torn off by the other Scottish spinner. Jimlaad43(talk) 19:35, November 11, 2019 (UTC)
  2. Both are decent machines, but Corkscrew has the damage potential, meaning Trax is looking very vulnerable here. Corkscrew to win on an easy Judges' decision here. Adster1005 19:38, November 11, 2019 (UTC)
  3. I cannot see Trax getting Corkscrew over. We can all picture that "OotA attempt" on Sub-Version which didn't even come close to turning it over. Corkscrew is such a small machine that even if Trax wedges under a motionless Corkscrew completely, I think the front-hinged flipper is too far back to actually topple Corkscrew. Then turn on Corkscrew's spinner and factor in the distance that Trax will be sent skidding away after a blow, and that momentum isn't going to be disrupted. If I think that Trax needs the judges to beat a weaponless Corkscrew then I can only see it losing quite badly once the spinning begins. TOAST 20:30, November 11, 2019 (UTC)
  4. Good try Space but there’s almost no way the sides aren’t getting decimated.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 20:35, November 11, 2019 (UTC)
  5. Corkscrew is miles better than Mayhem and will find no problems tearing the tracked machine to shreds. Badnik96 (talk) 22:09, November 11, 2019 (UTC)
  6. If Trax shoots in quickly enough, I can definitely see it maybe toppling Corkscrew, but I just feel Corkscrew is too potent and clever for that to happen. Hogwild94 (talk) 22:26, November 11, 2019 (UTC)
  7. Trax only has one chance to make it towards Corkscrew and disrupt it for a one-flip-and-done. Will that happen, though? I don't think it will, as by the time Trax gets to Corkscrew, it'll already be roaring up to full speed and ready to shred a track off. --TheyCallMeDoot (*doot doot*) 22:40, November 11, 2019 (UTC)
  8. I think Corkscrew's blades might be a bit high to take a track out, but it could still hit the main body of Trax. CrashBash (talk) 22:41, November 11, 2019 (UTC)
  9. I voted for Mayhem, I can't really not back Corkscrew here. Combatwombat555 (talk) 23:34, November 11, 2019 (UTC)
  10. Corkscrew is a lot lower than Mayhem, not to mention faster to spin up its weapon and quicker in general. Every hit it delivers will deflect Trax away, and unless Trax gets lucky, I don't think it'll get anywhere near overturning Corkscrew with the lifter. Raz3r(talk) 00:08, November 12, 2019 (UTC)
  11. As much as I'd love to see Trax advance, I can't see past Corkscrew getting to one of those sides and tearing up a track. Should be a matter of Trax being incapacitated before Corkscrew does anything silly. SFCJack (talk) 20:22, November 12, 2019 (UTC)
