#Chaos 2 is very poorly armoured, and for all of 259's faults, it was actually pretty well controlled alongside its destructive capabilities. Chaos 2 would be doomed in a head-on attack; 259 has enough reach to create a crevasse in Chaos 2's flipper, so Chaos 2 would have to try and get round the sides instead. That may well expose its own sides to the vertical spinner if timed wrong, and I think a couple of 259 hits could damage Chaos 2's side severely, killing it quickly. #George Francis has made it evident at times when he's scared of a weapon. And this will certainly be one. He'll hold back, try to find a specific angle to drive, but then be hit. The thing is, Chaos 2 is vulnerable all over. If 259 hits it at the front, the flipper panel is being split considering S.M.I.D.S.Y.'s spinner did similar. If it gets hit next to the flipper panel, then it's in and around the wheel area, and Chaos 2's tyres are so close to its own armour that a hit will likely jam them up and help Chaos 2 drop a drive chain. Then if 259 randomly hits around the back... yeah. Just cannot see Chaos 2 having an opportunity here. [[User:NJGW|NJGW]] ([[User talk:NJGW|talk]]) 22:42, January 15, 2020 (UTC)

Round 1

Cobra (Belgian) vs Storm 2

Cobra (Belgian) Storm 2
Cobra S10
Storm2
Votes for Cobra (Belgian)
  1. It'll be a tight battle for sure, but it's a battle I feel that Cobra will ultimately come out on top of. There's no way it wins the ground clearance war, that much is true, but seeing as it's considerably faster-paced, I'm not even sure if Storm 2 will have enough time to do anything before Cobra backs away and gets in another charge. BTW, my computer is going to get upgraded tomorrow (it's Windows 7), and who knows how long that'll take, so I won't have a chance to vote on anything else for a while. CrashBash (talk) 21:47, January 15, 2020 (UTC)
I'm doing updates every 2 days, so you'll have until the evening of the 19th to get your votes in for the next round. Jimlaad43(talk) 21:52, January 15, 2020 (UTC)
  2. Storm2 has the ground clearance advantage, but that isn't really relevant. If Cobra just drives straight over Storm2, that still favours Cobra as it's being more aggressive. Storm2 in return cannot complete a good push on Cobra without the Belgian machine simply driving away scot-free. Cobra may not complete many actual pushes, but it'll still be far in the clear. TOAST 21:50, January 15, 2020 (UTC)
  3. Hmm, this is pretty tough. Ultimately I find myself won over by Toast's argument. Hogwild94 (talk) 21:55, January 15, 2020 (UTC)
  4. What annoys me about this fight is I think Series 7 Storm 2 wins this fight with ease, but the series 8 version loses hard. This Storm 2 doesn't have good pace on it, and didn't use its lifter offensively in any of its Series 8 fights, unlike the Series 7 version, so I don't see why it'll use it here. It does have better ground clearance than Cobra, but Cobra is much more agile and will showcase all of the aggression. Honestly, for future tournaments, I think we'd be better to use the Series 7 Storm 2 instead. I'd back it against the Series 8 version of itself, and I'd back it against Cobra, but without the speed or the confidence to use the lifter, storm 2 gets dominated here. Votes for Storm 2
  1. An interesting battle between two reboot pushers, but this is easily Storm 2's battle. It has the ground clearance advantage to make sure it is the one going under Cobra at every opportunity. It can use its flipper to overturn Cobra, where the claw will get in its way while running inverted and reducing the effectiveness of the wedge. Storm will do the bullying here, not the other way around. Jimlaad43(talk) 21:42, January 15, 2020 (UTC)
  2. Yeah, Storm2 has the better ground clearance and can use the lifter to get Cobra over, an easy Judges Decision for Storm2 here. Adster1005 21:48, January 15, 2020 (UTC)
  3. In a battle against another pusher, Storm2 will use its lifter more. And it might only need to use it once, because the way both these machines operate while overturned is notable - with Cobra struggling for traction in periods after Apollo helped turn it over. Cobra, while exciting and explosive in certain moments, also has haphazard moments too, while Storm2 is a consistent presence across a fight. This should all help edge things for Storm2 . Thor (10) vs Hydra

Thor (10) Hydra
Thor S10
Hydra S7
Votes for Thor (10)
  1. Thor will have to work for this, it needs the axe to come into play and pummel the top of Hydra relentlessly to stop Hydra's flipper from working because the axe wasn't the most reliable of srimechs on the red machine, and Hydra's flipper is certainly capable of flipping Thor over, but Thor should have the power to render the flipper broken at least and can keep Hydra at bay for the rest of the fight. Jimlaad43(talk) 21:42, January 15, 2020 (UTC)
  2. If old armour Hydra couldn't stand up to Dominator 2, I don't think even new armour Hydra could deal with Thor. CrashBash (talk) 21:48, January 15, 2020 (UTC)
  3. And there goes my final non-Carbide sweepstake. Hydra to be relentlessly hammered/axed away at, leading to an eventual KO. Adster1005 21:49, January 15, 2020 (UTC)
  4. Even if Hydra completed a flip, it would be worse off for it. Thor would just self-right and then whack it before Hydra's slow retract even completes. TOAST 21:53, January 15, 2020 (UTC)
  5. Thor has sufficient experience and driving ability to avoid getting flipped and get the axe into play enough to win on aggression. Hogwild94 (talk) 21:56, January 15, 2020 (UTC)
  6. Hey, it's a rematch! Hydra is probably going to fare even worse after this fight than in their Series 7 melee... Raz3r(talk) 22:27, January 15, 2020 (UTC)
  7. Very sad to see such a fun machine to vote on in Hydra, fall in such a no contest. On goes Thor though. NJGW (talk) 22:39, January 15, 2020 (UTC)

Chaos 2 vs 259

Votes for Chaos 2
  1. 259 could certainly send Chaos 2 home in a bin bag, but George Francis is too good of a driver to allow this to happen and will just chuck 259 over within the first few seconds. Without a srimech and a weapon belt made of liquorice, a stranded 259 will be counted out. Jimlaad43(talk) 21:42, January 15, 2020 (UTC)
  2. 259 gets flipped over and the impact of its disc hitting the floor tears it off its frame immediately. And also knocks out a few drive belts for some reason. Basically this is a fight it just can't win purely because of how big of a glass canon it is. Also, so I really need to remind you guys that Chaos 2 is substantially faster than 259? All this talk about holding back and trying to figure out a specific angle to hit, but rather than being hit, he'll just dodge away from 259 and keep playing the waiting game. I thought we were all well past the stage of glorifying 259.... CrashBash (talk) 21:49, January 15, 2020 (UTC)
  3. Yeag, George Francis will be far too controlled to let 259 deal damage to it. I sense a potential one flip and done, but it might not, but whatever happens, 259 is going over. Adster1005 21:50, January 15, 2020 (UTC)
  4. As CrashBash (I think, but it could've been RA2) said many years ago of a hypothetical fight of 259 vs Tsunami: "One flip, and 259 would probably self destruct". Hogwild94 (talk) 21:57, January 15, 2020 (UTC)
Votes for 259
  1. George Francis is a good driver yes, but we never really saw him take on a proper spinner. The only examples we saw were Hypno-Disc (struggled to flip an immobile machine out of fear), and 13BLACK (lost). Next in line would be, like, Wild Thing or Stinger. I think George will panic and either overflip, lose his flipper in a bad collision, or lose part of his drive in a good hit from 259. TOAST 22:01, January 15, 2020 (UTC)
  2. Ive backed 259 to beat machines like Razer in the past, and it’s hard for me not to then say it’d beat Chaos 2. Chaos 2 isn’t a brick like Wild Thing, 259 will cut through and cause terminal damage before any recoil takes place on the weapon. Toon Ganondorf (t c) 22:06, January 15, 2020 (UTC)

Arena Cleaner vs Tricerabot 3.0

Arena Cleaner Tricerabot 3.0

Tricerabot 3
Votes for Arena Cleaner
  1. Preboot US competitor vs Reboot overweight spinner? Bin Bag list fodder methinks. Jimlaad43(talk) 21:42, January 15, 2020 (UTC)
  2. If Arena Cleaner weighs 122kg (supposedly), then how much of that weight is in the blade? Because this is going to end very badly for Tricerabot, unless the cardboard somehow manages to gum the blade up...and I don't think cardboard works that way. CrashBash (talk) 21:51, January 15, 2020 (UTC)
In fairness, they did manage to fit the same blade in weight for Cathadh, so it can't be too unreasonable, but then again even Last Rites fits in the weight limit somehow... TOAST 21:55, January 15, 2020 (UTC)
  3. We know what made the dinosaurs extinct. Arena Cleaner. Adster1005 21:52, January 15, 2020 (UTC)
  4. In principle, tanky American pusher should beat loanerbot spinner. In practice, Top 3 Strongest Spinners in Robot Wars causes major damage to 2002 Box. TOAST 21:55, January 15, 2020 (UTC)
  5. See, this is where having paper bags as armour is gonna cost you. Hogwild94 (talk) 21:58, January 15, 2020 (UTC)
  6. What actually is Tricerabot 3.0's armour made of? Whatever it is, it'll be reduced to dust in the air once Arena Cleaner connects with it. The dinosaur should evolve into a bird ASAP and just fly out of the arena to avoid any pain. Raz3r(talk) 22:34, January 15, 2020 (UTC)
It's the wrong family for that. In fact, it's at completely the wrong end of the evolution scale - it's often said that "a dinosaur can be defined as Triceratops, the House Sparrow, their closest common ancestor and all their descendants.". Velocirippa would be the better bet there. CrashBash (talk) 22:42, January 15, 2020 (UTC)
  7. Aw, dammit, bye Tricerabot. Interesting to see what Arena Cleaner meets next, mind. NJGW (talk) 22:43, January 15, 2020 (UTC)
