How Many Points Will They Score?
- 50 points. Wheely Big Cheese has been given the worst heat possible pretty much, as it isn't really designed to turn around corners sharply or deal with obstacles. I can see it getting some barrels down, but either getting trapped in the pit, bullied by a House Robot or falling off the ramp and getting trapped. Jimlaad43(talk) 08:44, April 21, 2020 (UTC)
- 90 points Yeah, the Pinball isn't Wheely Big Cheese's area. However, it could get in underneath the House Robots, and therefore maybe get a few more points. It'll go for the barrels as well, but struggle for anything else. Adster1005 08:49, April 21, 2020 (UTC)
- 80 points. I think 50 is a whisker harsh, but Wheely Big Cheese's huge size will be a massive detriment to it. Especially considering that Series 4 Wheely Big Cheese really wasn't even all that good. If a House Robot manages to dislodge a wheel, then it's going absolutely nowhere fast. - 75 Points I was a little confused to see the fourth Heat and then I noticed you're doing two at once :P The issue the Cheese has is that it swing about and has its moments of pausing. This is bad for a challenge like this where control is key. The barrels will be knocked and maybe a tire but I can't see it doing anything else....Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 08:55, April 21, 2020 (UTC)
- Yeah, I'm putting the tournaments that require very few battles each round up together to not let us get bored, like with the Annihilator which is one battle a round. Sumo Basho and Robotic Soccer will go up together later in the tournament too. Jimlaad43(talk) 08:59, April 21, 2020 (UTC)
- I imagine the 10 Robot Rumble round will also be paired up with something. CrashBash (talk) 09:03, April 21, 2020 (UTC)
- Because of the nature of a 10-Robot Rumble vote, it almost exists as a 4 battle voting session anyway, so it won't need to be paired with anything specifically, it'll just be a very quick heat. Jimlaad43(talk) 10:52, April 21, 2020 (UTC)
- A part of me want the 10 way to be something ridiculously over the top with Chaos 2, Hypno-Disc, Razer, Pussycat etc. :P Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 12:40, April 21, 2020 (UTC)
- 110 points. Roger Plant will probably know his machine is not suited for this event. Henceforth, he will probably go for some of the more exposed targets first, to get the points on the board. Both sets of barrels to be targeted first considering how open they are to attack, meaning about 50 points. Wheely Big Cheese can probably outmuscle Sergeant Bash for a 50 point target, before slamming into the multiball release for 10. Eventually, this is going to turn into another Roger Plant vs Sir Killalot fiasco. Think I remember telling you ladies and gentlemen about how Roger Plant was pulling out all the stops to try and get revenge on Sir Killalot, even challenging him to a battle against The Big Cheese for Series 4. Wheely Big Cheese and Sir Killalot are going to fight at some point, with the latter winning once more. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 09:44, April 21, 2020 (UTC)
- 40 points. The slow, ponderous nature of Wheely Big Cheese combined with its awkward shape makes its inclusion in this heat a death sentence. The only things I can really see getting taken out are the barrels and multi-ball before it gets swarmed and stopped dead in its tracks. --TheyCallMeDoot (*doot doot*) 10:39, April 21, 2020 (UTC)
- 90 points - Wheely Big Cheese wasn't badly driven, and I can see it picking up barrels and one target. Eventually, though, its sheer size means it's going to get pinned. Combatwombat555 (talk) 13:45, April 21, 2020 (UTC)
- 75 points - Aha, brilliant! I love to see the usual heat winners getting screwed over by the random format, with this being the biggest example since Diotoir got lumped on a Tag Team with Oblivion 2. The most comparable real-life Pinball Warrior run in Series 4 here is Stinger, as both machines are unwieldy axlebot-typed machines, so I'm going to borrow Stinger's score of 75 here. - I think Wheely Big Cheese is being slightly underrated here, and I'm also worried that more awkward-looking machines might get harshly judged in general, with more basic robots being given too much credit. Don't get me wrong, they can and are legitimately factors for some machines, but let's not forget something like Hypno-Disc outscored more standard designs like 101, S.M.I.D.S.Y. and Spikasaurus. Anyway, as for Wheely Big Cheese, it is an awkward thing to control, which will hinder it. However, its wheels are also big and will allow for traction in awkward situations. The flipper itself is also super long, and will allow it to reach out for the Point Targets - especially Bash's. I'm going for a similar pattern to Space's vote. I'm going to say Wheely Big Cheese will turn left, swipe down four barrels, turn towards Bash's 50 point target, and push its front in deep enough to reach the target. After that, it will probably get lost for a bit, bumbling around and eventually knocking the Multi-Ball Release. Down in the bottom right corner/middle area, it'll bumble around, but will close out proceedings by reaching into Matilda's target to claim another 50 points. An overall total of 130 points. - You mention Spikasaurus. Now I know a lot of people argue about how Spikasaurus is underrated/overrated/just rated, but irrespective of all that, I must say that Spikasaurus' Pinball run may be one of the biggest failures in Robot Wars history. Honestly, Spikasaurus was well-designed for this event; it was quick, compact, agile and resilient, qualities a robot needs to do well in Pinball. Yet, Spikasaurus just doesn't score points throughout most of the run. Quite frankly, if one was shown Spikasaurus' battles beforehand, they would most likely think it could compete with the big bots in Gemini and Spawn of Scutter. The fact it came joint-last and was outscored by Banshee, Stinger and a poorly S.M.I.D.S.Y. is nothing short of embarrassing. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 17:41, April 21, 2020 (UTC)
- Four from one set of barrels, a 50 point target, the multi-balls and the 75 point target = 155 points. Hogwild94 (talk) 17:42, April 21, 2020 (UTC)
- 40 points: Wheely Big Cheese is so long and ponderous and prone to scrapping with Killalot, Roger Plant will take the same approach to round one as he did in the actual championship. He'll sweep over the barrels, get stuck in the pit like Stinger did, and then get wedged under Killalot for the rest of the round. Toon Ganondorf (t c) 23:17, April 21, 2020 (UTC)
- To be honest I'd never even considered that. I wouldn't put it past Roger Plant to score 0 points just for the sake of using the entire run to try and flip Killalot over. Jimlaad43(talk) 23:28, April 21, 2020 (UTC)
