Welcome to the first heat of Series 7 League. Pussycat returns to the UK Championship after missing Series 6 under tragic circumstances. Mega Morg and Ewe 2, sequel to Lambsy, also return having failed to qualify for the previous series, while NEATer Machine makes it first UK appearance since the Second World Championship. They, along with Series 6 Round 1 dropout R.O.C.S. and newcomers Herbinator, Jabber and Mayhem, seek to impress under this new format. So, LET THE WARS BEGIN!

When voting, remember to state at the start of your vote whether the battle will end in KO or judges' decision.

R.O.C.S. vs Mayhem[]

R.O.C.S. Mayhem

Votes for R.O.C.S.
  1. KO. Mayhem looks so pushable though. It will only take one ramping under for R.O.C.S. to pick a wheel off the ground and push Mayhem around, bring the crusher down to clamp and send it down the pit. Jimlaad43(talk) 00:49, January 1, 2019 (UTC)
  2. KOI don't think, based on what I can remember Mayhem was that destructive. I feel R.O.C.S' wedge and crusher should be able to ram and grab hold of Mayhem from here to there, being able to push it into hazard or a pit. In fact the wheels seemed easy to remove, so if the wheels are gone then it would be counted out anyway.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 08:19, January 1, 2019 (UTC)

  1. KO. Happy New Year everyone! To celebrate the start of 2019, let's start this tournament. And, well, an interesting battle to start with, with R.O.C.S. only having made a cameo appearance last year and Mayhem having not competed since Ragnabot 2. Anyhow, Mayhem's disc is alright I suppose, not in the same league as Supernova mind you, but I am confident that it can tear through R.O.C.S.'s exposed internals. The black machine also looks a little too slippery for R.O.C.S. to grab hold of, leaving the crusher at the mercy of Mayhem's spinner. Eventually, the damage should take its toll, resulting in a knockout and Mayhem starting 2019 and this tournament on a high. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 00:00, January 1, 2019 (UTC)
  2. Judges' Decision. R.O.C.S. immediately looks frail in this fight - with such an open body against a spinner. However it actually fended off a couple of hits from Topbot - a spinner of similar capabilities if not more than Mayhem. Still, Mayhem will prove hard to chomp down onto, and its top armour looks pretty solid too. Mayhem to take this on a Judges' decision by being the more lively. NJGW (talk) 00:06, January 1, 2019 (UTC)
  3. JD. I don't rate Mayhem's disc that well, and I do think R.O.C.S. can be competent with the right opponent, but Mayhem is just so low that I struggle to see R.O.C.S. actually grabbing it. Thus the entire battle is several jab 'n' move, jab 'n' move attacks that score Mayhem high on the aggression meter. CrashBash (talk) 06:07, January 1, 2019 (UTC)
  4. KO - I'm not sure how good Mayhem's disc is, but R.O.C.S.'s innards are just so exposed that even a mediocre weapon could cause severe damage without too much trouble. Even charging straight up the wedge and into the crushing zone looks like it'd sever something important, and Mayhem's disc looks just about high enough off the ground to be able to get to R.O.C.S.'s wheels. Combatwombat555 (talk) 12:21, January 1, 2019 (UTC)
  5. KO. ROCS is pretty well controlled, and while Mayhem's weaponry is an unknown quantity, I think it's safe to assume it can damage the largely exposed ROCS. Topbot failed to cause damage to the wheels most likely because the disc was so low that the lower bar on ROCS' armour. Mayhem won't have this issue, and its high ground clearance may even aid it in riding up ROCS' body and perhaps cause more damage. Raz3r(talk) 13:52, January 1, 2019 (UTC)
  6. KO. An exhibition match for the 2000rpm spinner of Mayhem, I'd back a Judges' decision with the reboot time limit, but with five minutes to play, Mayhem should secure this one outright. TOAST 14:32, January 1, 2019 (UTC)
  7. KO. Happy New Year all! Mayhem's spinner may not be that good, but it doesn't have to be to wreck those very exposed innards of R.O.C.S.. Hogwild94 (talk) 18:29, January 1, 2019 (UTC)

Mega Morg vs Pussycat[]

  1. JD. If this was Mini Morg, I would have stated that Pussycat would have won by knockout, considering the yellow machine's unreliability. However, Series 7 Mega Morg, as I have stated many times before, sparked a major improvement over previous Morgue machines. Seeing as it was able to tank blows from Edge Hog's axe and seemingly working at full pace throughout both its battles, I am confident that Mega Morg will survive to the end. However, although its lifter will trouble Pussycat at times, including toppling the former Runners-Up, I think its armour should prove exploitable for Pussycat's discs. With damage worth more than aggression, and Pussycat being more likely to be aggressive anyhow, the feline should easily win this battle on a judges' decision. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 00:00, January 1, 2019 (UTC)
  2. Judges' Decision. Yeah, I was going to mention Edge Hog's axe as well. This version of Morg just seemed to have the fundamentals down. It probably won't see it win the fight, but at least it will take some credit from the battle by forcing it the distance. NJGW (talk) 00:07, January 1, 2019 (UTC)
  3. Judges Decision. The rollover design will help deflect Pussycat's blade away from anything important inside. Mega Morg will have a hard 5 minutes, but it will survive all of them. Jimlaad43(talk) 00:51, January 1, 2019 (UTC)
  4. JD. Pretty much what everyone so far has said. I imagine Pussycat could still be the favourite for this group, and maybe even the heat, but it'll have to work hard to get it. CrashBash (talk) 06:08, January 1, 2019 (UTC)
  5. JD. Yep, there's not much Mega Morg can do.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 08:19, January 1, 2019 (UTC)
  6. JD - Yeah, agreed. Combatwombat555 (talk) 12:22, January 1, 2019 (UTC)
  7. JD I'd be surprised if Mega Morg didn't get any flips in at all, but Pussycat is simply too good for it. Raz3r(talk) 13:52, January 1, 2019 (UTC)
  8. JD. Don't forget, Robot Wars fans, if the Judges say it's been immobilised then they're out of it... they're out of it... when the Judges say... it's been immobilised... TOAST 14:33, January 1, 2019 (UTC)
  9. JD. Mega Morg will last the distance, but Pussycat will have caused too much minor damage. Hogwild94 (talk) 18:31, January 1, 2019 (UTC)

Perfect start for Mayhem the rookie, although Mega Morg should be given respect for holding out for five minutes against Pussycat. At this point, it and R.O.C.S. would be heading out, but both now have two chances to prove themselves with this new format. Robots who finish runners-up in their group will go on to face the runners-up of the heat's other group for a spot in the Rumble, providing an incentive to remain competitive even if there is clearly a dominant robot in the group. 1. JD. A bit tougher for Mayhem, but another win for it, albeit by Judges' decision. Mega Morg will again survive for a Judges' decision, but the problem is I struggle to see what it can actually do to Mayhem. If it uses its lifter, Mayhem will simply slide off, being a slippery machine thanks to its tyres. Attempts to utilise its disc will result in little damage being caused, while allowing Mayhem to showcase its disc with little resistance from the yellow machine. Therefore, although Mega Morg will lift Mayhem a few times, the damage caused by the black machine's spinner will be enough to outweigh the aggression points Mega Morg would have scored. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 19:30, January 2, 2019 (UTC)
  2. JD I don't wanna vote for Mayhem but the factor of damage (albeit small) will certainly sway this. Also Series 9 Supernova looks almost exactly like Mayhem in every way (I'm certain I've said this before)Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 19:46, January 2, 2019 (UTC)
  3. JD. Yeah, what can this Mega Morg do to Mayhem? Actually, I'd probably vote for it against Ex1 Mega Morg too. In fact, any Morgue robot except Ex2 Mini Morg. Hogwild94 (talk) 20:12, January 2, 2019 (UTC)
  4. JD. I have no doubts here, Mega Mandom.org was famously slow on the trigger, which often stopped it from completing one flip, never mind the several it would need to outperform an invertible spinner. Mega Morg’s armour seems good, but it’s weapon is flimsy, and will be scarred if not severed entirely. Mayhem to win on all four categories. TOAST 22:37, January 2, 2019 (UTC)
  5. JD. Like its previous fight, I do think Mega Morg could get some decent attacks in, but I don't think it'll come close to finishing off Mayhem. On the other hand, Mayhem's more likely to score any sort of damage points in my mind, and should have the edge on aggression too, at least. Raz3r(talk) 23:43, January 2, 2019 (UTC)
Votes for Mega Morg
  1. Judges' Decision. Again, Mega Morg's armour seems solid in Series 7, and in general this will be a harder machine for Mayhem to deal with than the more-exposed, narrow-weapon R.O.C.S.. Mega Morg has an incredibly wide flipper, and Mayhem is not a harder machine to either turn over from the side or front on. I don't think Mayhem will cause sufficient damage, and notably: it won't KO Mega Morg. This is key because if it can't kill its opponent then its spinner will very likely stop working at some point. I think Mayhem will have a bright-enough start, but as the fight progresses, Mega Morg will take full control. NJGW (talk) 19:50, January 2, 2019 (UTC)
  2. KO. I can see Mega Morg's flipper giving Mayhem enough knocks to break something loose inside. Plus it could die on recoil, or get a wheel ripped off by a House Robot. Jimlaad43(talk) 21:21, January 2, 2019 (UTC)
  3. JD - Yeah, I'll give it to Mega Morg. That's decent armour on Mega Morg that Mayhem will struggle to cause much damage to, and Mega Morg should be able to get some decent lifts in. Plus, there is Mega Morg's own disc that the team weren't adverse to using- ok, it won't cause much damage, but that'll offset anything that Mayhem can cause and make Mega Morg's aggression more telling. Combatwombat555 (talk) 21:25, January 2, 2019 (UTC)
  4. KO. I'm having second thoughts here, actually. Thinking back, Mega Morg's lifter might actually be able to cause some issues for Mayhem, more so than the disc, especially if it can force Mayhem and push it into an arena hazard or, heaven forbid, the House Robots, which might even take it out. Honestly, Mayhem looks so exposed that any attack by a House Robot is likely to cause something, and crucially, the Morg series for the most part have been decent pushers. Mayhem's high ground clearance won't help. CrashBash (talk) 22:12, January 2, 2019 (UTC)

Votes for Pussycat
  1. KO. Easy win for Pussycat here. One needs to have an excellent crusher to even stand a chance against Pussycat, and Razer proved twice that it might not be enough. R.O.C.S. not only has an average crusher (which is not enough to trouble Pussycat), but its unreliability and exposed internals will prove easy pickings for Pussycat's discs. R.O.C.S. to be taken out after a few blows from the feline. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 19:30, January 2, 2019 (UTC)
  2. KO. R.O.C.S.' main problem is that it just has so many exposed parts, Pussycat can easily get its blade in there and cause all sorts of trouble. CrashBash (talk) 19:39, January 2, 2019 (UTC)
  3. KO Pussycat will rip and tear into R.O.C.S. as much as it likes.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 19:44, January 2, 2019 (UTC)
  4. KO. Yeah, R.O.C.S. is in trouble. Pussycat will cut cables, penetrate batteries and so on. R.O.C.S. will struggle to last longer than a minute, I'd imagine. NJGW (talk) 19:51, January 2, 2019 (UTC)
  5. KO. If the modest spinner of Mayhem can incapacitate R.O.C.S. exposed innards, Pussycat will have no problemos. Hogwild94 (talk) 20:12, January 2, 2019 (UTC)
  6. KO. Insert Androne 4000 arterial spurt of Hydraulic fluid here. Jimlaad43(talk) 21:22, January 2, 2019 (UTC)

  9. KO R.O.C.S. has been dealt such a terrible hand in this heat, I genuinely thought it might have done alright with this format. But considering Pussycat's history in battles like this, there's surely only one way this can go. Raz3r(talk) 23:43, January 2, 2019 (UTC)

Votes for Mega Morg
  1. KO. Now I can vote for Mega Morg! Indeed, I think its lifter is perfect for scooping up R.O.C.S., where it will be able to push the crusher around with little resistance. I think eventually Mega Morg will roast R.O.C.S. on the flame pit, whereby R.O.C.S.' exposed internals will surely be burned as a consequence. With R.O.C.S. fried, Mega Morg can pit its opponent for a well-earned three points. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 14:22, January 4, 2019 (UTC)
  2. KO I feel really bad for Mega Morg to be doing so badly, but here I am confident in it flipping R.O.C.S especially as R.O.C.S' self righter wasn't good, like at all! Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 14:27, January 4, 2019 (UTC)
  3. KO - Burning, pitting, or just being flipped, take your pick. I still think R.O.C.S. is a better machine than its 0 point record makes it out to be, but it needs a very specific type of opponent to generate any confidence in voting for it. Combatwombat555 (talk) 14:31, January 4, 2019 (UTC)
  4. KO My concern for R.O.C.S. was that its srimech really wasn't all that reliable. I'm not talking about when Sir Killalot mangled it in its Spawn Again fight, I'm talking about earlier in that same fight when Spawn flipped it and it looked like it couldn't quite overturn itself. If Mega Morg can pull this off, and I feel it can, it could be over. CrashBash (talk) 15:30, January 4, 2019 (UTC)
  5. KO. Yeah, Mega Morg should be able to overturn R.O.C.S., whose already dodgy srimech will likely not be working properly after all that punishment in the last two fights. Hogwild94 (talk) 19:02, January 4, 2019 (UTC)
I should mention now that damage does not carry over to the next battle. So R.O.C.S. would be one hundred percent at the start of this fight. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 19:05, January 4, 2019 (UTC)
  6. Judges' Decision. Mega Morg to use its wide flipper to get at R.O.C.S. surrounding frame. It should be able to lift R.O.C.S. numerous times, and until it either can't self right from a specific angle, or does enough to win the Judges' Decision. NJGW (talk) 19:32, January 4, 2019 (UTC)
  7. JD ROCS has some big ground clearance away from its front wedge, and it was a very slow self-righter, even if it worked pretty well. I think Mega Morg is going to get the breach more often, but it doesn’t have the power to finish ROCS off. Raz3r(talk) 22:29, January 4, 2019 (UTC)
Votes for R.O.C.S.
  1. R.O.C.S. controlled Spawn Again superbly until it was overturned with such force that the srimechs broke. I think it can control Mega Morg in similar fashion, and if it does get flipped, hopefully the srimechs survive this time. TOAST 14:41, January 4, 2019 (UTC)
  2. JD. Mega Morg's armour looks like it's kinda crushable, and the crusher can get well inside the dome. R.O.C.S. will self-right if toppled and can go back on the Welsh robot. Jimlaad43(talk) 14:55, January 4, 2019 (UTC)
Winner: Mega Morg (7-2) KO (5-2)

Pussycat vs Mayhem[]

Mayhem
Votes for Pussycat
  1. KO. Alas, Mayhem's bright campaign comes to an end. I admit that Mayhem does have a chance, if it can hit Pussycat's disc in the right area, causing its opponent's discs to break away (like Fluffy achieved), but I do not see it having the optimal control needed to perform this attack. Eventually, I see Pussycat targeting Mayhem's wheels, ultimately breaking off the black machine's tyres in the process. With no traction, Mayhem's Heat Final will go up in smoke, allowing the veteran to maintain its one hundred percent Heat Final record. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 14:22, January 4, 2019 (UTC)
  2. KO I think it was kinda inevitable that Pussycat would be top dog (well...cat) as it is speedier, more awkward shape, took a LOT to actually remove a wheel or tire (e.g. Tornado and Matilda combined attack, ramming and offensiveness) and Mayhem is just too easy for Pussycat to just nip at and the wheels are a prime target.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 14:30, January 4, 2019 (UTC)
  3. KO - Other big horizontal spinners might take off Pussycat's blade or castor, but I can't see Mayhem doing that. I agree that Pussycat will target the tyres and leave Mayhem immobile. Combatwombat555 (talk) 14:34, January 4, 2019 (UTC)
  4. KO. We voted for DisConstructor over Pussycat in Ragnabot 2, but there's crucial differences here. First, we don't have Series 8 armour on Mayhem, and the wheel are exposed, very exposed. DisConstructor only won that vote because the wheels were tough for Pussycat to reach. Here, they are target number 1 and Mayhem will be punctured and stuck. Jimlaad43(talk) 14:56, January 4, 2019 (UTC)
  5. KO. Those exposed tyres are ripe for the picking. Furthermore, Pussycat now has essentially a double-thickness blade, so I doubt a repeat of what happened to Fluffy will happen here. CrashBash (talk) 15:31, January 4, 2019 (UTC)
  6. KO. A good effort from Mayhem, but the more seasoned competitor will get the better of it on damage and aggression. Hogwild94 (talk) 19:03, January 4, 2019 (UTC)
Votes for Mayhem
  1. KO. A risky prediction, but I'll still go for it. Pussycat's vertical blade is less accustomed to a big hit which will rip Mayhem's tyres from their routes. Whereas Mayhem itself can dislodge one of Pussycat's four wheels with a slice sideways because it's a horizontal. I think it can get a lucky hit on Pussycat while turning, and then take advantage and take the KO once Pussycat loses one of its tyres. NJGW (talk) 19:39, January 4, 2019 (UTC)
  2. JD. I’ll be bold too. Pussycat’s blade may or may not be ripped off like against Fluffy, but it could still get bent from the impact of a heavy horizontal disc enough for it to stop working, as it did against Hypno-Disc. I’m confident Mayhem would come out on top in a Head-to-Head collision, and either machine could damage each other’s wheels, but I can’t actually see Pussycat ripping a tyre off Mayhem completely like Supernova did. Without the blade, Pussycat is defenceless, but its durability should keep it from being KOed totally. Raz3r(talk) 22:29, January 4, 2019 (UTC)
  3. JD. I had been thinking this since the start, I just... wanted someone else to say it first. Fully agree with Raz3r. TOAST 23:39, January 4, 2019 (UTC)
Wasn't going to respond but Mayhem's garnering quite a few votes now- this Pussycat's blade did tank a couple of full-speed impacts from Twister's weapon without breaking, and I'd suggest that's of comparable (or greater) power to Mayhem's disc. Combatwombat555 (talk) 00:03, January 5, 2019 (UTC)
Actually, one of Twister’s hits did temporarily stop Pussycat’s blade. Watch the hit at 14:19 on NJGW’s Series 7 Heat A upload. It does come back to life later, but then it stopped again when Brutus Maximus was being counted out. Raz3r(talk) 00:10, January 5, 2019 (UTC)
I did spot that, and it does stop for a bit, but temporarily stopping and putting out of action are two very different things. To be honest it seems pretty much fine from then onwards- it's stopped from the impact at 14:19 until when Pussycat disappears from shot at 14:31, and then the next time we see Pussycat's blade in profile at 14:42 it looks like it's spinning at full speed, and continues for most of the rest of the fight. It does stop in the last 10 seconds of the battle, but I'd be very wary about attributing that to Twister's spinner damaging it- Twister's own weapon had been dead for about half the battle by that point. It's right at the end of a full 5 minute fight, that could be down to Stuart Barnwell wanting to conserve some battery power as much as anything. Combatwombat555 (talk) 00:35, January 5, 2019 (UTC)

NEATer Machine vs Jabber[]

NEATer Machine Jabber
NEATer Machine
Jabber
Votes for NEATer Machine
  1. JD. Awkward battle here, consisting of two machines that will not be able to do much to the other. Nonetheless, despite NEATer Machine having exposed wheels, providing that it attacks Jabber head-on, its lifter and ploughs should prevent Jabber's disc from damaging them. With a flat top, Jabber will probably fall prey to a few blows from NEATer Machine's axe, which although will cause little damage, should allow the Dutch machine to score highly on aggression. Not much action in my opinion, but by the end NEATer Machine will have scored enough aggression points to outweigh the few damage points Jabber will have gained. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 00:00, January 1, 2019 (UTC)
  2. KO. I think Jabber could do well against some machines, but I doubt NEATer Machine is one - with the Dutch machine's chunky size. Also against it is NEATer Machine's wide plough - negating attacks at multiple angles from Jabber's bar which hardly has any range of it anyway. NEATer Machine's axe packed a punch when it did hit, and I don't think Jabber's internal will prove the most solid to a direct blow from above. NJGW (talk) 00:09, January 1, 2019 (UTC)
  3. JD. It's hard to judge just how effective and resilient Jabber can be when it spent its entire single battle being held in Mantis' clamp, but I'll give it the benefit of the doubt and say it survives. That's as much benefit as I can give it, though. CrashBash (talk) 06:10, January 1, 2019 (UTC)
  4. JD It won't be a knock out but let's be honest what can Jabber do? The wedge thing and the axe will comfortably control this situation.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 10:00, January 1, 2019 (UTC)
  5. JD - Yeah, I can see Jabber struggling to get to the exposed wheels and taking a few axe blows in response. That and controlling the fight with the front plough should give NEATer Machine the win. Combatwombat555 (talk) 12:27, January 1, 2019 (UTC)
  6. JD. I don't trust Jabber to show the control to get round NEATer Machine's sides deliberately. So long as NEATer Machine stays on the offensive, I think it'll win quite comfortably with aggression hits of the axe. Raz3r(talk) 13:52, January 1, 2019 (UTC)
  7. JD. Two meh entrants, the one with the more impressive looking weapon wins out. Hogwild94 (talk) 18:32, January 1, 2019 (UTC)

  1. KO, Ah but you see, NEATer's exposed wheels are a weakness, one that a mini spinner like Jabber could possibly target and exploit. Once one wheel is destroyed, the other will be gone soon after. Jimlaad43(talk) 00:52, January 1, 2019 (UTC)
  2. JD. I don't feel good doing this, but if Lizzard's thwackbot tail could cause damage to Neater, Jabber's blade should manage just fine. It should eventually take out one side of drive, and it won't be enough for an official KO, but the Judges will catch on. TOAST 14:38, January 1, 2019 (UTC)

Ewe 2 vs Herbinator[]

Ewe 2 Herbinator
Ewe 2
Herbinator
Votes for Ewe 2
  1. Judges' Decision. I think this will, quite honestly, be a woeful fight. Both machines are chunky, but their flippers have no forward thrust to them. I can see a whole bunch of minor lifts happening where neither machine fails to fully turn the other over. Ewe 2 will end up with the win because of Herbinator's seemingly reckless driving, however. May I just add that Herbinator, in its one and only fight, lost via side stranding too? NJGW (talk) 00:11, January 1, 2019 (UTC)
  2. KO. Herbinator's weak flipper could count for it with a side-strand on Ewe 2, but BECAUSE its flipper seemed so weak in its fight, I'm also suspicious of Herbinator's own self-righting capabilities should it end up being flipped over. So why have I picked EWE 2 to get the killer flip? Mainly because it looked less sluggish and more composed in its fights than Herbinator. Raz3r(talk) 13:52, January 1, 2019 (UTC)
  3. KO. I agree with the cool kids above me, Herbinator probably won't carry out a KO flip in the meantime (note that in order for Ewe 2 to be side stranded, it needs to have raised its own weapon to catch its landing) and if Ewe 2 doesn't secure its own KO with a flip - very possible given that Herbinator was stranded by a single flip onto its side from Lightning - I'm sure the House Robots will put a stop to the hopes and dreams of Herbinator. Votes for Herbinator
  1. KO. Perhaps my first controversial vote in this tournament. Indeed, I have never really rated Ewe 2's flipper, to be honest, and while Herbinator's is not world-class, it has the size and potency needed to flip its opponent more often than vice-versa. And considering that Ewe 2's curved spikes failed to prevent the machine from being stranded, one good flip from Herbinator should be enough for a knockout. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 00:00, January 1, 2019 (UTC)
  2. KO. Ewe 2 just seems so beachable. Jimlaad43(talk) 00:52, January 1, 2019 (UTC)
  3. KO. It's not just the fact Ewe 2 is beachable, it's also the fact its flipper wasn't all that reliable. Also Herbinator looks slightly lower overall. CrashBash (talk) 06:11, January 1, 2019 (UTC)
  4. KO Not the best of fights but as mentioned by pretty much everyone, the robot is breachable and can be easily flipped with Herby being quite lower. Not much to say to be honest. Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 10:02, January 1, 2019 (UTC)
  5. KO - Nothing really to add, to be honest. Combatwombat555 (talk) 12:31, January 1, 2019 (UTC)
  6. KO. Herbinator is a bit mig for Ewe 2's diddy flipper to work properly with. Its own flipper, in contrast, will have no issue dispatching Ewe 2 into a beached position. Hogwild94 (talk) 18:34, January 1, 2019 (UTC)

The heat's three newcomers have already scored points, which is quite interesting. Herbinator gets off to a flying start, NEATer Machine scores despite not "tidying" up Jabber in five minutes, while Ewe 2 needs to justify why it replaced Lambsy for Series 7. Votes for Ewe 2
  1. JD Admitting I probably should have voted for Ewe 2 last round but hey ho. Jabber's weapon was more like the Nasty Warrior weapons, a little thing that flapped. Ewe 2's flipper won't (or at least I don't think) will snap just like that as if it was made from a bunch of thin twigs. Ewe 2 should be able to ram and flip Jabber to victory.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 19:53, January 2, 2019 (UTC)
  2. JD - I can't really see Jabber causing much if any damage to Ewe 2's pretty tough armour, and Jabber does have a pretty hefty ground clearance that Ewe 2 could exploit. Even if it doesn't get many flips in, Ewe 2 did prove a pretty competent pusher in taking Tetanus Booster all the way, and should outpush the relatively passive Jabber. Combatwombat555 (talk) 21:35, January 2, 2019 (UTC)
  3. JD. I honestly feel Ewe 2 was robbed in the last round, so to see them losing to Jabber now is horrifying. Ewe 2 will take the Tetanus Booster approach, forget the flipper, the sheep will ram Jabber into the wall, bending its tiny spinner and stopping the revolutions. That’s more damage than Jabber will cause. TOAST 22:42, January 2, 2019 (UTC)
  4. Ewe 2 still pushed Sawpoint around a lot in the melee, and Jabber at least has easier ground clearance to manipulate for a flip. I think it will win this one quite calmly. NJGW (talk) 22:51, January 2, 2019 (UTC)
  5. JD Jabber's blade stopped whenever it came into contact with anything, be it Mantis, Sergeant Bash or Infernal Contraption. Not only that, but its weaponry actually died before the time ran out as well. I trust Ewe 2 to put the pressure on and get some rams in. Ewe 2 can take advantage of Jabber's ground clearance if it wants to, and I don't trust the feeble weaponry to repeat what Sawpoint 2 achieved. Raz3r(talk) 23:43, January 2, 2019 (UTC)
Votes for Jabber
  1. JD. During Ewe 2's melee, Saw Point 2's discs were able to sever its opponent's flipper. Seeing as I do not rate Saw Point 2's discs, I think Jabber's has the damage potential needed to disable Ewe 2's flipper. Although Ewe 2, similar to its battle against Tetanus Booster, will be able to push and shove its invertible opponent around, Jabber I feel has the range needed to occasionally attack Ewe 2's sides, causing minor damage to its opponent. Even though Ewe 2 will be aggressive enough to make this a close decision, Jabber will have inflicted enough damage needed to sway the Judges to its side. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 19:30, January 2, 2019 (UTC)
  2. JD. I was admittedly thinking along the lines of Saw Point whilst going through Ewe 2's article earlier today. This is a worry for Ewe 2 because without its flipper, it'll have to resort to pushing, which it wasn't exactly the absolute best at. If Jabber can keep being aggressive....CrashBash (talk) 19:41, January 2, 2019 (UTC)
  3. JD. Can't see Ewe 2 flipping Jabber, so a judges win on minor damage. Hogwild94 (talk) 20:13, January 2, 2019 (UTC)
  4. JD. Jabber's invertability and Ewe's history against spinners mean I can see the flipper being broken off. Jabber to keep the damage up and win a Judges decision on damage. Jimlaad43(talk) 21:23, January 2, 2019 (UTC)
Winner: Ewe 2 (5-4) JD (5-0)

NEATer Machine vs Herbinator[]

Votes for NEATer Machine
  1. JD. This battle reminds me of a typical "Dominator 2 vs flipper" battle. Yes, Herbinator will achieve some flips on its opponent, but they will be few and far between because of NEATer Machine's awkward design. Also, the Dutch machine will self-right each time, and plunge its axe into Herbinator's top several times, causing notable damage. Eventually, as Herbinator suffers more damage, I struggle to see it asserting itself when compared to the start of the battle. This should allow NEATer Machine to win a Judges' decision on all accounts, in my opinion. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 19:30, January 2, 2019 (UTC)
  2. JD. As a general rule in the classic series, flipper vs axe fights typically went as thus - if the flipper could not keep on top of the axe all the way through, then the axe would eventually come out on top. NEATer Machine is also above Herbinator's league so that probably doesn't help the flipper. I'm not even sure Herbinator will manage to overturn NEATer Machine for that matter. CrashBash (talk) 19:43, January 2, 2019 (UTC)
  3. KO Herbie didn't suffer too much before it was killed and honestly I can see the pressure and damage that Neater can cause to Herbie to be enough for a KO.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 19:48, January 2, 2019 (UTC)
  4. Judges' Decision. NEATer Machine is a horrible type of machine to flip unless the robot with the flipper is optimised. It has a sticking out plough, big tyres, a pointy thing at the front - there's no clear way for a machine like Herbinator to find a consistently vulnerable area. Herbinator itself won't be KO'd, I don't think. Its armour seems to have a massive air gap - so NEATer Machine's multiple axe blows shouldn't do any major internal damage. But still: this is NEATer Machine's fight - in what will prove to be a very convincing Judges' Decision. NJGW (talk) 19:57, January 2, 2019 (UTC)
  5. JD. Herbinator not the right sort of flipper for flipping NEATer Machine, so a narrow win on minor aggression. Hogwild94 (talk) 20:15, January 2, 2019 (UTC)
  6. Judges Decision. Neater after a dull battle will be awarded more points by the judges. Jimlaad43(talk) 21:25, January 2, 2019 (UTC)
  7. JD - Yeah, I'll agree with that. Herbinator won't be immobilised- it survived getting a massive hole cleaved in the top from Shunt, it'll survive NEATer Machine- but I can't really see it getting many flips in. This is looking like a very interesting final round of matches in this group if the results stay as they are... Combatwombat555 (talk) 21:40, January 2, 2019 (UTC)
  8. JD I'd be surprised if Herbinator would manage any effective flips on NEATer Machine. I think NEATer Machine could get a lot of hits in here, and while Herbinator will likely survive, the damage and aggression from NEATer Machine will vastly outweigh its contributions. Raz3r(talk) 23:43, January 2, 2019 (UTC)
Votes for Herbinator
  1. KO. So Herbinator can one-flip KO Ewe 2, but not NEATer Machine? What’s the difference? NEATer can’t self-right either, and now this heat which should’ve been a Ewe 2 romp has devolved into a complete hodgepodge, I swear someone might win this group with only one victory under their belt. TOAST 22:47, January 2, 2019 (UTC)
Do we know that NEATer Machine can't self-right? The original couldn't, sure, but this one had the horizontal bar on the axe that was supposed to act as the srimech. Combatwombat555 (talk) 22:51, January 2, 2019 (UTC)
Do you not remember Jonathan's hilariously bad introduction for NEATer Machine? He clearly said it had a srimech. "Clearly" maybe not the right word, but you get what I mean. Also, the difference is that Ewe 2 is small and compact, and we saw it get knocked onto its side easily, whilst NEATer Machine is just so awkward it's unlikely. Jabber can no longer reach the Heat Final, but it can still gain a play-off spot for the Rumble if it beats Herbinator and the other result goes in its favour. The remaining three have a lot to gain, but a lot to lose, with Ewe 2 having an outside chance of qualifying for the Heat Final. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 14:22, January 4, 2019 (UTC)

  1. JD. To be honest, this is going to be a boring battle. Jabber will cause little damage, and its high ground clearance will enable Herbinator to flip it countless times across the Arena. However, Jabber is one of those robots that simply will not die, and thus will survive for its third Judges' decision loss. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 14:22, January 4, 2019 (UTC)
  2. JD Well it's like voting to ether be crushed slowly to death or flailed to death, it's not something you wanna vote for ether way. But I agree with SpaceManiac as Jabber's weapon was pathetic and will not do anything and Herbie can at least flip. It'll be a slow pushing match from beginning to end.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 14:32, January 4, 2019 (UTC)
  3. JD - Herbinator should be able to find and exploit Jabber's ground clearance, and get a couple of flips to make the decision obvious. Combatwombat555 (talk) 14:36, January 4, 2019 (UTC)
  4. KO. Jabber will be flipped about before being pushed into the pit. Jimlaad43(talk) 14:53, January 4, 2019 (UTC)
  5. JD An eh flipper against an eh invertible spinner, it's not going to achieve much. CrashBash (talk) 15:32, January 4, 2019 (UTC)
  6. JD. CrashBash has summed up my thoughts here. Hogwild94 (talk) 19:05, January 4, 2019 (UTC)
  7. Judges' Decision. Herbinator's aggressive style shouldn't hinder it against a limited spinner. NJGW (talk) 20:44, January 4, 2019 (UTC)
  8. JD Herbinator should expose the ground clearance, and while I suspect it’ll lose a lot of power in the flipper over time, it’s also the far superior shape for pushing. Raz3r(talk) 22:41, January 4, 2019 (UTC)

  1. JD. I think the steep wedge of Herbinator won’t help it here, and Jabber will scrape a decision on minor damage caused. TOAST 23:40, January 4, 2019 (UTC)

Votes for NEATer Machine
  1. JD. As others have mentioned, NEATer Machine can self-right and so it will have little trouble against Ewe 2's flipper. Sure, the sequel to Lambsy might achieve more flips than Herbinator, but NEATer Machine will self-right each time. The top of Ewe 2 looks easy pickings for the Dutch machine's axe, with these attacks being enough to sway the Judges over to NEATer Machine's side once the battle ends. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 14:22, January 4, 2019 (UTC)
  2. JD More or less the same reasons as before, the axe can do the trick and can win on damage.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 14:33, January 4, 2019 (UTC)
  3. JD. Ewe's shape will make it hard for it to flip NEATer up and over. Neater win by the judges. Jimlaad43(talk) 14:52, January 4, 2019 (UTC)
  4. JD. Ewe 2 looks like it would be extremely vulnerable to axes, really. CrashBash (talk) 15:33, January 4, 2019 (UTC)
  5. JD - Yeah, I'll agree with that, NEATer Machine can go to town with the axe and Ewe 2's flipper didn't look the most effective. No knockout, Ewe 2 was pretty resilient, but a fairly straightforward decision. Combatwombat555 (talk) 16:14, January 4, 2019 (UTC)
  6. JD. Ewe 2 isn't flipping NEATer Machine, so a win on minor aggression and damage. Hogwild94 (talk) 19:07, January 4, 2019 (UTC)
Votes for Ewe 2
  1. KO. Now this is a machine that can flip NEATer Machine! Ewe 2's protruding flipper lip to slot under NEATer Machine nicer than Herbinator did, and to give Team Lambsy a good victory. NJGW (talk) 20:45, January 4, 2019 (UTC)
  2. KO Ewe 2 absolutely can flip NEATer Machine if it gets past the weird front lifter and attacks from the side areas in front of the tyres, which look far better defensively against spinners than flippers. Ewe 2 has tougher armour than Herbinator, and will definitely go the distance. I can’t see the axe damaging Ewe 2 at all to be honest, that steel frame will hold up well. Yes, we’ve been told NEATer Machine can self-right, but there’s only so many impacts that I think NEATer Machine can take, as its record suggests. Raz3r(talk) 22:41, January 4, 2019 (UTC)
  3. KO. Believe me, I do like NEATer Machine, but I’m going against it once again. EWE2 is vulnerable to axes, but it has to be hit before that can happen. With EWE2 bulldozing NEATer around, I don’t think there will be enough hits to win a JD, if it even gets that far, which I somewhat doubt. TOAST 23:42, January 4, 2019 (UTC)

This has been a very close group, considering only one battle ended with a knockout! NEATer Machine advances to the heat final despite not achieving any knockouts, by being undefeated, leaving Herbinator to contend with the Rumble playoff in spite of finishing level on points with the Dutch machine. Ewe 2 and Jabber both finish on three points, but it is Jabber that is bottom of the group following its loss to the sequel to Lambsy. Still, one should credit it for at least forcing all three of its battles to a Judges' decision. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 13:25, January 6, 2019 (UTC)

  1. Two robots we really needed to see more of. Well, because Mayhem has a high ground clearance, Herbinator should achieve a couple of flips during this battle. However, I am fairly certain that Mayhem's disc is capable of causing notable damage to Herbinator's sides, which the Judges will take note on. Providing that Mayhem survives the flips it will suffer, it should win a close Judges' decision on damage, as I cannot see Herbinator achieving superior points due to its lack of pushing power and overall control. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 13:25, January 6, 2019 (UTC)
  2. Mayhem should be quicker and even if it does KO Herbie, it can and will win on damage.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 13:37, January 6, 2019 (UTC)
  3. If Herbinator could push Mayhem into the CPZs, I'm sure any of the House Robots could give the spinner some issues. The problem is I just don't see that happening. CrashBash (talk) 14:03, January 6, 2019 (UTC)
  4. Unclear potential with both of these. But what is clear is that Herbinator was one of the only machines to be damaged by Shunt's axe in Series 7. That does not give me hope of it fending off a spinner of at least decent-looking power. NJGW (talk) 17:35, January 6, 2019 (UTC)
  5. Herbinator might get the odd flip in, but its armour really didn't look the best, and Mayhem should capitalise. Combatwombat555 (talk) 18:35, January 6, 2019 (UTC)
  6. A win for Mayhem on minor damage, outweighing any minor flips. Hogwild94 (talk) 19:26, January 6, 2019 (UTC)

  1. Credit to NEATer Machine for getting this far, but its run ends here in my opinion. Pussycat, as proven against Dominator 2 and Kat 3, is very adept at battling axe robots with awkward designs. NEATer Machine might achieve a hit or two, but the feline I feel will eventually target the Dutch machine's wheels, causing notable damage to them. Who knows, similar to its battle against Kat 3, perhaps Pussycat will also damage NEATer Machine's axe head too? Regardless, considering how NEATer Machine broke down after a hit from Revenge of Trouble & Strife, I struggle to see it surviving for long against Pussycat's discs. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 13:25, January 6, 2019 (UTC)
  2. It was kinda a given that Pussycat would win this heat and there's literally no way poor NEATER can fight back against a destructive and slippery robot. Good effort but not enough.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 13:36, January 6, 2019 (UTC)
  3. Honestly, Pussycat would have beaten EVERY robot in the second group. CrashBash (talk) 14:04, January 6, 2019 (UTC)
