Fury was a heavyweight robot built by father and son duo Dave and Matt Firth, which failed to qualify for Series 5 of Robot Wars.
Design[]
Fury was a two-wheel drive robot armed with a vertical spinner. Despite only weighing 3kg, the team claim it could reach speeds of 246mph[1], later reduced to 177mph due to the need for a different weapon motor. This, however, is unconfirmed.
The robot was well-protected, armoured in a composition of materials which measured 42mm, though the team did not elaborate on specific materials.[2] Fury's chassis was made from tube steel and angle iron to provide additional support for the robot. Its two wheels were foam filled to prevent punctures in battle.
Though no images of Fury exist, the team performed extensive testing on their weaponry. It was claimed Fury could send parts of a tumble dryer 20ft in the air, as well as destroy a television and greenhouse.
