"Since we didn't enter Series 4 (we were going to use the same robot as series 3), we decided it was time for another change. This time we kept most of the chassis (but re-shaped it into a wedge), got rid of the skirt at the rear of the robot, created new electronics, and went from electric-powered weaponry to pneumatic."

Haardervark was a robot that failed to qualify for Series 5 and 6 of Robot Wars. The circumstances of its qualification attempts remain unknown.

Team Haardvark had previously competed in Series 2 and 3 with Haardvark, which reached the Semi-Finals in the former.

Design

Haardervark was a tall wedged box-shaped robot built using Haardvark's chassis, and equipped with interchangeable weaponry. These weapons included a pneumatic flipping arm capable of lifting 207kg, hardened steel lifting forks and an electric-driven diamond-edged circular saw (the same type as that used by Dead Metal) mounted on a pneumatic arm, which now acted as a self-righting mechanism. The robot also featured uprated motors - from 24v to 36v - a crumple zone to resist attacks from crushing weapons, two self-righting rams on either side, and artwork similar to that of the Series 3 iteration of Haardvark.
