Hell-Raizer was a heavyweight competitor robot which was intended to enter Series 5 of Robot Wars. Although the design was complete and parts purchased for its construction, it is unknown whether the robot was completed in time. In any case, Hell-Raizer did not appear in Series 5 or any other series beyond that.
Design[]
The design for Hell-Raizer was based on its ramming power as well as a set of pincers and an axe. The axe was to be powered by a starter motor with inspiration from Mortis. The pincers were to be also powered by motors and were designed to hold the opposition in place while using the axe or driving them into the CPZs.[1] Thus, the design is very reminiscent to that of Splinter. It was planned to be armoured in 12mm and 3mm polycarbonate around steel tubing.[2]
Paul Hart, captain of Raizer Blade, sold his old robot to team captain Luke Webb after its retirement in Series 4, suggesting that Hell-Raizer was likely named in connection to the former UK competitor.[3]
