Hit Man was a heavyweight robot from Bournemouth, built in 1998 which attempted to enter Robot Wars, but never qualified for the televised competition.
Design[]
Hit Man was shaped similarly to a thwackbot, armed with an electric lifter at the front, and a stone-cutting blade on its tail. The robot was driven by two large wheels, which made the robot invertible. Hitman had two spikes on the back of the robot, to provide additional weaponry.
Hit Man was powered by 3x Bosch 750 Watt motors, one powering the circular saw, while the others powered the drive. Originally Hit Man was painted blue, but was soon repainted black.
Qualification[]
It was first believed that Hit Man attempted to enter Series 3, as new owner Gabriel Stroud claimed that Hit Man would not have passed a safety inspection in Series 4[1].
However, it is known that Spikasaurus fought and defeated Hit Man at the Series 4 qualifiers[2] by penetrating its wheel guards, suggesting that Hit Man did indeed attempt to enter Series 4.

- "The chap who built it kept it in a bedroom in a guest house and couldn't remember very much about it, he was quite old. As to what might happen to it next, I guess is in the laps of the Gods."

Hit Man was sold to Team Underdog, who rebranded the robot as Ill-Tempered Mutt, and attempted to enter Series 9 of Robot Wars with it.
