Joanie Laurer

Joan Laurer (professionally known as Chyna) was a former American professional wrestler, actress and presenter who hosted Robot Wars: Grand Champions. Outside of Robot Wars, she was best known as Chyna, performing in the World Wrestling Federation between 1997 and 2001.

She debuted in WWF in 1997, leaving in 2001. She was also due to appear in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, but withdrew due to contracting pneumonia, although she did sign for the brand in 2011.

Aside from her wrestling career, Laurer appeared in reality shows The Surreal Life, Cristina's Court, as well as the film Illegal Aliens.

Sadly, Laurer passed away on the 20th of April, 2016.

Robot Wars

Laurer's role in Robot Wars came in Robot Wars: Grand Champions, the US broadcast of Robot Wars: The Fourth Wars. Laurer would tie sections of the program together in place of British presenter Craig Charles.
