- "The fights were arranged in "One to One" format and the first contest was with "Kiss of Death", which T-Bone easily ripped to shreds and so was through to the final[1]"
- — Team Roaming Robots
Kiss of Death was a competitor robot which attempted to enter Series 5 of Robot Wars, but failed to qualify.
Design[]
Kiss of Death was a flat, yellow robot with exposed wheels[2]. Other than this, little is known about Kiss of Death's design.
Etymology[]
The term Kiss of Death refers to the mafia, in which it was a sign of execution where members of the mafia would kiss others to mark them for death, which in turn refers to the "Kiss of Judas" in which Judas had kissed Jesus marking him for crucifixion.
Qualification[]
Kiss of Death fought at the Manchester leg of the 2001 Live Event tour, where it was initially drawn to fight T-Bone in the one-on-one qualifying rounds. Very limited information is available on this battle, other than that Kiss of Death was 'easily ripped to shreds' by Team Butcher's machine. While T-Bone would go on to win the subsequent 'final' against Bangalore Bertie and qualify for The Fifth Wars, Kiss of Death would fail to qualify following this highly destructive loss.[3]
