Meshuggah was a two-time Dutch Series competitor. It was similar in design and build to UK robot Infernal Contraption and the Series 6 incarnation of four time semi finalist Wild Thing, with a vertical spinning disc. The disc was unreliable and prone to failure, but capable of great destruction when it did work. Although it lost in the heats in both its appearances, Meshuggah received a wildcard into the Grand Final of Series 2, where it was defeated in a terrible run of bad luck against Scrap-2-Saur; despite shredding its opponent and dominating the battle, it fell in the descending pit.

The team was good friends with the Twisted Metal team. Two of Twisted Metal's team members humorously acted as Meshuggah's "bodyguards" in the Grand Final, and blocked the camera in the control booth after Meshuggah's humiliating loss.

Meshuggah was named after a popular Swedish avant-garde metal band. It is also a word from the Yiddish language that roughly translates to "crazy" or "ridiculous".

Robot History

Series 1

Meshuggah's disc was not working, so the team kept the locking pin in place to prevent damage. Weaponless, it tried to push X-Bot around, but broke down and was counted out by Refbot. It was placed on the floor flipper, and thrown, before Dead Metal grabbed it and pushed it into the pit, driving in itself.

After the match, Meshuggah had technical problems, and was forced to withdraw from the losers' melee.

Series 2

Meshuggah returned for Series 2 with virtually the same design as before but with new wheel guards. It had a much more impressive start this time around, using its flywheel to flip Lethal Swan over, tearing off one of its wings in the process. Lethal Swan could not self-right from the upisde-down position, so Meshuggah advanced to the second round. There it met Lizzard, the unofficial #1 seed. Meshuggah came in with its flywheel spinning, and managed to tear Lizzard's tail. However, the impact caused its flywheel to stop spinning, leaving it defenseless. It spent the rest of the match being pushed around by Lizzard and whacked by its tail, until the time ran out. The judges ruled that Meshuggah was out.

Meshuggah was reinstated in the Grand Final after being given a wildcard. In its first Grand Final battle against Scrap-2-Saur, Meshuggah used its flywheel to shred away at Scrap-2-Saur while flipping it over. Scrap-2-Saur self-righted, and managed to flip Meshuggah, but Mesguggah was not affected. Meshuggah continued to tear away at Scrap-2-Saur, catching it each time Scrap-2-Saur tried to flip it. It continued its onslaught, and Scrap-2-Saur's polycarb panels started to come loose. Suddenly, Scrap-2-Saur went for the pit release and hit it just as Meshuggah was driving over the pit square. The pit descended, and Meshuggah couldn't escape in time. It descended into the abyss, and out of the competition.

• Like Rammstein, Meshuggah also shares its name with a metal band. In Meshuggah's case, it is Meshuggah, a Swedish Extreme Metal band.
