Militant was an antweight robot made by Peter Waller which competed in the Antweight Championship of the second series of Robot Wars Extreme. It was eliminated from its heat in that championship after having its wheels damaged by Pants and becoming immobilised on one side.
Peter Waller also competed in the Extreme 2 Antweight Championship with then-reigning antweight champion Combatant.
Design[]
Militant was an invertible, two-wheel drive robot with a horizontal spinning disc as its main weapon. The disc was mounted below the chassis so that it could reach the arena floor, and was fitted with a bladed metal bar on top to damage opponents. Much of Militant's electronics, including the batteries and weapon motor, were exposed, while the wheels featured the same sticky rubber tyres as Combatant, and smiley faces on their covers similar to that found on the latter's wedge.

Militant competed exclusively in the Antweight Championship, shown as part of the Robot Rampage episode. In its heat, it faced Buzzant, Lower, Minimalistic, Pants and Serpant.

Militant slowly drove towards the centre of the arena before being axed and dragged around the arena by Pants. Pants steered Militant into the wall and CPZ, axing its batteries before Militant was left near the wall. Seemingly immobile on one side, Militant was then attacked by Buzzant, before Pants came in to axe and push it into another CPZ. Militant was dragged upside down by Pants' axe, with both robots becoming stuck together before Pants freed itself and left Militant immobilised on one side in the corner. This resulted in Militant being eliminated from the Antweight Championship, while Pants and Lower qualified for the final on a Judges' decision.

Like Combatant, Militant enjoyed successful runs in the Antweight World Series, finishing second in AWS 8, winning AWS 12 and finishing third in AWS 14[1]. After competing on the live circuit with a spinner for many years, Militant evolved into a design using a broad wedge-shaped flipper.

Peter Waller still competes at live events in the antweight, fleaweight and nanoweight categories, with considerable success. As well as a later version of Militant with an elastic-powered flipper, his most recent robots include:
- Anticyclone, an undercutter spinner;
- Flippant, a wedge-shaped flipper/grabber;
- Variant, an invertible robot with interchangeable weapon modules;
- Dominant, an invertible tracked robot with two static scoops at either end;
- Deflea, a fleaweight version of Dominant;
- Defiant, another tracked robot, this time with a lifting scoop;
- Mutant, the name given to two separate antweights; a two-wheeled ring spinner, and a walkerbot with a vertical bar spinner.
