More Panda Monium was a box-shaped robot that failed to qualify for Series 3 and 4 of Robot Wars. It initially failed to qualify for Series 3 after it was dropped and activated without warning, its spike weapon injuring a crewmember (this incident was one of the reasons that Rex Garrod retired from Robot Wars; see Garrod's Protest). The incident involving More Panda Monium also resulted in several side competitions and special events for the Third Wars being cancelled.
More Panda Monium was the second of a series of robots made by Team Panda and was the successor for the similarly named Panda Monium. It was replaced the following series by a completely new machine, Big Pants, which also failed to qualify for the Fourth Wars due to the judges having doubts about the robot's reliability. After Big Pants' failure, Team Panda decided to then attempt to qualify with More Panda Monium, as qualifying was still taking place. However, More Panda Monium failed to qualify as well, after they lost their qualifier battle to V.I.P.E.R. 01, who also failed to qualify for this series. More Panda Monium was finally retired after this.
Team Panda later competed in Robot Wars with Big Pants (under the name Hot Pants), Thunderpants, and the antweight Pants.
Design
More Panda Monium was a box-shaped robot with transparent armour and armed with two weapons: a lifting scoop that could lift over 100kg, and a pneumatic spike attached above the scoop which could pierce through other robots' armour and be pointed at an adjustable angle. The robot cost almost £1200 to build.
