Onslaught was a British heavyweight robot that competed from the second series of Robot Wars until the fifth series, reaching the heat final of Series 2 in its best performance. Onslaught was armed with a large bucket scoop that it used for tipping opponents over. Onslaught appears as a competitor robot in the Game Boy Advance game Robot Wars: Advanced Destruction, its first and only appearance in video games.
Appearance and ArmamentEdit
Onslaught is recognisable as its real life counterpart in the game, due to its unique shape, silver colour scheme, and the large motor mounted on the back.
Onslaught's weapon is a pneumatic-driven Lifting Scoop which is a very good weapon both for flipping and for pushing. It is surprisingly fast as well, making Onslaught rather interestingly one of the best robots on the game.
Onslaught is an unlockable robot within the game, and is unlocked by beating it in Championship mode.
Onslaught is a great pusher and a great flipper, so you have a choice of tactics. It is generally better to use Onslaught as a flipper, but be careful, as some robots are easier to get underneath that others.
Onslaught is one of the more difficult robots to beat, as it does have a good pushing power combined with a good weapon. The best opportunities you will get are if Onslaught exposes its sides to you, at which point flipping and attacking with discs is a good tactic.
Differences between the Game and Real LifeEdit
- Onslaught has a zero turning circle in the game, whilst the real robot utilises Car-style Steering.
- Onslaught is missing the skull and crossbones logo on its front scoop.
- The indentation of its self-righting mechanism is visible on top of Onslaught, but it turns itself over sideways when used, rather than over the front.
