- "The Plague is menacing, swift and deadly - time for a vaccination, I think."
- — Jonathan Pearce's in-game commentary
Plague is a middleweight competitor robot in the games Robot Wars: Arenas of Destruction and Robot Wars: Extreme Destruction. However, unlike many fictional robots which appear in both games, there are few similarities between the two.
Arenas of DestructionEdit
In Arenas of Destruction Plague is a wedge shaped robot with an axe and a cutting disc, armoured in titanium. It cannot self-right.
Plague has some very potent weaponry in the carbon disc, which can cause lots of damage quickly. Flippers should be avoided due to the high ground clearance and lack of srimech. The axe, whilst fairly powerful, takes a relatively long time to reset, so it should only really be used as an auxiliary weapon.
While Plague's axe might prove to be damaging, it takes 3 seconds to reset after it does a strike, so when it is resetting, you can ram it to tip it over, as Plague can't self-right. Of all sides to meet it at, it's best to meet it at the sides.
In Extreme Destruction Plague has a cuboid shape and pincers instead of the cutting disc. It still cannot self-right.
Plague can prove to be deadly, as it can clamp with the spiked pincers while you can attack it with the axe. However, the sides and back are vulnerable to attack, so strive to keep the front of Plague facing other robots.
The best strategy is to attempt to go for the sides and back to deal damage to Plague, as it is very dangerous to go for the front, seeing as the axe and pincers can prove to be very deadly to others.
