Project Spuff was a heavyweight robot designed with the intention of competing in a proposed eighth series of Robot Wars on Five, during its classic run.
With the show being cancelled after The Seventh Wars, Team Spuff and their entry never did appear on Robot Wars.
Design[]
Although there are no images available, the robot paid homage to the team's mascot in its design. An archived links page from the official Robot Wars website describes Project Spuff as a "heavyweight spinner", but does not elaborate on this weaponry.[1] Though several different designs were drawn up, funding soon became a limiting factor, so the team opted to look for sponsors.
- "Anyway... We now have an extensive parts list and a couple of possible sponsors on the horizon. So we now know what we need to get and a rough idea of how to shove em together. (Which is a good thing!!) As mentioned before though we still need money."

Despite planning for their entry, the team provided no further updates regarding Project Spuff. Though it is unknown whether the robot was ever finished, with the show's cancellation confirmed several months after the team's most recent update, interest likely faded in the project.[2]
Etymology[]
Spuff was the name of the team's mascot; a small, brown toy monkey which became the focal point of the robot's design.
