Pussycat AoD

Pussycat in Robot Wars: Arenas of Destruction

Pussycat was a competitor robot from Robot Wars that featured in Robot Wars: Arenas of Destruction. Pussycat itself reached the Fourth Wars Grand Final, ending its campaign as runner up, and made the semi finals the very next series, the team also entered Bodyhammer in the First and Second Wars. Pussycat features in all five video games, a feat shared with Chaos 2.

Appearence and Armament

As in real life, Pussycat is a blue, unusual pyramid shape, with four wheels and a cutting disc at the top. Due to more potential for the graphics provided by the switch to the PC console, Pussycat looks better in Robot Wars: Arenas of Destruction than in earlier games such as Robot Wars: Metal Mayhem.

Strategies

Using Pussycat

Pussycat can cause some damage with the disc, and so is a good robot to choose. Another factor is that it can run every way up, however when on its side, Pussycat can't move, but it won't count as an immobilisation. Due to the limitations of the game's physics engine though, if you happen to be upside down for longer than 30 seconds you will be classed as immobile, even though you are perfectly moving. As well as that, Pussycat can become a bit uncontrollable while at speed and attacking other robots.

Against Pussycat

For a very boring victory, just tip Pussycat on its side, then slowly and carefully push it into pits or traps. Obviously, it is better to avoid the disc, as it is capable of causing real damage.

Differences from Real Life

  • Pussycat is longer on the game, and not quite as well proportioned.
  • If flipped on its side, Pussycat will not spin back to normal, but it will stay there. This wouldn't count as an immobilisation however.
