Rat was a large competitor in the first series of Dutch Robot Wars. It was shaped like a rat, and was decorated with metal whiskers. Its bodyshell acted as a pneumatically powered flipper. Though the flipper was powerful, it left Rat's innards exposed to attack. The team mascot was a toy rat, similar to that of Hard Cheese.
Robot History
Dutch Series 1
Rat's first battle was against Bamm Bamm. It raised its flipper and used its shell to engulf Bamm Bamm. It pushed Bamm Bamm over the flame pit, and set its club on fire. Pieces of the burning club dripped into Rat and the fire spread to its insides. Refbot separated the two, and time ran out. The judges ruled in favour of Bamm Bamm. In the losers' melee, Rat worked with Lizzard to pincer Lethal Swan, and use its flipper to flip the swan onto its side. Unfortunately, this display of power was for naught, since Rat broke down and was counted out by Refbot. Sir Killalot used its drill to pick up Rat from the rear, and burned it over the flame pit. He tried to drop Rat onto the floor flipper, but Rat was stuck on his lance.
