The 1995 US Robot Wars Championship, also known simply as Robot Wars 1995, Robot Wars '95 or the Second Annual Robot Wars, was the second running of the original US-based Robot Wars live competitions organized by Marc Thorpe. It took place on August 19-20 1995 at the Fort Mason Center, Herbst Pavillion in San Francisco.
As in the previous year, the 1995 competition featured Face-Off knockout tournaments for competitors in the heavyweight, middleweight and lightweight categories, plus the newly-introduced super lightweight category. The latter was effectively a direct predecessor to the featherweight class seen in subsequent events. Melee competitions would take place across all four weight classes, in conjunction with the aforementioned Face-Off tournaments.

Heavyweight Face-Off[]
Round 1[]
Cyberknight vs Spirit of Frank[]
During the first clash, Cyberknight lost power to its saw blade weapon which resulted in the robot being unable to use a weapon for the remainder of the battle. Cyberknight, however, was unfazed and used its pushing power to shunt Spirit of Frank across the arena and against a side wall before shunting Spirit of Frank into the arena corner and pinning Spirit of Frank, gaining a victory as a result[18].
Winner: Cyberknight
Thor vs Merrimac[]
Thor started the match with its axe down and not moving, allowing Merrimac to slam into Thor, pushing it back against the arena wall, flipping it as it pinned Thor against the back wall. This attack gave Thor the chance to spring back to life, hammering its axe effortlessly before darting away from Merrimac before circling back around and furiously swinging down on the top of Merrimac rapidly. Thor backed away again and came back to assault Merrimac further, as smoke filled the arena due to the petrol-powered robots, Thor's swinging attacks, however, became slower and less effective, resulting in a pushing match between the competitors, with Merrimac on the back foot, being pushed back by Thor. Thor continued to rain hammer blows on Merrimac who seemed unable to move away from the attacks, using its flippers for defence, flicking the air. Thor then rammed Merrimac by reversing into it, driving over the wedges and pushing it further into an arena mousetrap. By this point, Merrimac seemed immobile and unable to move anywhere, Thor took advantage and continued smashing down with the hammer as Merrimac lay immobile in the centre of the arena. Finally, the match was called to an end as Merrimac was clearly knocked out and Thor, still active[19].
Winner: Thor
The Master vs Painful Wedgie[]
Both robots slowly approached each other and circled around one another cautiously. The Master turned and rammed into Painful Wedgie using its lifter to lift Painful Wedgie, dragging it across the arena at the same time before finally toppling Painful Wedgie over onto its side, where it was unable to self-right.
Winner: The Master
Mauler 95 vs The Mulcher[]
Before the battle could start, the event coordinators deemed The Mulcher too dangerous and was barred from the competition [20].
Winner: Mauler 95
DooMore vs Creeping Death[]
An incredibly slow start with Creeping Death seemingly immobile from the start and DooMore taking over fifteen seconds to travel from one end of the arena to the other. Upon getting to Creeping Death, DooMore carefully positioned itself with the pneumatic spike to stab Creeping Death. After a few attempts, DooMore backed away before speeding towards Creeping Death and attempting to use the spike again, narrowly missing its opponent.
Winner: DooMore
Blendo vs Namreko 2000[]
As battle began, Blendo sped up to speed and slowly navigated towards the centre of the arena as Namreko 2000 slowly approached. Both robots slowly circled around each other until the swinging ball hazard smashed into the spinning Blendo, causing a dent but not disrupting the full-body spinner who began battering the front spikes of Namreko 2000. Blendo managed to bend the spikes of Namreko 2000 as it continued its assault, damaging the sides of the taller robot. Despite the damage, Namreko 2000 attempted to push and use its chainsaw against Blendo, causing some sparks but in turn, losing the chainsaw chain from the spinner. Namreko 2000 began spinning around but Blendo continued the assault, smashing into it three more times causing some sparks before finally knocking Namreko 2000 out.[21]
Winner: Blendo
Round 2[]
Cyberknight vs Thor[]
Having lost the ability to use its saw from the previous fight, Cyberknight was at a slight disadvantage, to make matters worse within the first few seconds of the fight, the motors had blown, rendering Cyberknight immobilised after steady movements forwards [22]. Thor meanwhile was tentatively moving forwards before swinging down rapidly with the clawed hammer, smashing the back exposed weapon motor of Cyberknight. Despite this assault and Thor running over Cyberknight, Cyberknight managed to come back to life and slowly turned before steadily getting away before getting to the centre of the arena and suffering more control issues which would last the whole match with it spinning around in circles. Thor slammed in and hammered away, denting the top armour and battering the motors. The more Thor hammer, the more dents and smaller pieces from the motors flew off as well as the grinding disc being warped and chipped by Thor's attacks. The relentless hammering had managed to finally KO Cyberknight, granting Thor a quick win[23].
Winner: Thor
The Master vs Mauler 95[]
The Master entered the arena with its sawblade at a sideways angle for this battle. Here, the match began with Mauler spinning up to speed as The Master tentatively approached with its saw blade before making impact causing a puff of smoke and the spinner of Mauler to stop. The two backed away, both spinning up again until another impact. The Master used its saw to grind away at the sides and top of Mauler, however, Mauler's spinning bashed the engine used for the saw blade and ended up breaking it. With the sawblade all but destroyed, The Master changed tactics and turned around to use its flipper, where it managed to lift Mauler from the lid of the robot and carry it toward the arena mousetrap. Here, The Master became relentless in its assaults backing out and continually flipping Mauler upwards, lifting the top plate and essentially disabling Mauler's only means of offence, however, these rapid assaults also resulted in The Master's motors falling out of the robot and being dragged across the arena. Mauler's movements became sluggish as The Master continued to stab and lift with the lifter, almost toppling Mauler on a few occasions. With The Master falling apart and Mauler seemingly immobile the match slowly drew to an end with The Master continuing to lift Mauler upwards although at a slower pace with the remaining few moments of the match having both robots sluggishly jolting one another with no real action. Once the match ended, The Master spun around with its lifter up in the air while Mauler stood still immobile. The Master would be awarded the win and progress forward.
Winner: The Master
DooMore vs Blendo[]
Before the match could begin, Blendo was allowed to spin up to speed allowing it to be ready once the match started. As battle began, DooMore slowly crept forward as Blendo approached, spinning rapidly as it closed in before making contact, sending DooMore spinning slightly as one of the spikes of DooMore was broken off and sent flying. DooMore approached again and attempted to fire its spike at Blendo, however, Blendo was aggressive and sped into it and got under DooMore before the latter backed away. DooMore struggled to figure out an action plan on Blendo, backing away and attempting to avoid the spinner, spinning across the arena and firing its weapon but avoiding any clashes. After a few moments of little action, DooMore lifted its weapon mechanism and started spinning on the spot, using its spikes as an offensive weapon. However, Blendo was unfazed by this attempt and span into DooMore, bending and snapping off the side spikes, in turn, the shell of Blendo was crumpled by the spikes. DooMore stopped spinning and began to speed away when Blendo once again managed to slip underneath it for a few moments before spinning away while DooMore sped away. As Blendo sat in the corner spinning, DooMore smashed into it to avail, backing away as Blendo turned and smashed into the floor flipper and Cambot, slicing through and causing sparks to fly upon impact. Cambot darted away from danger while Blendo crashed into the corner as DooMore charged in and smashed into Blendo, riding on top of it, but this attack proved costly once DooMore backed away as it began to smoke heavily, having damaged itself in the ramming attack. With Blendo stuck in the corner and DooMore spinning on fire, the match came to an end with Blendo declared the winner[24].
After the match, it was discovered that parts of DooMore had flown into the crowd, narrowly missing a pregnant spectator. Due to the dangerous nature of Blendo, it was forced to withdraw.[25]
Winner: Blendo, later withdrew due to danger.
Final[]
The Master vs Thor[]
- "In '95, The Master faced the awesome Thor in the Heavyweight Face-Off Finals. And though his saw was smashed, he still knocked Thor out."
- — Paul Vallis summarizes the Heavyweight Final of 95 in American Robot Wars 1996
The Master and Thor approached one another with the latter getting caught by an arena mousetrap but managing to get away and swinging down on The Master, initially missing the first few attacks before finally making impact landing a hit on The Master's saw blade causing sparks to fly. The Master slams into the side of Thor and cuts the side armour, although the disc was all but decimated, it slips away and turns around and faces Thor with its flipper, charging in and getting under Thor and lifting Thor upwards as it flailed away. Thor spasms endlessly as The Master flips it up but Thor survives and darts around the arena while The Master turns in circles unable to move on one wheel. Thor turns around and faces The Master before charging in and swinging down with the axe, however, missed all of its attacks and eventually had its axe stuck in a downward position allowing The Master to circle around and stab the side with its flipper spike. With both robots seemingly immobile in the centre of the arena, Thor began to smoke heavily as The Master managed to spin and turn Thor and itself around, slowly pushing Thor, having managed to regain drive on both wheels. The Master shunts the smoking Thor across the arena and into the back corner. The match came to an end with a member of staff putting Thor out with a fire extinguisher and The Master being declared the heavyweight champion.
Winner: The Master
Middleweight Face-Off[]
Round 1[]
Dawn Patrol vs Satoru Special 2[]
Dawn Patrol slowly charged towards Satoru Special 2, who turned around to defend itself, backing into the sawblades of Dawn Patrol. Both robots backed away and swerved around the arena, chasing each other, making minimal contact. Eventually, Dawn Patrol caught up and reversed into Satoru Special 2, pushing it into an arena mousetrap, which slapped down hitting the two robots. The two robots backed away as Satoru Special 2 span its turret around and started slicing at Dawn Patrol causing sparks to fly as Dawn Patrol attempted to push back, instead the two going into circles. Both robots then began to chase each other across the arena, neither gaining a purchase over the other before finally tackling one another, driving into Cambot in the process. Dawn patrol applied pressure to Satoru Special 2, pushing it between the arena mousetrap and the stationary Cambot. As Cambot moved away, Satoru Special 2 started to slice at Dawn Patrol again, however, the robot survived and continued pushing Satoru Special 2 further between the floor flipper and the mousetrap. After several moments of pressure, both robots backed away towards the middle of the arena. Dawn Patrol lingered as Satoru Special 2 circled about before crashing into the side wall, seemingly having some control issues. The battle would come to an end and Dawn Patrol was awarded the victory[26].
Winner: Dawn Patrol
La Machine vs Boy Howdy[]
The battle lasted a mere ten seconds as Boy Howdy failed to move in time as La Machine charged from one end of the arena towards Boy Howdy and slammed it against the side wall. La Machine backed away, however, Boy Howdy was now mobile and attempted to attack, instead sliding up the sloped wedge before attempting to sit and spin against La Machine. La Machine quickly rammed the side of Boy Howdy and toppled it onto its side where Boy Howdy could not self right.
Winner: La Machine
StingRayBot vs Have a Nice Day[]
Have a Nice Day failed to work from the start of the match, the petrol powered machine had a malfunction causing it to spin slightly before stopping dead as StingRayBot slowly approached and attempted to sit and spin against the immobile Have a Nice Day. StingRayBot pushed the dead robot before the match ended[27].
Winner: StingRayBot
The X-1 vs Ladybug[]
Ladybug had a slow start as The X-1 charged and slammed into it. Ladybug attempted to use its smothering weapon but was continuedly pushed back against the arena wall, slowly, with no effective measure to push back. Eventually, The X-1 successfully pressured Ladybug against the back wall of the arena where Ladybug began to smoke relentlessly as its motors burnt out. The X-1 lifted Ladybug slightly before backing away and leaving the smoking machine immobile.
Winner: The X-1
Round 2[]
Dawn Patrol vs La Machine[]
Immediately, La Machine charged across the arena and bashed directly into Dawn Patrol, throwing it upwards before turning and slamming Dawn Patrol against a side wall where Dawn Patrol was side-stranded [28].
Winner: La Machine
StingRayBot vs The X-1[]
The match began tentatively, with The X-1 quickly charging to the centre of the arena before halting as StingRayBot span. After a brief period, and following a failed attempt at lifting its opponent, The X-1 managed to grab onto StingRayBot's tail, driving in circles a few times and dragging StingRayBot alongside it. Despite some vague attempts to relieve itself, StingRayBot failed to escape and was counted out as a result.
Winner: The X-1
Final[]
La Machine vs The X-1[]
The X-1 initially swerved to the right, causing La Machine to overshoot into the Arena Wall. After that, however, The X-1 was scooped up and pushed into the arena paddleboards. It then attempted to pirouette towards La Machine, but consistently failed. Following that, it chased La Machine to the right-hand side of the arena, where it drove onto its opponent's wedge and was barged into the Arena Mousetraps. Here, it became momentarily stuck, before being removed by a subsequent offensive from La Machine. The X-1 tried to stage its own offensive on La Machine from there, attempting to flip it twice and trying to use its back spike, but both failed, with The X-1 then being dragged towards the top Arena Mousetrap before it spun in place. From there, it became victim to several more attacks, although it did manage to spin off of La Machine's wedge when being pushed around. After the first offensive failed as a result of being interrupted, a second attempt was made, which also failed as The X-1 rammed into the Arena Mousetraps. There, it escaped to the bottom-right corner of the arena before being pushed into the Wrecking Ball by La Machine. Following a handful of further pushes, La Machine was able to get beneath The X-1 once more, pushing them across the arena again. By this stage of the battle, The X-1 began to struggle with drive issues, being rendered unable to move at a similar pace, an issue exploited by La Machine as it pinned The X-1 against the Arena Walls before retreating. The X-1 eventually managed to prise itself off of the Arena Walls, although only through moving underneath the Arena Mousetraps, which slammed into its top. It then lurched sluggishly forwards but still attempted to attack, mistiming an attack with its lifter. Further attacks continued from La Machine, but following a brief deluge, The X-1 was able to reclaim some mobility, spiralling around at a hastened pace before inching forwards into the right-hand corner of the arena, finally stopping after a brief moment. La Machine pushed it first into the Arena Mousetraps and then towards the right hand of the arena, where it remained, its top visibly buckled, as La Machine was declared the champion of the Middleweight Face-Off.
Winner: La Machine
Lightweight Face-Off[]
Round 1[]
Sonic vs Black Sheep[]
Sonic got the quicker start as it charged across the arena and smashed into Black Sheep before shunting Black Sheep back against the arena wall, pressuring it for a moment before backing off. Black Sheep took time to move again and was met with Sonic sitting and spinning, thwacking away at Black Sheep who retreated back against the arena side wall. Sonic lingered as Black Sheep seemed immobile a second time before slowly driving towards the centre of the arena, only to be rammed by Sonic, knocking it out once again, this time for good. With Black Sheep immobile, Sonic pushed and shove Black Sheep across the arena and behind an arena mousetrap [29].
Winner: Sonic
Los Gringos Loco vs Kitty Puff Puff[]
Los Gringos Loco sped its weapon up to speed and moved towards the corner as Kitty Puff Puff slowly crept forwards towards the spinner. Steadily, Kitty Puff Puff slammed into Los Gringos Loco and pushed it further towards the corner and stopping the lawnmower blade completely as it appeared Los Gringos Loco had lost all mobility. Kitty Puff Puss backed into Los Gringos loco and began to deploy its tape snagging device, wrapping around Los Gringos Loco by going in circles around the immobile machine, wrapping it extensively with tape. With Los Gringos Loco having been immobilised from the start, Kitty Puff Puff continued to go around its opponent, occasionally pushing it before the match came to an end[30].
Winner: Kitty Puff Puff
Test Toaster One vs S.P.S. #1[]
Both robots missed each other in the initial charge with Test Toaster One getting hit by an arena mousetrap. S.P.S. #1 charged in and scooped under Test Toaster One, bulldozing it across the arena, taking command of the larger robot. Soon, however, S.P.S. #1 slammed into Test Toaster One and drove itself in behind the arena mousetrap and arena flipper, getting itself caught and trapped, giving Test Toaster One an easy win [31].
Winner: Test Toaster One
Andy Roid vs Piranhabot[]
Piranhabot got the quicker start, charging across the arena and slamming into Andy Roid, knocking it slightly and dazing the 1994 veteran machine. Andy Roid slowly manoeuvred across the arena and drove in behind the mousetrap mechanism where it was trapped, before backing behind the arena flipper. Piranhabot charged into the trapped Andy Roid, however, upon doing so managed to knock itself out. Andy Roid, was wedged between Piranhabot and the arena hazards, but slowly managed to back away and free itself, driving around the arena as Piranhabot remained immobile.[32]
Winner: Andy Roid
Round 2[]
Sonic vs Kitty Puff Puff[]
A quick start as both robots initially swerved passed each other, until Sonic quickly turned around rapidly and charged into the slower-turning Kitty Puff Puff. Sonic slammed into the back end of Kitty Puff Puff, however, Kitty Puff Puff deployed the snagging tape mechanism and slowly crept away as Sonic sat and span on the spot in a vain attempt to hit Kitty Puff Puff. Kitty Puff Puff was attacked once more from behind by Sonic who slammed into it with the front prod, seemingly unaffected by the tape which wrapped around the wheels and bottom of the robot. Sonic managed to impale the back of Kitty Puff Puff and began driving it across the arena, slamming Kitty Puff Puff into the arena flippers then the side walls and driving all over in loops before Kitty Puff Puff managed to slip away after the two accidentally drove into Cambot. Here, Kitty Puff Puff slowly drifted off and attempted to face Sonic head on, both robots pushing against each other until Sonic darted away and slammed into the arena side wall uncontrollably, managing to get itself stuck. Kitty Puff Puff slowly pressured the trapped Sonic where Sonic was counted out and Kitty Puff Puff awarded the win.[33]
Winner: Kitty Puff Puff
Test Toaster One vs Andy Roid[]
Both robots clashed in the centre, turning around each other as Andy Roid shot out its entanglement net at Test Toaster One, speeding away. Test Toaster One was unaffected by the net and stayed sitting and spinning in the centre of the arena as Andy Roid circled around the arena twice dodging Test Toaster One. Test Toaster One briefly drove into a mousetrap mechanism before backing away and slamming into Andy Roid, pushing it against the arena side wall. Andy Roid attempted to get away from Test Toaster One but was slammed into twice before breaking down in the centre of the arena. With Andy Roid immobile, Test Toaster One shunted its immobile opponent around the arena and near the mousetrap as the match was called to an end[34].
Winner: Test Toaster One
Final[]
Kitty Puff Puff vs Test Toaster One[]
Both robots charged forward, but missed each other in the initial charge, however, Test Toaster One amended this by reversing into Kitty Puff Puff who also turned around and slammed into the thwackbot. Test Toaster One was slammed near the back end of the arena mousetrap as Kitty Puff Puff began to deploy its sellotape snagging device which worked against Test Toaster One whose wheels began to be wrapped up by the tape. Despite this inconvenience, Test Toaster One was unfazed and pursued Kitty Puff Puff which sped away around the arena, until it turned around and was thwacked by Test Toaster One's beam. The two robots went in circles until Kitty Puff Puff evacuated again with Test Toaster One chasing and attempting to thwack it, however, during the chase, Test Toaster One accidentally turned into the side of the arena mousetrap and became stuck. Test Toaster One was unable to move, allowing Kitty Puff Puff to tentatively close in, however, upon getting close, Test Toaster One turned around and slammed into the side of Kitty Puff Puff before backing away as the mousetrap slammed on top of Kitty Puff Puff. Kitty Puff Puff struggled to back away as Test Toaster One crashed into it and swung several times, smacking Kitty Puff Puff against the side, circling around the arena, both pushing and jabbing one another. After several moments the two robots backed away with Test Toaster One accidentally got caught by the arena mousetrap while Kitty Puff Puff was struggling to move as a result of its own snagging device. Once freed, Test Toaster One charged towards its opponent where it span around and thwacked, then pushed Kitty Puff Puff against the side wall. Kitty Puff Puff's slow movements allowed Test Toaster One to bully it around the back corner of the arena, pushing the boxy machine towards the arena corner, pressuring it as Kitty Puff Puff could only spin around in circles, Test Toaster One pinned it against the corner, where it remained for the rest of the match who could only spin around and be unable to move from its spot.
Winner: Test Toaster One
Super Lightweight Face-Off[]
Round 1[]
Fuzzy Yum Yum vs Zomo[]
Battle began but Zomo was immobilised from the start. Fuzzy Yum Yum slowly drove across the arena but ended up driving into an arena mousetrap where it was caught several times by the mechanism before approaching the immobile Zomo and slowly tapping it several times before the match was declared over.
Winner: Fuzzy Yum Yum
Spiked Master vs Piranhabot[]
Both robots charged towards each other with Piranhabot rolling over Spiked Master, who darted to the other side of the arena as Piranhabot pursued it. Soon both robot, uncontrollably, span around the arena, neither making contact and smacking into the arena walls and making little impact. Soon, Piranhabot's back right wheel began to waver as Spiked Master drove itself in between the arena flipper and side wall, seemingly trapping itself as a wobbly Piranhabot pressured it darted away. Spike Master sped away from the floor flipper and slammed into Piranhabot, crashing into it from all sides and even driving over the taller robot, flopping over the arena. Both robots began to spin around the arena, with Spiked Master slamming into the end of the arena as Piranhabot slowly crept up and began to attack it, in the corner of the arena. After using its sawblades to attack Spiked Master, Piranhabot slowly backed away as Spiked Master span around while Piranhabot slowly slammed into Spiked Master, with both robots crashing into the side wall. Spiked Master had managed to wedge itself sideways on Piranhabot with both robots stuck and unable to move for over twenty seconds. Eventually, Spike Master fell down and freed itself as well as Piranhabot who backed away slowly. Spike Master, uncontrollably sped around and smashed into the arena and Piranhabot a few times, even flying over the floor flipper when it smashed into it, all while Piranhabot stayed stationary, seemingly immobile. Eventually, Spiked Master slammed into an immobile Piranhabot from the side, with both robots side by side, however, this attack resulted in both machines becoming stuck, once again, rendering both robots immobilised. The match came to an end and Spiked Master was declared the winner.
Winner: Spiked Master
The Nexus 7 vs Fast Eddie[]
The Nexus 7 got the quicker start, charging across the arena and into the active Fast Eddie, where it managed to knock Fast Eddie about before rolling around the arena. The initial attack left Fast Eddie seemingly struggling to move as The Nexus 7 backed into Fast Eddie and used its saw blade to slice into its opponent. Fast Eddie attempted to move and wedge itself under The Nexus 7 but the latter continued to use the saw blade to cut into Fast Eddie. Soon Fast Eddie tried to back into and push against The Nexus 7, however, this resulted in both robots being stuck to each other and unable to move. An audience vote was cast, ruling The Nexus 7 victorious.
Winner: The Nexus 7
KMM vs Gigan[]
KMM drove forwards as Gigan stayed put and span up to speed, KMM accidentally drove into an arena mousetrap before backing away and slowly approaching Gigan. Gigan, who had remained in place the entire time, spinning its flails, was immediately caught by the jaws of KMM, before KMM backed away and Gigan attempted to get away. KMM then grabbed Gigan from the side and pushed it across the arena, towards the centre, clamping down and pinning Gigan in place, granting KMM a quick win. [35]
Winner: KMM
Snickers vs Spiny Norman[]
Spiny Norman charged across the arena to a still but spinning Snicker, who attempted to fend off the speedy, spiky robot. Spiny Norman was slightly damaged as a result of the sit and spin tactic from Snickers, sending one-half of the robot's spiky armour upwards but it was still quick across the arena as it sped around the arena and attempted to ram the still-spinning Snickers, who thwacked Spiny Norman away before deciding to ram Spiny Norman from the side. Spiny Norman managed to wriggle away and slammed into Snickers as the two danced around the arena slamming into one another and prodding one another every so often. Later in the steady match, Spiny Norman was caught by the arena mousetrap which slammed down and got caught on its spikes as Snickers lingered nearby. Once freed, both robots clashed again, neither making much impact on one another.[36]
At that point, Snickers had become completely immobilized after blowing its own fuse. As confirmed by team member Grayson DuRaine, Spiny Norman would be deemed the winner on this basis.[16]
Winner: Spiny Norman
Holobot vs Vladmir[]
The match began slowly as both robots crept across the arena meeting each other near one of the arena mousetraps. However, Vladmir darted away before they made impacts, speeding around the arena before slamming into Holobot. Holobot, unfazed, reversed into the speedy Vladmir who sped away and stabbed Holobot several times before running away again. Holobot began to chase after Vladmir and the two pushed against each other and chased one another around the arena. The chase eventually ended when both machines were caught by the arena mousetrap, hitting both robots and tearing off Vladmir's red tinsel "tail" in the process. Vladmir backed away, much slower than usual and drove into a arena flipper where it promptly broke down, Holobot followed and began pushing Vladmir and shunted it across the arena and behind the arena mousetrap where it was pinned and eliminated from the competition.
Winner: Holobot
Ziggy vs Slomo 2[]
Ziggy slowly crept into the centre of the arena where it suddenly stopped as Slomo approached and circled around at the backend, slamming the back of Ziggy. As Ziggy sat immobile with occasional spurts of movements, Slomo slammed into it from all sides, nudging with very little effect until Ziggy began to speedily back away and slam into Slomo. Both robots circled the arena, chasing one another as Slomo caught the back side of Ziggy only for Ziggy's control problems to affect it further with it being pressured to the back of the arena. Slomo was unable to do much as Ziggy's sloped body meant it was unable to gain much purchase and would drive up the ramp instead as Ziggy's control issues continued to persist. Ziggy was able to get away from the back sidewall and again with brief spurts of movements it managed to get towards the centre of the arena as Slomo sped about aimlessly. Almost two minutes into the battle, Ziggy was able to back into Slomo impaling it with the rear spikes, the two stuck to each other as Ziggy's body managed to bend upwards. Ironically, the self-inflicted damage to Ziggy helped improve the control as Ziggy freed itself and zipped around the arena but is slammed into from the back side by Slomo. Slomo chased after Ziggy who ran away to the other side of the arena, but in doing so, Slomo is caught by the arena mousetrap for a moment before getting away and is slammed into by Ziggy who managed to scoop under Slomo shunting it across the arena. Almost getting trapped by the arena mousetrap, backing away then slamming and flying over the top of Slomo. Both robots zipped around each other, both ramming one another head-on with Slomo getting under Zippy and vice versa. For the next few minutes, Slomo and Ziggy engaged in jabbing attacks, chasing one another around the arena and impacting when they met. As four minutes passed, Ziggy managed to impale the side of Slomo and the two became stuck, going in circles in the centre of the arena getting nowhere as the time slowly ran out, but as the match was drawing nearer to a close Ziggy managed to push Slomo across the arena into the back corner. With the match coming to an end, Ziggy was awarded the victory.
Winner: Ziggy
S.P.S. #2 vs Orb of Doom[]
A battle between two of the most unique robots in the competition, started off slow with Orb of Doom slowly rolling across the arena as S.P.S. #2 flew across the arena jolting up and down aiming its net to "catch" Orb of Doom. As S.P.S. #2 floated up and down, Orb of Doom slowly rolled aimlessly into an arena flipper and into the arena side wall before getting itself caught in an arena mousetrap. Orb of Doom, once freed, slowly rolled away hitting the swinging ball, before twitching in the centre and then crashing itself into the arena corner as S.P.S. #2 also struggled to move from its spot, floating across the arena before bolting itself downwards with the net. As S.P.S. #2 managed to gain some control, it flew towards the centre of the arena only for a swinging ball to smack into and cripple the flying robot temporarily, knocking a part of it off as it untangled itself and flew away towards the arena side once more. S.P.S. #2 crashed into several side walls before it returned towards the centre of the arena as Orb of Doom managed to also free itself again and rolled into the centre also. Awkwardly both robots missed each other as Orb of Doom suddenly stopped at the end of the arena and S.P.S. #2 flew into a arena flipper where its net got caught by the hazard. After around thirty seconds of being trapped, S.P.S. #2 flew away and managed to get close to the immobile Orb of Doom, where it attempted and failed several times to use the net to "catch" Orb of Doom. However, as Orb of Doom had lost mobility long ago, S.P.S. #2 won, all while never interacting with its opponent.[37]
Winner: S.P.S. #2
Round 2[]
Fuzzy Yum Yum vs Spiked Master[]
Spiked Master was the quicker start charging towards the slower Fuzzy Yum Yum, who took a turn right, deploying the tape-snagging device before reversing into Spiked Master. Spike Master was unfazed by Fuzzy Yum Yum's attacks and pushed back, penetrating the back end with its spike as Fuzzy Yum Yum sped away but managed to get itself caught by the tape, which caused its mobility issues as Spiked Master continued to ram into it, circling around the arena and taking jabs, shunting it further across the arena. Slamming into Fuzzy Yum Yum towards the back of the arena, Spiked Master managed to deflate one of the tires. These stabbing attacks managed to knock Fuzzy Yum Yum out, as it stayed immobile while Spiked Master sped around the arena with tape wrapping around its wheels which after a while of uncontrollable movements ended up immobilising Spike Master but it had already won the match by this point.
Winner: Spiked Master
The Nexus 7 vs KMM[]
Both robots had a quick start but missed each other during the initial charge, turning around at both ends of the arena and charging back towards each other, with The Nexus 7 rotating and backing into KMM who almost grabbed it with the pincers. The Nexus 7 sped away and attempted to circle around KMM to catch it off guard but KMM turned around on the spot, keeping its claws facing Nexus 7 before grabbing it once The Nexus 7 reversed into it. The Nexus 7 attempted to push KMM back while caught in its grip, however, KMM pushed back, never letting go, pushing The Nexus 7 around the arena, bashing it into the floor flipper and the mousetrap. KMM ended up winning the match as a result of pinning.
Winner: KMM
Spiny Norman vs Holobot[]
Both robots charged towards each other with Holobot turning around and immediately charging into Spiny Norman. This first attack immobilised Spiny Norman with the the front wheels buckled and bent, Holobot slammed into Spiny Norman again from the side. Holobot continued its assault on the immobile opponent, slamming into it multiple times and shoving Spiny Norman about and towards the arena flipper where Spiny Norman was trapped and thwacked by the arena flipper, almost toppling Spiny Norman at one point. Here, Spiny Norman remained, having been immobilised almost straight away.
Winner: Holobot
Ziggy vs S.P.S. #2[]
The battle began tentatively as S.P.S. #2 floated up and down and Ziggy sat back slowly approaching without much idea to attack the flying machine. As Ziggy turned and waited for a moment for attack, S.P.S. #2 was thwacked by the swinging ball sending it across the arena and upwards, disrupting its flight. Ziggy waited as S.P.S. #2 slowly drifted back down near the back corner, which allowed Ziggy to charge in and ram the net of S.P.S. #2, slamming the flying robot into the arena wall, and popping one of the large red balloons used for its flight. The main body of S.P.S. #2 crashed down allowing Ziggy to ram it towards the corner some more as an arena flipper thwacked the now immobile flying robot.
Winner: Ziggy
Round 3[]
Spiked Master vs KMM[]
As both robots charged into each other, KMM used its jaws to grab Spiked Master, however, Spiked Master managed to push KMM backwards. Spiked Master got away and sped around the arena as KMM drove into a side wall. Spiked Master slammed into the back of KMM before running away as KMM turned and chased Spiked Master and eventually grabbed Spiked Master after the invertible robot slammed into KMM's front. Upon being grabbed, Spiked Master's motors began to smoke and the jaws of KMM lifted Spiked Master upwards and presented it across the arena, winning the match by pin [38].
Winner: KMM
Holobot vs Ziggy[]
Holobot made the first move, edging towards Ziggy only to stop just halfway through as Ziggy charged forwards aimlessly. Ziggy turned around and rammed into Holobot, knocking it but only slightly as Holobot turned around and attacked Ziggy from behind, pushing against its back. Holobot continued its pushing attacks on Ziggy, rubbing against the sides, back and running up its wedge a few times. It was clear by Holobots constant ramming attacks and Ziggy's inaction that the latter had become immobile as Holobot rammed it by the side and pushed it towards the arena corner where after some considerable time, Ziggy was declare immobilised[39].
Winner: Holobot
Final[]
KMM vs Holobot[]
Due to the lack of footage available of the battle, it is unknown how this battle turned out, it is however, known that KMM dominated the fight, grabbing hold of Holobot and taking ita round the arena and slamming it into Cambot at one point[40] eventually with KMM being victorious over Holobot.
Winner: KMM

Round 1[]
Spiked Master vs KMM vs Snickers vs Holobot vs Spiny Norman[]
Spiny Norman darted across the arena and towards Snickers, as Holobot pursued after it while Spiked Master rammed into KMM which backed away and turned into a speeding Snickers. As Holobot and Spiny Norman clashed, KMM stalked Spiked Master across the arena as it darted aimlessly around and even behind the arena flipper and under the arena mousetrap before darting to where Spiny Norman, which had been knocked immobile against the side wall, Holobot and Snickers, who was spinning on the spot. Soon all robots were in the arena corner before Spiked Master and Holobot sped away, chased by KMM who then targeted Snicker, grabbing hold of it with the claws while Holobot bulldozed Spiked Master about. Snickers began to push back against KMM while Holobot slammed into Spiked Master, chasing it around the arena before it eventually managed to slam Spiked Master into an arena side wall, up on the side and stranded by a poster. Holobot turned soon charged into Snicker, slamming into the robot but Snickers ended up pushing back and shunted Holobot across the arena before Holobot broke off only to be attacked side on. As the two clashed, KMM darted into fray, missing the initial charge but regaining its position to attack the other two fighting machine, grasping both robots with the large claws. All three broke away before KMM managed to grab hold of Snickers who had just charged in front, keeping hold of it and spinning around on the spot with Snickers in its claws while Holobot sped around the two idly. As time passed, Holobot eventually drove in and started slicing into KMM's front side and claw, grinding away at the arm as the arena mousetrap slammed down on the two. Holobot backed away after the mousetrap caught it and began a second attack, slamming into Snickers and slicing at the wooden body as all three eventually get thwacked by the arena mousetrap. For a brief instance, Snickers broke free from KMM with some damage to the top armour plate, only to be caught again seconds later by KMM as Holobot slammed into the back of KMM before backing away. As KMM held Snickers in its claws again, the arena mousetrap on the opposite side this time, slammed down on top and dragged the two robots closer. The battle was drawing near to a close with Holobot making one last attack on the arms of KMM, slicing at the arm and then backing off. The match ended and the three remaining machines all qualified for the final melee.
Winners: KMM, Snickers & Holobot
Gigan vs Piranhabot vs Zomo vs Slomo 2 vs Fuzzy Yum Yum vs The Nexus 7[]
Piranhabot charged across the arena and slammed into Gigan as it crashed into Fuzzy Yum Yum as Slomo 2 rammed and got underneath Zomo becoming stuck under it for a while. Slomo continued to bully Zomo as Fuzzy Yum Yum darted across the arena and Piranhabot began sawing into Gigan near one of the arena mousetraps. The Nexus 7 charged across the arena and backed into Zomo with Slomo 2 assisting the attacks, both ganging up on Zomo. Zomo attempted to get away driving dangerously close to one of the arena mousetraps only to then drive directing into the second arena mousetrap where it was caught by the net. The net happened to wrap itself around the top spire of Zomo which resulted in the mousetrap lifting Zomo up off of the ground, flapping it up and down with Zomo unable to escape. As Zomo remained trapped, the other featherweight clashed in the top half of the arena where Gigan was smashed against the side wall and broke down. Fuzzy Yum Yum began using tape across the arena to entangle the competitors, driving across the arena and targeting The Nexus 7, while Piranhabot drove over the tape and began stuck. Meanwhile, Slomo and The Nexus 7 bashed each other into the corner before Slomo charged across and slammed into Piranhabot, unintentionally getting stuck on the tape also, as Fuzzy Yum Yum chased The Nexus 7 around the arena. Slomo managed to escape and charged under Fuzzy Yum Yum while Zomo's spire detached and allowed Zomo freedom again. The final four robots lingered around each other, nudging and pushing each other with no real effect. Suddenly, Slomo charged into the arena corner before backing away and slamming under Fuzzy Yum Yum and rammed it across the arena and slamming it into an arena mousetrap. Bothe robots returned to the fray at the top of the arena where Zomo was being battered by The Nexus 7, followed by Fuzzy Yum Yum before all four began chasing each other and occasionally slamming into one another. Eventually, after several minutes of little action the melee came to an end
Winners: Zomo, Fuzzy Yum Yum & The Nexus 7

KMM vs The Nexus 7 vs Fuzzy Yum Yum vs Snickers vs Zomo vs Holobot[]
Prior to the fight Zomo removed its dome and used its spire as a front spiked weapon, rendering it armourless. As soon as battle began Fuzzy Yum Yum charged across the arena and slammed into KMM as Holobot managed to topple Zomo over immediately rendering it immobile for the remainder of the match. Fuzzy Yum Yum sped around the arena in laps using its tape-snagging mechanism to litter the arena with tape to trap opponents, however, as it charged around Holobot managed to catch it off guard and slammed into the side, slicing through the middle of Fuzzy Yum Yum with its saw blade, backing out temporarily before slamming back in and slicing another chunk from the side of Fuzzy Yum Yum until it got away. Meanwhile, KMM circled around and attempted to gran The Nexus 7 who got away unharmed as Holobot chased the two while Snickers pushed the side of KMM as the arena mousetrap slammed down on the opponents briefly. Fuzzy Yum Yum continued its tape tactic which began to affect Snickers somewhat who was unable to sit and spit nor move effectively from its area in the arena allowing KMM slammed into Snickers and grab hold with the claws, dragging it across the arena before slamming it into a side wall. Holobot managed to catch up to Fuzzy Yum Yum again and slice into the side and pushing it across the arena toward one of the corners. Fuzzy Yum Yum backed away and was slammed by Snickers as Holobot became entangled by the tape and eventually drove off to a side wall where it lost all mobility, while KMM was trapped behind and arena mousetrap, being freed once Fuzzy Yum Yum began to ram into it, in return KMM attempted to grab Fuzzy Yum Yum but was unsuccessful. The Nexus 7 suddenly sprung to life and darted into the middle of the arena where it was caught by an arena mousetrap before ramming into the tape covered Snickers while KMM continued to chase after and try to grab Fuzzy Yum Yum, successfully grabbing it side on before it got away. Snickers continued to get wrapped up with tape, having accidentally entangled its entire body with tape as Fuzzy Yum Yum and The Nexus 7 began to play around with the carcass of Zomo until KMM grabbed Fuzzy Yum Yum from behind while The Nexus 7 began to charge up a ramming attack, going to the opposite side of the arena and then charging into Fuzzy Yum Yum, sending it upwards and onto and wedged on Zomo. Snickers came in and slammed into Fuzzy Yum Yum before being attacked by The Nexus 7 who in turn was grabbed by KMM only to back into the featherweight champion, Snickers on the other hand drove into an arena mousetrap and lost all drive for a few moments. KMM and The Nexus 7 began a brief pushing battle with The Nexus 7 reverse pushing KMM across the arena, KMM attempted to catch The Nexus 7 but was interrupted by an arena flipper which thwacked it, preventing any movement all while The Nexus 7 drove around the arena and bashed into Fuzzy Yum Yum, freeing it. KMM was also soon freed and drove towards where The Nexus 7 and Fuzzy Yum Yum were, in the back corner, and attempted to push Fuzzy Yum Yum while grabbing hold from the side, both robots getting thwacked by the arena mousetrap as The Nexus 7 chased after a now mobile Snickers.
Time ran out on the Melee, and all robots which were still mobile were instructed to demonstrate their mobility. KMM and Fuzzy Yum Yum separated and headed to the centre to join Snickers and The Nexus 7. Fuzzy Yum Yum proceeded to crash into the side of KMM, whose left claw, wrapped with tape, was left dangling after sustaining damage from the arena flippers. Meanwhile, The Nexus 7 had slammed into a side wall and stopped moving, with Snickers drifting about covered in tape. While an announcement on the overall winners was imminent, Fuzzy Yum Yum slammed into KMM again, with KMM having also stopped by this time. Ultimately, KMM was declared the 1995 Super Lightweight Melee champion.[41][42]
Winner: KMM

Melee 1[]
Test Toaster One vs Black Sheep vs Kitty Puff Puff vs Sonic[]
The battle began slowly for most competitors who all swarmed the arena testing with Sonic making the first attack, slamming into Test Toaster One after the latter made its way to Sonic sitting and spinning. Sonic then slammed into the made body of Test Toaster One and shunted it across the arena and spinning in circles, even bashing the lightweight champion into the arena mousetrap before Kitty Puff Puff charged in and slammed Test Toaster One into the arena corner. Meanwhile, Sonic attacked Black Sheep, who seemed to be suffering some control issues, and slammed it against the arena side wall, pushing it across the arena side wall where the two were thwacked by the arena flipper as Kitty Puff Puff slammed Test Toaster One across the arena and into the side wall until Sonic slammed into the two. Sonic managed to get under Test Toaster One and carry it around the arena as Kitty Puff Puff chased after them, slamming both robots and freeing Test Toaster One only for Sonic to continue its attacks on Test Toaster One. Miraculously, Test Toaster One's spike managed to swing and dislodge the tire of Sonic, although this did not disrupt its movements, while Kitty Puff Puff accidentally drove into an arena mousetrap. Test Toaster One swings at Sonic a few times before targeting Kitty Puff Puff who had just been freed by the arena mousetrap while Sonic attempted to drive across the arena towards the two battling opponents but the tire damage started to have an effect as its movements became skewered. As Sonic approached, Test Toaster One span and thwacked Sonic but soon Kitty Puff Puff slammed into the two which caused all three robots to become trapped, with Sonic trapped underneath in the middle of both Test Toaster One and Kitty Puff Puff. As the three were trapped, Black Sheep sprung to life and drove into the swing ball which smacked the front plate, however, Black Sheep's movements were nowhere near the competitors and into a side wall just in time for Kitty Puff Puff to free itself and slam into Black Sheep's back end. Sonic and Test Toaster One were still stuck to one another with Sonic managing to carry Test Toaster One on top of it, slamming itself with Test Toaster One into the side wall. Test Toaster One began to attack Kitty Puff Puff, stabbing it with the spike tail and dragging it across the opposite side where Sonic also began to assault the two, but its drive issues becoming more of an issue as the robot began to spin around near the other opponents with no impact. Meanwhile Test Toaster One and Kitty Puff Puff managed to become stuck on one another again as Test Toaster One's spike was embedded in the backend. For over a minute no action took place as the robots either suffered from drive issues or were stuck to one another, however, within the final few minutes of the fight, Test Toaster One suddenly managed to drag Kitty Puff Puff backwards and towards the opposite side of the arena. In the end, all robots ended up qualifying for the second melee.
Winners: All Qualified
Melee 2[]
Test Toaster One vs Sonic vs S.P.S. #1 vs Black Sheep vs Kitty Puff Puff[]
The melee began with S.P.S. #1 immediately scooping up Sonic and shunting it across the arena as Black Sheep tussled with Test Toaster One, shoving it aside and pressuring it in the arena corner. Kitty Puff Puff charged across and narrowly missed Sonic as S.P.S. #1 darted across the arena slamming into Black Sheep and Test Toaster One who was also attacked by Kitty Puff Puff causing all four robots to circle around before splitting off. Black Sheep drives into a mousetrap and is caught while Sonic sits and spins before charging into Kitty Puff Puff, getting underneath and taking it across the arena before being intercepted by S.P.S. #1 allowing Sonic to start ramming Test Toaster One who was pushed into the arena corner with assistance from a now freed Black Sheep which rammed Test Toaster One from another side. Sonic and Black Sheep backed away and joined S.P.S. #1 in a pincer movement on Kitty Puff Puff, managing to lift Kitty Puff Puff upwards and on top of the back of Black Sheep who then moved away as S.P.S. #1 attacked Sonic, getting under and ramming it across the arena side wall with assistance from Test Toaster One who thwacked the opponents. After Sonic was thrashed against the back corner, Sonic slipped away as Kitty Puff Puff charged and attacked S.P.S. #1 but was lifted upwards by the dome-shaped robot while Test Toaster One chased after Sonic before the latter rammed and circled around Test Toaster One. After dispatching S.P.S. #1, Kitty Puff Puff darted across the arena and joined the attack on Test Toaster One resulting in Kitty Puff Puff, Test Toaster One and Sonic circling around each other and occasionally making contact. Eventually, Kitty Puff Puff drove away and is caught by the arena mousetrap while Sonic sits and spins with Test Toaster One standing motionlessly until Kitty Puff Puff backs away and begins to shunt the immobile Black Sheep across the arena and into the opposite side wall while Sonic and Test Toaster One continued to clash with the smaller robot ramming Test Toaster One from underneath. As a result of Black Sheep being rammed into the opposite arena wall, S.P.S. #1 sprung back to life and charged into Test Toaster One, spinning wildly as both Sonic and Kitty Puff Puff assisted in the assault on the lightweight champion. As they continued to gang up on Test Toaster One, Black Sheep suddenly became mobile again and darted across the arena attempting to slam into the competition on for an attack from Sonic to knock Black Sheep out again, as this happened Test Toaster One was attacked by both Kitty Puff Puff and S.P.S. #1 who managed to get under and push Test Toaster One who returned fire by sitting and spinning, thwacking the opponents away. Sonic charged in and gets under Kitty Puff Puff, slamming it against the arena side wall, pinning it. Black Sheep drifted to life, slowly approaching the battle as S.P.S. #1 managed to slam Test Toaster One into the arena side wall where the two are thwacked by the arena flipper resulting in both robots becoming immobile. Sonic and Kitty Puff Puff were the last two robots remaining as Sonic slammed Kitty Puff Puff into an arena mousetrap, however, the latter managed to turn back around and then pin Sonic against the mousetrap as the match came to an end. Kitty Puff Puff would later be declared the winner of the lightweight melee.
Winner: Kitty Puff Puff[43]

La Machine vs Dawn Patrol vs StingRayBot vs The X-1 vs Have a Nice Day vs Satoru Special 2 vs Boy Howdy[]
- "In Robot Wars '95, La Machine tore its Middleweight opponents to pieces. AND was a huge hit with the crowd."
- — Paul Vallis on La Machine's success in the 1995 championship during highlights of the Middleweight Melee in American Robot Wars 1996
Before the match began, Have a Nice Day started its weapon up and began smoking internally, practically rendering it immobilised from the start. La Machine charged from one end of the arena to the other, missing all opponents in its attempts to attack the already smoking Have a Nice Day, and slamming into the arena side wall as Boy Howdy bashed the backend of it. The X-1 charged across the arena, smashing into Dawn Patrol who was caught by the arena mouse trap as La Machine and Boy Howdy both came in and committed a pincer movement on Dawn Patrol. However, La Machine shunted both robots, toppling Boy Howdy over on its side before slamming Dawn Patrol further, slamming it towards Satoru Special 2 and StingRayBot, the latter immobilised from the start. The X-1 began to lift the immobilised StingRayBot while Satoru Special 2 slowly sped away from the clash, La Machine began to attack Dawn Patrol again, getting under and shunting it. As this happened, the arena mousetrap managed to flip Boy Howdy back onto its wheels, allowing it back into the fight while La Machine began slamming into Satoru Special 2, turning around and crashing it into Dawn Patrol and Boy Howdy, toppling the wooden robot over, eliminating Satoru Special 2 from the melee. Boy Howdy started shoving Dawn Patrol across the arena, who was drifting by seemingly losing all mobility, Boy Howdy continued to assault Dawn Patrol, slamming into it and pressuring it into the arena side wall behind the Cambot and near the toppled Satoru Special 2, however, La Machine barged in and slammed into the two robots, causing Dawn Patrol to become temporarily immobilised. La Machine chose its next target in the already immobilised Have a Nice Day, scooping it up and shunting it into an arena mouse trap and Dawn Patrol slowly approached only for The X-1 and La Machine to bot into it, pushing it into the arena mousetrap. The two continued to pressure Dawn Patrol, with Boy Howdy joining the mix, which caused La Machine to become distracted and start attacking the red robot instead, while The X-1 began to lift Dawn Patrol upwards and attempted to topple it over, with the arena mousetrap slamming down on both robots. Meanwhile, Boy Howdy chased La Machine who was more interested in attacking the immobile StingRayBot, pushing it aside and shunting it across the arena and leaving it by the flipped Satoru Special 2 before clashing with Boy Howdy again. The two robots chased one another, spinning around the top half of the arena, Boy Howdy sat and span to keep La Machine away, but the silver wedge was able to slip under and thrust Boy Howdy into the arena side wall, and then into the corner. Once disposed of, La Machine went after the current stuck together Dawn Patrol and The X-1, spinning on the spot and observing the two stuck machines, going to the arena corner, warming up a charge towards the two slamming both robots. La Machine backed off and crashed into the two robots, before scooping up Have a Nice Day and bashing it to the side wall, before attacking Boy Howdy, which had managed to slowly drift across the arena. La Machine finally, finished off Boy Howdy by toppling it sideways against the arena mousetrap side, where it was wedged as The X-1 started moving with Dawn Patrol left into the air with its lifter, showing off the defeated robot. As The X-1 was the only other robot mobile, La Machine began to assault it, slamming several time, which allowed Dawn Patrol to finally be freed, and The X-1 to move about without much problem, however, it was sluggish, allowing La Machine to bash it around where Cambot had driven, slamming it into Cambot, killing off the final opponent, where La Machine celebrated the win by spinning on the spot.
Winner: La Machine

Round 1[]
Creeping Death vs Namreko 2000 vs The Master[]
The Master was equipped with an unusual thin thwacking panel which had two chains at the end of it. The match began with all three robots clashing in the centre, with The Master thwacking Namreko 2000 on the top of its body as Creeping Death slowly smashing in on Namreko's side as The Master backed away. As Creeping Death, aimlessly drove away from the fight, The Master started thrashing Namreko 2000 on the top and against the sides. Meanwhile, Creeping Death, seemingly suffering from mobility issues, struggled to navigate around the arena and as it aimlessly drove near one of the arena mousetraps, the swinging ball hazard ended up smashing the side of the robot, knocking Creeping Death out. The Master and Namreko 2000 continued their fight with the latter struggling against the awkwardly designed thwackbot which battered the top and sides of Namreko, only backing away a few times in order to charge in and smash Namreko 2000 some more. Namreko 2000 eventually succumb to its battering as it eventually lost all drive, leaving The Master the sole survivor.
Winner: The Master
Thor vs Merrimac vs Spirit of Frank vs Painful Wedgie[]
The battle started off slowly as Thor got the first hit in on Painful Wedgie, smacking the top of the robot before the latter moved away and Thor then targeted Spirit of Frank, slamming down onto the barrel body several times until it turned its attention to the currently not moving Merrimac. Merrimac and Thor clashed for a few moments before both robots assaulted Painful Wedgie who was stuck, wedged in the back wall. Thor smacked Painful Wedgie on the top of the robot while Merrimac lifted both Painful Wedgie and Thor, both robots working together to bully Painful Wedgie. Spirit of Frank sped around the arena away from the action, as Merrimac eventually got under Thor who flailed away effortlessly before reversing off and hitting Merrimac repeatedly. After a battering, Merrimac reversed and darted away and was attacked by Spirit of Frank in the centre of the arena, who slowly thwacked down with its hammer, only for Merrimac to flip Spirit of Frank onto its side, where it became stranded. As Merrimac charged in to attack Thor again, flipping it, Spirit of Frank sped its wheel around with no way of getting back onto its wheels. Thor began to smoke and left Merrimac alone, slowly nearing the side-stranded Spirit of Frank, but Merrimac slowly crept forward and entered the fray, just in time for Spirit of Frank, who swung around and managed to right itself. Despite being self-righted, Spirit of Frank sped away from the competition which all seemed to be idle and non-moving. With no robots active, other than the chaotically driven Spirit of Frank, the battle turned into a standstill until Spirit of Frank charged into Merrimac and once again flipped it onto its side. However, this time the side stranding did not last as Spirit of Frank managed to spin and wiggle itself back onto its wheels, speeding away again. With the remaining robots at a standstill, they all dawdled around the arena, drifting slowly around each other only for Thor to attack Merrimac in the dying seconds of the match, however, by this point the match came to a close with the three surviving robots automatically qualifying, with only Painful Wedgie being eliminated.
Winners: Thor, Merrimac & Spirit of Frank

La Machine vs Thor vs Merrimac vs The Master vs Spirit of Frank[]
- "...So the organizers invited La Machine to enter the Heavyweight Melee. Again, Thor put up a great fight, but was outmanouvred and overpowered."
- — Paul Vallis on La Machine's acceptance and performance in the Heavyweight Melee Final in '95, particularly against Thor, in American Robot Wars 1996
As a result of its impressive performance, and from an audience vote offered at the event due to being a fan favourite [44], La Machine, a middleweight, was allowed into the heavyweight melee final, this was highlighted in the American Robot Wars 1996 VHS alongside footage of this melee.
The battle began with The Master driving into Spirit of Frank and began thwacking its tail before Spirit of Frank drove away and is bulldozed by La Machine who also rammed into The Master briefly. Despite its lack of movements at the start of the match, Merrimac began to move about and attempted to pin La Machine against the side wall as Thor came in from the side of the two and hammered on top of La Machine which managed to slip away from the attacking heavyweights. Thor continued to flail its axe at Merrimac as The Master came in from behind and slammed its tail onto Thor before La Machine came back in and slammed into Thor's side. As the other competitors fought, Spirit of Frank had managed to drive onto a closed arena mousetrap and trapped itself, eliminating itself from the competition. Thor and The Master continued to exchange blows with each other when La Machine rammed the backend of Thor and pushed it across the arena and into a still Merrimac. The Master eventually backed into an arena flipper and managed to accidentally trap itself on top of the floor flipper where it became wedged. Meanwhile, La Machine continued to ram and push Thor, this time from the side, across the arena which caused Thor to smoke internally as it axed away aimlessly, as La Machine shunted Thor across the arena, Merrimac began to chase after them. La Machine shoved Thor onto an arena flipper and managed to hook its back wheel over the flipper, trapping Thor as Thor attempted to get off of the floor flipper using the power of its axe to slowly nudge itself off, however, La Machine rammed it multiple ties, damaging the bottom side panel, freeing the smoking Thor. La Machine briefly slammed into Merrimac as Thor slowly drifted towards the arena centre, smoking and struggling to make much movement. Eventually, the battle came to an end as the only middleweight of the melee, La Machine, was awarded the victory [45].
Winner: La Machine
Other Events[]
Grudge Matches[]
Two head-to-head Grudge Matches took place during the latter stages of the event, each involving Super Lightweight competitor Snickers.[16]
Snickers vs Zomo[]
Both robots made a tentative start as they slowly approached each other, awkwardly avoiding one another before Snickers rammed Zomo only to back away allowing Zomo to slowly trundle along. Snickers drove awkwardly in circles before darting away as Zomo went back and forth with no clear tactic. Eventually, both robot met one another again with Snickers slamming into Zomo and impaling it with its spike. The two were thwacked by an arena flipper before being driven across to the corner of the arena where both robots were stuck to each other and being smacked by an arena flipper. A countdown was initiated, resulting in Snickers being declared the winner as it backed out from the flipper paddle.[46]
Winner: Snickers
Snickers vs Slomo 2[]
Slomo 2 began the quicker robot, however, its movements were erratic, and it swerved side to side before making contact with Snickers who was sitting and spinning. Slomo sped away before turning around and ramming under Snickers and repeating these ramming attacks several times. The two robots awkwardly circled around the arena unable to gain the upper hand on one another as they plowed into one another on rare instances, with Snickers driving back and forth with occasional sit and spinning as Slomo sat and waited then charged in when an opportunity showed itself. After an uneventful few seconds, Snickers, which continued to drift up and down, ended up driving into the arena side wall, where it ended up getting stuck and immobilised.[47]
Winner: Slomo 2
The Mulcher Demonstrations[]
As a result of The Mulcher being disqualified due to safety concerns, The Mulcher was allowed to enter the arena for several demonstrations. Usually it entered the arena with objects involved such as plastic balls and polystyrene blocks.
Blendie vs The Mulcher[]
A special promotional battle with a small featherweight called Blendie created by "Blender Magazine", who were writing an article about Robot Wars, and the much larger The Mulcher. In this one sided match, the larger Mulcher trundled across the arena as Blendie darted away and drove towards an arena mousetrap. The Mulcher tried to back into Blendie, however, Blendie darted away and the two started to chase one another. However, this chase eventually came to a violent end as The Mulcher managed to absorb Blendie in its grabbing mechanism and tore the robot to pieces as soon as it caught the smaller robot, sending glass shards across the arena leaving very little of the sacrificial robot[48]
Winner: The Mulcher
