The Studio is the main arena in the Game Boy Advance version of Robot Wars: Extreme Destruction. It based on the arena used in Series 6 of Robot Wars and Season 2 of Robot Wars: Extreme Warriors, and is available to play at the start of the game. It is used as the arena for tournaments, and is the only arena in the game in which the Drop Zone and Floor Flipper hazards are used on immobilised opponents.
Appearance and HazardsEdit
Almost all of the hazards from the real life version of the Series 5-7 arena are present, such as flame jets and an angle grinder.
During tournaments, two of the four Corner Patrol Zones (CPZs) are occupied by two House Robots. They are empty during the Bash 'N' Dash and Mayhem battles, however. The Pit of Oblivion is activated by a button on the wall just like in real life, as well as the Disc of Doom/Floor Spinner.
As with its real-life counterpart, the Floor Flipper only fires when an immobilised robot is placed on it by a House Robot in tournaments. The Drop Zone also works in this way, and drops objects such as washing machines and grandfather clocks. One angle grinder is present in the arena, and is capable of causing huge amounts of damage to robots which make contact with it. There are also several holes around the arena which shoot jets of flame every few seconds, as well as one hole which shoots a stream of CO2 to damage competitors.
Like the other arenas in the GBA version of Extreme Destruction, the Studio arena is completely enclosed, making it impossible to throw opponents out of the arena, unlike the real Series 5-7 arena.
