The eighth episode of Robot Wars Extreme: Series 1 was originally broadcast on 15 October 2001 on BBC Choice and repeated on 30 November 2001 on BBC Two.
Like most of the episodes of Extreme, it featured episodes from multiple tournaments that ran across the tournament, as well as a main event. Here, the main event was an All-Stars battle between Pussycat and Stinger, the second and third place machines from The Fourth Wars.
The BBC Two broadcast managed to attract 3.45 million viewers, an increase of 150,000 viewers when compared with the previous episode. According to BARB, this meant it ranked ninth in the top thirty highest rated BBC 2 broadcasts during 10-16 December, between Natural World and The Simpsons.

"That's right, Craig, tonight we'll see the mother of all All-Star battles - Pussycat will face the mashing mace of Stinger in the quest to become the best of the best in our All-Star tournament. But before the main event, lets take a look at what else is on tonight's show. Current World Champions Razer meet the double-trouble of Gemini in another All-Star qualifier. Ex-Tag Team champions King B3 and 101 go head-to-head in a Vengeance battle to stop the banter and blame and finally decide who's the best! Napalm and Sir Chromalot take on the awesome axe of Steel Avenger and the crushing jaws of Suicidal Tendencies in our Tag Team Terror tournament and there's mayhem and carnage by the bucketload as Fighting Torque take on MouseTrap and Atomic in our Annihilator qualifiers, the Mayhem. And then tonight's main attraction, Pussycat against Stinger and Stinger are in the pits with a message for the moggy!"

The main event of Episode 8 was an All-Stars battle between Stinger and Pussycat. This was the highest profile first round clash, with the reigning runner-up and third place encountering each other.
Early in filming, the first round line-up was altered to have Stinger fight Tornado, and Pussycat presumably fight 3 Stegs 2 Heaven. The Stinger and Tornado teams had requested the draw because they had supporters in the audience who had come to see them fight. The battle was contested and won by Tornado, but the producers ultimately staged the Stinger v Tornado fight as a vengeance and contest the All-Stars as intended.
