Rough Diamond was a robot built by the Metalwork Modification Mob for Series 4 of Robot Wars. While it ultimately did not appear in that particular series, it is currently unknown how it failed to qualify, or whether the team attempted to enter any later series afterwards.
The robot's name was inspired by its diamond-shaped chassis and the team's claim that it was going to be 'very rough' in the arena.
Design[]
Rough Diamond was an invertible, two-wheel drive robot with a roughly diamond-shaped chassis, hence its name. Its design was intended to resemble a UFO, complete with flashing LED lights and cockpits containing miniature aliens. The robot itself was armoured in aluminium and steel and featured a pair of front and rear cutting discs as its weapons.
