Not to be confused with the UK series competitor Sabretooth.

Sabre Tooth is a lightweight competitor robot in the games Robot Wars: Arenas of Destruction and Robot Wars: Extreme Destruction, undertaking similar guises in both appearances. It can self-right in both games.

Arenas of Destruction[]

"If you thought the saber-toothed tiger of the Ice Age looked menacing, you've seen nothing yet. Here's its modern day counterpart encased in metal. It's Sabre Tooth!"
Jonathan Pearce's in-game commentary

In Arenas of Destruction, Sabre Tooth's weapons are an axe and a spike and it is armoured in Kevlar.

Strategies[]

Using Sabre Tooth[]

Flippers should not be a problem as Sabre Tooth can self-right, unless the axe breaks off. Your best bet is to aim for robots which have weak armour and not too damaging weapons.

Against Sabre Tooth[]

Sabre Tooth can self-right, so unless its axe comes off flipping it would be a waste of time. The best thing to do is to get a robot with high pushing power and push from the sides, avoiding the axe and long spike all the while. Also, your robot might need strong armour like titanium as the axe could cause damage if you get close enough.

Extreme Destruction[]

In Extreme Destruction, Sabre Tooth's drive motors are now 12 volts and the rear spike is no longer present.

Strategies[]

Using Sabre Tooth[]

Sabre Tooth's pickaxe is deadly, and can be used to destroy most armour. However, because of its cone shape and two wheels, it has poor pushing power.

Against Sabre Tooth[]

The best thing to do is to ram Sabre Tooth from the sides or rear, as flipping it will prove a waste of time. Try to avoid the axe as this can cause serious damage. Sabre Tooth's rear is unprotected in Extreme Destruction, so a good tactic is to attack this side of the robot.
