Sir Killalot Minibot
The Sir Killalot Minibot was one of several minibots released as merchandise. Unlike the larger toy, the minibot of Sir Killalot has a pullback motor, rather than a friction motor. It is quite accurate in terms of its colour, shape and general appearance. Though the arm and lance move, making it the first minibot to feature moving weapons, the claws are static. The body is made out of metal but the lance and claws are plastic. The minibot was based on the Fifth Wars edition and was coated in shiny dark blue acrylic paint. It was one of the first Robot Wars minibots, produced in 1998, and cost around £5.00, but nowadays it is one of the more expensive minibots. It was packaged with the Chaos 2 and X-Terminator minibots.
Sir Killalot is one of the most difficult minibots to find, along with the Razer minibot as there are very few listings on eBay. When the second generation of minibots came out, they were not to scale with the first generation of minibots which included Sir Killalot. The Australian version of this minibot featured less detailed packaging and was realeased in 2002, four years later than the UK version. It was also slightly more expensive in Australia. The minibot was mainly sold in the UK and the Republic of Ireland and some parts of Australia. There was an exclusive version of the Sir Killalot minibot, with more information and details on the packaging, but it was still packaged with the same minibots.
The Sir Killalot minibot is different to other minibots in a range of ways for example the sir killalot minibot is the only minibot to have 4 wheels rather than 3, this is to prevent it from tilting on to one side and help it to balance equally with the lance and claws. Also the pullback motor of the minibot is black unlike other minibots which have white pullback motors.
