Slicer was a competitor robot which attempted to enter Series 4 of Robot Wars, but failed to qualify. The robot was built by one member of Team General, who also attempted to enter the Fourth Wars with The General.
Design[]
Slicer's physical design is unknown, however, it was armed with a cutting disc as well as having four wheels, weighing only 60kg. Internally, Slicer was powered by a 4 x 12v 7Ah batteries as well being driven using 600 watts 24v motors. Slicer also made use of a servo switch.
Qualification[]
Slicer faced the team's other machine The General in its known qualifier bout for Series 4. The battle started poorly for Slicer who was immediately flipped over by a ramming attack by The General, however, Slicer began more aggressive in its attacks by charging into The General, throwing itself around in each attack. In one skidding attack, Slicer was toppled over to its back and landed onto the Flame Pit where the motors were burnt out. The General then attempted to push Slicer into The Pit but was unable to.[1]
- "THE GENERAL versus SLICER in the auditions. 10 am 3rd AUG.. About a minute into the battle, SLICER broke down and THE GENERAL made it thro to the next round which never came!?! At 3pm Bill Hobbins came to tell us that both robots were not in the tv series 4. He said 'that he had seen better robots.'"
- — Team General on the battle[2]
Both Slicer and The General failed to qualify under the pretence that there "had been better robots".
