Sobek was a robot from Massachusetts. It was similar to BattleBots super-heavyweight champion Diesector in its invertible, four-wheeled design with a pneutmatic jaw and two movable arms to lift the robot up. It was designed somewhat off a purple crocodile. However, the wheels were not particularly strong, as on two occasions, the wheels were broken off.

Sobek represented the Union in the Civil War, defeating US Runners-up The Revolutionist, but lost in its other two battles. It also carried a sacrificial tire on its crusher during the Civil War. Interestingly, out of three battles, two had House Robots interfering with Sobek and receiving yellow cards.

Sobek fought as Negative Reinforcement in BattleBots, but lost in the first round. They also tried to enter in the first season of Robotica, but ended up being an alternate that didn't compete.

Sobek is the name of the Egyptian God of crocodiles.

Robot History

Season 1

The Revolutionist rips off the sacrificial tire off of Sobek.

Representing the Union, Sobek met The Revolutionist, who spun up to speed and shredded the sacrificial tire instantly. The Revolutionist then landed several blows on Sobek, who attempted to retaliate.

However, despite Sobek being unable to bite The Revolutionist, the Confederacy's

machine stopped spinning. It continued to move sluggishly, but Sobek kept pushing until Sergeant Bash tackled it for no reason. After Refbot chased the Sergeant away, Sobek attempted to chase The Revolutionist, but Sergeant Bash interrupted again as time ran out. Sergeant Bash received a yellow card and the match went to the judges, who chose Sobek to go through. Sobek met another large body spinner in $6 Million Mouse. Neither dealt damage early on, but the Mouse managed to smash and bend one of Sobek's arms out of place, before hammering at its jaw weapon. Finally, Sobek's wheel was cleaved off by the Mouse's blade. Dead Metal seized Sobek and attacked, but Refbot gave Dead Metal a yellow card and counted out Sobek, before Sir Killalot pitted Sobek.

Tricerabot attacks Sobek.

In the US Championship, Sobek bumped several opponents before being attacked by Tricerabot. The attack from Team Juggerbot buckled one of Sobek's wheels under the weight, severely hampering Sobek's ability to move. Sobek was attacked by Unibite, who ripped off Sobek's wheel entirely for the second time in the Season. Sobek tried to keep up with the battle, but was eliminated in favour of The Revolutionist.
