I added the stats of the house robots and they were deleted. I'm not annoyed cos its still in the page history but I don't get why.CaptainAlex 16:00, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

I deleted them because I felt they were taking up too much of the article, and that the write-up was suffering because of that. CBFan 20:03, 26 July 2008 (UTC)

Planned flying house robot Edit

I read that there was a planned flying helicopter house robot whose plans never made it off the ground. Don't have a name for it, but I saw some concept drawings somewhere

I don't know who wrote this, I don't know where you read that, I haven't seen any concept drawings. ManUCrazy 13:54, November 26, 2009 (UTC)

Post Robot Wars Edit

Does anyone know wat happened to the house robots after Robot Wars? Helloher (talk) 16:03, September 25, 2009 (UTC)

1. They were sold off. 2. They were sold or given to the controllers or roboteers. 3. They were released back into the wild. Any one of these ideas could be true (perhaps not 3). All I know is if Shunt ever crops up in some sort of sale I got to at least have a bid. Llamaman201 (talk) 17:30, September 25, 2009 (UTC)
They are in storage in London :)Matt(Talk) 10:12, August 9, 2010 (UTC)
From the information available it is unable to confirm exactly what has happened to them, but it is more than likely they are in storage. it is also rumoured that sir killalot got sold.i do know that the arena was scrapped, although i am confident that the house robots are still in storage.

House Robot Articles Edit

I really think the articles for the House Robots need serious improving. Most of them are stubs....does anyone have any idea as to what we can do to improve them? CBFan (talk) 13:46, November 26, 2009 (UTC)

There looks to be some more good information on henaz999's Youtube videos from the House Robot DVDs regarding the weapon systems and concepts of the house robots so I guess using those to expand would be a good start, but of course that won't help Cassius Chrome (and won't help Growler & Mr. Psycho too much). ManUCrazy 13:59, November 26, 2009 (UTC)
Maybe we should do a "Series History", like the competitor robots, but instead notify the various changes made to them, the roles they played and their best and worst moments of each series? CBFan (talk) 10:55, November 27, 2009 (UTC)
Sounds good. Helloher (Death is not my phone number) 18:40, November 27, 2009 (UTC)

The Sentinel Edit

Does anybody think this should have its own article? I know there's not a great deal to say about it, but I still think it's worthy of a separate page instead of having all its information on this one. Christophee (talk) 16:37, December 14, 2009 (UTC)

We gave Unknown House Robot its own page, so I don't see why not. Helloher (Death is not my phone number) 17:11, December 14, 2009 (UTC)
I definately agree with this - it needs its own page, I was thinking just the other day. Toon Ganondorf (t c) 19:45, December 14, 2009 (UTC)

The Red Baron Edit

Hi, I'm not sure if it should be mentioned or have it's own article, but I remember reading in an issue of Robot Wars Magazine (I can't recall which one exactly, it may have been the one with Razer's cartoon form on the cover)about a hypothetical house robot called the Red Baron. It was supposed to be a composite house robot, made up of parts of most of the house robots, having Sir Killalots caterpillar tracks and claw, Sergeant Bash's armour on the back (painted red), Dead Metal's head/saw on top and I'm fairly sure Shunts plough on the back. I don't know if it deserves an article or if it's worth mentioning, it's just been weighing on my mind lately.

Possibly worth a mention, but certainly not its own article. Don't do anything without a source though. Matt(Talk) 21:58, January 23, 2011 (UTC)
It'd certainly be worth mentioning when we make a page for the Robot Wars Magazine. It not only appeared in that issue, but also the last one...and I do have a picture. CrashBash 17:37, January 24, 2011 (UTC)

Sgt. Bash found? Edit

I would think Team Storm are fairly trustworthy. [1] ToastUltimatum 08:32, January 5, 2016 (UTC)

Table Edit

A while back Crash Bash created this table which shows clearly which HR was in which series. I quite like this table and was wondering if it could be added in?

House Robot Series 1 Series 2 Series 3 Series 4 Series 5/Extreme 1 Series 6/Extreme 2 Series 7 2016 Series
Cassius Chrome
Dead Metal
Mr. Psycho
Sergeant Bash
Sir Killalot
The Sentinel

Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 09:13, March 24, 2016 (UTC)

I like it. It's very clear and that's good. Jimlaad43(talk) 09:17, March 24, 2016 (UTC)
Where should it be added? Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 09:32, March 24, 2016 (UTC)
I would personally put it on the main House Robot page somewhere. CrashBash (talk) 12:54, March 24, 2016 (UTC)

A quick question about the reboot House Robots, would we keep their main image as the current photos, or switch to the new ones? Jimlaad43(talk) 12:57, March 24, 2016 (UTC)

If we can get some high quality shots of their new designs as and when it comes around, then I think we should switch. CrashBash (talk) 12:59, March 24, 2016 (UTC)
The BBC stated on the new article that these House Robots are the "children" of the originals, and I'm pretty sure they named the HR Matilda 2.0, Dead Metal 2.0, Shunt 2.0 and Sir Killalot 2.0. This may seem like an unpopular opinion but I think we could make new articles seeing as the Beeb claim that they are the "spawn" of the originals. Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 15:34, March 24, 2016 (UTC)

I do think that would be a good idea Diotor. Due to the fact that the house robots have layed dormant for 13 years I think it's safe to say that these new updated versions should have a page to themselves. One more thing, I am right in thinking a second series is planned for the end of the year. So does that mean they will create the other House Robots such as Growler, Sergent Bash etc for the second series? They did have limited time for series 1 so they probably didn't get the others created in time.321Annihilate (talk) 15:45, March 24, 2016 (UTC)

I think it may well depend on how drastically different the "new" House Robots are to their previous forms. For example, if Shunt is still clearly identifiable to his previous form, that's one thing, but if he looks completely different then that's another altogether. CrashBash (talk) 17:21, March 24, 2016 (UTC)
@321 the guy on reddit who claims to be a producer stated that Refbot is "certain" to return and Bash is "likely" but that that with a grain of salt.

@Crashbash (hopefully this isn't spoiling anything) Shunt and DM don't appear to look different but they obviously have been made differently from what I've heard... Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 17:38, March 24, 2016 (UTC)

Yes Diotor I don't think it spoils much and it would be great if some of the others return for series 2. Thanks for the info.P.S I also saw Dead Metal at the pilot and I would agree he hasn't been changed to much. 321Annihilate (talk) 18:12, March 24, 2016 (UTC)

2016 Descriptions Wording? Edit

Probably me just being overly sentimental/silly here, but it almost seems a bit of a shame to describe the new House Robots as "hugely improved" over the originals? I mean obviously they are improved, but it almost feels like it is putting down the original series over the new one when this site is equally devoted to both?

E.g. Instead wording it something like "like her counterparts, a new Matilda was built from scratch for the 2016 series, new weighing much heavier, and with higher top speeds..." Etc just stating the facts so the reader can make up their own mind if they are improved?

Also being sentimental, would it look better for the House Robot pages to show an image of both original and new versions of the machine together like the Robot Wars article shows both logo versions together?

Finally, could describing them as "rebuilt" as they are now read to some as if they are the original robots that have been overhauled as opposed to completely new builds? As I say probably silly ideas so feel free to disagree, but just some thoughts aha. Prodworthy (talk) 00:54, June 26, 2016 (UTC)

I understand there is some way to fit tabs into the templates. I'm not entirely sure how to, or whether we need a separate template, but this would be interesting to do for both house robots and competitors to have a main image for each version. I'm sure much larger wikis use them, such as Walking Dead, Game of Thrones or My Little Pony. RelicRaider (talk) 01:40, June 26, 2016 (UTC)
Other wikis I've been to, typically anime wikis, tend to have little tabs allowing you to see pictures, and occasionally entire "statistics" of characters before and after certain moments (I.E. series or timeskips). CrashBash (talk) 05:55, June 26, 2016 (UTC)
The FNaF wiki and a few other wikis that I can probably think of but don't know their names, although they probably are anime/manga wikis have tabs for when characters pop up with differences or pops up in new media and then wikians edits the page to incorporate that appearance into that page. The MK wiki would also be a possibility, as it to has tabs, although it has the history divided in two (due to everyone dying in Armageddon). --WolfwingandSlaveLeia (talk) 07:47, June 26, 2016 (UTC)

Behind the scene photos Edit

Here are some behind the scene photos from the 2016 house robots. I am relucant to upload these at the moment after Prodworthy and MadLooney's claims. Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 15:35, June 28, 2016 (UTC)

2016 House Robot Twitter accounts Edit

Looking around on Twitter seems to have revealed twitter accounts for the four 2016 House Robots: They appear to be run by Mentor or whoever runs the official account. Killalot's account says "born on 06 November", the day in 1998 of Heat A of The Second Wars, his first appearance. They all link to and seem to avoid posting anything controversial or likely to worry the BBC's lawyers. Can anybody find any definitive proof that they are official or unofficial accounts? And should we add them to the individual pages if they are official?

Important note is an unofficial parody account, it clearly states this in its twitter bio. --Voyanuitoa (talk) 13:22, August 24, 2016 (UTC)

These have been around for a while. They're not official. ToastUltimatum 15:03, August 24, 2016 (UTC)

2016 weights? Edit

Are the weights of the 2016 House Robots currently mentioned approximate or exact? The "Meet the House Robots" special claims that Shunt is 300kg, Dead Metal is 370 and Killalot is 750 (which would mean he now equals Mr. Psycho in weight). WikiSurf (talk) 17:42, September 28, 2016 (UTC)

The ones on the cards that the BBC put up on Facebook, with 741 and all that is correct. The 300 and 750 ones are just rounded up because its easier to make them sound more heavier than needed. Also, no one uses the actual numbers for a TV show, you round it up. --WolfwingandSlaveLeia (talk) 17:51, September 28, 2016 (UTC)

'Spyder' and 'The Bird' Edit

Browsing through the second run of the Robot Wars Magazine recently, I came across an intriguing article in the news section of Issue 5 regarding changes to the show that executive producer Steve Carsey proposed prior to Series 7. As well as an enlarged arena and ideas for an altered format, there's a mention of the producers proposing two more House Robots which were intended to follow directly after Mr. Psycho and Growler:

  • Spyder, said to be an 'observational robot'
  • The Bird, a flying robot.

Of course, these two were scrapped in favour of Cassius Chrome, and there doesn't appear to be any other information on them around anywhere. Can anyone else shed more light on Spyder and The Bird, what they were going to look like, and what sort of weapons/features they would have had? VulcansHowl (talk) 18:21, September 28, 2016 (UTC)

Robo Challenge Edit

Found this on my YouTube home section - --WolfwingandSlaveLeia (talk) 10:22, April 20, 2017 (UTC)

Space albumEdit

As DaveyDoodlebug had added, the Album "Spiders" by "Space" does indeed include the tracks Mister Psycho and Growler. As shown here. At the moment it is pure coincidence, and shouldn't be on the page until proven, but we should have the record of it here in case anyone is able to do some digging, or knows someone in charge of naming Mr. Psycho and Growler, and can confirm or deny it. Jimlaad43(talk) 15:26, November 17, 2017 (UTC)

I think a coincidence like that belongs in trivia at the least. TOAST 17:24, November 17, 2017 (UTC)

A Random link to some interesting images Edit

For anyone's interest:

Edit: Forgot to mention here's a very interesting image of "Dozzer" who appears to be an early Shunt! Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 19:52, April 11, 2018 (UTC)

Could that be a side view of Shove circa Series 6? I definitely recognise the wheelguards, shovel and body from the image we have of it with the Series 6 Technical Crew... VulcansHowl 20:08, April 11, 2018 (UTC)
From what I read "Dozerbot" as it was named was the original Shunt BUT it was used in a similar fashion to Shove in Series 6 to clean up debris, though it is offically Dozerbot this one.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 20:14, April 11, 2018 (UTC)
"Dozerbot is used to push the dropped washing machines and stuff out of the arena. It is only built for sheer power. It's twice as powerfull as Growler, but I think it looks rather stupid."
— Unknown Behind the Scenes individual
Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 20:16, April 11, 2018 (UTC)
Very interesting that Dozerbot appears to be the name used by that particular BTS crewmember, especially on the back of previous discussions regarding that name on Shove's talk page. And if the higher quality image of Shove in The Pits is anything to go by, that axe-like appendage seems to have been carried over into its other design as well. VulcansHowl 21:32, April 11, 2018 (UTC)
Andrew Marchant told me this in this reply: Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 06:02, April 12, 2018 (UTC)

Old House Robot designs Edit

On the old archived Metorn website (Ref: ) about Robot Wars, it reveals these designs for House Robots including names. What's interesting is that these were drawn back in 1995. Note: the two different names, one on the webpage and the names on each sketch. Thoughts? Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 15:22, July 10, 2018 (UTC)

Very interesting. Two of them, Hammerhead/Happy Eater and The Keeper/Shove, appeared in the Fun Fax, but none of the others do- and one is referred to by its website name, the other by its sketch name. Combatwombat555 (talk) 16:49, July 10, 2018 (UTC)
