Possible air dates[]

http://genome.ch.bbc.co.uk/search/0/20?adv=0&q=Robot+wars+revealed&media=all&yf=1923&yt=2009&mf=1&mt=12&tf=00%3A00&tt=00%3A00#search Radio Times listings for 14 episodes of Revealed, starting on 16 October 1998, could these be an extra two episodes? --Voyanuitoa (talk) 19:57, February 21, 2017 (UTC)

Many thanks for the listings, Voyanuitoa. I am going to add them to the page. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 20:00, February 21, 2017 (UTC)
That said, though, I am not too sure. The episode broadcast dates make no real sense, with some being broadcast between the air dates of Series 2 and 3. Meanwhile, Philippa Forrester in that Heat I episode states about how King Buxton would be competing in the Series 2 Semi-Finals, which would have been broadcast far earlier than 16 October 1998. Confused? I know that source is more reliable than anything we have at the moment, but I am unsure about adding the dates to the page just yet. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 20:12, February 21, 2017 (UTC)
The main caveat with the BBC Genome Project is that it is taken directly from the physical Radio Times, and is not a 100% accurate record of what was broadcast and when as programmes can overrun or be cancelled and for many years RT could only publish BBC listings, however with BBC Choice I feel that may not be the case. It is possible that the two episodes could have focused on the House Robots, the arena, the upcoming 2nd series. --Voyanuitoa (talk) 20:32, February 21, 2017 (UTC)
I am still a bit skeptical, but feel free to add them to the article. After all, they are the only source of broadcast dates we have. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 20:36, February 21, 2017 (UTC)
The impression I got from Team B was that the episodes were given to the competing roboteers due to their membership with Robot Wars Club, and this was the only way to get it. TOAST 20:45, February 21, 2017 (UTC)
On second thoughts I misinterpreted. It quite clearly aired on BBC Choice. We can simply state on the article that Radio Times claim there were 14 episodes, then whether or not it is true is up to the reader. However I think 14 episodes is totally realistic - 12 heats, the semi-finals, the Grand Final. TOAST 21:08, February 21, 2017 (UTC)
The problem with the heats, semi-finals and grand final theory is that Revealed was first broadcast (according to Radio Times) on 16 October, the Second Wars was first broadcast on 6 November. The two don't match up without spoiling each episode about 3 weeks in advance. --Voyanuitoa (talk) 21:14, February 21, 2017 (UTC)
I see. Well, all the more reason to not assume the contents of each episode. TOAST 21:19, February 21, 2017 (UTC)
I've just looked closely and seen that the Radio Times listings are all from 1999, not 1998. Does anyone know when RT started listings for BBC choice, the "Chill on Choice" program, which mentions Revealed, on the BBC Genome Project page is listed as 22 February 1999, months before the other listings. As such we may not know the original broadcast dates or how many episodes there were.--Voyanuitoa (talk) 21:29, February 21, 2017 (UTC)

More episodes[]

According to a recent Reddit discussion, Team 13 have a handful of VHS recordings for other episodes, one of which is the one based on Heat G. Time will tell whether they decide to share them online, but this is a very encouraging step forwards, nonetheless. VulcansHowl 10:24, February 22, 2018 (UTC)

Individual Pages?[]

I don't know whether this would work (considering we only have two episodes) but should there be individual pages? Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 12:40, March 3, 2019 (UTC)

Ideally yes. TOAST 14:33, March 3, 2019 (UTC)

Mech+ Teaser[]

If you have seen the teaser put out by the Mech+ Twitter feed today, the very observant will catch a glimpse of a digitally-restored Robot Wars Revealed title card in the final few seconds. As I've said in the main Robot Wars talk page, we don't know exactly how much has been unearthed and restored yet, but it's fantastic to see that Passion Distribution are going out of their way to release this once-forgotten spin-off to the public again. VulcansHowl 12:00, 4 May 2022 (UTC)

Well now we're 100% justified to having episode articles if someone's willing to put the time, exciting stuff! Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 12:13, 4 May 2022 (UTC)
I really hope we'll have enough volunteers to work on Revealed content, it absolutely deserves coverage but I've still got to focus on HD images for the time being (along with a lot of YouTube priorities atm outside of the wiki), but this is still an overwhelming win for the community. TOAST 13:44, 4 May 2022 (UTC)
I am looking forward to seeing the episodes as is, potentially just watching them and enjoying them first before going back through and writing or adding stuff to articles. Jimlaad43 13:53, 4 May 2022 (UTC)
I've gone ahead and created a test page to help us work out the format of the episode articles as and when they need to be added. Any feedback and suggestions on what I have proposed so far would be welcome. VulcansHowl 14:28, 6 May 2022 (UTC)

May 6th Stream[]

A further heads-up on the imminent Mech+ stream: the entire series will be streamed tonight at 7pm BST for UK users, and 2pm EDT for US and Canadian users. After that, the episodes will be ready to watch on demand on the 7th. VulcansHowl 11:18, 6 May 2022 (UTC)

Checking Mech+’s Live Channel schedule, it looks like Revealed will start airing at 6:30pm, not 7pm. —Voyanuitoa (talk) 14:33, 6 May 2022 (UTC)
Not only that, but the schedule suggests that the series has a run of 15 episodes. Could the 15th be the "Chill on Choice" episode that was listed on Genome, or an additional main episode revolving around the Grand Final? VulcansHowl 14:56, 6 May 2022 (UTC)
The description for Episode 15 reads “Four robotic warriors have battled their way to the Grand Final. The other competitors have been sent to a scrapheap. See what it’s like behind the scenes of the most intense stage of the competition.” Voyanuitoa (talk) 14:59, 6 May 2022 (UTC)

Episode Article Status Update: 9th May 2022[]

So far, all 15 episode pages have been added to the Wiki, with the first five having Philippa's intros along with fully-fleshed out Content sections and Trivia notes where relevant.

As a reference for myself and other Wiki contributors who may like to help out, we still require the following:

  • Content write-ups for every page from Episode 6 onwards, plus any appropriate Trivia notes.
  • Intro quotes for Episodes 6-8 and 10-15. The one for Episode 9 has already been copied and pasted from the main Revealed page.
  • Images from behind-the-scenes clips that are not shown in the main series, those including shots from the Pits, arena and video diaries. Similar case with Philippa from her intros/outros and various teams/crewmembers who appear in this series.
