Team Ivanhoe was a team who competed in the original UK run of Robot Wars. They first entered Series 2 with their namesake robot Ivanhoe, before returning in Series 4 with the much more successful Splinter. The team would make further appearances with the latter in Series 5 and the first series of Robot Wars Extreme.
The Team[]

The team with Ivanhoe
Team Ivanhoe consisted of Stuart and Craig Weightman, a father and son duo from Norwich. Stuart was the lead designer and builder of both of the team's robots and operated the weapons. He did however, drive Ivanhoe one time during the Tug of War trial in their Series 2 Heat. Meanwhile, Craig was the driver of the robots; a student at Taverham High School, it was noted by Jonathan Pearce that he was a black belt in karate. Both Stuart and Craig shared speaking roles during interviews, though Craig appeared to be somewhat camera shy as he often sounded nervous in the interviews, while Stuart would usually aid him and speak more confidently as he was the elder of the two. However, Craig was the one to conduct the team's introduction for Series 5.
The team attempted to enter Series 3 with both Ivanhoe and Splinter, but were not selected, and subsequently failed to qualify for Series 6. Team Ivanhoe retired before Series 7 and sold Splinter on eBay, which was purchased by Team RCC, who tried to enter Splinter into Series 7, but failed to qualify as well.
- "Hi, Just letting anyone who is interested that we have decided unfortunately to sell SPLINTER. Its a fine robot, works well and all the parts did cost a fair old sum, so, rather than leaving him in the garage for years to gather dust it would be nice to pass him on to someone who could make use of him or the parts within. "
