- "The biggest highlight was the appearance of Sir Killalot, who always ended the show by totally trashing a challenger going by the very scary name of 'Teddybot'"
- — Robot Wars Magazine
Teddybot was a demonstration-only robot designed by producer Bill Rudgard and built by Derek Foxwell. It exclusively appeared at Robot Mayhem and on the 2001 Robot Wars Live Event tour, appearing in demonstration fights where it was purposefully dismantled by Sir Killalot.
Design[]
At Robot Mayhem, Teddybot was a large box-shaped robot with two large exposed tyres. Teddybot was weaponless and had exposed wires, batteries and motors, covered only by a black stuffed toy.
Teddybot underwent a significant redesign for the 2001 Live Events. It was now much larger, almost the same size as Sir Killalot, and was designed to resemble a large teddy bear sitting in an armchair and the whole robot was covered in brown fur. Teddybot now featured a weapon in the form of two large axes.
Robot History[]
Series 4[]
Teddybot fought Sir Killalot in demonstration-only fights at the end of each Robot Mayhem show, which also served as the official qualifiers for Series 4. Teddybot would be destroyed by Sir Killalot each time during these battles and George Francis of Chaos 2 would always repair it for it to be used again.[1]

Teddybot in battle with Sir Killalot
Teddybot once again returned for the 2001 Live Events, now completely rebuilt, once again battling Sir Killalot at the end of each show.[2][3] During one demonstration from the Cardiff leg - broadcast by BBC Wales Today - Teddybot was chased around the arena by Sir Killalot, with the latter attacking it and breaking off parts of its armour, leaving its mechanics exposed. Eventually, Teddybot was pushed into the Pit by Sir Killalot.[4] Many of the battles between Teddybot and Sir Killalot likely played out in much the same fashion.
