Terrorhurtz in Robot Wars: Arenas of Destruction

Terrorhurtz was a heavyweight robot that competed in the final three series of UK Robot Wars, managing a Round 2 appearance in its heat, the next series it achieved fourth place, however it withdrew from its final series. It was armed with an extremely powerful pneumatic axe that fired with enough force to throw itself over. Terrorhurtz is known for causing incredible amounts of damage, as its axe can fire at over 100mph. Terrorhurtz made its first of two video game appearence in Robot Wars: Arenas of Destruction.

Killerhurtz & Terrorhurtz

It was originally planned that Killerhurtz would be featured in this game, due to success overseas in American competition Battlebots; however Battlebots owned the rights to Killerhurtz, so the game designers decided to use the robot that John Reid had recently built for Series 5. As Arenas of Destruction was release prior to the broadcasting of the final heat of Series 5, the game was Terrorhurtz's first appearence.

Appearence and Armament

Terrorhurtz retains most of its detail in Arenas of Destruction, most importantly its large, bladed axe and translucent body; however some differences are noticable. The axe arm is longer, and the robot is overall more rounded and lower to the ground than its real life counterpart. Like in real life, Terrorhurtz is armed with a large axe that is very powerful. Unlike real life however, the axe can only rest in one position, and is slower.

Stratagies

Using Terrohurtz

Terrorhurtz has quite destructive weaponry, and so it is capable of causing plenty of damage, although it doesn't have the best armour. It is also unflippable; however your best tactics are to hit the other robots with the axe, and also to lure them into pits and traps, as Terrorhurtz has mediocre pushing power.

Against Terrorhurtz

While the axe is equipped, Terrorhurtz will always be able to right itself, rendering flipping weapons impotent. Spinning weapons and other axes are far more effective, as the armour is weak. Besides from this, pushing or luring Terrorhurtz into hazards is a good idea. However, should the axe break off, it is far simpler to strand it upside down.

Differences from Real Life

  • The axe is slower, and will default in one position.
  • The body is lower down and more rounded.
  • The axe arm is longer.
